Hide Header Row in Query results.

Good afternoon
Please assist. I have 7 queries in one sheet and would like to hide the header rows from the second to last query. I have hidden the row(s) and then selected "Adjust format after data refresh" in the query properties, but when a query is refreshed, the header row(s) will display again.
Point will be awarded for solution. Thanks
Cj

Hi Cj,
This is little bit simple. All you have to need is to adjust the range of Analysis grid properties.
Steps:
1. Find the position of the last row of your first query.(For example, if your query1 is starting from column F and the last row of the query1 is 21, then query2 should start from the same range F21.
2. After finding the ending position of the query1, goto the properties of the analysis grid item in the design mode.
3. There you find a tab called General in which there will be a check box called 'Range'.
4. There specify the exact starting position of the query2. If your query1 range is from "$F$15:$I$21", then the range for the query2 should be "$F$21:$I$27".
5. This will help to hide the heading row of the succeeding queries .
Hope this helps you. Assign points if it helps you.

Yokesh.

    Hi Sara
I doubt if there is any way where you can hide or disable the header row for the existing file in the application server.
What you may perhaps do is, process the desired output in the program, in such a way that as per the value in the checkbox( whether selected or not) you may delete the first row from the internal table which has the header data from the incoming file.
    Something like this:
    LOOP AT itab INTO wa_itab.
       IF ck_box  = 'X'.
          CLEAR wa_itab.
MODIFY itab FROM wa_itab INDEX sy-tabix.
          EXIT.
       ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
Let me know if you need any further help on this.
    Harsh
    PS:
    1) An empty first line will appear in this case.
    2) Check the code in a test program first.

  • How can I get Numbers to return the first row in a group of VLOOKUP query results instead of last one?

I'm trying to query from one table (call it Table1) a batch of rows in another table (Table2) using VLOOKUP on a date specified in the first table (Table1). My problem is it's returning the last incident in Table2 of the requested date instead of the first incident. This really breaks the OFFSET scheme I'd like to use to collect the rest of the items for that date. Is there some way to compel VLOOKUP to return the first row of query results, not the last?
NOTE: I see I've asked this before, but forgot to go back and look at responses given. It's been a while and I've limped along until now with the way things were. I'm actually trying to delete this questions, so if you see it, ignore it. I suppose if someone can tell me real quick how to delete a stupid question, that might be helpful.

  • Need to hide rows in the Query results with blank values

    Hi All,
We have a requirement like this for Stock Report, we need to display both movements and balance in that report. We display the movement data directly from the Standard cube with input as Fiscal period/year.  When we do like this, we are not able to get the opening balance as fiscal period was in char restrictions pane.
We have created a dummy keyfigure restricted to Fiscal period ( so that the global filter is not applied and get the inventory data irrespective of fiscal period input ). We have created 3 variables of processing type customer exit and acheived calculating opening balance, current movement and closing balance.
If FP input is 009.2010 to 010.2010, it will get whatever Qty moved before 009.2010 ( 001.1990 - 009.2010 in exit ) as opening balance and closing balance ( 001.1990 - 010.2010 )  and the Qty KF restricted with another exit varibale ( 009.2010 to 010.2010 ).
Hope everyone understood the scenario and issue here is, though I give the input 009.2010 - 010.2010 , I get the rows displayed for different periods ( this is because I am retreiving data for all the fiscal periods but restricting it based on input ). How to restrict/hide these rows.
Your inputs and suggestions are valued.
    Thanks,
    Chandra.

    Hi,
Try creating a query level field which would populate as "X" (with the IF condition ) if the record falls in the period which you have given for input variable (009.2010 - 010.2010). Then place a query level filter for this field where only records with value "1" for this field is displayed.
    Hope this helps.
    Happy to help further.

  • How to hide the all rows except the result row in a report?

    Hi Experts,
We have a report in which the user is interested to see only the result rows and I need to HIDE the characteristics in the rows. I was successfull in doing the same for Key figures in columns using "Calculate single value as suppress result". But I am not finding a way out to hide the characteristics in the rows.
If I move the characteristics in rows to Free characteristics, the result row is not getting dispalyed. Also, the characteristics are  used dynamically by the formulae in columns and hence i cant remove these characteristics from the query. . The user wants the query to contain only one characteristic in the row and the result row for the key figures in columns. The report currently displays Invoice level data for each customer and this needs to be eliminated and it should display the summarised  data for every customer. Please suggest how this can be accomplished
    Regards,
    Kavitha

Moving the char to free char will show the equivalent of result.
Your issue likely is that this breaks the calculations since you do want the calculations done at detail level.
To achieve this, move your char to free char (say it is 0CUSTOMER).
For the CKF/Formula, go to aggregation tab, set the exception aggregation as Total (or whatever it was in standard behavior) and specify reference characteristic (in this case 0CUSTOMER), also check the 'Before aggregation' if you have that checkbox there.
This will ensure the calculation is done at detail level even though the char is not included in the rows.
If you have multiple chars to be moved to free char but included in detailed calculation, you will need to build cascading CKFs (CKF1 with ref char1, CKF2 eq to CKF1 with exception aggr on ref char2...and so on).
    Added:
I understand you do want 0CUSTOMER in there, but something else (let us say 0DOCNO) removed. Use 0DOCNO in place of 0CUSTOMER in the case described above.

There is a cool tool in Coldfusion called MOD

    <cfoutput query="qry_requestedlist" maxrows="30"
    startrow="1">

  • Conditions for results row in query

    Hi,
I've query with conditions. Let us say without conditions query result has 10 records. But After applying conditions result has 4 records.
When you check the result row the subtotals and totals are coming wrong. Result rows are considering the 10 records.
How can I get the result row has to consider only those 4 records after conditions.

    Hi,
I have the same problem. And I didn't find any solution.

    In Bex query design
    Rows - Plant, Key figures - Actual,Plan

We do not have any direct setting in BEx to do it. You can write a VB macro code in BEx to achieve this.

  • Limit Number for Rows in BW Query Result

    Hello Experts,
I am creating a query to be consumed by a web service. Therefore, I want to restrict the number of rows the query can display. Does anyone know a way to limit the result set to display only say FIRST 100 rows of data?
I have looked at 'safety belt' solution, i.e. limiting number of cells to for example, 5000 cells. However, when the limit is exceeded the query just shows an error message not the first 5000 cells.
    thanks,
    Kartik

    Hi,
You can do some things like..........
Do not display the data in a detailed level.
Use Always Suppress option in the result set.
Also it depends on your Query definition. If your rows contains Branch wise or Region Wise, then your report will be fit in your first level of output. You need not to drilldown further.
Why do you want to consider only first 1000 rows if you are planning to use it by Web service?
I don't know whether it is feasible or not. I have one more alternative for you. You can try to achieve by APD by the Query. Insert a ABAP routine which should consider first 1000 result rows for your Web service. Just throw a light on this idea..............

  • Hide the row structure in Bex query

i have a query regarding display of report in Bex Analyzer.  I have two structures in report one in Row & other in Column. In row  have only one field against which there are two columns having figures
    my query is as follows:
Is this possible that if I hide the filed in Row ie, if i hide the only field from row then the column fields will always displayed or they also get hide.
is there any possible way to do so, ie if i want to display the column fields / structure only, even after hiding the row field
    thanks in advance

    Hi,
In your scenario, hiding the row will cause the columns to also disappear in the output. Can you explain why you want to hide the row?

  • Query Results: Retrieve All Rows?

I was looking for a feature that will allow me to choose to return "all records" to the Query Results window. The current behavior is to fetch 50 records at a time (e.g. fetch 50 records as you scroll through the results = s-l-o-w). What I'd like to do is "Retrieve All Rows" then use to the scroll bar to "smoothly" scroll to the last record. For example, the 8.0.6 version of Query Builder had this functionality and in SQL Developer 3.0, if I right-click on the results. I can choose to "Count Rows...", seems like this would be a perfect place to put a "Retrieve All Rows" option.

    Hi,
My advice: do something only if there is a business case for it; satisfying your curiosity can get surprisingly expensive.
You have already read about using Run Statement to execute a SQL statement, then Ctrl-End to auto-scroll to the end. You can try the same for Run Script, but first you will probably need to increase the value of Tools|Preferences|Database|Worksheet|Max rows to print in a script. Of course, taking either of these approaches slows things down due to displaying output and scrolling. Same with SQL*Plus. And, as mentioned previously, Java memory management in SQL Developer can cause slow downs and hangs if the result set is large enough.
Here is a way to minimize that delay, avoid hangs, and get a more repeatable result:
    1) Save some query to, say, C:\Temp\AllCustomers.sql. For example, "select * from customers;" or "select id from customers;".
    2) Run it from a SQL Developer worksheet using Run Script (F5), or from the SQL*Plus command line, with a script like this:
    set timing on
    set termout off
    spool C:\Temp\AllCustomers.lst
    @C:\Temp\AllCustomers.sql
spool offEven then you will see that the timing results will vary. Maybe "select *" runs much slower than "select id" because the logical output lines are long and get wrapped into multiple physical output lines in the file. Minimize that by setting linesize to a longer value (but only in SQL*Plus -- it isn't supported in SQL Developer) and repeat the test to see. Maybe SQL*Plus runs it much faster than SQL Developer because one is a command line environment and the other a GUI tool with more overhead. Or maybe the SQL Developer JVM is near its size limit and lots of Java garbage collection is slowing it down. Simple question, complicated answer.
    Regards,
    Gary
    SQL Developer Team
P.S.: And if by chance you are using a version of SQL Developer so old it does not include the output time in the query result tab's toolbar, using Run Script with set timing on is your only recourse.
