Holding telnet connection id or ref.

Hi.
I am using builtin telnet connection from labview. Created 3 .net dll's open, readWrite and close. Using these dll's in teststand.  The problem is , how to pass the telent ref/id from 'open' step to 'readWrite'(next step in teststand).
When i use VI's directly the telnet Ref/id is just an Number(datatype) . I can store and pass it to next step by using a (number type) variable.
But when i create .net dll it is a container. I have created a custom data type and using variable of this custom data type. The readWrite step throws an error not valid Ref/id.
The id seems to be a pointer. I think it is invalid after the 'open' step  is executed.
Please let me know how to handle?
Thanks in advance.
Test engineer

Hi,
Every time I have the same error. I looking for the /log, and all i OK, and /tmp the last file is one day before the Telnet fails.
  I see the logs and anywhere i can't see some error.
If you want to see any log, I can can put it hear.
Thanks a lot

  • Logging telnet connection attempt

    Is it possible to log a telnet connection even if the user does not try to enter a username&password? Right now I only get a log entry if they try to log in, but I really do need to know if a connection is made. Thanks for your help.

    Hi
    I feel you can try out 2 of the commands namesly login on-failure , login on-success with keyword which will help u out in getting the login details.

  • Please help, urgent! How to hold the connection to oracle database

    I used java to connect Oracle database using thin driver. But I found out the connection will be closed very soon if I did not make any request of query. I query the database like after 1 mins without doing anything, my application will dead for about 2 mins, then everything become normal again.
    How can I hold the connection or is there any other solution? thank you!

    Duffy is, as usual, correct. If you have a single-user environment, then holding onto a connection is probably okay (not desirable but also not pernicious). However, once you have more than one user, you will want to use a connection pool. Jakarta Commons (jakarta.apache.org) has an open source pool that is reliable.
    But the fact that you are having additional problems makes me believe you are missing a few fundamental concepts, such as transactions. Even if the connection dropped, you should be able to reconnect without issue (granted, with some additional latency). The only time it would pose an issue (above and beyond the ones mentioned above and in previous replies) is if you are not managing your transactions properly.
    In short, take some tutorials on JDBC, DataSource, connection pools and transaction management.

  • ## NEED HELP ## Weblogic Managed Server Holding Maximum Connections

    In one of our weblogic setup, we have weblogic cluster with 4 members. This cluster has been setup with 2 physical servers, each server having 2 cluser members like below...
    Host Server 1 : ManagedServer1:7003, ManagedServer2:7004
    Host Server2 : ManagedServer3:7003, ManagedServer4:7004
    Cluster member of ManagedServer1:7003 holding maximum connection to HostServer2 and same cluser member of ManagedServer3:7003 holding maximum connection with HostServer1.
    As my assumption, since members are in cluster, heartbeat between the members (Host Server 1 : ManagedServer1:7003 and Host Server2 : ManagedServer3:7003) are holding the connections.
    Currently each managed server 8000 to 10000 connections holding as ESTABLISHED.
    Please let me know, what may be the reason, but other members of same cluster are fuctionality fine.

  • TELNET: Failed to establish TELNET connection

    Hi,
    I've launched a NetShow job against several routers. The job result is successful but appears the following message:
    Deploy successful (TELNET: Failed to establish TELNET connection to 10.253.49.34  - Cause: Authentication failed on device 3 times. Primary Login Succeeded /  Primary Enable Succeeded )
    We have only access by ssh to the routers, no telnet is configured, so that message is OK. But, how could I configure CW to try only ssh connection mode to routers? Swiches use telnet instead of ssh...so I should configure only telnet as connection mode...
    Thanks in advance.

    You can set the protocol order for Configuration Management applications such as Archive Management, Config Editor, and NetConfig jobs to download configurations and to fetch configurations. For NetShow, you can set the protocol order to download configurations.
    You havent mentioned the LMS version as path to this feature would differ. I will provide navigation link for both lms 3 and 4.

  • Thunderbolt not holding bluetooth connection

    Thunderbolt not holding bluetooth connection after being successfully paired with a 2011 Cadillac w/Hands-Free and Navigation.  Other phones (e.g., LG Chocolate, etc.) work fine.  Very disappointing.  Please send a fix!!!!!

    I've heard this complaint on several forums, and people who are "in the know" say that it is a software issue and Google is aware of it, and they plan to fix it when Gingerbread rolls out. To further my rumor spreading, I have also been told that Big Red wants the Thunderbolt to be one of the first one to get Gingerbread. So hopefully help is on the way, your problem with linking the Bluetooth is defiantly not isolated.

    You can power cycle the router and it should revert to the old IP address. But yes internally you should be able to telnet/ssh/or console with no issues. The secondary address with the proper NAT statement should work just fine! Here is a sample config:
    interface fastEthernet0/1
    ip address 2.2.2.2 255.255.255.0 secondary
    ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.0

  • Perl and telnet connection

    Hi,
    Sorry, I dont speak english very well. I want to create some program to check telnet connection. I base on old perl scripts "Telnet_Crack":
    # CONNECTION.
    sub connect {
    print "\n\nATTEMPTING CONNECTION TO $HOST.";
    $telnet = new Net::Telnet (Timeout => 5, Errmode => "return");
    $telnet-> open("$HOST");
    print "\n\nOK ... CONNECTED!!!\n\n";
    # DO_IT.
    sub do_it{
    print "\nTRYING : USERNAME = $USER PASSWORD = $PASS";
    &success if $telnet -> login($USER,$PASS);
    $telnet -> close;
    # SUCCESS.
    sub success {
    open (LOGFILE, ">>TELNET_CRACK") or die "\a\nERROR UNABLE TO OPEN TELNET_CRACK.\n $!";
    print "\a\a\a";
    print "\nUSERNAME: $USER has PASSWORD: $PASS on $HOST.\n\n\n\n\n";
    print LOGFILE "\nUSERNAME: $USER has PASSWORD: $PASS on $HOST.\n\n";
    close LOGFILE;
    &quit;
    But Telnet_Crack not working. Everything is ok in log:
    Nov 9 14:07:07 jlug login[9086]: pam_unix(login:session): session opened for user us3r by (uid=0)
    Nov 9 14:07:12 jlug xinetd[9004]: EXIT: telnet pid=9085 duration=6(sec)
    Nov 9 14:07:12 jlug login[9086]: pam_unix(login:session): session closed for user us3r
    But telnet_crack not execute success function. Maybe something is wrong with PAM? In gentoo Telnet_Crack work fine.. Of course, it's pretty good for users (dictionary attack doesnt work).
    Maybe smb known, how i can check result from telnet login?

    use Net::Telnet;
    $telnet = new Net::Telnet ( Timeout=>10);
    $telnet->open('10.2.60.156');
    $telnet->login('user', 'pass') and &ok;
    $telnet->close;
    sub ok {
    print "Success\n";
    return 0;
    I get timed-out waiting for password prompt at test3.pl line 5. Anybody known what  I must do?

  • How to implement SMTP Email ping / Telnet connection to a SMTP Server?

    Dear all,
    i want to implement an advanced email address check where a connection to target smtp server is performed and the reply from the server is read back.
    This program should check if the user exists and is accepted by the smtp server.
    An alternative/part of the solution could be to perform a TELNET connection to the smtp host and get the output without sending an email.
    Has anybody done this before?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Have an iphone 4 all of a sudden turned off and wont turn on, tried holding buttons, connecting it to pc to restore it, is there any other way i have pretty much tried everything, what do I do

    Hi Sian.riches,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    I know it can be both concerning and frustrating if your iPhone will not turn on as expected. I also know your have done some great troubleshooting already. I would suggest reading over the attached article and trying the troubleshooting steps provided to ensure everything has been done.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
    Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
    Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
    Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    After at least 30 minutes, if:
    The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
    The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
    Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
    If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
    If the display turns on, go to step 4.
    If the display remains black, go to next step.
    Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
    If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

    any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    After taking your suggestions, i found that there was no loghost defined in /etc/host. I defined one and now all of my services came up. I still don't have any ssh, it says
    Could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key
    Could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key
    Disabling protocol version 2. Could not load hostkey or GSS-API mechanisms
    sshd: no hostkeys available -- exiting.
    Any suggestions? Thanks for yur help, i will make sure to give you a star.

  • FF will not hold internet connection settings when closed

    Since upgrading to FF4 and subsequently to FF5:
    Each day, after booting my system and starting FF, I have to go i nto preferences to reset the internet connection to 'no proxy'. FF defaults to a manual proxy config when closed. The network connection setting of 'no proxy' just won't hold when FF closes.

    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.

  • Echoing during a telnet connection

    Hi guys,
    I'm playing with a program right now that accepts a telent connection and takes in data from the remote user. I'm actually just modifying the Talk Module.vi found in the Talk Passive.vi. They're both in the tcpex.lib in the examples for LabVIEW. I'm using 6i.
    Anyway, my immediate problem is echoing what the user types in at the telnet terminal. I basically receive input whenever input is sent and I tcpwrite the same input back out to the telnet terminal. The thing is, at the terminal side, it often hangs up or takes a few seconds before my program will echo back. Why is this? It's just text.
    Anyway, to connect to the vi, just telnet in using IP and having the Talk Passive.vi listen at port 23. Thanks!!

    Mike,
    I didn't quite understand what your modifications were meant to do, so I can't diagnose your VI. However, if the echo functionality was the main thing you were shooting for, I modified the same example VI pair to do it, and it seems to work without any hangs.
    One thing I did was remove the unnecessary parts of the Talk Module Passive VI and strip it down to exactly what you want: a client that repeatedly sends back any bytes that are sent its way.
    Hope it helps,
