Hiding/showing JFrame with active JDialog

Hi,
I have a problem with hiding and re-showing a JFrame that contains an active JDialog.
I have a JFrame (named operatorFrame) that holds the main application and a JFrame that I use for showing a screensaver. When the screensaver has to be shown I perform a hide() of the operatorFrame and a show() of the screensaver frame.
These actions are done in a Runnable that is called through SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(). Now when the operatorFrame contained an opened JDialog and the screensaver started, when closing the screensaver the operatorFrame.show() method is called and there it stops. The instruction that follows the show() is never reached.
Does anybody have any ideas?

I understand that but then why does it work when I run the same code in Windows (the normal environment is Red Hat Linux)?
I just found out that it works when running it under Windows.

Trouble hiding / showing element with DA based on results of query

Hi all,
I have a field that I would like to valid either on keypress or lose focus. What I need to do is query a table with the value entered to determine if it exists. If it does, I want to show a little green checkmark, if not a red 'x'. I figure that I can use getElementById() to hide or show the image, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that based on the result of the query.
I've tried this so far:

Eventually I thought that I'd create another hide/show DA based on the value of P3_VALID, but before I went much further, I wanted to check to see how this worked. It didn't. Error: exception thrown and not caught.
Any thoughts as to what I'm missing, or am I doing this completely wrong?

Ok, just for closure. I did get this working.
I ended up deleting the original P3_PO_REF_NUMBER item and recreated it, and everything began to work. As I was doing this, I noticed that it seemed like things would begin to go awry when I changed the item's name, even if I changed it back again. It was almost as if there was an associated between the DA that became corrupted once the item name was changed. If I took the item out of the page items to submit field, no error. Of course the DA wouldn't fire correctly then either because it wasn't getting any value changes, but when I added the item back into the page items to submit field, I go an error.
So:
When I created the second PO_REF_NUMBER item, I did not delete the original first, so the new one of course had to be named differently. Then I modified the DA to use the new item name (PO_REF_NUM). It worked! Cool. So, no wanting to get rid of the original yet, I rename it, and then renamed the second one to what the original was (I have other code using that item name). Then I changed the DA again...but now it failed - unless I blanked out the page items to submit field...
3rd time is a charm. So, this time, I made sure that no items were named "PO_REF_NUMBER", then I created the PO_REF_NUMBER again, naming it exactly as I needed it to be so I wouldn't have to change it later. Then I set out to tweak the field (size, etc), but did not touch the name. Now my DA is working nicely! It sets a hidden field's value, then another DA shows or hides an icon based on that hidden field's.

Showing Items with no transactions

I am trying to build a report that will show us items with potentially incorrect item status. Item status (on table itmmas) is either A(ctive) or I(nactive). The report should show all Inactive items which have had at least one transaction in the past 4 weeks AND active items which have had no transactions in that period.
My plan is to join the item master table to the item ledger table (itmldg) which lists all inventory transactions. I can show the inactive items with transactions without a problem.
What I can't figure out is how to show items with Active Status that don't have any transactions. I can't get CR to return a data set which includes ALL records from itmmas but only those from itmldg in the last 4 weeks. I tried this SQL query:

When I run this query in MS Query and return the results to Excel, I get single lines for items with no transactions. For these items, the fields from itmldg are NULL. When I run this query in CR, I don't get any data for items with no transactions.
Can anyone think of a way to get this to work?

The issue that you have is that the WHERE clause in your SQL statement is only looking at an itmldg table field for a value. This is effectively making your Left Outer Join an Inner Join, because when an itmmas record does not have an itmldg record, the date field will be NULL. You have to add the condition "OR itmldg.ilgdat is null".
If you want to return ONLY the records that the report is interested in (which should have beter performance), change the SQL to
SELECT itmmas.itmiid, itmmas.itmdes, itmmas.itmsts, itmldg.ilgdno, itmldg.ilgdat

"Other" includes data such as contact information and photos assigned to contacts, calendar events, Safari bookmarks/cookies/history, notes created with the Notes application, SMS messages, email stored locally or cached, and 3rd party application data created and stored by the application.
If "other" is more than say .75GB at the most, you had a corrupt sync. Try syncing again and if the problem persists, the recognized fix for this is to restore your iPad.

Report Showing Account with No Activity Associated

1) Is it possible to show report which list all the accounts which do not have any activity associated with it?
2) A report which shows All the accounts with Activity ( Even though there is no activity associated with it)

Problem with jquery slide show conflict with vertical navigation menu in Firefox & Chrome. Works in IE. This is my first time trying to post a question - so please be kind. I am also not good with code and am finding css a real challenge after learning to design based on tables. I'm using CS5.

I realize the images are not ideally sized - I'll fix those once I get the pages to function. Maybe I need a different slide show? I would prefer a widget that I can modify to required size & postition. Again - I'm not good at building with code from scratch.
The problem is the naviagation links that are directly next to the slide show do not work in Firefox of Chrome. They do work in IE.
I've read about using jQuery.noConflict(); code but can't figure out the correct way to use it in my case or whether that's even part of the solution. I know my code is not well organized as I have cobbled together from various sources in an attempt to format the page the way the client wants it. Also, FYI, I will eventually try to make the page work in Surreal CMS.
I've spent sevaral days over the last several weeks trying to solve sth slide show/navigation conflict - so any specific light you can shed will be much appreciated.

Is it possible to show a 'My Activity' web part on a SharePoint site if 'My Sites' is not available?

Is it possible to show a 'My Activity' web part on a SharePoint site if 'My Sites' is not available?
For example, say there's a SharePoint installation dedicated to particular (custom) SharePoint site. The users go to the site to carry out their tasks. There's no 'My Site' set up in this installation (and for other reasons I'm told it's not an option).
Is it possible to show a web part here that shows the user's recent activity? The built-in web part for this fails with the error 'Invalid URI: The URI is empty', and the details of it appear to say it's looking for the user's My Site to find out what to show:

So, while I'd be happy to write a web part (or app part) to display the information instead of using the default part, I'm not sure SharePoint is even storing the activity in a way I can access.
Some pages like the following: http://sharepointmystery.com/2012/07/22/activity-feeds-in-sharepoint-2013/ make me think it won't be possible - it says: 'The major change from 2010 is that all the [activity] content is stored in the user’s personal site, not
in a common database.'
Are activity feeds dependent on 'My Sites' or is there a way to access the information when 'My Sites' is not present in the deployment? I can't find a definitive answer in Microsoft's documentation.

To clarify, do you have the User Profile Service (including MySite Host) up and running on this environment? That's subtley different to the full MySite experience which is clearly not applicable...

The User Profile Service is up and running, but no MySite Host is set. (I don't believe MySite will be available anywhere here. I guess that means there's no valid MySite Host for me to use.)

You need to delete your current hotmail account set up on your iphone.
Once this has done click 'Add Account' and select the new 'outlook.com' tab.
Set up your hotmail account again from scratch and this will then allow you to select how many weeks/months of emails you sync to your phone.
Im not sure if anyone else had a similar problem to me prior to iOS 7, but if i deleted an email from my hotmail account on my iphone - it wouldnt sync with my actual hotmail account. So when i logged in online all the emails I had deleted on my phone would still be showing as unread.
But by setting the account up as above, they now sync perfectly.

worked fine with an HTML list, until I linked to actual XML data.
Now it works in reverse. What gives?

Problems with Active Directory and Windows 2003

I'm using Mac OS X Server 10.4.9 with Active Directory bound to a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain. I can bind successfully to the domain using the graphical interface. Then in Samba I can access shared directories using Windows users. However, after some time somehow there are problems and Windows users aren't authenticated anymore on the Mac. I've looked at the firewall and there are no denied packets from the Mac. There are two servers in the domain, all clocks are synchronized and domain information is up to date. When I unbind the Mac, I can see the machine account being deleted on both domain servers and created too on both machines when I bind to the domain.
Problems occur when I try login in using ssh or samba do I think this is a problem with the AD module.
I turned on debugging messages on DirectoryServices:
sudo killall -USR1 DirectoryService
When in Windows, using the Administrator user I try:
net use \\10.0.0.1 /user:domain\Administrator
Where 10.0.0.1 is the Mac.
In the Mac I get from

I really don't know what to do. The Windows Event log shows no messages. The link used to work and there have been no changes in the domain servers.
The key line seems to be:

But I don't know what that ADSEngine.mm is.

I tried the net use with a drive letter with and without the /user switch. When I use a domain user domain\user1 I can't connect. When I use a user local to the XServe it works.
When I use
net use x: \\10.0.0.1\share /user:domain\user1
I get prompted for a password, but it doesn't work.
I checked the firewall and all packets to or from the mac are accepted, no denied or dropped packages.
I already went through the MS document on fw ports. Before I opened to Kerberos ports the binding failed. No the binding work OK.
Some users who were authenticated yesterday still can access files using the Windows domain accounts. It's new users trying to connect those who have problems.

Hide/Show layers with Javascript

Hello,
I am trying to find a Javascript method for hiding/showing layers in a pdf document. I would like to be able to use an if/else statement to set the visibility of multiple layers.
Let's say I have 5 layers on a single page, all set to hidden by default. This page also has a field with 5 options relating to each of the 5 layers. Once an option is selected, an if/else will use this method to set the appropriate layer to visible.

Here is another way to satisfy your layer requirements in PDF.
1. Create a Field (type: button) for each layer. Suppose the five “layers” are called “LayerButton1”, “LayerButton2”, “LayerButton3”, “LayerButton4”, and “LayerButton5” (using Acrobat Professional or using the doc.addField API).
2. Store an image for each layer (using Acrobat Professional or using the buttonSetIcon API).
3. Position each button on the page anywhere you want (using the rect property)
4. Each option that controls the visibility of a respective “layer” may also be a button. Create a Field (type: button) for each control. Suppose the five “control buttons” are called “ToggleLayerButton1”, “ToggleLayerButton2”, “ToggleLayerButton3”, “ToggleLayerButton4”, and “ToggleLayerButton5”.
5. Position each control button on the page anywhere you want.
6. For ToggleLayerButton1, add the following MouseUp action (using Acrobat Professional or using the Field.setAction API):

Help! How to e-mail a PDF (from Pages) with active web links!

I have been working on this for hours without any success! I would be so grateful for a brainy Apple wiz to help me out. I am creating a Pages document that has active web links in it. My goal is to e-mail my document with the active web links in it.
So - If I export my Pages doc as a PDF to my desktop, the links work great! However - the moment I put that PDF into an email and send it the links become inactive. Is there any way to create a Pages document with web links > Export it as a PDF > Then mail with active (clickable) links? I have tried many times without success.
If the answer to my question is no, does anyone have a tip for where I can create a PDF and mail it with active links? Will any of the Adobe programs work for this type of thing?

Using Pages '09 v4.2.
I just tested this. Assumption: You have the “Windows friendly attachments” checked in the attachments panel.
Your Pages document is open. The web links are active. You want to get it into Mail.
From the Pages menu bar, choose Share > Send Via Mail > PDF.
Mail will open with a compose window. Your PDF will be attached as a full view document. You see the links present in the PDF.
Now, click near the web links. This shows your PDF in blue. Now right-button click, and choose View as Icon from the pop-up panel.
Now mail it to yourself on another account that Mail can open.
You will see the web links in the PDF.
Right-button click on a link and from the pop-up menu, choose Open with Safari.
If you chose Quick Look, it would pop open the PDF and offer to open it further in your default PDF viewer. In my case, it is Adobe Reader.
If Reader opens this PDF from the Mail attachment, the web links remain active.

Dual processor not showing up in Activity Monitor

I have a dual processor G5 PowerPC at work and when I look at the CPU Activity Monitor it shows me the activity on both processors. My Mac Pro at home is also a dual processor but when I look at the activity monitor it only shows one processor thread. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my Mac Pro? Anyone else notice this as well?

1. Is this a dual or single cpu machine?
2. How many cores per machine?

Assuming you have a dual cpu (8 core) 2009 mac pro, when you use activity monitor choose > Window > CPU Usage. You should see a floating window with 16 panes. (8 panes if you have a single processor/4 core model) Under normal loads using 10.5 you should see some activity in all 16 panes. Under normal loads using 10.6 you should see activity in odd numbered panes. You will see activity in even numbered panes when the load is high. This is normal and due to Snow Leopard's improved utilization of processor technology.

I'm new to Adobe CC and I'm having some troubles with activating my Lightroom with Adobe CC. I payed for Lightroom and Photoshop CC and I didn't have any problems the last month, but since the new month has begun, I cant seem to figure out how to activate Lightroom again.. Can anybode help me?
