  • Is there a way to expand the text area of the login/lock screen for the warning message?

    I put our company's standard warning message in the Security & Privacy system preference ("Show a message when the screen is locked.") and it overflowed the allotted text area for the warning message text on the login screen and lock screens.  It seems that the area allows about 250 character messages and I need to provide about 500 characters.  Is there any way to expand the text area allotted for this purpose?

    To be a little more specific about the challenge I'm facing, I want to increase the allotted text space for the field I've outlined in the attached image.  Seems like there ought to be a NIB file that could be edited to accomplish this task:
    I would appreciate any advice on which file should be edited to expand the text field.

    This is a user to user support forum.  We are all iphone users just like you.
    You are not addressing Apple here at all.
    This is an odd way to ask your fellow iphone users for help. Berating oterh users will not help you.
    "it's too fragile"
    No it is not.  i have never damaged one, nor has anyone I know.
    " U loose data when Ur phone is locked"
    No you don't.  Why do you think this?
    "and there is no customer support!!!  "
    Wrong yet again.  Apple has an 800 number and they have many retail stores and they have support articles that you can access using the search bar. Or you can contact them throgh express lane online

    Please do.

  • Hide/disable certain areas from the Overview page of ESS in portal

    HI All,
    We have a requirement where we need to hide/disable certain areas from the "Overview" page of ESS in portal.
    In Overview page, we have certain links like Employee search,Life and work events,
    Purchasing and travel and expenses.
    I m not able to find these pages under overview workset also.
    We have to hide 'Purchasing' and 'life and work events' areas from the overview page as the customer dosent want to use this sap standard impl.
    Is the customiztion to be done from portal side or do we need to do it from the IMG??
    Can someone pls tell us in detail how to do it?
    Thanks,
    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek,
    Inorder to hide/diable certain areas from the Overview page of ESS you need to do it from the IMG.
    The detail steps are as follows:
    1) After logging in to your backend, run Transaction code SPRO.
    2) Select the SAP Reference IMG button.
    3) Follow the path: Cross-Application Components >> Homepage Framework >>
    Areas/Sub Areas.
    4) In the Assign SubAreas to Areas OR Assign Areas to Area Group Pages (depending on your requirement), to hide the particular area , set the Position value to 0 for the Area / SubArea that you wish to hide.
    5) After making the changes, Refresh the Portal browser page to reflect the new changes.
    Hope this helps.

  • I just recently upgraded to iOS 7 and found out that i can no longer hide my text messages on the home screen anymore. Can anyone help with this?

    I just recently upgraded my iphone 5 software to ios7 and discovered that i can't hide my text messages as i could previously in ios6.2., can anyone help me out with this?

    I had this problem last night as well.  Only my daughter upgraded to iOS7 and she had an old phone of mine.  When she upgraded, the phone asked for my apple ID and then continued as normal.  However, after the upgrade, any text message that I recieved, she also recieved.  I am pretty sure my wife thought I was hammered when she started texting me and my daughter began answering her not having any clue what she was texting about.  Anyway, this only occurred with texts from other family members, not from texts I received from friends who are obviously not on our account (we have Verizon BTW).  To resolve this issue, and it isn't a short resolution.... there are two options...   One, simply erase everyting on the phone.... I don't like iTunes 11, so we were unable to back up her phone.  I made her go through her 600 photos, delete the ones she didn't want and email the ones she wanted to herself, and then we wiped the phone clean and rebooted it... go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings.  The second option, if you have iTunes 11 is to back up the phones one at a time,  and then go into Settings, General, Reset, Erase All Content and Settings.  Either of these options wipes the phone clean of all information, text contacts pictures etc and then you have to re-enter all of your individual information.  When you do that, make sure that no one is on the same iTunes account.  Theoretically, after you do this, you plug back into your computer and SYNC your phone from the last back-up.  This resolved the problem for us.  I don't know if there is an easier solution, be we tried logging in and out of our iTunes Accounts, turning the power on and off, and nothing changed.  So, we had to go the more difficult route to avoid mass confusion with family texting.

  • SSRS Hide Description text in Report Manager

    Hi
    Does anyone know if you can hide the description text on report manager, this is populated in report properties > Description or can be updated direct in report manager.
    I want to add a description but I do not want it displayed in report manager, is there a way of removing this?
    Thanks

    Hi Monkey14,
    According to your description, you have a report with description. Now you just want to hide the description when accessing the report manager. Right?
    In Reporting Services, we have a css file for Report Manager to set style. Now we just need to modify the style for description box. Please follow the steps below:
    Go to Your Disk:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server[your MSRS instance]\Reporting Services\ReportManager\Styles\ReportingServices.css.
    For your items, the style class name is "msrs-itemDescription":
    p.msrs-itemDescription  { white-space: nowrap; width: 250px; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; font-size:10pt; color:Gray; }
    Add “display:none” in the style. It looks like below:
    Save and preview.
    Reference:
    SSRS 2008r2 cutting off report descriptions in main display page in report manager
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Best Regards,

  • Why ehen appending text file to text area, all the text in 1 line..

              String StrNeeded;
              BufferedReader BR;
              BR=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream("Data.txt")));
              StrNeeded=BR.readLine();
                   while(StrNeeded!=null)
                   TArea.append(StrNeeded);
                   StrNeeded=BR.readLine();
              catch(Exception excep)
    }this is my code m problem is that,
    i read a text file that has many lines, when i read it, i append it into the textarea, but what happend was all the text in my text area is in 1 line only(the other line is also appended but it is appended in the sama line.. help me

    readLine removed the line feed from the end of the line.
    You should append a \n to the end of the line like this:TArea.append(StrNeeded + "\n");Also it's a bad idea to catch an exception and do nothing.
    Add printStackTrace in the catch block.

  • What are all the 'Terminal' Commands?

    I use Terminal for fun with the commands and the killall argument command but i really want to know all the terminal commands so that i am not that bored. I always use the commands i know but they are getting old so please help.
    PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Thanks,
    Andrew.

    The commands are be scattered around the hd.  A command is any file with the execution bit set on.
    The best way to go is to go to your local library and find any book on unix or bash.  There will be some difference between what you read and what is available in X.  the man command should key you in on the differences.
    A book on Bash would be helpful.
    Here is the book that I use:
    Mac OS X Tiger in a Nutshell: A Desktop Quick Reference (In a Nutshell (O'Reilly))
    This is also good & was in my local library.
    Practical Guide to Linux Commands, Editors, and Shell Programming, A (2nd Edition) [Paperback] the book Don't be fooled by the name, the second addition includes Mac OS X.
    Advanced Bash Script. premise: Examples for everything. I have revision 6.2.
    tldp.org/LDP/abs/abs-guide.pdf
    BASH Programming - Introduction HOW-TO
    http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Bash-Prog-Intro-HOWTO.html#toc14
    Apple administrative commands
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/IntroCommandLine_v10.6.pdf
    Apple Shell Scripting Primer
    https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/OpenSource/Conceptual/Shel lScripting/ShellScripting.pdf
    Check you local library. Any book on Bash syntax will do. There will be minor differences but they will not be great.
    Sometimes you can get a good deal on used books in Amazon.

  • Converting FM to PDF results in thumbnail-sized text area in the PDF

    I'm having an issue with converting FM files to PDF. I'm using all the same settings I had been using previously, but now my PDFs appear with the text and images smooshed together in a thumbnail version of the source page. The PDF page size is 8.5 x 11, which is the size of my source FM file. So the thumbnail appears in the middle of a regular sized page in the PDF. (I'm sorry this is difficult to explain what's happening, which is probably why I can't find anything after searching the forums).
    Does anyone know what is going on? I've got an aggressive deadline and troubleshooting this issue is getting me no where.

    To help out in trouble shooting, could you supply details on your FM and Acrobat versions, and your OS?
    Also if you're using the full version of Acrobat, or the limited version that ships with FM.
    And at a really basic level, is your system default printer set to the Acrobat printer.
    And in FM, on the Print dialog box, is there any chance that you have the Thumbnail option activated?

    private void doNumber( int number )
       String S;
        currentNumber = ( currentNumber * 10 ) + number;
        S = Integer.tostring( currentNumber );  //cant remember if that throws anything
       Current.setText( S );  //Display Work Number
      private void doPlus()
        String S;
        total = total + currentNumber;
        currentNumber = 0;
        Current.setText("");
        S = Integer.toString( total );
        Display.setText( S );
      private void doEnter()
        total = currentNumber;
        currentNumber = 0;
        Current.setText( "");
        Display.setText( Integer.toString( total ) );
      private void doDivide()
         System.out.println("Err you got to be kidding");
      }yeh and I'd definitely go for a GridLayout()
    4 * 4, with JLabels for the blank filler parts......
    So does this help

  • Increasing the size of designated text area in a photo book

    I am using IPhoto version 9.5.1 on a MacBook Pro (10.9.2). I am trying to increase the designated text area so that I can increase the font size. This will allow for the final product to be more legible. Currently, I am featuring a student per page. The designated text areas are 4 separate sections on these pages.  I would like to include on each page the following.
    Aviator
    Person's Name
    Algebra I
    Homecoming Dance
    When I increase the font size in those 4 designated areas, the red caution triangle with exclamation point states, 'This text doesn't fit the designated text area!'
    I have two questions.
    1. How do I increase the text area so the larger text will fit and print properly?
    2. Is there an overall command that I can input these increases to the text area so that the 36 papes have the same changes in the designated text areas? Otherwise, I will have to make those changes for each individual pages that are featuring a student.

    Always be sure to create a PDF file of the book for proofing before ordering a book. This Apple document describes how to create the PDF file: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture. Keep the PDF file to compare it with the printed copy when it arrives.
    If you have Pages you can easily create custom book pages as images and add them to a 1 photo per page layout by following this tutorial: iP11 - Creating a Custom Page, with the Theme's Background for an iPhoto Book
