HH2 DHCP Table Length

Hi All,
On the HH2, the DHCP Table length (in Advanced Settings\HomeNetwork\DHCP Table) is limited to 15 rows.
I have more than 15 unique devices which access my HH2, which isn't necessarily a problem until an IP address/MAC address conflict occurs and then trying to find the conflicting devices is a nightmare. Does anyone know if there is a way to view and edit the full DHCP Table on a HH2?
Thanks

  • HH 2.0A "Unkown Host" on DHCP Table...

Recently a family member bought a new Blackberry.  I set it up on our HH2.0A and it connects okay and can see the Internet through the Hub no problem.  However I wanted to name the device on the HH2 and set it to use the same IP address all the time.
When I go to the "Home Network" / "Devices" page it never appears.  If I go to "Home Network" / "DHCP Table"  I can see the following entry:
    Unkown Host
    40:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
    192.168.1.78
    00:22:49:39
...and yes "Unknown" is spelt wrong!!!  The MAC address matches the phone though.  If I click on the link "Unkown Host" it drops me back at "Home Network" / "Devices".
    Any ideas?
    Chris.

Its a while since I looked at the HH2, but on the HH1, there is a "devices" list, which shows which are active, and to the right, there is an "edit" button.
I would have to unbox my spare HH2 to look at the menues, but its quite possible someone with a HH2 online, may give you the answer.
Normally it would list the device on the "Home Network" / "Device" page as "Unknown" followed by the MAC address.  You can click on it and then go to a page which allows you to name the device and lock the IP address.  It is not appearing on the page though!

  • E3200 clears DHCP table randomly

My E3200 has been clearing it's DHCP table at random times. When it's been cleared the router starts handing out duplicate addresses. It's running the latest (1.0.02 build 9 Sep 1, 2011) firmware and otherwise seems to be working fine. Any ideas what could cause this behavior?

    Tried one last thing
    1. Did full factory Reset
    2. Reloaded firmware

  • More DHCP table issues

Okay-- I've given up on the fact that it takes 2+ hours for the DHCP table on my E4200 to completely fill in with all the devices connected to my network, but maybe someone has a solution to this new issue:
When I click on DHCP table to display all the devices on my Local Network, it does list all the connected devices but some (5%) of the entries do not have have an entry in the CLIENT NAME field. The field is blank.  It does show the IP address, the MAC address, etc, but some of the devices do not appear to grab a name.
I talked to tech support at the various device manufacturers and they all said it is up to the router to grab the device name.  My question: If the E4200 does not grab the client name from a device, is there a way to add the name of the device to the DHCP table?  I don't see any obvious editing options.
Thanks in advance for any help.

What version of E4200 are you using? If you have the E4200 v1 , you won't be able to add a name on those devices under DHCP list. But if you have the E4200 v2, you can update it to the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Firmware. There, you can edit the names of those connected devices.

  • Any solution for keeping table length fixed?

Is there a solution for keeping the table length fixed irrespective of the number of lines? We want the tables that run to the end of the page irrespective of the number of rows in the table for our purchase orders, invoices etc.
    We are using RTF templates.

Is that same requirement you ppl had ?

  • How do i view dhcp table in aiport 6.0

Just let Apple upgrade my Airport utility and now I can't find the router's DHCP table.

AirPort Utility 6.0 is really more an AirPort Utility "Lite" application....similar to AirPort Utility for the iPhone and iPad.
You might want to take a look at AirPort Utility 5.6 for your needs. Yes....you can run both 5.6 and 6.0 on your Mac and choose what you want to use at the time.

  • How to clear the DHCP table

BT HomeHub 2 (black one with blue/orange flashing lights)
Is there any simple way of clearing out the entire DHCP table and starting again?
I use Virtual Machines (VM) a lot and every time I use them from the laptop/desktop, the homehub DHCP adds it as a new wired connection.  When I look at the DHCP table, it has
lots of entries with the same machine name and mac address even though the retention period is set to 3 days.
lots of entries of VMs which I haven't used for ages but for some odd reason, their leases get renewed.
entries of machines which were last connected last Christmas but again, their lease has been renewed
lots of expired entries (if it has expired, why keep on to it?)
My guess is that the wireless sometimes fails to connect because all the entries in the DHCP table have been used and it cannot find a free one.
    Problems
When I click on any of the dead entries, the homehub goes into reset mode.  I don't mind going through the entire table one at a time but not if it is going to reset.  Also there are almost 50 entries with the same MAC and machine name.  Quite difficult to remember which one you got to if they cannot be cleared down
If I do a reset, it still remembers all the entries.
If I disable DHCP and reenable it, it still remembers all the entires
I haven't tried changing the DHCP address range yet
Is there any simple way of clearing out the entire DHCP table?

AFAIK, the answer is no, have you tried setting the IP to dynamic when your VM's connect? i.e. always use the same ip address, or can you assign a static ip to a VM....I'm fumbling in the dark here because I don't know enough about using VM's.

  • Clients don't show in DHCP tables

I'm trying to configure port forwarding in a WRT120N, firmware 1.0.01, for a Foscam FI8910W IP camera.  I was successful before on another router and ISP, but I'm having no luck here.  I think the problem may have to do with my DHCP reservation.  On but Setup Basic Setup tab, which I click "DHCP Reservation", the DHCP tables don't show the camera, even though I am actively communicating with the camera wirelessly at the time.  Other wireless devices sometimes appear, sometimes not.  Is this a problem?  Is it a known problem?  Is there a higher release of firmware that addresses it?  Thanks for any help.

Hello, jmp76123. This looks like wireless interference to me. Try adjusting the wireless channel of the WRT120N to either 1, 3, 6, 9, or 11 to reduce this. Play around with the channels until you get the desired setting. By the way, a new firmware (Ver.1.0.07 Build 02) is available on the Linksys website. Hope this helps. Have a nice day ahead!

  • Unusual / Unknown DHCP Table Entry

OK, so was having some issues with wireles printer this evening, still am, but that is a different story.
When I was looking in my DHCP table I noticed that all my entries are nice and neat and start 192..abc.e.f, but I found one entry in there that as below...
    Unknown-54-88-0e-56-63-f2
    54:88:0e:56:63:f2
    10.122.21.114
    00:00:09:01
It doesn't show up as a device either so I can't see a way of blocking it.
I've no idea what it is or where it is coming from, any help would be much appreciated

Its someone connected to your BTWifi hotspot. Note the IP address which is 10.122.21.114, that is an address issued by BT Wifi.
Its totally separate from your own network, so its not a security risk.

  • DHCP table shows only 3 of 4 clients?

Wireless N Gigabit Router WRT310N - Although there are 4 DHCP pc's and 1 fixed-IP printer connected to the router, the DHCP Table only lists 3 IP's, 192.168.1.100, *.102 and *.109.  The fourth shows its IP in a CMD window, with "ipconfig" as *.103.  It connects to the internet and the network printer just fine.
Why doesn't the fourth show in the DHCP client table?
    Thanx.

Tried your suggestion at an administrator command prompt and they both appeared to run successfully.  But no change in the DHCP Client table after refresh and revisit.  The PC is fully networked with the same IP.
What should I look for in the output for "ipconfig /displaydns"?  I see a Time To Live of 86400.  ??
I'm a sr. software engineer and sit in bug fix meetings at least weekly.  The network guys at work don't have an answer.  I agree with a previous post that this looks very much like a firmware bug.  So my interest is not just academic.  This may be an isolated bug, totally benign, or it may be a sign that some other feature/function is not working correctly.  Only Cisco knows.  ??
    Thanx all.

  • DHCP table population on E4200

We've got an E4200 that seems to work pretty well (except with Apple AirPlay).  (latest firmware installed.) However, whenever we have to reboot the router for any reason (i.e.-- changing certain settings), it takes a very, very long time to repopulate the DHCP table.
We have 27 wired and wireless devices on the network.  They appear to get assigned IP addresses quickly (because the devices do work and access the Internet) but the devices do not show up in the DHCP table list.  They slowly appear over a period of hours and hours.
The REFRESH button on the DHCP table updates the entries already in the list but does not add additional items to the list.
Is this normal?  Is there anyway to speed up the process of populating the table? (Live Chat support was absolutely no help)

The DHCP table works the same on both of our computers (desktops running Windows 7).  All the devices in the network were powered on.  It just takes a couple of hours for everything to show up in the DHCP table.  Some devices appear instantly upon a reboot of the router (maybe 5 or 6 devices) but to see the full population takes about 2 hours.
Its not the end of the world, but it seems odd that the IP numbers ARE all assigned right away-- they just take a long time to show up in the table.

  • WRT120N DHCP Tables being fickle

I plug one of my computers or my xbox360 into the router via cable and they connect to the internet fine, they get an ip assigned by dhcp and it works great.  One problem... they don't show up in the dhcp tables!  I have another computer hard plugged that shows up fine and two others that show up after connecting wirelessly.  Even my networked printer shows up.  As long as the xbox connects I guess I don't care but I needed to forward ports to the computer that doesn't show up so I found its mac address and added it to the reserve list manually.  This anomaly is making me go insane trying to figure it out.  A very strange problem indeed...

Seems to be a problem for years. Many routers have this problem. I think on some routers the problem is related with a long host name of the device (which the DHCP client tries to register) or special characters in the host name (e.g. a space).
For port forwarding it is recommended anyway to use static IP address either directly on the computer or through DHCP reservation. Without DHCP reservation you have to change the port forwarding each time the computer gets a different IP address...

    Hi Experts ,
Please look at the decleration below
    types:  BEGIN OF TY_FINAL ,
           TEXT(300) ,
           END OF TY_FINAL .
what is more intresting is that it is not able to hold value in field TEXT with

for example i am trying to store below value

BUT INTERNAL TABLE IS HOLDING value till

  • Linksys E2000 - DHCP Table Issue

    Hi,
I am trying to see what devices are connected to my router be it through LAN or Wireless. However in the DHCP Clients table, all it shows is the LAN connection even by selecting the different "sort" menus. I read on a forum to upgrade firmware to build 7, which it is already on. I did it again to make sure but issue persists. Talking to support, they told me to do a factory reset and then reconfigure router again, which i just did and yet the same issue continues.
Has anyone encountered this same issue and if so, i would be grateful if you could provide me with the resolution.
Is build 7 the latest version of fireware?
    Thanks in advance.
    Chris.

To see my entire wireless clients connected I usually go to Wireless tab then click on Wireless Mac Filter then select the Enabled and click the button for WIRELESS CLIENT LIST
