Horizontal panel sub-menus

I was able to get the Horizontal Menu working in Firefox, but
I am running into the known issue of the sub-menus displaying way
off to the right in IE 7. I have read the
LiveDoc
that discusses this issue. I also downloaded the Spry 1.5 release
and replaced my js file with the new one. I know that I replaced
the right one because it is the js file that is in my root folder
of the working directory of my site.
What am I missing?
There is a sample of the menu posted
here.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Here is the code that I came up with that allows the use of a
different background graphic and size for secondary buttons. This
works in IE 7 and Firefox 2.0. I have not tested it in other
browsers:

  • Horizontal menu looks fine but sub menus drop down one and move to the right over the top of one another

    Help, My horizontal menus look great but when I add sub menus to them they drop down one place and move to the right side where they be over lapping each other. What can I do? I'm working with adobe muse.

    It might be faster to start over.  File > New > HTML page.  Insert Spry Menu.

  • Ghost Panels and Misplaced Tool Sub-Menus?

    I have a dual-monitor setup and after upgrading from CC to CC 2014 I noticed that any panels I have on my second monitor create a ghost toolbar where any tool sub-menus I click also show up. The attached picture is pretty self-explanatory, the left half of the image is my secondary monitor. I've noticed it in Photoshop and InDesign so far. It doesn't matter if I use my own Workspace or one of the Pre-Defined Workspaces. Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas how to fix it?
    I'm running Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit, everything is up to date.
    Thanks,
    EP

    I have not notice that but that may be because my second screen is full of Photoshop Palette. If I want to see what else is on that display I have to use shift Tab to hide Photoshops Palettes. or Alt-Tab to bring a windows application window to the top  When I do I have never seen a ghost Image window for a Photoshop Image windows.  I keep my image windows in floating windows in Photoshop Main application window on my other display.

  • Cannot get sub menus to cascade correctly from horizontal menu.

    Horizontal menu looks beautiful but the sub menus no longer go straight down, instead they go down and to the left and pile up on each other no mater what I do. How do I fix this? @

  • Spry Menu Bar 1.7 Rendering Variable background height based presence/absense of sub-menus

    First, let me thank those who have offered help on previous posts on this issue -- the suggestions have pointed me in new directions.
    However I am still having problems with the first menu item on the top level of a horizontal menu bar which (because it has no sub-menu) renders the background differently from the other main level items.  I have implemented suggestions, as you will see, by setting a class for menu items with sub-menus as per the suggestion, and then proceeding working with line height to make specific changes within that class.  However any changes appeared universally through the menu bar at all levels.
    Working from that suggestion, I tried establishing a class of "menubarhorizontal_no-sub-menu" and then adjusted the line height for that item.  Unfortunately it applied this change again to all items leaving a displeasing white gap between menu items in the drop down menus.
    I wanted to put out a call once more.  I realize that the problem is in determining which of the rules to style, but I seem to have exhausted the possibilities.  The latest version can be seen at www.aclco.org/testing/index.html which will provide a visual of the problem.  You can see it doesn't look much different than the original which is http://www.aclco.org/index.html.
    I am also including the code for the nav bar which is inserted as a library item into all the pages:

  • [JS CS3] Why do sub menus disappear?

    Hello,
    The below script creates a new menu with three sub menus. One of the sub menus invokes a script, while the other two are still under construction. This seems to work except for one irksome thing: When I close InDesign and then reopen it, the menu ("PPcheck") exists but the sub-menus are no longer under the menu. How do I make them permanent?
    Thanks,
    Tom
    #targetengine session
    var englishCheck = new File( "~/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/Version 5.0/Scripts/Scripts Panel/Format/formatCheckWindow.jsx");
    var englishCheckMenu = app.scriptMenuActions.add("Main-English");
    englishCheckMenu.eventListeners.add("onInvoke", englishCheck, false);
    var frenchCheckMenu = app.scriptMenuActions.add("Main-French");
    frenchCheckMenu.eventListeners.add("onInvoke", underConstruct, false);
    var spanishCheckMenu = app.scriptMenuActions.add("Main-Spanish");
    spanishCheckMenu.eventListeners.add("onInvoke", underConstruct, false);
    //following creates menu if it does not exist
    try{
        var scriptMenu = app.menus.item("$ID/Main").submenus.item("PPcheck");
        scriptMenu.title;
    catch (e){
        var scriptMenu = app.menus.item("$ID/Main").submenus.add("PPcheck");
    //following adds sub menu items
    scriptMenu.menuItems.add(englishCheckMenu);
    scriptMenu.menuItems.add(frenchCheckMenu);
    scriptMenu.menuItems.add(spanishCheckMenu);
    //****functions******
    function underConstruct(){
        alert("The French and Spanish semi-automatic checkers are still under construction.");

    Hi Tom,
    I'm not sure wheather it will work, but try two things:
    1. put quotes on session so it states
    #targetengine "session"
    2. don't put "false" in eventListeners
    it's just a guess, but maybe it works

  • How do I hide sub menus in Dreamweaver CS5.5?

    Hi - I'm at the very beginning of sorting out my first web site in Dreamweaver CS5.5. I'm using a vertical menu with sub menus. The submenus are permanently visible. I was earlier able to make them only appear when you roll over them with a mouse...but the sub menus then stuck way out into the next column.
    What I'd like is to have submenus that are hidden until you roll over them with a mouse. I'd like the submenus to be indented slightly from the main menu (like they are now, except that they're not hidden right now).
    I seem to have changed a preference in Dreamweaver, because now when I delete the vertical menu and start all over again, I end up with the same formatting in my new menu. I can no longer end up with a hidden submenu items at all when I insert a vertical menu. I can create a horizontal menu with hidden submenu items, however, so I don't think I've changed the preference related to horizontal menus.
    Thanks so much for your help with this!

  • Placement of Spry Sub-Menus

    I've created a vertical Spry Menu Bar and it's my first time working with these.
    My sub menus are overlapping the text of the preceding level's text and I can't figure out how to place them farther to the right.
    You can view this at:
    http://dev.soundscapemedia.com/SM_SITES/music_request.html
    If you go to the Music Info section and look at the first menu and try to into one of the genre folders you will see what I mean.
    There is an overlap.
    Thanks!

    You might get better results with collapsing panels or accordion panels instead of vertical menus.

  • Increased editing options of sub-menus?

    I, like apparently a number of people, was hoping the latest announcements would include some upgrading to iLife but specifically iDVD. Perhaps I am looking for too much from this user friendly yet basic tool. I would like to use some of the options available on Keynote in particular being able to edit/author an iDVD sub-menu in the same way I can a slide on Keynote (ie adding/editing text boxes and graphics). Doing this is awkward at best. I have figured out a bunch of work arounds including making a number of short movie clips of my Keynote and adding them to sub-menus in iDVD but this seems like a lot of work. Excuse me if this is the wrong place to ask this question but is there another program as easy as and user friendly as iDVD yet provides more editing options for the individual "pages/submenus"?
    Thanks

    Go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Tablet PC Settings

  • Clicks on horizontal frame display menus on vertical frame

    Hello everybody,
    I'm redesigning my web site using Flash CS3 & AS3, and
    I'd like to simulate the behavior of my old HTML web site:
    I had a top horizontal frame containing 4 main menus: works,
    resources, about, etc...
    After clicking on, for example "works", a set of sub-menus
    would appear in the left vertical frame, showing "3d graphics",
    "web design", etc.
    I already built the horizontal menu in Flash.
    For now, my idea is to convert the 4 groups of vertical
    sub-menus into 4 movie clips symbols, and set their opacity (alpha)
    to 0.
    Then, some scripts on the horizontal frame's main menus would
    set the opacity of the relevant sub-menu to 100%.
    But before I go on, I am wondering if this is the best way to
    do it? Do Flash designer have a more commonly used way of doing
    this?
    Thanks
    Gz

    save the text in a variable and use that variable in your other frame:
    // after text input is entered (eg, using onChanged handler)
    var inputTextString:String = input_tf.text;
    // then from any frame on that timeline (after the above code executes), you can use inputTextString to retrieve the text from input_tf even though input_tf may no longer exist.

  • Adding sub-menus wrecks main menu bar display

    I have just learned to create a Spry horizontal pull-down menu. I have dark gradient images for both the 'up' and 'down' states, and I've set my text attributes and everything works fine.
    (I'm new, but trying hard.)
    HOWEVER - I have 2 problems:
    as soon as I add in sub-menus to a menu item, the gradient images fail to show on the main menu for that menu item only. I just get a white block, out of which you obviously can no longer read the white text. The gradients and other attributes immediately apply beautifully to the sub-menu items (even though I haven't even applied any attributes to them yet!), but they are lost from the main menu bar wherever I apply sub-menus.
    ALSO - although the 'up' state gradient image works fine behind the menu item, the downstate does not show when I hover my mouse over it. I've checked that the 'up' and 'down' files are not identical, and I've ensured that they are both applied in the CSS.
    When I remove the sub-menus - works fine. Add 'em back in, problem recurs. Applies to whichever menu item I apply the submenus to.
    I have downloaded the latest version of Spry (no idea which version I already had) but can't see where to install it or how to run setup. Why are things never easy...?
    I am using Dreameaver CS4 v10 and Chrome browser. Same thing happens in Firefox, IE and Safari - no difference.
    Please forgive my newness. I have had a look at other similar forum posts but although people seemed to have linked issues, they were not the same.
    Anyone any ideas? I am getting desperate. Been trying to fix it by myself all day.
    Thanks
    Nicola

    Nicola,
    The Fact: It's all in the markup and the CSS.
    The Problem:  We are not privy to your markup and CSS and as such cannot help you.
    The Solution: Supply a link to your site, or at the very least, copy and paste your code here

  • How do I use one song for all Theme sub-menus?

    I'm using IDVD '08.I have created a theme with 3 chapter selection sub menus. Is there any way to choose a single song that plays from start to finish (and then loops normally) regardless of which submenu you happen to be in? I know how to add the same song to every submenu, but the problem is that every time you go back and forth between the submenus the song starts again at the beginning. It's very annoying. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi
    No I don't think this is possibly with iDVD.
    Never seen a Professional DVD that behaves like that either - so my plain guess is that
    not even DVD Studio Pro would be able to do it.
    Never seen this function in Roxio Toast™ either.
    All of them starts the audio file from start when changing menu - as far as I know.
    Sorry
    Yours Bengt W

  • Sub-menus to Top Level Pages issue

    My web site has eight top level pages, and sub-menus to those pages. Using the menus widget I set up the menus on my master page and it works fine.  But I decided that on one (and only one) of the top level pages i do NOT want the drop down menu to show. When I check "Top Level Pages" (and uncheck Edit Together) on that particular menu page, Muse still applies Top Level Pages to the other seven pages — no sub-menus appear under any pages. It's an either/or situation — either sub-menus appear under every top level page or none appear. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or is it not possible to selectively have sub-menus appear under select Top Level Pages?

    In your plan view right mouse click on the pages that you do not want in the menu and choose exclude from menu.
