i am practising Obiee labs i got these problem, Time series error
I created Time Series measure in my Fact and saved with out error it thou,In answer when i selected those columns to compare with Dollar iam getting these Error
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 14026] Unable to navigate requested expression: Ago(Dollars:[DAggr(SalesFacts.Dollars by [ Periods.Month Code, Periods.Year] )], [Level Month], 1). Please fix the metadata consistency warnings. (HY000)
SQL Issued: SELECT Periods."Year" saw_0, "- SalesFacts".Dollars saw_1, "- SalesFacts"."Change Month Ago Dollars" saw_2, "- SalesFacts"."Percent Change Month Ago Dollars" saw_3 FROM SupplierSales ORDER BY saw_0

Im very new to this so if i ask abit stupid question you know why. Ive tried to read abit around in reagards to this error but im confused.

So the code looks like this when i try to run AGO function month ago :
AGO("Dev Nordea BI"."Transactions Fact"."Org Trans Amount Sum", "Dev Nordea BI"."Time Dim"."Month", 1)
This gives me the error when i run the request in Answers :
"To use AGO function, the storage level of the query ('[Time.Dimension Key]') must be a static level. (HY000)"
If i try to use the keys in the dimensions, and not the year, quarter, month, day dimensions like this :
Ago("Dev Nordea BI"."Transactions Fact"."Org Trans Amount Sum" , "Dev Nordea BI"."Time"."Calendar Month Name" , 1)
I get error in the reposiotory saying :
[nQSError: 27009] Unresolved identifier: "Dev Nordea BI"."Time"."Calendar Month Name".
The different format for the columns are :
Calender year name : "2008"
Calender quarter name : "Q1 2008"
Calender month name : "OCT 2008"
Day : "2006/02/17 00:00:00"

You better search for the notes with the message ""Time series does not exist". You will get nearly 18 notes. Go through each note and see the relevence to your problem and do the needful as it is mentioned in the note .
Few notes are:

That error is because you have not set up your time dimension properly. Did you perhaps use the OBIEE extract() function to derive your dimension?
If so you should create a view or table instead and the error should go away.

In SNC system, the supplier is getting the following error when he is trying to update the planned receipt quantity.
Due to that error the ASN canu2019t be created and sent to ECC system.

Please give your inputs as to how to resolve this error.

This is not related to time series data issue.
ASN (ASN number:122593)XML failed may be because of there no Purchase order(Reference order) exists for supplier 0000104466 which will be there in failed XML.(see the DespatchedDeliveryNotification_In XML check XML tag <PurchaseOrderReference> value under tag <Item>)
Login as a supplier 0000104466 and search for purchase order (or replenishment order) and this PO(or RO) won't be there in supplier 0000104466 .
That's why ASN got failed.

Hi, We are implementing APO 5.0. I am trying to Create Time series objects for Planning Area 9ASNP05, but getting the following Run Time Error
We have used Support Package 10
Runtime Errors         PERFORM_TOO_MANY_PARAMETERS
Exception              CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_NOT_FOUND
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_NOT_FOUND', was
not caught in procedure "RSS_TEMPLATE_INSTANTIATE" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is: A PERFORM was used to call the routine "INSTANTIATE" of the program
"GP_MET_RSSG_HEADER_COMMENT".
This routine contains 15 formal parameters, but the current call
contains 16 actual parameters.

I am getting exactly the same error, on SCM 5.0 SR2, running on Windows 2003 64 BIT & SQL 2000.
Conditions for error:

Select: Planning Object Structures
Short Dump occurs if you either:
1. Attempt to deactivate an active Planning Object Structure
2. Attempt to create a Characteristic Combination

Excel dynamic time series errors

Has anyone bumped into the problem recently that the Dynamic Time Series is not being recognized on some pc's but works fine on another? I have seen this a couple of times and I can't figure out if it is the Excel version or a problem with the add-in. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What do you mean it won't retrieve on some machines?Does it give you an error or just come up with #missing or blank. Or does it calculate but the numbers are wrong.What version on Essbase and Excel are you using. What is the error message and number.Is the client add-in the same patch as the server. Error: Inappropriate data for continuous time axis while displaying in Time-series Line in OBIEE

I wanted to use time series line in my analysis but I couldn't get What kind of data is required for this graph? It shows inappropriate data for continuous time axis. I had total amountmin vertical axis and time(year) in horizontal axis.

TODATE time series function in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I have a problem with time series function. I have month level in time dimension hierarchy.
I have used below expression to get month to date results in my reports.
column
expression----> TODATE(fact.measure, hierarchy.Month level);
when i am using this column in my reports it is showing null values. The below error i am getting in view log files
----------------> Converted to null because it's grain is below query's grain
Note: Here i have measures, year,qtr,month,day,shift,hour in single physical table in physical layer.
Is it a problem to have measures and time columns in a single physical table?
Please let me know if you have any solution.

Issue in new macro calculating values in time series in CVC

Hi friends.
I'm new in APO.
I have a problem with a new macro in CVC which calls up a FM to calculate and store data.
This new macro calculates the selected data in time series (TS) and e.g. we select 3 days to make calculation with this macro, the first selected day in TS is ignorated.
We created this macro to do this calculation when user enter some manual values and want it to be calculated in the deliver points in CVC, by TS.
This macro calls up my Z function which internally calls up a standard FM '/SAPAPO/TS_DM_SET' (Set the TS Information).
Sometimes, this FM, raises error 6 (invalid_data_status = 6), but only when I user 'fcode_check' rotine together.
After that, we call the FM '/SAPAPO/MSDP_GRID_REFRESH' in mode 1 and 'fcode_check' rotine in program '/sapapo/saplmsdp_sdp'.
Firstly, I thought it could be dirty global variables in standard FM so I put it inside a program and called it by submit and return command. But now I think could not be this kind of error because it did not work. And inverted the results, and now only first line os TS get storted and change in CVC.
It's a crazy issue. Please friends. Guide me for a solution!

Hi friend. Issue still without a correct solution yet.
A friend changed the macro adding another step calling the same function. Now this macro has two calls in sequence to same FM. Now it's working, but we can't understand why it's working now.
It's seems like dirty memory in live cash.
Nobody knows how to solve this!

OBIEE 11g Time Series Function

Hi All,
I am trying to compare this year to date sales to last year to date sales and this code is not working:
TODATE(<Measure>,<Time_Level>) For bellow syntax we are getting an error Formula syntax is invalid.
TODATE("Fact - Sales Order Lines"."Net Ordered Amount", "Time"."Enterprise Year").
Is the above example wrong?. Please provide one example for Time level value.
Actually what should be the value for second parameter (Level)

<<Measure>> represents the logical measure column from which you want to derive. In this example, you would select the measure "Dollars" from your existing logical fact tables.
<<Level>> is the time series grain you want to use. In this example, you would select "Quarter" from your time dimension.

Time series functions are not working for fragmented logical table sources?

If i remove that fragmented logical table sources, then its working fine.

is because the time series function are not supported for the framentation content, see the content of the oracle support:
The error occurs due to the fact the fragmented data sources are used on some Time series measures. Time series measures (i.e. AGO) are not supported on fragmented data sources.
Confirmation is documented in the following guide - Creating and Administering the Business Model and Mapping Layer in an Oracle BI Repository > Process of Creating and Administering Dimensions
Ago or ToDate functionality is not supported on fragmented logical table sources. For more information, refer to “About Time Series Conversion Functions” on page 197.

How to use dynamic time series in formula

I have Time dimension with active Dynamic Time Series for Y-T-D.
I'd like to use it in member formula - e.g. IF (@ISMBR("Y-T-D(Aug)")) - but this doesn't work as I get error message Unknown variable or member name.
Any idea how to work with dynamic time series members in formula?
Still using Essbase 6.5 X-(.

As Glenn mentioned, I also don't believe you can reference a DTS member in a formula, you would have to calc the YTD. Take a look at the @PTD function to calc Period to date numbers, I believe this function was available in v6.
Having said that, we're assuming you want to calc a ptd number, but your example was based on an IF @ISMBR(). So the question becomes what are you trying to do? Given what I assume your time dim looks like, what would be the difference between @ISMBR("Y-T-D(Aug)") and @ISMBR("Aug")

Time series functions are not working in OBIEE for ESSBASE data source

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in OBIEE as I am getting error messages for measure columns with Time series functions(Ago,ToDate and PeriodRolling) in both RPD and Answers.
Error is "Target database does not support Ago operation".
But I am aware of OBIEE supports Time Series functions for Essbase data source.
using Hyperion 9.3.1 as data source and obiee 11.1.1.5.0 as reporting tool.
