Make srue you have got a backup of your files and take it to an Apple Retail Store or reseller.
The MacBook has failed. As your MacBook is in warranty, you will probably receive a new one instead of getting it repaired

Have you restarted holding down the Opt key? That procedure should give you a gray screen with all of the partitions that exist. Then select the SL partition for boot. Also go to System Preferences and Startup Disk, unlock the lock and select the SL partition as the default boot partition, then relock.

The available download is not able to boot your Mac because of the newer hardware in that Mac. When Apple releases an update that has the necessary drivers, you should be able to download it.
The versions provided in Recovery will be able to boot your Mac if you need to reinstall.

b. Boot drive's directory has been corrupted - Repair with Disk Utility.
c. Critical system files are damaged or deleted - Reinstall OS X.
d. The disk drive is physically non-functional - Replace the hard drive.
Note that the information I have provided is what Apple recommends, If other users suggest different solutions than found here, then be sure what they recommend does not impact on your warranty, if any, or ability to get continuing Apple service.

If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
The main difference if you are using Lion or Mountain Lion is that you must first boot from the Recovery HD. Simply boot from the Recovery HD to perform the above.

Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing The Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. So this is a weird one... I recently purchased a used Macbook Pro Retina and the previous owner had upgraded the hard drive for a bigger size. My macbook worked great for a few days but then one night I closed it and the next day when I opened it, it would not turn on. I tried rebooting the battery (SHIFT+CONTROL+OPTION and POWER) then hitting power but NOTHING. At one point, I heard a clicking sound when I would leave the power button down. Then... two days later I push the power button just because and BAM! The screen comes on. (I didn't hear the start up sound, and it wasn't like it restarted.) It was as if the screen brightness was all the way down but then came back. (I kept trying to adjust that too before it turned on).
I don't understand!!! Two days later, same thing happened. Then again, it turned back on a day later.
The only thing I noticed that was weird was when I connected it to my tv with HDMI cable. The laptop screen would freeze and get distorted and I would have to force a restart (the black screen with the apple would appear and the loading bar as if I would updating the software).
I'm soooo confused and I don't want this to keep happening. I would appreciate any type of help or advice!!

ISight won't turn off on MacBook Pro retina

So I went to turn on my 13" MacBook Pro Retina and the stupid iSight green light is on. I've done a SMC reset and a PRAM reset. I've restarted my computer. I've shut my computer down completely. I've shut my computer down completely and let it sit for a few minutes. I've shut down my computer and let it sit overnight before turning it back on. This light is really annoying and I don't like that it's running on it's own. No, I don't have any apps that turn on with my computer that use it either. I've done all the troubleshooting that I can and I've chatted with Apple support. It's finals week and I don't have time to go to the Genuis Bar to fix this problem. Can someone please help me turn off this annoying, dumb green light?

This procedure may show which program is using the camera. It makes no changes, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
