High number of LWPs for a process

I have a high number of LWPs created for a process (say 70,000) at times .
I would like to know the reason for such high LWP creation and how do i minimize this.
Pls help

LWPs are only created for a process when it requests it (via system calls).
As an administrator, there's not much you can do to modify the behavior of code at that level. You'd need to examine the source to see why that's occuring.
You could limit resources (like memory), but it may not behave well when it hits the resource limit.

  • How to set the number of sockets for batch processing at runtime?

    Hello all,
I need to change the execution model at runtime. I have achieved this by setting the 'ModelPath' property of the sequence file at runtime. When I set the sequence file model as batchmodel, i need to set the number of test sockets also dynamically. How can this be done? Once i set the number of sockets, i would also have to set the UUT serial number for each socket. Please help me out in solving this.
    Thanks and Regards
    Madhu Srinivasan.

    Hi Madhu,
You can do this by inserting a sequence file callback into your main sequence and choose the ModelOptions callback. You can then use the expression step to set the "Parameters.ModelOptions.NumTestSockets" value to whatever you want. If you then use the Test UUTs execution entry point you will be prompted for serial numbers automatically. You could also use this same procedure but alter the ModelOptions callback in the process model directly, either way works just as well but I think that using a sequence file callback gives a bit more flexibility in the system.
    Hope this helps,

  • Number of threads for imap process

What is the resonable nimber of threads for imap procerss?
I have 2 impad procrss and number of threads more then 200!!!
I think this is to much for 700-900 concurrent impa connection&
What is the reasons for this big number

Actually, your configuration sounds pretty close to correct for your load.
We allocate up to 250 threads, as many clients connect more than one time per session, and open more than one folder at a time.
I would not mess with the number of threads.
If most of your users have small numbers of messages and folders, you may be able to get away with a single imap process, but if you have several processors, two is fine, too.
Is there a problem or error situation you're trying to work around? What exact version of Messaging do you use? (imsimta version gets that)

  • Table growth for Async process

    Hello,
    Using SOA/BPEL 11g
Have deployed Async Bpel process and want to know (since this is async -- it must be saving or persisting state in some database tables ) what are the database table names THAT Async BPEL might be storing/persisting the STATE (for future use). Also, does anyone have the stats for "Table Growth" (MB) per xx number of request for BPEL process ?
    thx
    pp

Below are the table names were data is stored:
    AUDIT_DETAILS
    AUDIT_TRAIL
    COMPOSITE_INSTANCE
    COMPOSITE_INSTANCE_ASSOC
    COMPOSITE_INSTANCE_FAULT
    CUBE_INSTANCE
    CUBE_SCOPE
    DLV_MESSAGE
    DLV_SUBSCRIPTION
    DOCUMENT_CI_REF
    DOCUMENT_DLV_MSG_REF
    HEADERS_PROPERTIES
    INSTANCE_PAYLOAD
    REFERENCE_INSTANCE
    REJECTED_MESSAGE
    REJECTED_MSG_NATIVE_PAYLOAD
    WFTASK
    WI_FAULT
    WORK_ITEM
    XML_DOCUMENT
    XML_DOCUMENT_REF
There are no fixed guidelines for the database growth. Database utilization is different for each process depending upon the payload sizes.

  • WLI problem when processing a high number of records - SQLException: Data e

    Hi
I'm having some trouble with a process in WLI when processing a high number of records from a table. I'm using WLI 8.1.6 and Oracle 9.2.
    The exception I'm getting is:
javax.ejb.EJBException: nested exception is: java.sql.SQLException: Data exception -- Data -- Input Data length 1.050.060 is greater from the length 1.048.576 specified in create table.
I think the problem is not with the table because it's pretty simple. I'll describe the steps in the JPD below.
    1) A DBControl checks to see if the table has records with a specific value in a column.
    select IND_PROCESSADO from VW_EAI_INET_ESTOQUE where IND_PROCESSADO = 'N'
    2) If there is one or more records, we update the column to another value (in other DBControl)
    update VW_EAI_INET_ESTOQUE  set IND_PROCESSADO = 'E' where IND_PROCESSADO = 'N'
    3) We then start a transaction with following steps:
3.1) A DBControl queries for records in a specific condition
    select
    COD_DEPOSITO AS codDeposito,
    COD_SKU_INTERNO AS codSkuInterno,
    QTD_ESTOQUE AS qtdEstoque,
    IND_ESTOQUE_VIRTUAL AS indEstoqueVirtual,
    IND_PRE_VENDA AS indPreVenda,
    QTD_DIAS_ENTREGA AS qtdDiasEntrega,
    DAT_EXPEDICAO_PRE_VENDA AS dataExpedicaoPreVenda,
    DAT_INICIO AS dataInicio,
    DAT_FIM AS dataFim,
    IND_PROCESSADO AS indProcessado
    from VW_EAI_INET_ESTOQUE
    where IND_PROCESSADO = 'E'
3.2) We transform all the records found to and XML message (Xquery)
3.3) We update again update the same column as #2 to other value.
    update VW_EAI_INET_ESTOQUE set  IND_PROCESSADO = 'S'   where IND_PROCESSADO = 'E'.
    4) The process ends.
When the table has few records under the specified condition, the process works fine. But if we test it with 25000 records, the process fails with the exception below. Sometimes in the step 3.1 and other times in the step 3.3.
    Can someone help me please?

    Hi Lucas,
Following is the information regarding the issue you are getting and might help you to resolve the issue.
ADAPT00519195- Too many selected values (LOV0001) - Select Query Result operand
For XIR2 Fixed Details-Rejected as this is by design
I have found that this is a limitation by design and when the values exceed 18000 we get this error in BO.
There is no fix for this issue, as itu2019s by design. The product always behaved in this manner.
Also an ER (ADAPT00754295) for this issue has already been raised.
Unfortunately, we cannot confirm if and when this Enhancement Request will be taken on by the developers.
A dedicated team reviews all ERs on a regular basis for technical and commercial feasibility and whether or not the functionality is consistent with our product direction. Unfortunately we cannot presently advise on a timeframe for the inclusion of any ER to our product suite.
The product group will then review the request and determine whether or not the functionality/feature will be included in a future release.
Currently I can only suggest that you check the release notes in the ReadMe documents of future service packs, as it will be listed there once the ER has been included
The only workaround which I can suggest for now is:
    Workaround 1:
Test the issue by keep the value of MAX_Inlist_values parameter to 256 on designer level.
    Workaround 2:
The best solution is to combine 'n' queries via a UNION. You should first highlight the first 99 or so entries from the LOV list box and then combine this query with a second one that selects the remaining LOV choices.
Using UNION between queries; which is the only possible workaround
Please do let me know if you have any queries related to the same.

Someone changed my password for my iPhone 4. I have attempted to restore my device now for 3 days, continually being hooked up to the computer, continually having to restart, continually having to power off and then place the device in DFU mode.  I would LOVE to speak with someone from Apple, the only problem is to even begin to wait in line to chat with an Apple representative, I need my device's serial number to begin the lovely process of waiting in line.  How do I A)-Get the device's serial number when it is locked? B)-Begin to wait in line without said serial number?  I am beginning to think it would be much easier to just report the device as stolen, then contact my carrier and have them replace this device.  Am I doing something wrong for it to take 3+ days to restore? It has the most current, up to date software on the device, why in the world would it take 3+ days to simply restore to factory settings?

If you open it to take out the battery from the iPhone then you forfeit all service for whatever reason from Apple in the future.
Have you attempt to connect it to your computer and then restore it from iTunes on your computer?

When I am in e-mail, I sometimes get the spinning color wheel, which lock up everything. when it doesn't go away, I see on the activity monitor, that CPU usage is very high (99%), for a process calles " Safari web content'. When I click on the proccess and quite, the CPUusage goes way down. Problem is that I have to then log back in to e-mail. What can I do to eliminate this proble.  thanks

How much FREE RAM do you have when this occurs. It's easy to tell, when it beach balls open Activity Monitor (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor) click the System Memory tab and note how much FREE RAM is listed. If it's 500MB or less it's time for a RAM upgrade.

  • High CPU usage for SERVER0 process in XI

    Hi,
SERVER0 process is taking high CPU usage, previously it happen once its due to communication channel error, So we deativated some unwanted communication channels in Alert config and the CPU usage is reduced.
After some weeks its again CPU usage is increasing for SERVER0 process in some time.
Can anyone help in this case.
    Thank you,
    gopi.

    Hi Gopi,
Check out Tim's reply and check for ur Java stack settings,
    Extended Memory parameters
<i>The bottom line for J stacks is to keep everything in memory and out of swap. </i>
    Other tips:
    - u may try clearing folder usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps
    - try increasing virtual memory
    - increase heap size

  • Config Steps for Pick process from warehouse number

    Dear Gurus,
Need the config. steps for picking process with warehouse number assignments
    Thanks

    Hi,
You only need to assign a Warehouse number for the combination of Plant and Storage location in SPRO in assignment of organisational structures in Warehouse Mngt. If this is done, then picking will become mandatory and you can do picking either manually or automatically through LT03 or other transactions.
If this warehouse assignment is not done, then you can put the picking quantity directly in delivery and do PGI. If this assignment is done, then you will be able to do picking only through transactions like LT03, either in foreground or background. In this case, u will not be able to manually update the picking quantity in delivery.
    Hope this helps.

  • Number for bDocs processed per hour in custom interface to SAP CRM from Tibco

    Hello Experts,
Could you please let me know the ideal Number for bDocs processed per hour for a interface which has SAP CRM and TIBCO.
The intent is to use to most easy to scale technology for a custom interface to SAP CRM from Tibco .
I did check the forums but was not able to get a definitive answer.
I understand that it is not possible to quantify the exact number of BDocs that can be processed in an hour, but could you please let me know the factors on which it depends.
    Regards,
    Akash

It depends on type of data you want to process and the size of your hardware.  My rule of thumb is that you should be able to do at least 1 BDOC per second in a worst case scenario or 3600 records for a small size system.  Keep in mind the biggest bottleneck is the database update/lookup times.  A properly sized large system, could do much more volume.  Your best bet is put in the desired transactional throughput into the SAP quicksizer and then work with your SAP hardware partner to approriately size your production box.
If you already have hardware for production bought/existing, then find out the current SAPS rating for your hardware and then use the quicksizer to determine the target SAPS needed to meet your requirements.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • High number of threads and high CPU usage on a single instance

Without any apparent reason, in some moments of day the website reports an increment of the HTTP Queue Length from an average of 10/20 queued requests to 100/200 and more.
In that period of time the Average Response Time increases but the number of the requests on the website don't. Even increasing the instances it doesn't help to resolve the problem (maybe it just reduced it).
It seems that the problem is not related to the traffic on the site. This issue happens either when the traffic is high or low.
The autoscaling works well, we don't have peak of traffic but always a slow increasing of requests and the CPU is always below the 50% (memory too). The issue is resolved by the swap of the site and sometimes it's resolve by itself after a while.
What I discovered when the issue happens, is that there's an instance (just an instance only), that has an high number of threads and CPU usage on the W3WP.exe process and these values are above the mean than the other instances. Eg, instances are around
50/60 threads and 10/20% of CPU, the instance with the problem has 200 threads and 50/60% of CPU. If I kill the W3WP process on that instance the issue is resolved.
I monitored the HTTP requests, I tried the website extension "Diagnostics as service" but I can't discover anything that can help me to understand the problem. Of course, there are many requests that go in timeout but it is a consequences of a
    unresponsive instance.
On the web hosting plan there are only two sites: the production site and its staging which is used for update of the production only and it's always sleeping. Plus, no webjobs are running on this site.
What can I do to gather useful information that can help me to understand the reason of this problem?
    Thank you!

"Does the instance with the high counts receive more traffic than the other instances? Is it possible that the load balancer not
working the way it should be?"
How can I get that information? I can't see metrics for a specific instance
"Does it always happen to the first instance?"
I will check it better, but in the order given by the Processes panel it's the second instance which has the issue. The scaling is at 2 instances for the most part of the time (it's the minimum).
Maybe one time it was the 3th instance but I'm not sure, I'll give it more attention.
" How long do these moment last?"
The time can be 10 to 30 minutes, but I fix it as soon as I see the problem. It's not the down-scaling to resolve it because in these situations the CPU as well is high so the scaling holds or increases the number of instances.
"- How often do these moments occurs?"
It occurs quite often, 2/4 times a week.

  • What types of problems stem from high number of loaded classes?

Currently we are in the process of testing our code for long-ish periods of time, between 4 hours and 24 hours+ non stop. The code is not interactive/user based. I first noticed that our garbage collection times were very high (about 15-25% of our total processing time). I then looked at loaded classes and there is a pretty steady rise over team of loaded classes. At the time of start up it is around 6-7k. After appproximately 4 hours its up around 25k loaded classes. Only 35 or so classes have been unloaded over this time. I'm wondering if the high number of loaded classes occurs because objects aren't fully dereferenced but then when a new object is created it reloads the class. My knowledge of class loading is fairly limited. Any help would be appreciated. Also, if you need more info let me know.
    Heap Size: ~2GB

Take a look at this example and the output:

You instantiated a class!I'm really not sure where to go from here... hopefully someone else that knows the JVM better can provide some insight.
Take a look at this link. It gives some details on class loading... might help you out a little.

  • Max number of connection for adapters

    Hi PI/XI Experts,
I have a WS to Proxy Syncronous scenario. I need to know how many client could consume the web service at the same time? Are there any limitation? If so what is the max. number? and where it can be changed?
There is another question that how many of the WS clients message could be processed via ABAP Proxy? It is important to transport the all the messages to ABAP Proxy at the same time as much as possible.
    Kind regards,
    Altuğ Bayram

    Hi Raj,
Where you get this knowledge? When i do search before this message i only found about RFC adapter max connection limitations. Every server/adapter should have a maximum capacity. Maybe it is high number for WS and XI adapters but i need to know what it is. If you how can i find it please share the information.
    Kind regards,

  • Using SOAP-JMS binding for business process

    Hi all,
We are currently designing one business process which consume MQ messages. The MQ message body is SOAP XML. SOAP Headers carry business specific important data section, so we don't want to loose these headers at any cost. The message consumer is the Websphere process choreographer business process, reading message as a JMS message. When we develop the business process, we are planning to use SOAP-JMS binding. But problem with SOAP-JMS binding is: when the MDB reads the message off the message queue, it strips off all the SOAP headers and delivers only the SOAP body. Is there a way to make this behaviour change to keep the SOAP headers? You may suggest to use JMS bindings, but JMS binding will send the message body as WSIF message (as a serialized java object). I'm not sure of how easy it is to marshalling/unmarshalling of this serialised object. My main concern is around, how to identify the "type" of the message while marshalling. Would writing our own MDB solve the problem? Again MDB's sends messages as WSIF messages to the business process EJB's, which I guess I get stumble across the same marshal/unmarshall problem. Hope I made myself clear of what i'm going trying to do. Any advice is highly appreciated.

    Hello Markus,
I just paste my answer form the other forum entry Re: Business process management strategy in SAP?
in a nutshell BPM Netweaver is focussing on so called edge-processes (usually
SOA-based and often workflow related). These edge-processes a thought to enhance exisitng core business processes and should provide the fast competitive edge versus competitors. Examples would be also xApps. For this Netweaver provides process modelling tools, where you can get exectuable code through the integration between CE and PI. The monitoring part for these processes is mainly targeting business end-users and business manager.
Business Process Monitoring with Solution Manager focusses on core business processes which are realized with the "conventional", "old" SAP Architecture, e.g. Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay. You get a combination of technical monitors (average response times of transactions, background job runtimes, monitors for IDOC or qRFC processing) and application related monitors (you get more than 200 pre-configured application monitors out-of-the-box like number of overdue customer orders or outbound deliveries or number of deliveries with goods issue posted but no invoice). The target group here is the support organization of the customer, from Basis-Support over application support on IT side to process owner on business department side.
Overview presentations can be found under
    https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Customer Information -->
    "Business Process Monitoring - Part 1 & 2".
    Or look under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-processmonitoring
In the end BPM Netweaver and BPMon SolMan are complementary for different purposes and different target groups.

  • Steps for Creating Process chain!

    Hi All,
I want to create process chain which can schedule IP and run the concern job to fill infocubes/ODS?Can someone please guide me stepwise how to proceed. Some sort of doc will eb appreciated.

    Hi,
You can either create a process chain directly in the process chain maintenance screen, or by using a maintenance dialog for a process
Creating a Process Chain Directly in the Process Chain Maintenance Screen
    In the BW Administrator Workbench
      1.      Choose the  Process Chain Maintenance icon from the AWB toolbar.
      2.      Choose Create.
      3.      Enter the technical name and a description of the chain, and confirm your entry.
       4.      Create a variant for a start process.
On the Maintain Start Process screen, choose whether you want to schedule the chain directly or whether you want to start it using a metachain.
If you choose to schedule the chain directly, enter the start date value for a chain under Change Selections and save your entries.
Save your entries, go back to the previous screen and confirm your entries in the Add Start Process dialog box.
The  Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen appears.
In the left-hand area of the screen, a navigation area is displayed. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
           5.      Use Drag&Drop or double-click to add the relevant processes to your process chain.
Choose  Process Types to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate  InfoSources and  Data Targets navigation trees.
If you insert a process into the chain that is linked to additional processes by default, the respective process variants are generated and automatically inserted into the process chain. These variants are suggestions and can be changed, replaced or removed from the chain as required. Variant maintenance is called when the change run performs automatic insert.
    a.       On the Maintain Start Process screen, choose whether you want to schedule the chain directly or whether you want to start it using a metachain.
    b.       If you choose to schedule the chain directly, enter the start date value for the chain under Change Selections and save your entries.
The Maintain Start Process screen appears again.
    c.       Save your entries, go back to the previous screen and confirm your entries in the Add Start Process dialog box.
The  Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen appears.
The various process categories, the application processes, and collection processes are displayed in the left-hand area of the screen. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
If the process that you used to create a chain is linked to additional processes by default, the respective process variants are generated and inserted into the process chain automatically. These variants are suggestions and can be changed, replaced or removed from the chain as required. Variant maintenance is called when the change run performs automatic insert.
Choose  Process Types to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate  InfoSources and   Data Targets navigation trees.
When you add a process, you need to select a process variant or create a new variant. For collection processes, the system uniquely determines the variants.
Various functions for editing the process are available from the context menu
Maintain variants  With the exception of the variants in the collection processes OR and EXOR, you can use this function to change all process variants.
    Exchange variants
You can exchange the variants for an existing variant or a variant that is to be created.
You can use this function to link a process to a successor process. You can choose from the processes that are not yet linked to the current process. They are grouped according to process type in submenus.
          Display scheduled jobs
Once the process chain is active, you can use this function to display the jobs that have been scheduled.
After at least one process chain run, you can display all of the scheduled jobs for a specific process and all of the jobs with which this process was run. The Job Overview appears and you can call the relevant job log.
    Create message
You can also send messages to an application process of the chain, depending on the success or failure of the process.
    1.       To do this, using the context menu for a process, create another process variant of type Send Message.
    2.       If you maintain a message, first specify whether you want the message to be sent when the process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully. Then choose Next.
    3.       A dialog box appears, in which you can select an existing process variant or create a new one.
    4.       If you create a new process variant, edit the document that is going to be sent and maintain a list of recipients.
    5.       Save your process variant and go back.
The message process variant is now assigned to your application process. When the message is sent, the status information and the process log are also sent.
Only use this function to debug a process run.
Specify how long (in seconds) you want the delay to be between one event being triggered and the next process starting.
You can capture the process in the debugger by using transaction SM37 (Job Overview) or SM50 (Process Overview).
    Remove process
You use this function to remove a process from a process chain.
    Manage data target
You use this function to call the data target administration for the following types of process variants:
             Construct index
             Delete index
             Construct database statistics
             Roll up filled aggregates
             Compress InfoCube
             Activate DataStore object data
           7.      Hold down the left mouse button to connect the processes with events.
Before you do this, select the process underneath the process type row, and position the cursor over the required process. When you select the process type row, the whole process is moved into the plan view.
From the context menu of a link, you can display the event or remove the link. To do this, select the link and right-click with the mouse.
           8.      If necessary, specify whether you want the event to be triggered after the previous process has been completed successfully or unsuccessfully, or whether you want the event to be triggered independently of the outcome of the process that precedes it. If the process that triggers the event has more than one option, choose the option after which the successor process is to be run
           9.      Assign a display component to the process chain using Attributes
         10.      Maintain additional process chain attributes if necessary.
         11.      Check your process chain in the  Check View and make any necessary corrections.
The  Legend explains the meaning of the different colors used to display the processes and links.
From the context menu for a process, you can display the messages resulting from the check.
During the check, the system calculates the number of parallel processes according to the structure of the chain . The result is compared with the number of background processes on the chosen server (or the total of all available servers if no server is specified in the attributes of the process chain). If the number of parallel processes is greater than the number of available background processes, the system highlights every level of the process chain where the number of processes is too high. The system produces a warning for these levels.
       12.      Save your process chain if it does not contain any errors.
You can activate and schedule your process chain. After scheduling, the chain starts in accordance with the start process selections. For example, if you scheduled the start process directly and chose Immediately as the start date value, the chain run starts immediately after scheduling.  In the  Log View, you can display the reports for the chain runs.
