Hi, I switched over my region because I recently moved but, when I try to purchase things it's telling me that I am still in my old region and what I need to purchase is not available in my store.

What exactly do you mean; "I switched over my region because I recently moved out".??
Region Changes are specific to: Country/Regions
Unless you are out of your specific Country/Region; iTunes will detect your WAN IP Address as being in your original defualt region..
