Hide Blog Author in blog list view

I have a list of 30posts for a particular blog and I want to hide the author for this so I only have title and date down the list. I'm using the blog view for articles written by heaps of different people and don't want them creditied to the administrator for example.
Thanks

In some cases you may want to hide the author in module_blogsitesummary, while still showing the author on the main blog layout (template).
One way is to use CSS like this, as module_blogsitesummary uses .author and .date in it's layout. One catch, you need to reference it with another class or ID, like .mysidebar for example. Otherwise the date picker would not dispaly as it uses .date for its style.
.mysidebar .author {
            display:none;
or
.mysidebar .author, .mysidebar .date {
            display:none;

    How to Hide some Rows in a List view Web Part using JavaScript ?

     Here is the code that worked for me:
    var Elements = document.querySelectorAll('div[id=WebPartWPQ3] table[class=ms-listviewtable]>tbody tr .ms-vb-lastCell.ms-cellstyle.ms-vb2')
    for(var i=0, n = Elements.length; i < n; i++)
     if(Elements[i].innerHTML=="India")
    Elements[i].parentNode.setAttribute("style","display:none")
    WebPartWPQ3 -> ID of webpart Div
    ms-listviewtable -> class name of table in Div
    ms-vb-lastCell.ms-cellstyle.ms-vb2 -> classname of td to get text

  • Hide "more" button in a list view, only works for first item in the list

    I have the following code in a list view that outputs several dozen items in a web app.  The code only works for the first item, how can I make it loop through and execute the test for each item in the list view?  The {tag_hide more button} is a checkmark field that yields a numeric 1" if checked otherwise yields a numeric "0".
    <div id="more-option">
            <p class="right"><a href="{tag_itemurl_nolink}" class="btn btn-small btn-very-subtle">More &rarr;</a></p>
          </div>
          <div class="more-selection" style="display: none;">{tag_hide more button}</div>
          <script>
    if ($(".more-selection").text() == "1") {
        $("#more-option").hide();
    </script>

    What's the URL for the site where you are using this?  Offhand, it looks like it should work with your first example so you are either placing the script before those elements are loaded or you might try wrapping your current javascript inside the:
    $(document).ready(function() {
    --- your existing javascript here
    This make sure the code runs once all the html is loaded on the page.  Without seeing a URL and debugging with the js console in Chrome I can't give you a solid answer.
    But, I do know that you can probably do this with a lot less markup.  Once we figure out what the actual problem is I have a better solution mocked up for you on jsfiddle.
    When looking at my HTML code on jsfiddle, please realize I setup some dummy HTML and removed your tags and added actual values which would be output by your tags.  The main thing I did was remove the whole div.more-selection and instead, added a "data-is-selected" attribute on your div.more-option element.  Then, in my javascript for each div.my-option element on the page, we loop through them, find the value of that data attribute and hide that div if it's less than 1 (or 0).
    Here's the fiddle for you to look at:  http://jsfiddle.net/thetrickster/Mfmdu/
    You'll see in the end result that only two divs show up, both of those divs have data-is-selected="1".
    You can try pasting the javascript code near the closing </body> tag on your page and make sure to wrap my js inside a <script> tag, obviously.  My way is neater on the markup side.  If you can't get it to work it's likely a jquery conflict issue.  My version is using the $(document).ready() method to make sure all the code is loaded before it runs.
    Best,
    Chris

  • Edit the Posts list view web part in a Blog site

    Hi,
    We found the great post vow to add a custom property (for example sub title) to blog posts view using jslink.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sharepointdevelopersupport/archive/2013/04/09/how-to-add-a-custom-field-to-blog-posts-in-sharepoint-2013.aspx
    It works in the Home page of the blog, but we want the property to be displayed in any post view.
    In order to display a column it has to be checked to be displayed at the view settings in the web part, but in the page posts.aspx there is no option to "Edit the current View".
    Any ideas?
    thanks a lot

  • Is it possible to delete a users blog list without having to delete the entire user profile?

    Hello,
    The problem I have is that a users blog entries have become corrupted, if you view his entries the page displayed is completely unrendered.
    I'm not able to add a screen shot, but imagine if you will a loaded page, with no formatting, basically a plain html page, if that makes any sense!
    If I or anyone else look at his blogs, the pages once again look unrendered, if he looks at another persons blog, it renders fine. So, it just looks like his (and his alone) blog list has some how or other been corrupted.
    Is there a way to just delete the blog without having to delete his entire profile and get him to start all over again? The user doesn't mind losing his blog entries but would rather not have his whole profile deleted.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    There will be a “Post” list in that user’s MySite storing all the blogs that below to that user, we can delete all the blogs in that list if with sufficient permission in that
    user’s MySite.
    Best regards,

  • Web App Blog List

    I'd like to be able to have a tag that renders the list view of my web app as well as the list view from my blog. How can I have it so it shows the newest for each together?

    Hey there, You need to use modules:
    Here are the modules you have for blogs to use throughout your site.
    http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/134/bc_1345.html?bc-partner#main_Blog_Modules
    Here is what you have for web apps:

    In the admin you can also use the module manager to insert varius modules.

    My file names have disappeared in grid view. Thery have been replaced with a dark bar along the bottom of the previews. If I toggle using the command u it hide the bar but I still can't see the file name. In list view all the file names are OK.

    The dark bar is caused by the option "Show metadata below image".
    Check the settings for the metadata overlays in Grid view (basic and expanded) by clicking the little "badge" icon below the Browser and selecting "Edit". Is the filename still enabled in the list? And in a high enough position to have precedence for other metadata tags, if the space does not suffice to show all selected tags?

  • Blog as homepage; former blogs listed?

    I would like my blog to be my home page, with the entire current blog showing and former blogs listed either on that page or elsewhere. In other words, the current blog would be easily accessible, without clicking two times to get to it (similar to Blogger and Wordpress). I love everything else about iWeb and MM, including the gallery, so don't want to switch. However, the (Blogger/Wordpress) format would work better for my blogs. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

    I am really interested in how to do this as well. Any suggestions?
    There is no way to make iWeb's blog do the things which lots of people prefer in Blogger and Wordpress, and it's not realistic to think this will change. So use Blogger or Wordpress and either link to it or put it in an iframe on an iWeb page.

  • Increment a new Column in a Blog List using Worlflow

    I would like to first say that I need specific instruction, as I do not know how to accomplish this.  I know how to create a simple workflow, but having it to do what I describe below is beyond my current ability.  I hope someone
    can help.
    The Scenario:
    Blog list Sorted by the Modified date.
    The users want the most recent post (including Comments) at the top of the list.
    When a user adds a Comment to the Blog Site, the Modified date does not update (since both lists are separate.)
    Partial Solution:
    I created a new Column in the Blog list called Comment Increment.
    My Goal:
    I would like to write a workflow that will increase the Comment Increment by 1 each time a Comment is added, thus, updating the Modified date on the Blog post.
    Thanks for any help.

    OK, so this does not work either norasampang.
    The issue still remains that the POSTS and COMMENTS lists are separate.  They each have a MODIFIED column.  I can sort them independently of each other by the MODIFIED column, but on the main Blog site, if a comment is added to a post, it does
    not move to the top of the BLOG list, which is essentially a Web Part.
    Maybe one day I'll find a solution.  I have been unable to find anyone to see me through to a solution.
    Thanks for trying norasampang.

  • Hide footer in List View web part

    I've created a custom content type for a custom list (News stories.) I can add the custom list to my page as a list view web part and display only the latest article, but it also displays "1-1" at the bottom of the web part. I'm able to cycle through
    the news stories by hitting "1-1" (changes to "2-2", etc...), but I'd like to have the option of taking it out completely.

    Found how to remove header as well.
    <br><style><br
    />  tr.ms-viewheadertr {<br />  display:
    none<br
    />  }<br /></style><br>

  • List View filtered by multiple params (one from cookie) - works fine when groups are expanded initially, but hides filtered items when collapsed and then expanded.

    Hello!
    I have a page with a list view web part. I am applying multiple filter parameters to it: I have to display documents for all US locations (general) and also filtered view of documents for user's office location. I am setting the user location Cookie and
    i have configured webpart with Param to read it. Second filter value is hard-coded (Non-specific location). It all works FINE when i set the list View to expand all groups by default.  The problem starts when I set it to be collapsed from the start:
    Collapsed group shows correct number of items to be inside but when i expand it, the 1 extra LOCAL item filtered by {PARAM}  is missing from inside this expanded group. Only items filtered by a "hardcoded text param" are being shown.  And
    again - when i change the view and set it to be expanded by default - ALL items are being shown without any problem! Only thing that breaks it - setting of collapsed-expanded for this view groups. nothing else.
    Any suggestion on how to work with this thing?
    I can't make all groups expanded by default - too many documents, but it only time when it works.
    I tried changing view design, other characteristics, but nothing makes it change the behavior so far.
    I really want o avoid creating custom "hardcoded" views for each location where location is predefined instead of dynamically read it from cookie. For me it looks like something is connected with PARAM as only these items are affected by this weird
    behavior. Thank you in advance!

    Hi Olga
    I have tried the method you have mentioned, but the jquery function is not working to collapse the groups.
    I have tried 2 approaches, but none of them is working fully:
    1) Raising the Click event as follows
    for (var i = 0; i < links.length; i++)
                         if (links[i].href == "javascript:" && links[i].onclick.toString().indexOf("ExpCollGroup")
    > -1)
                               links[i].click();
    2) ExpCollGroup()
    Please suggest or send the correct method to collapse
