when i m creating po using bapi_po_create1 ,i am giving item category as 'B' in input, but when the BAPI is saved it is getting saved as 'D' in ekpo table.
i am facing this problem in version 5.0,
but when i am doing the same in ecc 6.0, i am getting the correct output.
plz suggest me any solution,

Hi,
I think it is one and the same. You can check in Table T163. For ex., in table level the normal position type in transaction is blank ( EPSTP ) whereas in table it is stored as 0 (PSTYP)

1.BAPI is nothing but the RFC enabled function module.
2.You can use BAPI to collect the data from database as well
   as insert & update the database.
   E.g. BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_GETDETAIL for collecting info regarding Business partner.
         BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_CHANGE to modify the database against business partner
         BAPI_BUPA_ADDRESS_ADD to insert the data.
3. You can also use BAPI as RFC Funcrion module.

I Experts, I would like to update the field BANPR with 08 with a BAPI

Hi experts,
I would like to Update the field EBAN-BANPR with 08 (Release Refused). Is there any BAPI through which i can update this field and also it should raise the satandard events : REJECTED / REJECTION_STOP. I did check the BAPI : BAPI_PR_CHANGE, but this will not update that field.Please let me know if you have anything. Please help me.

I have just tried on my system and managed to overwrite the existing price by passing the following parameters.
Import Paramters:
 SALESDOCUMENT - Sales Document Number
 ORDER_HEADER_INX - UPDATEFLAG as 'U'.
 LOGIC_SWITCH - Import Structure - Pass 'X' to LOGIC_SWITCH-COND_HANDL.
Tables:
 CONDITIONS_IN - ITM_NUMBER,
 COND_COUNT, -> Condition counter same as KONV-ZAEHK generally it is '01'
 COND_TYPE,
 COND_VALUE,
 CURRENCY.
 CONDITIONS_INX - ITM_NUMBER,
 COND_COUNT,

 UPDATEFLAG as 'U',
 CURRENCY.

How to populate a custom field of a Std. SAP Tx with BAPI usage 2 Load data

Hi Experts,
For instance, I created a custom field (say, custom_field_1) on a screen of standard SAP tx(say, ME21N) by using screen exit. And in order to populate the data into it (custom_field_1), will use the Function user exits of this Tx(ME23N).
1) In next step, Where Where I have to add this field, apart from appending the same custom field in EKKO/EKPO table or any other related table; Extending the corresponding IDOC or creating a new Custom ÍDOC type? like What about BAPI?
2) If I got a text file with the data (including the data for this custom_field_1 too) and I have been asked to load it into SAP, then, I decided to use BAPI (say, BAPI_PO_CREATE or CREATE1) to create the data, So, How to handle this custom field, I mean, In which BAPI structure I have to pass this custom_field_1 data? ( Iguess, for some BAPIs EXTENSIONIN structures are provided, sorry if am wrong!)

for example if you added field in the VBAP table then you can pass the custome field values like below

User enters a Sales Order on the selection screen, say Order_1.
So, my requirement is to create the Purchase Order - PO, by pulling the data of Order_1.
1 - I need to focus the to populate the Order Customer # into PO's HEADER TEXT

Creation of a service order with repair order type SM03 is not allowed in iw31.

But an error is being displayed saying that the REFURBISHMENT ORDERS CANNOT BE PROCESSED USING BAPI.
ERROR DURING PROCESSING OF BAPI METHODS.
This is while u pass the order type as either ZM03 or SM01or SM02 or SM03.

BAPI's are associated with Business Objects and also they are RFC enabled.
But RFC's are the FM's which can be called from external systems, those FM's can be used in many places based on the applications..

Fields not getting updated in the database through BAPI enhancement

Hi Experts,
I have added 4 custom fields in the transaction FB60. The fields are getting displayed in vendor line item.
I have to fill these fields from an inbound idoc which uses the BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST bapi. I have implemented the BADI BADI_ACC_DOCUMENT to pass my custom fields to the bapi and it is processing correctly by adding the custom field values to the extension table that is getting passed to the standard program of the BAPI from the BADI.
But I think, I have missed to append my fields in one of the standard structures. I have added the fields in BSEG, CI_COBL( which is getting called in BAPICOBL_CI, ACCIT).
Can anybody tell me which other standard structure I should add my custom fields so that it functions properly and gets added to the BSEG table.

BAPI Table Input not passing to R/3 Backend

I am having trouble populating a Table input in my Web Dynpro Java application. I have tried researching this issue on SDN and have attemped many of the solutions with no luck. Here is my code:

I cannot use "NewOrder.setOrder_Partners(Partner)" because Order_Partners is an AbstactList. I have attempted to create this abstract list below but it will not syntactically check:

If I test these same input values above in R/3, the BAPI executes fine. When I test the BAPI from WD, I get the return message " Please enter a Sold-To or ShipTo Party". I can replicate this same message in R/3 if I do not populate the Partner table.
I am also able to see the Partner values I enter when I create a Table is display them in Web Dynpro.
This is frusterating me a great deal and I would greatly appreciate, and rewards, any suggestions or recomendations.

Hi Everyone,
Well, I was finally able to resolve my issue. After debugging the Web Dynpro Application from the ECC BAPI side, I was able to see that the Partner values were failing to be passed to the back-end SAP system. After I restarted the J2EE engine, I was able to create the sales order.
I noticed a couple of interesting things as well:
-You need to fill in the leading zeros for Customer Number (KUNNR) before passing of this value
-The ECC BAPI automatically (atleast in my case) changed the input value of Partner-PartnerRole from "SP" to "AG". This change occurs before the first step in the Debugger is performed. This change, however, does not occur when the BAPI is called from Web Dynpro. Once I edited the Web Dynpro Partner Role input to "AG", I was able to create the sales order.
