Creating an Activity: "Display" is a mandatory field

I try to create an activity.
Let's say I want to create a ToDo item.
For this, I use the Webservice 2.0 and try to attach the Activity to an lead.
The code looks like this in Java:

It means in english more or less that for the integration component "Activity" with the user key "", "Display" is a mandatory field.
I have no clue what "Display" field is meant as there is none.
Anyone has a hint?

Display is a mandatory field for creating the activity.
As you must be knowing CRMOD have two type of activity "Task" and "Appointment". This field is to define that.
If you wish to Create "Task" then pass this as "Task"
If you wish to create Appointment pass as "Appointment"
Some places this same field is refer by "Activity" field.

Hi,
IF you can specify which Field Catalog then it will be useful for us to provide appropriate answer.
1. For Customer Master
IMG> Financial Accounting New> Acs Recev and Acs Payable --> Customer Accounts --> Master Data --> Preperation of creating customer master Data --> Define Account Groups with screen layout (customers)
In that you can create your own account group, and click Details Screen.
There will Field Status header within that are listed three main areas
General data
Company code data
Sales data
When you double click these lines it will take you into "Status Group" Overview. Wherein under "Select Group" are listed fields Address, communiucation.... Double click on one group , you will bet aken into the group field wherein you will find 4 colums with indicators assigned to it. ( Suppress, Req. Entry, Opt Entry, Display) you can choose the required option. "Req. Entry" against the field. Click save after you complete your selections.
2. Similarly you can do for Material Master in
IMG --> Logistics General --> Material Master --> Field Selection --> Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens
But be careful when you do it for material master as it is cuts across all the modules...

How to make external reference field as mandatory in customised ZDCR

I am working in CHARM implementation and we have defined customised transaction type for change request(ZDCR), now my client wants the external reference field as mandatory, and we are using CRMD_ORDER for creating a customised change request. Now my point is the external refernce field should be mandatory only to ZDCR transaction type and it should not effect to another transaction types who are using through CRMD_ORDER transaction code.
Kindly give ur inputs it is very urgent as the Go-live it very near.

Try to modify the Dynpro of TC: CRMD_ORDER:
Start Transaction SE80.
Display program SAPLCRM_SERVICE_UI
Go to 'Screens' and select screen 7153
Go to the element list of screen 7153
Then select 'Special attr. '.
Activate the change mode.
Mark field Name: CRMT_7010_SERVICE_UI-PO_NUMBER_SOLD / Typ: I/O as required entry field.
Activate your changes and start Transaction CRMD_ORDER
Due to this modification you will need a SSCR Key for this object (see http://service.sap.com/sscr).

i have 5 fields in select options and alv table , based on selection criteria values will display in alv table. now i want to make 2 fields as mandatory in select-options. without entering values in those two fields it should not allow the values to display iin alv table , it should rise a message..
(i have not created node for select-options ,i have directly used data type in wddoinit for select-options and for alv table i have created node)

In wddoinit while creating select options by ADD_SELECTION_FIELD method ,it has a parameter called I_OBLIGATORY. Set it as X and thus the field becomes mandatory.

Display irrespective of mandatory restriction

hi sap,
i have screen and first 3fields are mandatory fields.
my requirment is... when give the purch.grp.no and press display it should give the record which already existing.
but now due to the mandatory restriction it is asking me to fill those 2 values... so how can i avoid this and display all the records. when i remove the restriction am able to display it but mandatory restriction should not be taken out instead they should be there and i should be able to display it.
ex : prc.grp   is mandatory
      descrit   is mandatory
      name     is mandatory
when i give prc.grp = 100 i should get the record of 100 irrespectiv of the 2 other mandatory fields
how can i do it can you please advise me.

u have ticked the mandatory for 3 fields in the screen.so it is saying to fill other two fields also.
so what u can do is, remove the tick from other two fields.
so for the other two fields, u can control them programatically.
write the following code in pai. in chain........ endchain for other two fields.
if purch org is not initial and sy-ucomm = 'displayclick'.
******write the code whatever u need.
else.
message 'fill other two fields' type 'E'.
endif.

The input screen is not giving an error while processing with blank values, but I made the input field as required in sub screen input filed settings. Can some one please help me how to make the input field as mandatory field in sub screen.

Hi Kannan,
Try this out.
1. Goto screen painter
2. Enter the program name and screen number ( screen # 1000 - in case if its a custom report prg)
3. Double click on the field which u`ve got to make mandatory.You`ll get Screen painter attributes window.
4. U`ll find three tabs here - Dict, Program, Display
5. Go to Program tab, and change the first attribute - Input field`s input value as "Required".
6. Save and activate it.
7. Now execute ur program and this should make ur field as mandatory on the screen.
This works with input fields, but I`m not sure about the input field in tab strip control.

i.e: I have a field "RATING". I want to make the next field "COMMENT" as mandatory when "RATING" is less than 3.

   You need to set the mandatory attribute of the specific field according to your condition. In FormCalc this will be similar to this,
if (Rating < 3) then
          $.mandatory = "error"
          $.mandatoryMessage = "The corresponding Comment field is mandatory. Please fill"
else
          $.mandatory = "disabled"
endif
The mandatory property can be set as:
"error" : Makes the field compulsory to be filled before submission
"disabled" : Makes the field optional
"warning" : Gives a warning to the user that the field should be filled, but doesn't cause an error on submission
The property "mandatoryMessage" specifies the message to be displayed to the user when the mandatory field isn't filled before submission.

Displaying fields from a Z Table on CRM UI

Hello Experts
I am trying to display fields from a custom table onto a CRM UI form view.
1. I created a custom GENIL root object & Search object ie. ZCUSTOMER. & ZCUSTSEARCH
2. Tested this in the GENIL BROWSER to ensure that I could enter update values to the table and retrieve it via the search object.
3. Created a custom component ZCUSTOMER
4. Created a view with this component ZCUSTOMER using the wizard -
     Model Name - CUSTINFO
     BOL Entity - ZCUSTOMER
     No links to the custom controller or higher level objects.(as I do not want to tie this to any standard components)
Type of view - Form view
7. Created a Context node for the component controller with the same info as I did for the view.
8. Performed the binding of the view context node with the component controller context node.
9. Configured 1 field CUST_NAME to be displayed on the view.
10. Configured the run time repository to display the view.
Now the issue is..
When the view gets displayed, the field is displayed with the error "CUST_NAME not bound"
What am i missing?

Thanks for the feedback. I re-viewed the WD_CREATE_CONTEXT method of the view controller implementation class and I see the following code in there already-
method WD_CREATE_CONTEXT.
create the context

Does that look right or do I need to modify it?

Import Manager and Display Fields

I've been using SRM-MDM 3.0 for a couple of months and 1 fundamental MDM design has always bothered me and I was hoping to get some resolve on this.
The purpose of Display Field is 2 folds:
1. Display the field in the Catalog Search UI for a lookup table: i.e. if both Supplier Name and ID are Display Fields, then in the Search UI, both fields are displayed to the end-user. If only Supplier ID was the display field, then in the UI only the ID is displayed.
- From a usability pov, tables such as Supplier and Product Group should have the name or description fields displayed in the Search UI as the numeric values are meaningless to the end-users.
2. Display field ALSO affect what is the key used to import data into a table. So if Supplier ID is the display field for Supplier table, then in Import Manager, the Supplier ID values are displayed and must be mapped to the source values.
- From an importing pov, mapping values should always be an index-like field, such as Supplier ID or Product Group ID, or ISO, and usually never the actual name or description field.
But SAP has tied the two together. So in order to display the name/description to the end-user, we must enable the name/description field as a Display Field. But we also want to map based on the index/ID field, so we also enable the index/ID field as a Display Field. Now in Import Manager, we have two Display Fields for a table (i.e. Supplier ID and Supplier Name for Supplier table) and I've noticed some issues with this:
1. You import file must have BOTH values (index/ID and the name/description fields) in the source, in order to Automap. If your source file only has 1 field, like in MECCM when extracting ECC contract, ONLY the Supplier ID, or Category ID is extracted, Automap is not possible. What is funny is that standard SAP extract program only extracts the ID fields, BUT the standard SAP repository has the name/description fields as the Display Field. Automap is a must for tables like Product Group where hundreds of lines can make manual mapping a pain.
2. I also noticed you cannot Add values to a table that has 2 Display Fields, you can only map to existing values. The Add button is grayed out.
With all that said, when you're replication ECC Contract Data using MECCM, for tables like Supplier and Product Group, what fields should be set as Display Fields, and if there are multiple Display Fields, what special setting needs to be done in Import Manager to enable automapping? Even standard SAP Import Map (_MDMContractDataTransmission_ProductID) throws errors when multiple fields are set as Display Fields.
I'm not familiar with the partitioning function, and I've seen PDF's about it, but don't really see how it could be helpful. I've also read someone suggesting changing the DF's before import, which I think is unacceptable, as this requires unloading/loading repositories everytime an import happens.

Thanks for writing your thoughts. I would like to provide some information on one of your points where in you have mentioned that :

I completely agree that if you have 2 fields in MDM repository and you are only importing only one of them, then you cannot use the Automap feature of Import Manager. So in your case, the description is not getting importing, so you cannot use Automap in that case.
I had a very similar requirement in one of my project and we went with creation of a Import Value template. We created a template with all the possible values for all the look up tables in that and mapped it once in the Map. Hence, next time, the Map was used to automatically Map the source and Destination values for all the look up tables.

May I know how i can make a field as mandatory (Red Asterick) while trying to provision an account through catalog wizard.I dont see any option to set required=true while creating a form for an application instance.Thanks.

login to sysadmin-> create sandbox-> go to form designer->select your form now click on customize link(right top corner)->select your attribute and set the required field as true and then save it. finally export sandbox. run catalog sync job. and then verify if attribute is mandatory in the request form/dataset or not.
