Host jobs using EM fails

Hi,
I am trying to execute host job on a target.
but whatever command I give,/bin/sh -c is getting appended to it.
for e;if I try to run grep using EM job it actally executes "/bin/sh -c grep".
I am trying to execute this job with "sudo" credentials and it fails since I don't have privilege to execute "/bin/sh" as sudo.
Is there any way I can prevent /bin/sh -c getting appended to my command?
Any one knows how the environment is set when a OS job is executed ?
I am using
OMS: 10.2.0.5 PSU-4
Agent-10.2.0.5 PSU-3
On Solaris 10

I think it is time you have a talk with your sysadmin to know what sudo can do for you and how to use it. Only commands defined in the sudoers file are allowed to run as if you were are an other user. I am only a Oracle DBA so my knowledge is not 100% on this. For more info see

What I did once on Solaris servers because it was not allowed to connect directly as the user oracle (only su):
1- Configure the /etc/sudoers file so that the executing user can run a number of commands as user oracle. You could also use the ALL option, so all commands are allowed.
2- Configure the agents as posted 4-nov-2010 20:59 . Check on the OS the sudo command path is correctly defined in EMPDP_SETTINGS_SUDO
3- Read the Advanced Configuration Guide: Configuring Privilege Delegation Providers

VM deployment fails - blocked job using WAP deployment

I am new so sorry if I am missing something very obvious.
I am testing WAP and SCVMM 2012 R2. I created a public plan and deployed VMs. The last VM did not deploy successfully. I am assuming it was because for a time frame the VMM Library was not accessible (RPC failure). The VM deployment stayed at 75% (customizing
VM) and after 2 hours at the same Level i canceled the Job. (For Information: by then the VMM Library was available again).
I started a new Job but all new Jobs using the same WAP plan and VM template receive error 2606 "unable to perform the Job because one or more of the selected objects are locked by another Job". Now I am assuming the error is the previously cancled
Job but I am not sure.
As shown in KB 2795040 I tried to see the blocking Job. Problem is TaskID. I don't have it. I checked on the Jobs view in SCVMM but it doesn't Show a Task ID for the Job I canceled. I looked in the VirtualMachine Manager DB table for Task trails to find
which Jobs failed in order to find the Task ID. But at the time I canceled the Job I didn't find any corresponding Jobs. I looked at the time stamp when the VM deployment started but the Task ID I found there was not present in the tbl_VMM_Lock.
How do I find the corresponding TaskID to the Job that is blocking the deployment Jobs?

I was just able to get it working on mine on a VMMR2 Cluster (hyper-v on 2012 and 2012 R2 hosts with the same success) and the Service Template using a VM template with Server 2008R2 Enterprise. I don't know if you did the same steps but:
created a fresh VM in VMM - install Virtual Guest Services.
convert that VM to a VM Template - VMM then copies the VM files to a location on your VMM Library.
create Service template using the new VM template - with no services.
I've had problems in the past with trying to convert a VM to a template, and the VM would fail at the 'Fix up differencing disks' .. It wasn't until I did a fresh install instead of trying to convert a VM copy of a copy of a copy of a V2V migration..
Mine completes successfully but with an error couldn't install Virtual Guest Services when they are already installed. hmmm.. The VM/Service is running fine however.

Schedule a daily job using JOB_CLOSE

I want to schedule a daily job using job_open, job_submit & job_close.
This job should run everyday at 22:00 hrs.
What are the parameters I need to set for the FM JOB_CLOSE?

Schedule a job using dbms_job package

SQL to schedule a job using DBMS_JOB.

It fails and returns the following error ...

Is it possible to schedule a job to run a procedure with "IN OUT" parameter? I would appreciate any assistance.
Proc runs if I execute it from command mode and there are no issues.

You cannot pass parameters back from a job-- Oracle spawns a separate session to run your job, so that session would receive any OUT parameters and end immediately after the job finishes. Even if Oracle let you do this, you would lose the OUT value as soon as the job ended.
If you want a job to return a status, you can-
1) Store the status in a table
2) Queue a status message in an Oracle Advanced Queue
3) Use dbms_alert to alert another process

Hi All. Could anyone resolve my issue.
I was created a package with an Script task written in VB.Net.
The Package was executing Successfully in BIDS.

Are you editing this job in SQL 2012? Is it wrapping your paths in \"? Like for example does the command line tab on the step look like this:
/FILE "\"D:\yourPathGoesHere.dtsx\"" /CONFIGFILE "\"D:\yourPathGoesHere.dtsConfig\"" /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E
That's the problem I had, and I resolved it by recreating the whole thing via SQL Script and getting rid of all those \" things. I think that is preventing SSIS from looking up the precompiled binaries for your Script Task. So you should edit the command
line manually:
/FILE "D:\yourPathGoesHere.dtsx" /CONFIGFILE "D:\yourPathGoesHere.dtsConfig" /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E

Trigger a job using an event through a process chain

Hi,
After the success of 5metachain, I am using AND condition
My requirement is as follows, it should trigger a job which needs to be after AND condition,
I have created an event using sm64. Basically the client wants to trigger the job using the event through the process chain. I have tried test scenariou2019s using ABAP program (Process type) in the process chain but it is failing. Is there any other way to trigger a job using an event through a process chain? If ABAP program is the only option, can you please specify what all needs to be filled in the variant?

Unable to update rating (rating column) on host document using JavaScript Object Model API inside sharepoint hosted apps

We are developing SharePoint hosted apps for Office 365, for that we are going
to implement document rating functionality inside Sharepoint app. The host web contain document library (“Documents”) and from apps we need to rate each document. The rating functionality working fine with CQWP in team site using

But the same code is not working inside apps and giving error:-

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to update list column in SharePoint hosted apps using JavaScript Client Object Model.
Based on the error message, it seems not retrieve the list object in context. I suggest you debug the code step by step using Internet Explorer Developer Tools to
find the problem.

Remote Login Using SM51 Fails

Hi All,
We had a cluster, 4 physical servers / 14 SAP Instances / HP-UX - Oracle 10G / 46C -> Upgrading to ECC 6 EHP 3.
Basically we have a general RFC problem in the system. You can reproduce it simply in transaction sm51: In most of the instances whenever you try to change to an instance that has the same instance number than the one you are logged on at this moment, you will come back to this instance, e.g.:
you are logged on at host1_SID_01, start sm51 and try to change to the instances:
host2_SID_01,
host3_SID_01 or
host4_SID_01
(or you try to display the system log or other). You will see (System - Status) that you don't change to these instances but will stay on host1_SID_01.
We found the SAP Note 662895 - Remote login using SM51 Fails. In this note they refer to the error: "Transaction termination 14 025".
We look at the SM21 it reports the following error: *Transaction termination 00 152 ( ) *
I would appreciate some tips about this problem.

Connection to host as user administartor failed

i am not an oracle DBA but have to perform some task on oracle server.

Error While creating a Job using JOB_OPEN

Hello,
I am trying to create a job in the output type of a standard transaction.
But the job creation is failing. While debugging the transaction in update mode, I found out that the JOB_OPEN is coming out in the 'COMMIT WORK'.
Is there any other way to create a job so that the program executes properly.

I am in the middle of a job using CS 6, but at the same time opening the Creative Suite apps. I created an InDesign file in CS 6, saved it, and now I can't open it. I'm getting this message: Cannot open file because it was saved with a newer version of Adobe InDesign CC (10.1). You must use that version or later to open the file." AARRGGHH! So how do I access the file?

Sounds like you opened and saved it in CC, so now you need to go back to CC and either complete the project there, or export to IDML to take it back into CS6.

Creating JOB using JOB API - Future Dated value for a segment

Trying to create a JOB using "hr_job_api.create_job" as of today (17-Jul-2009), with one of the segment value has the 'Date_from' as 26-Jul-2009.
API is throwing the below error
ORA-20001: FLEX-VALUE IS EXPIRED:
ORA-06512: at "APPS.HR_JOB_API", line 878
Have anyone come across this error before ?

As per the error it saying there is a problem in the DFF attached with the job, or even job kff itself, paste the whole code and whole error
