Hi,
I'm trying to deploy my business components to my middle tier to access data in Oracle 8i. I have to make a JDBC connection from my middle tier to 8i(the IIOP connection to 8i just doesn't work)
Can I do this by simple creating a .jar for the business components??? Anybody know if this would work???

Your business components always use JDBC to access data. IIOP comes in when your business components are deployed as an EJB session bean or CORBA object; the client then uses IIOP to access the business components.
I suggest you take a look at the online documentation for more information about deploying business components. Look in:

I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!
The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works. Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up. Try them again.
Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp. Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp. Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.

I have GarageBand for iPad 2 and noticed that there are far fewer loops for iPad than for apple laptops. Is there a library available of apple loops? I haven't been able to find any if there are. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Update: An Apple rep called me today to update the status of my return. I was told that the replacements for the BLACK iPad 2's was still another 3 weeks out (at least) so they offered me a brand new WHITE 16GB iPad 2. I could have that or continue waiting. I opted to go ahead and accept the offer of a new white one. Worst case scenario if I don't like the white one I have buddy that just bought a 16GB black one that he would be willing to swap it.

When I click on my itunes icon on my computer nothing happens. When I try to web search itunes and sign in it will not let me. Everything works perfect on my ipad still though. I can click on quicktime and it works perfectly. Any help would be appreciated

Nullpointer exception... any help would be appreciated
In advance, I apologize for any ignorance which I may obviously have... I'm in the process of learning Java, and am used to C/C++... In any case, I'm running into a nullpointer exception while 'compiling', which I'm having trouble figuring out... I'll list everything below, but this message will be rather long, as I will try to include everything I can. For this reason, I will ask my questions here, at the top:
1) A null pointer exception, I believe, is generated when something is being referenced which is currently null, for example "a=null; a.b;" yields a null pointer exception. However, is there any other way that one is generated?
2) Are there methods to figure out what/why something is null other than simply looking at it? As shown below, it seems that just looking at it runs you in a circle from line to line, file to file, which leads you back to the beginning where nothing is actually null... (I'm probably just not seeing it, but that seems to be what's happening to me)
So now, on to the actual code:

A major theory which I currently have is that the compiler is beginning with my main.java file, and not seeing the class definition in another file, and thus attributing the class obj I create as null, which is causing the error, but I also am not sure if this is possible...

I wouldn't believe that this would be an issue, however if it could possibly be causing this, I can figure out how to set it properly. Your assumption re a NPE is correct, that's the only way they're generated.
There are no "canned" methods to resolve NPEs. The best solution is to put System.out.println statements for all of the involved objects and variables immediately preceeding the error line (in this case, 110) and something will show null. Usually that's enough info to backtrace to the real cause. -
Downloaded Yosemite and since then cannot connect to internet or bluetooth mouse - was advised to delete system configuration file from the hard drive and since then cannot start up computer. Any help would be appreciated - cheers.
Boot the MBP with the OPTION+COMMAND+R keys down. The result should be a display showing a revolving globe. By following the instructions, you will be able to reinstall the original OSX. Then you may reinstall Yosemite.
A solid Internet connection will be required.

Hello liz1411, check also if you have something related to Bitlord (like toolbars) in Firefox Extensions and delete it, go from Firefox button(the orange button at the right top) > Add-ons > Extensions.

Good grief... time machine issue... any help would be appreciated.
So I bought a 750 gig internal HD for my mac pro. Exactly the same size as both my internal drives combined (I have a 250 and a 500). Time machine has been working great since November. No problems. Today however I get an error message telling me that Time machine doesn't have enough room to make a back up? What the heck does that mean? My understanding was that time machine wrote over old backups in order to continue to keep making new ones. Am I totally off base here? Do I need a 100tb hard drive to make backups with Time Machine? Any help would be appreciate as it looks like the only way it will let me make backups now is to wipe the hard drive clean and start over and I KNOW that can't be how Apple designed this thing, so I must be missing something.

Unfortunately your 750g backUp drive may not be big enough
Here is what I recommend to find out for certain.
Go to backUp drive, look inside backUp folder that was created by Time Machine
(probably something like Backups.backupdb)
hilight first backUp folder do a command I (get info) ,
takes awhile but note the size of first backUp
probably very large
now get Info on all or most of the rest of your backUp folders
they should be much smaller as they are only new stuff
If the total of all folders reaches 750g then this is truly the source of your problem
If you're like me... 750g is nothing in the world of Video and graphics
it is eeeeasy to create this kind of volume of files
Once you backUp then remove files from Computer then subsequently
begin to fill your computer up with new files ... it is easy to exceed 750g
If this is your situation, then (I recommend) read thru support

I think the large original backUp folder must be on same drive as all subsequent backUp folders
because TM references that original folder to make sure it only backsUp new stuff -

New Features it would be cool to see implemented in the future
I really love itunes, but have some ideas of things that could be improved upon in the future:
Firstly this in an issue about something that used to work better than it does now: it used to be that if you had a smart playlist set to live update on your ipod it would update on the ipod itself, not just itunes. here's an example: if the list was set to only have songs with a playcount less than one (ie, unplayed songs) then if those songs were played and the playlist was exited from and reentered, those songs would then no longer appear in the playlist. This was a feature I used with regularity, but now cannot due to updates to my ipod's os.
Secondly, it would be great if more logic were added to the smartlist functionality. As of now, you can either have a list follow all or any of the options. it would be great to have logic more along the lines of: this and this or this or that. that way some very interesting and specific lists could be created.
also, it would be cool if the blue dot that appears next to a podcast if it is new would last until that podcasts has been played through in full (ie playcount=1) instead of just in part.
another useful addition would be the choice to designate a playlist as video only, audio only or any. that way videos wouldn't pop up in audio lists.
finally it would be great to have an option to say if the ipod it being charged, then the backlight would automatically turn on and stay on (timer turned off).http://www.apple.com/feedback/

I have an IMac. I put a folder on the desk top and now want to delete it. The folder seems to be locked. I went into Get Info and attemted to unlock the folder and delete it. Won't go away. There is nothing in the folder. How do I unlock this folder and delete it? When I try to delete it, I'm asked for my password which I put in and is accepted, but will not delete the folder. Any help would be great.

Reset your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
