A year ago I brought a 1 TB hard drive (My Passport), I have not used it for over 4 months and now when I use the USB cord to connect it to my mac, it does not register the hard drive. Does anyone know why this is happening?
The beeps could be caused by something as simple as a loose internal wire or connection. If it is under warranty (not sure how long that is, as WD drives range from 1 to 5 years depending on the model's series - I think "my passport" drives are 3 years) you could contact WD and ask them about it.
If it is out of warranty, you could also try opening the case and check the connections - the drive may be fine, and there have been posts on TomsHardware forums of people getting the beeps, opening up the case and the drive is fine, just some wire worked loose. -
Received a message that my start up disk is almost full. Where do I locate my start up disk / files and how do I know what i can delete from this folder to make more space?
Start up disk is the main, and only, internal disk of your computer.
I hope you know what you saved on it, so you also know what can be removed -

Open a new Finder window, Finder > File > New Finder Window, and it should appear on the left under Devices.
If you don't see it there, or to get it to show up on the Desktop: Finder > Preferences... General tab, check External disks to have it show on the Desktop, Or Sidebar tab, check External disks under DEVICES. -
My start up disk needs more space and I have tons of photos on my computer that I want to transfer to my external hard drive and remove from my computer to free up space. How can I do this and make sure all my photos are still properly saved and transferred. I dont need to transfer my whole iPhoto library just some really old albums.

After confirming that all your stuff is on the drive, delete the photos you have copied. You will need to empty the iPhototrash to free up the space. -

Back up all data. Open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the Keychain box. You'll be prompted to keep or delete the keychain items. Choose to delete and confirm. Then re-check the box. Follow one of the procedures described in this support article to set up iCloud Keychain on an additional device. Test. -
On my I Pad I am getting a message tha says "Your Apple ID has been disabled". Nothing else. I have not tried to log in so I don't know why this is happening. How do I get it enabled?

Always want to keep the boot drive with more free space than may seem necessary for performance and to function at its best, 30-40% free or even 50% is not excessive.
Ideal is to separate your system from your data.
You should always have bootable backup / clone of your system
Don't use a green drive for system or data though.
When you are done cloning system and/or data, remove the old original and keep as backup.
Then move the system drive to #1 - no matter what you want to reset the default boot volume to where the system is.

By staying with 10.5.8 you are not going to receive security updates, might want to consider 10.6.8. -
I don't know the name of it but a toolbar at the top of the window has disappeared after I restarted Firefox. It contained add-ons such as Download Helper and I don't know how to get it back. Please help. Thanks!

But in the process seems to have duplicated the iTunes library - How do I get rid of one. The start up disk is almost full and plus it doesn't synch properly with my iPhone 4S. Please help!

You should run repair disk from your software install DVD before you try anything else. The crash may have damaged some of your directories - and a possible cause of the "missing/not missing" tunes.

I just bought myself a brand new apple MacBook Pro yesterday. Today while using it it has froze on me twice for no apparent reason. Does anyone know why this is happening?
Or have it replaced. Unless you've added a bunch of strange stuff, this shouldn't happen to a brand new one. Let your local Apple Store get you going with a MBP that works perfectly.

Sometimes the contacts in certain groups are removed and the group is empty. They do not get deleted, and are still in All Contacts, just get removed from the group. Then I have to start all over again and add contacts to the groups. This seems to happen randomly and I don't know why it does. My contacts are synced with my Yahoo contacts. I don't know if thats why. Does this happen to anyone else?

I have an iMac using OS X 10.4.11. Beginning several days ago, all incoming emails have, after the usual email header and before the message appears, one to two pages of technical data (e.g., Dkim-Signature, Domainkey-Signature, Content-Transfer-Encoding, etc.). That just sounds like the mail headers. Most people don't know (or care) about them so they're usually hidden.
Check Mail -> Preferences -> Viewing -> Show header detail
I'm guessing it's set to 'All'. Switch it to 'Default' or None as you prefer. -
Don't know why my iCloud Storage is gone. Help!
iCloud Storage Error
I try to free up all my devices that use iCloud for backup.
As you can see, the total size is just 663.1MB.
and I do backup only the stuffs like Keynote, Pages and Mail which takes only, 125.2MB, 723.9KB and 78KB.
I don't backup Camera Roll at all.
The total space I am using should be 790MB maximum.
But iCloud service notified me that the available space is only 71MB left.
I am okay to upgrade if it is more logical. I don't know how they count space.
Any ideas/ help ?I have the same issue. I have no backups on my Ipad, iPhone on icloud, only 124,8MB of Pages, Numbers and Preview documents, 5,9MB of icloud mail and th rest should only be what's ticked, ie. Contacts, iCal, Notes. And out of 5GB I have 444Mb free space. What takes up the rest? And from yesterday, when it was still 660 MB it shrank to this 444MB.
Any ideas?
