Hierarchial Table Display

Hi all.
A user has requested a hierarchial table display, consisting of header rows and detail rows, both with multiple but different columns.
Something like the old FM REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY.
For example:
Purch. Order   Vendor   Name
   Item   Description        Material    Quantity   UoM
3800000001     123456   Widgets R Us
   20     Blue Widget        WID001            2    EA
   20     Red Widget         WID002            5    EA

I have had a look at Table with Tree (DEMO_TABLE_WITH_TREE), but from what I can see this UI only allows a single column for the hierarchy structure.
Does anyone know how to achieve a multi-column hierarchial display in a table ? Any suggestions or comments appreciated.

Event Handling with Java API.: Adding to a hierarchy table throws 2events

I´m having some problems with the event handling. I´ve registered a Class with extends AbstractDataListener as EventListener. When there are changes in the product hierarchy table, some extra work should be done. However if i add a new record into the hierarchy, two events are fired.

In this case, i added the records "32 Zoll, B&R" and then "20 Zoll, allgemein". As you can see in both cases two events are fired and the first event seems to come with wrong data. The reported id for the newly created record is R17. For the logging, i did lookup the entry in the hierarchy table by id and use the displayvalue of the record. But the first event always shows the displayvalue from some already existing entry.
How can i avoid duplicate events or if this is not possible, how i can recognize that the display value of the first event is not valid.

I have not tetsted it yet, because I'm waiting for my server to be updated, but SAP told me that the API version 5.5.42.67 should fix the problem.

Workflow notification on importing to hierarchy table

Hi!
I came on the following problem:
I use MDM Import Server to load some records from XML-files to flat and hierarchy tables. And I also want to receive e-mail notification with the list of imported records when import is finished.
So for each of the table (flat and hierarchy) I created a workflow, an import map and a port. Every workflow consists of the following steps:
Start-> Notify->Stop.
In the Body property of the Notify step I used variable %Records% to display the list of imported records in the text of e-mail notification.
But when I imported to flat table everything worked fine and I got e-mail notification with the list of records, but when I tried to import to the hierarchy table, the records from the file were imported to the table, the workflow was triggered, but I didn't receive any notification.
But when I used in the Body property of the Notify step simple text without variable %Records%, the notification came. But I need to receive the list of imported records.
How to solve this problem? Can MDM send notifications with the list of records imported to hierarchy table?

Editing Tree UI for MDM Hierarchy tables ina WDJ application

Hi ,
We have a requirement where MDM hierarchy tables are displayed using a tree UI in WDJ application.
However, tree UI is used only for the display purpose. Is there anyway or any other UI available
using which we can achive edit option in the tree as well?
Not only this, we are supposed to provide functionality to support moves across the nodes of hierarchy.
Like PC move or SBU move from one hierarchy to another.
First of all, can we achive this in WDJ or MDM WebDynpro COnfigurator? If we can, then how? Any links or pointers for this?

You could use a Tree UI element together with a detail view for editing the selected tree node. Or you could use a "TreeTable" which is a Web Dynpro Table with a TreeByNestingTableColumn.

i think u can use the method addNodeType (IWDAbstractTreeNodeType nodeType, int index) to add/edit an element at a particular index in the tree.
but drag drop features i think are not supported in standard WD and u need to use a java script in the view to achieve this ?

Importing Hierarchy table in hierarcy struture, How?

i am trying to import soure file(Acces), which contains three fields which contain data as shown below
they are

Now i want to convert this fields in to hierarch struture and i want to import this into hierarchy table which contain two fields(i.e.field1 and field2), in the data manager
My problem is
1) i want to import the data in the corresponding fields
2) at the same time after importing, i want the data of the this fields should appear as a parent child relationship in the data manager.
if any one know the solution for this , please explain in step by step process.
if you have any PDF's on every Import operation in the MDM please provide to me.

if your source data is like this ex:
1. Consumables & Maintenance Solutions;Cleaning, Freshening & Softening;Cleaners;Cleaner Compounds
2. Hand, Power, Machine, & Measuring Tools;Assembly & Fastening;Wrenches;Manual Wrenches;Manual Wrench Parts & Accessories
you can follow this process:
1. select the category and right click, in the context menu set the split delimeter, in that choose split hierarchy.
2. select the category and right click, from the context menu select split into hierarchy.
3. In Map fields/values tab, in source fields you will see new split hierachy field, map this field to corresponding destination cateory field.
4. in values pane, you can see the source values in a hierarchy.
5. Map these values to the corresponding destination values, other wise you can add to the destination in a new category, ( select the source values node and click on add button and you can selcect Add branch as child Or Add branch as sibling)
6. Once value mapping is over, do the importing and you can see these results in Data manager Taxonomy mode.
as you said: you have data like field1 field 2 field 3
You have to select all the fields in Import Manager which u need to hierarchies and select the option Create Hierarchy field . You will see a new popup window in which you have to fill the fields like ( parent field/ child filed and node) and your hierarchy will be created.

Tcode RSD1 --> Give your Infoobject.
Go to Hierarchy TAB.
Double click on Hierarchy table : /BI0/HInforobjectName
Display data.
You can see the hierarchy data. But I am not sure how it will help you. Instead of that Click on Maintain hierarchy. This will show you all the data in hierarchy structure. This may help you!

Hierarchy Table not shown

Hi MDMTechies,
I am facing a very absurd problem.
The XSD that I have created is showing me the hierarchy table.
But when I connect it to the syndicator through the destination properties, it is not showing me any of the hierarchy tables in the destination items.Rest all tables - flats as well as qualified are there.
Has anybody come across the same problem??

Hi Aishwarya,
The blackberry doesnt support a table with property "Grouped column" for its columns.
Please try the following to display table in BlackBerry.
1. Insert a table child ui element to your view.
2. In the context menu of your table ui element, choose "Insert Column". Add as many columns to the table as you need.
3. Now in the context menu of each column element, choose "Insert TableCellEditor - Text View".
4. Now for each column element, do the context binding.

Mixing Key Figures and Characteristics in 2004s Table Display

In a 3.x query definition using table display, I could put a key figure in the middle of the characteristics. The results would be columns Char1, Char2, KF1, Char3, for example. The same query upgraded to 2004s insists on displaying the key figure at the end of the characteristics, even with the Query Properties / Data Formatting set to Tabular View (in BEx Analyzer).
Any ideas on how to keep the key figure in the middle of the characteristics?

how can i change the column label text in a alv table display??
A similar kinda of question was posted previuosly where the requirement was the label text was needed and following below code was given as solution :

My specific requirement is i have an input field on the screen and i want reflect that value as the column label for one of the column in the alv table. I have used he above code with slight modification in the MODIFYVIEW method of the view since it is a process after input. The component gets activated without any errors but while run time i get an error stating
"The following error text was processed in the system CDV : Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible."
i have checked in debugging and the error occured at the statement :
lr_column = lr_column_settings->get_column( 'CURRENT_YEAR' ).Please can you provide me an alternative for my requirement or correct me if i have done it wrong.

I found it myself how to do it. The error says that it is not able to find the reference object i.e it is asking us to refer to the table. The following piece of code will solve this problem. Have to implement this in WDDOMODIFYVIEW method of the view. This thing works comrades enjoy...

How to delete entire data in the hierarchy table,?

hi friends
i need to delete entire data in the hierarchy table which contains parent child relationship,when i am selecting entire records and choose the option delete from the context menu, it is not deleting, and i have to delete one by one or i have delete first the child items and later parents items, it is time consuming process.
Is there any other option to delete entire records in the hierachy table , irrespective of parent and child relationship?
if any one have solution for my issue, please provide to me

Hi Bharat,
Unload the Repository and Delete the Table and fields in Hierarchy table and Recreate and reload the data.OIther wise you have to lot of manual work.

Duplicate rows in Hierarchy Table created when running incremental load

I copied an out of the box dimension and hierarchy mapping to my custom folders (task hierarchy) this should create the same wids from dimension to hierarchy table and on full load does this using the sequence generator. The problem I am getting is whenever I run a incremental load instead of updating, a new record is created. What would be the best place to start looking at this and testing. A full load runs with no issues. I have also checked the DAC and run the SDE trunc always and SIL trunc for full load only.
Help appreciated

Provide the query used for populating the child records. Issue might be due to caching.

How to retrieve the data from MDM hierarchy table using MDM Java API

I had a hierarchy table in MDM. This table had some column say x. I want to retrieve the values of this x column and need to show them in a drop down using MDM Java API.

Key Mapping in Hierarchy Table

Hi,
I have enabled the Key Mapping = Yes for Hierarchy table. But when I imported the records to the Hierarchy table, I am not seeing any key mapping info for the Hierarchy table records. Any thoughts?. Key mapping does not work for Hierarchy tables?.

Key mappings work fine with hierarchy table as well.What was the means of import for hierarchy table. If you have used a excel file and while connecting to Import manager which remote system you selected. If you have used MDM as remote system key mapping will be blank. we need to add the record key mappings. Select all the records in record mode for hierarchy table and edit key mappings.
Also which mode you are ssing the records. This will not come in hierarchy mode, select record mode and check the edit key mapping functionality.
