Anyone know how to highlight the current text box a user is
in - using css
Im thinking of accessibilty and the benefit it could have for
people with visual acuity problems

then you do that in Data Flow under Process Defintion in OIM 10g
In OIM 11g you use Request Dataset. In that you can directly map fields to process form.

Form field with comma delimited value list to cfc

I have a form that passes a field to an action page with a
comma delimited value.
For instance the field name is: Program_ID
value for program_ID is: 31, 32
I am able to treat this variable as a list and check its
length, and loop over the list prior to passing it to a cfc using
the attached code:
When I try and pass the variable as a string to a cfc and
invoke a query, cf no longer recognizes my var as a list.
Therefore the code attached does not function...
Is there a specific var type that will pass through as a list
and allow me to run the code block attached?

Ok answered my own question.. Here is the answer for those
who are interested...
initialize var for cfc in cfinvoke statement
<cfinvokeargument name="Program_ID"
value="#Form.Program_ID#">
pass argument to cfc as a string
<cfargument name="Program_ID" type="string"
required="true">
use listqualify to parse list in cfc and set new var
<cfset selectedProgramID =
ListQualify(Program_ID,"'",",","CHAR")>
use the new var in the following statement in sql code:
((Program_ID) IN (#PreserveSingleQuotes(selectedProgramID)#))
The following code handles a form field with a single value
or a comma delimited value.

Validating and highlighting a form fields.

Hi all!
I have a form, with a lot of fields, which must be NOT blank. And they must NOT be highlighted.
So, on the one hand: i have to make these fields required, for don't let users print the form with blank fields. But if I’ll do it with standard settings, the fields will be highlighted with a red color (default settings of the acrobat reader). Yes, these settings can be changed in Acrobat Reader, but as the form will be used by a lot of users - i can't force them all change their settings.
On the other hand: If the form fields are set to be optional, then validation scripts don't work on empty fields.
So, is there any ways to solve this problem?

Well, then not only red borders disapper, but also the blue highlight of fields background, so, users can't see where to type text. And that is bad(
So, the only way i can see - is to turn off highlight (app.runtimeHighlight = false;), and also, chance fields fillColor, like that:

But this way there will be a lot of "monkeyjob" to change color setting of every field...

Depending on your source, you can do one of two things. If
you are trying to get the yellow highlight that comes default with
FF2 & 3, you can just use CSS:

background-color: #FFFEEE; // this is a light yellow
Another alternative is to use javascript on the elements
onclick event
onclick="highlight(this)";

There are other alternatives as well, depending on your exact
needs, but these should get you started at least.

How to populate a hidden form field with a value passed from another page

I'm using PHP/MySQL and DW CS4.
I am trying to obtain the external key for a table, and include it as a hidden field in a form for a second table.
The user selects a "need" from a list and is taken to a new page which displays the need selected in the prior page and a form the user can fill out with details of his offer, there should also be a hidden field in this form that contains the index to the needs table, this hidden field holds the external key. Most of the code is working, except for populating the hidden field with the external key. I have proven(by printing it to the screen) that I have obtained the external key and stored it in a variable ($saveNeedId) . What I'm unable to do is assign this variable to the hidden field in the form I'm about to store in a table. Sometimes I get zero and sometimes I get the index to the first need in the table. This ought to be simple but I can't get it to work, I must be missing something obvious - still very new to PHP.
Here's the code that sets up the variable and prints it to the screen for test purposes
      $saveNeedId = "-1";
          if (isset($_GET['needId'])) {

            print $saveNeedId;

I need to substitute the default font (times roman) in my editable form fields with a san serif...

I am making a PDF with editable form fields out of InDesign CS6. When I make the interactive PDF, the font, Helvetica Neue is being substituted with the default font, Times Roman. The client has provided me with last years PDF which has a nice San Serif for the editable fields. I need to change the font either to Helvetica Neue, or at least to a nice San Serif common system font. I have Acrobat X.

I called a friend of mine who walked me through this so I will post the instructions for anyone else who may be having this problem...
1. Open the PDF with the form fields in a recent version of Acrobat.
2. Click on the Toolls tab.
3. Under Forms, click Edit.
4. Now you will see your fields listed under "Field" > "Sort by"... "Text Field 1"... etc.
5. Holding "control" click where it says "Text Field 1" and some options will pop up.
6. Click on "Properties".
7. A "Text Fields Properties" window will pop up.
8. Click on the "Appearance" tab.
9. Here you can change your fonts and font sizes.

Help... Populate pdf form fields with html form inputs.

I have a website that allows users to choose the pdf document they want and create. After selecting which pdf they want to create they are redirected to a web page with a html form. The html form has questions that corresponds with the the form fields of the pdf document the user selected. When submitted the code (ASP, PHP whatever is the easier) runs a script that populates the pdf document form fields. The user is then prompted if they want to save or open the document. The newly created pdfs and the user inputs do not need to be saved on the server.
I create the pdf templates using PDF 6.0 professional
Server can be windows or linux
I understand ASP a little but will use whatever is feasible
Purchasing a program is okay as long as its reasonable and is changeable by me and I have full control.
Any help would be appreciated...

Invisible cursor in text form field with black background

The text input cursor (the vertical line that blinks) isn't visible when typing in a textarea form field that has a black background. In other browsers, the cursor alternates black and white so you can see it when it's white. But in Safari, I don't see anything. Is this a bug?

List all form fields with JS?

I imagine this is a pretty easy one, but does anyone know what the script would be to list all form fields in the console? Specifically, at the moment, I only need it for buttons, but I imagine it would be useful for any fields as well.

Take a look at the "Required Fields" tool at this site:

Its a toolbar button that lists all fields that are required. It could easily be changed to filter for any field parameter, or none.

Set value in tabular form field with dynamic action

Hi Guys,
I have a dummy field in a tabular form which I am trying to use to populate another field in the tabular form when it is changed.
In the tabular form I have an ITEM_ID field. Each item_id has an ITEM_NAME which is the dummy field as it is not a field in the database table.
When the user enters an item name, I would like something like a dynamic action to fire, populating the ITEM_ID.
e.g User enters part no ABC into the dummy field. When they tab out, I want the value to the item_id field on the tabular form row to be populated based on a SQL query in a similar fashion to how it can be done with dynamic actions on text items on a form.
I am using APEX v4.0.0

Why can't you use Select List Item on tabular form, which will display all item_names and return item_ids?
If the list is huge and you need users to type & search, then you can use Pop-up LOV item.

Need to Change data in PDF form field with importData operation

This should be simple, right?
I have a PDF form that is submitted. At a certain step in the process, I need to modify the value of one field from within the process. I am using a PDF document in the default formData document variable. To do this, I am using the exportData operation from the FormDataIntegration service to get XML. I then use the setValue service to modify one node of the XML. Finally, I use the importData operation from the FormDataIntegration service to import the modified data back into the PDF.
Problem is that I am getting an error. It says: ALC-FDI-001-304: Only XDP data is supported with XFA forms.
Any advice? Jasmin, Jayan, Paul, anyone?

My theory is that when you export the data you do get xdp data.
Now when you modify the node you don't have the right xPath to that node and if that's the case, it might be overwriting the entire xml.
This is causing the xml not to be in xdp data format and you get the error.
Could you post the data you get from the exportData operation and then the xml you try to use by the importData?
