Hidden login items not working

Hello I currently have both messages and email open at startup. I wanted to make them open without opening a window so i selected "hide" in login items; however, for some reason this does not work. I got email to hide but messages wouldn't. But now messages will hide and email will not.

Instead of dragging, click on the + button, navigate to Quicksilver, and add it.

From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Login page not working in EBS R12 after autoconfig.

Norton Login is not working with the upgrade from firefox. Not too happy about this

I upgraded to the new firefox. I have a lap top with vista windows.
Norton Login does not work with this version. Can you please explain to me how to fix this problem. Much preferred the last version of firefox.

JQuery "setting all items to READONLY based on a page item" not working

I am attempting to use jQuery to set all input fields to "readonly" if the question is in "locked" status (i.e., if P2_QUESTION_LOCKED page item is set to yes ("Y")). The following is the code that I placed in the page attributes (in the javascript section):

Show/hide item not working

Hi,
I've designed a relatively detailed survey with multiple show/hide items, and all of a sudden they're not working despite all of the show/hide criteria being correct. Items are being shown for no reason.
Can someone help me?

After looking at the form I have concluded that the show/hide logic is inverted. You have fields set to be hidden if the answer to a drop down is not 0%. The problem is that the default value of the field is null, not 0%. The condition is met, so the fields are displayed. The fix is to switch the show/hide logic to Show is the answer is 5%, 10%, 15% etc.

Non-hidden login items cannot be deselected when clicking desktop

I have 2 login items (terminal and Firefox) if either or both is not hidden then after logging in I cannot get the Finder menu bar to appear when clicking the desktop background. If both are hidden then I can get the Finder menu to so appear.
This just seems like a silly bug to me. I looked in vain for how to report this to Apple but was unable to find out how to (I am registered on ADC but haven't looked there yet)

To report bugs to apple, go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ and select your product (in this case OS X). Select Bug Report under feedback type and include all of the details. As for the actual problem...I have no idea why it is happening!

Application Item Not Working as Bind Variable in Region Source

I've created an application variable - APP_AC_CODE - a value for which - PA1 - I set as part of the column link on page A that branches to page B.
I use APP_AC_CODE as part of a region title on page B - &APP_AC_CODE. Parameters - which evaluates successfully to 'PA1 Parameters'.
However when I try to use APP_AC_CODE on the same page as part of the SQL query that drives the report for that region it fails to retrieve any records.
If I set the region source to:
SELECT idi FROM v_parameters WHERE aircraft_code = :APP_AC_CODE ;
then it fails but if I explicitly state the where clause:
SELECT idi FROM v_parameters WHERE aircraft_code = 'PA1' ;
then it works just fine and retrieves the records as expected.
If I check the session state then the right value is assigned to APP_AC_CODE; if I check debug then it shows the right value - binding: ":APP_AC_CODE"="APP_AC_CODE" value="PA1". Also, it displays fine as a substitution string.
I'm very confused. I'll be very grateful if someone can shed a little light. I expect I'm doing something stupid - new user and all that - but I haven't got a clue what that is.

I don't know if I'm making progress with the problem but I've tried adding a hidden page item, setting that value from page A and using it from page B with the same results. Check the session state, the debug messages, or use it as a substitution variable and the right value is there.
I then tried setting the value of the page item with the value of the application item and (according to session and debug) the right value ends up in the page item. Still didn't work though.
I then created a new page (using the sql report wizard in case I was doing something wrong manually) and tried using the application item in the same way with the same problem.
Given that no records are being returned I assume that the database server doesn't care for the SQL query it sees. Is there a way of seeing what this is? When I look at the debug messages, all I see is 'parse query' and 'binding' messages. Any way I can see what the database server eventually sees?

SOME FUNCTIONS BEHIND MENU/TOOLBAR ITEMS NOT WORKING

In application the toolbar button 'new record' and 'next record' are not
working. The associated menu items also not work.
When copying same set of binaries to another directory with another forms
listener then everything is ok. So the problem is not in the fmx's.
Most menu/toolbar items do work only those two have problems.
Any suggestions?

The problem was probably due to a connection error.
Nothing to do with designer or headstart.

Dynamic Action on item not working in APEX 4.2.1

Created Dynamic action on item(Radio based on LOV) to show/ hide other items (event is Change). But its not working. I mean nothing happening onchange ..

Based on the Radio item value "a" (Y/N) i am showing or hiding items b and c. All these items are in same region.
Output seen : By default all the items are displayed and no action on changing the value of the radio item a.

we are trying to get the output at item level in the sales order.we click on the line item and give a print out..but it is showing details of other line items as well. is there a ways we can get a printout for only the selected line items.
what we did.
1. maintained a output type for item category
2. assigned the output type tot he item category.
but still this is not working the way we want. do we need to use a different print program for the item level printing...

I think this is not possible through standard, but I can suggest if you can seek help from your technical guys asking if it is possible through output routines what we maintain in the output determination procedure....
Give him the requirement and ask him if he can create a custom routine for this.....

Caching AD login credentials not working with 10.5.5

Hello all,
We are trying to add our Mac clients running OSX 10.5.5 as workstations in our Windows Domain (we are running AD in Windows 2003 native mode). I can add the Mac workstation to authenticate against the domain but login will only work if the Mac client is connected to our network.
On a Windows laptop that is a member of the domain, if you are off the network and it can't reach a domain controller it will used cached credentials.
I read that this should work in chapter 6 titled "Active Directory Integration" in the document linked off of Apple's site named "Leveraging Active Directory on a Mac OS X".

Here are the steps I followed to add the Mac client to the domain.
1. On the Mac go to "Applications" --> "Utilities"
--> "Directory Utility".
2. Click on "Services" and check off the Active Directory
plugin.
3. Double click the Active Directory plugin and enter in the
following
"Active Directory Forest:" Leave as default
"Active Directory Domain:" wheatonma.edu
"Computer ID:" computername_here
View the Advanced Options and enter in the following.
Under "User Experience" check the "force local home directory on startup disk" option.
I selected the Create mobile account at logon field so that Mac users can logon
with cached credentials when they can't reach a domain controller or are away from the network.
I deselected the Require Confirmation field, because I want all the Mac users on this machine
to use mobile accounts.
Also uncheck the next option "Use UNC path from Active Directory to derive network home location"
Also uncheck the "Default user shell".
Under the "Mappings" tab check off "Map UID to attribute" and change the attribute to "sAMAccountName".
Under the "Administrative" tab uncheck the option "Prefer this domain server".
Also under this tab make sure the "Allow Administration by:" option is checked
off and the following 3 entries should be added (along with the new owner of the mac)
WC\domain admins
WC\enterprise admins
WC\bgibson
Click "Bind" and it will ask you for the local admin's password, enter it.
It will then ask you for the following
Username: Enter in the domain admin username
Password: Active Directory password for the user above.
Computer OU: ou=wheatonmacintoshclients,dc=wheatonma,dc=edu
Check off the option named "use for authentication" and uncheck the "use for contacts". Hit "OK".
4. Exit out of the Directory Utility and reboot the computer. Login using the "other" name
and enter in your domain username and Active Directory password.
We do not want to setup an Open Directory and sync data from our domain controllers. All we really need is the ability for the Mac client to authenticate into the system.

Hi Templeton, thanks for the suggestion. I had been on that site before. I had called Apple as part of our school's support package and they had suggested that we look at that site... I should have mentioned it earlier. I have the new 10.5.5 laptop binding to AD okay but only when it is plugged into the network. It still will not cache the credentials for when I am offline and trying to login.

Login button not working on Applicatin Express Login screen

I'm trying to upgrade default apex version that comes with xe to apex 3.2.1. I've listed down the steps I followed to upgrade apex.
After following all the steps, I'm able to login to my application, however not able to login to apex workspace using url http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/ as the login button is not working.
Also there is no image for Application Express on the top of the page. I did try http://127.0.0.1:8080/i/ and it returns list of images.
Below are the steps I followed to upgrade apex
1. Downloaded apex_3.2.1.zip to C:\Software
2. unzip apex_3.2.1.zip to C:\Software\apex
3. started command prompt and set these variables
set ORACLE_HOME=C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server
set ORACLE_SID=xe
set ORACLE_PATH=C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\bin

Login items not saved

I haven't read about this one yet so I thought I should at least mention it. Since my upgrade to 10.9 the login items for my (admin) user account are not being saved. After a reboot the list is empty again. I have re-entered them several times but that just seems a bit pointless now Also repaired permissions on the OS X drive, just for good measure but to no avail. Login items are Mail, Messages and just one third party app: Google Chrome.
So.... Bug or something else I should try?

This happened to me from an out-the-box mac without any 3rd party software installed which makes me think this is a mavericks issue as opposed to anything else installed after.

"Filter Finder Items" not working properly

I'm taking my first crack at Automator, and while I've made good progress, one of the built-in actions, "Filter Finder Items", is just not behaving predictably. Basically, I'm doing the following:
1) Get selected finder items - pulls a selected folder
2) Set variable - this gives me a variable for the name of the folder we're working with
3) Create a new folder inside the selected folder
4) Get folder contents of selected folder
5) Filter for three different file extensions - here's where my problem starts
6) Move the filtered files into the new subfolder (though it really seems to be copying, which necessitates the following steps to get rid of the original files)
7) Get contents of selected folder again
8) Filter on the same three files extensions - this time it works properly
9) Move filtered files to Trash
For some reason, the first filter action doesn't seem to be working at all - if I have 15 files in the selected folder, but only three that match the filter, all 15 will be copied to the new subfolder. The second folder action will then, inexplicably, work exactly as it should and move the proper files to the Trash.
Does anybody know why this action doesn't want to cooperate? Has anybody else seen something similar?

Saving the workflow as an application should be all that is needed, but the first action (the one that gets the items to work with) may not be correct for your usage. If the first action is *Get Selected Finder Items*, unfortunately the selection would be the application itself, since that is what was most recently selected.
In this case, the application can be dragged onto the Finder's toolbar (where it will work with the current selection), otherwise the first action can be removed and the application used as a droplet (items dropped onto the application are passed to the workflow) or a Finder plugin.
The first action can also be replaced with an *Ask for Finder Items* action (ignoring input).
