Horizontal slide randomly sticks

The slide effect on my page works smoothly most times, but
sometimes it sticks and the page has to be refreshed. I looked at a
sample page using spry data and the fade effect and I can see that
they used much more coding in the functions than my page uses. But
I couldn't incorporate that setup and I don't know how to change
what I have to be better. Can someone help?
I have validated the page, and everything else looks really
good, but I do not understand why it sticks now and then...

am just learning what it can do

Hi,
I looked over your page and I get that stick for slide
effect, but I get it only when I don't click on the span that has
the slide effect attached.
I'll describe my case to see if your problem is caused by a
wrong click.
If I click only on the text, Insurance Division, Division
News .... the slide effect works ok.
If by mistake I go and click on the brown bar, the content
will show up on the right side, but the effect doesn't work. This
is because the effect is set only the span that contains the text.
Is this the same situation as yours when you see that the
effect doesn't work?
If not, please give us exactly the steps to reproduce the
problem.

Is it possible to create a horizontal slider that includes both text and pictures?

I need to create a horizontal slider that includes both an image and selectable text, but I can't seem to figure out how to go about this in Muse. So far all I have been able to do is to use the Image description as the static text, but this text will not slide horizontally, it will just change, and the picture will slide underneath it.
I want both the picture of the phone, AND the text next to it to slide horizontally when the user clicks the next/previous buttons. The placement of the text needs to change depending on which message will be in the next slide, so it will be impossible to use the image description for this purpose.

You can achieve this by using slid show. Add image to the slide and there is a text box at the bottom of the slideshow box, which you can drag and place on the image within the frame. Please refer the screenshot below.

Want to make one section a horizontal slider.

Hi,
How can I make one contained section of my site become a horizontal slider... I will have related content to the left and to the right of the main (default) screen section.
This 'screen section' display, however, is not full-screen I should mention; that is OK though, I do not need it to be.
Is this possible, and how can I go about making this a reality?
Right now, it is called <section id="listen"><div class="containerGray"> ...so that main landing portion gives a general overview. Then, if I can add a left and right slide (or more as needed), specific genres will be represented in each.
Yep, that's what I'd like to do!
Please advise how I can incorporate scripts to make this section part of a cycle.

Thanks, now I am getting some where. I have found the "ActSlider" and the "KeyFocus" property. I have discovered how the "Key Focus" property works, if you use the tab key to cycle thru all of the stuff on your front panel, it will eventually come into focus and the "Key Focus" property will go true. Unfortunately the operation of the horizontal slider control if done with the mouse, so using that property will not help me.
The help for the "Active Slider" says that it shows which slider/needle is active, well that does not help me.
I am using a horizontal slider control to for 2 functions on the front panel, they are:
Indicate the current test step ( a number from 1 to 1000, poistion gets updated after each step is completed)
Allow the user to select the desired test step
I would like to have the user drag the slider to where they want to go and when they release the right mouse key I can go directly to where they want to be at. How if they want to jump 20 steps forward or backs I get 20 changes. If I just click on the slider bar (not the slider itself) I can go directly to where I want to be. So how can I make this work by having the user drag the slider and go directly to where they want to be?

Button on slides randomly doesn't work

Hi there, apologies for posting another question but this is quite bewildering.
I have a project that has some slides that have a number of images on them. Each image is a button that executes an advanced action that "opens" a "layer/lightbox" that has relevant information on it (and hides any other that may be open at the time) plus a small "X = close" button in the top right corner that does the reverse. Basically the images open hidden grouped items creating the illusion of layers, etc, and the close button hides each "layer" accordingly. Testing locally everything behaves perfectly and smoothly.
It's only when uploaded to the LMS that the following issue occurs, in that occasionally, for some users the X button in the top of the "layer" doesn't work. The user is kind of stuck... well, not really - other slide buttons like forward and back, plus the master slide menu buttons all work no problem.
The X buttons are smart shapes and at the top of each groups timeline.
When I test and check they can work perfectly on first test but then the problem manifests the next time I check. It may be the third or fourth time, but if I try enough times the glitch occurs.
Something that may be related and is also bugging me is that in order for the information to look clean on the slide each group has a smart shape layer background that is sized to the 'stage area' to block out the underlying information. The shape is white with 100% opacity and no timeline effects or Timing fade, yet when I view it online I can definitely see the "base layer" background seeping through very, very slightly. Like a hint of transparency. Which makes me think that something in these particular slides is corrupt and causing the issues.
Has anyone else witnessed something similar? I did check and this is not a Pause/Continue slide error (AFAIK) but I couldn't find anything about buttons random not working.

The background shape that is slightly see through is in each (hidden) group on the slide itself. Basically, on one slide I have 9 groups that each have a smart shape as a background (bottom of it's timeline grouping), and the same thing on 3 other slides.

I would provide more comprehensive screengrabs of what I am describing but the image content is quite gruesome (medical) and I wouldn't want anyone get ill on these forums.

Captivate 6, audio on slides randomly doesn't play

Hi,
I am working in Captivate 6 adding closed captioning to files originally created in Captivate 5.5 by someone else. The audio will randomly not work on a slide or 2 in preview mode and when published (though it worked perfectly before from 5.5, but had no closed captioning). The odd thing is that it's not always the same slide in which the audio disappears, and that the audio will typically come back a slide or 2 later. It is a rather large file at 105 slides, and the issue starts occurring around slide 75. So I am wondering if splitting up the files might help? And I am not sure if this is an issue with closed captioning, Captivate 6, or both?
Publishing to Flash Player 9 as it's a linear presentation with no interaction.

Your issue might be due to the audio getting out of synch with the slides. Then at some point it has to wait to catch up.
Try this: Your screenshot of the slide timeline shows that the audio file is hard up against both ends of the slide. You need to create a small gap at the beginning and end of the audio file on each slide by just selecting the audio file and hitting the right arrow key twice move it to the right two frames, and then hit the left arrow key to move it back one frame. This will give you a one tenth second pause at the beginning and end of the audio on that slide. The end users will not detect the pause but because the gap is there, Captivate will think this piece of audio needs to be a separate clip. Isolating the audio on each slide this way helps synchronisation of audio with slides.
In any project over a few dozen slides I would never recommend using a single large audio file with markers synched to each slide. There are just too many different configurations of PC and browser out there that can cause playback to vary.

How to get Horizontal Slider in line with text?

As seen above, the slider (& corresponding labels) are not on the same 'horizontal line/position' as the mx Text (ex. 'Track Time Interval' but a bit above?
I tried to put alignmentbaseline to all possible values but whithout succes.

Also you don't need to wrap everything in a VGroup if you have a vertical layout - pick one or the other.

Nokia Lumia 710 Slide Screen sticking

The right side seems to stick when I try to slide up or down, works okay on the left side of the screen, but sticks occasionally. Any fixes? Love the phone have had it a year, hope it's not dying cause the warranty expired.

That is normal if it is a new phone. It will eventually get smooth when continually used especially when your fingers are oily.

Is it possible to add a horizontal slider to a webpage within a Muse site?

My website is 1600 px wide, and if the user has set his browser width narrower than that, or his screen resolution is lower than 1600 px wide, he will obviously not see all the content. Of course, the browser's scrollbar will show him that there is more content to the right, but the browser scrollbar is not very much in your face, so I would like to add a slider at the bottom of my page that will be more visible and easily let the user know that he will see more content if he scrolls right. I know that jQuery can generate such a slider http://api.jqueryui.com/slider/ , but I would like to know if the same can be done within Muse.

Mousewheel Support for Inverted Horizontal Slider is Buggy

I found a bug in the mouswheel-support for silver vertical slider.
If I invert the scale, the cursor jumps to the top of the scale. Does anyone can confirm this behavior?
Added is a VI with two slider, with inverted and normal scale to reproduce the behavior.
I use LabVIEW 2014.

SQL Developer 3.x won't horizontal slide with 2 fingers

My SQL Developer 2.x allowed sliding left & right via 2-fingers. e.g. When looking at a large number of columns (data) in a table.
SQL Developer 3.x doesn't seem to have a way to enable this - or it doesn't work?
Is there a workaround or a way to get this working?

I made an Early Access release (not an official release) yesterday to make GeoRaptor available to someone in Europe who identified a bug that only shows itself if you try to change the zoom/pan percentage in preferences.
The bug is caused because I used String.format() in the code and the format string that is supplied (stored as a preference) contains a % symbol on its own which String.format() interprets as a format token and tries to associate the percentage value with it rather than the actual parameter. The bug release contains a changed preference string (the % is "escaped" to be %%). Trivial really. We don't have enough testers.
I have not heard that the fix worked (though it worked in my testing).
There was also a minor change to the way GeoRaptor's Java code accesses the database connection associated with a result set generated by an ad-hoc SQL statement or table grid as occasionally GeoRaptor lost the connection. I am hoping for some testing of these two things before pushing for a bug fix release to the current one in the public domain.
No other work has been commenced on the next release of GeoRaptor as I am writing a book and I have had little communications from any GeoRaptor user about what they would like in a release.

Captivate 7 saved project randomly does not play slide audio in preview project.

I created a training project with over 100 slides. Each slide has an audio track that I recorded, When I preview each slide it sounds fine. When you preview the entire project, some slides randomly do not play the audio track. Try it again and other slides randomly don't play. How can I fix this and prevent it from happening?

I concur, but do not have the device with me today, and was wondering if this is a common discrepancy. Has anyone tested Captivate output with slide audio into DPS? Does it work?
