Host print 'compressing:' equalent command in SUSE Linux
We have a program that use to run in UNIX in the concurrent manager with the following commands
host print 'compressing:'
PRINT v_filename
In the new SUSE Linux environment the “host print” command is giving an error “print command not found”.
How do you print to a log file in Linux?
I knew using we can lpr file_name , please correct me if i am wrong.
Is v_filename the name of the logfile you wish to print?
lpr myfile.txt - Submits the request to print myfile.txt.
Perhaps your program can an alias for "PRINT" to perform the printing, like
alias PRINT='lpr', which you can define in your shell environment .profile.
Or your program has a configuration where you can define what PRINT should translate to.

DB2 v9.1fp4 on suse linux 10sp2 - redirect restor PRD to DEV

First of all thank you, for valuable TIME.
issue:
My development server got crashed due to failure of dedicated SAN. in simple lost every thing. since, even DB2 backups happening to SAN.
requirement:
As we lost all the developments and configuration of development server, we need build a DEV from PRD.
Steps taken:
a. we have installed Suse 10sp2 followed by db2 v9.1 fp4 and SAP ERP6.0 sr2.
b. taken backup of db2 & sap kernel backup by tar command followed by SAP db13 backup along with logs - for newly installed Development server.
hostname - development
SID - DEV
c. I need to restore development server with sid DEV from the backup of production with sid PRD.
To get all the data {development data, transaction data & configuration etc..}
Problem
Till now i haven't worked on DB2 restore, and the current requirement is to dump data from PRD in to DEV.
i.e.. db2 redirect restore
current landscape status:
Both production and development {freshly installed} are up and working fine.
PRD with all the live data, DEV freshly installed and without data.
Need to restore data from PRD to DEV.
Database: DB2 v9.1 fp4
OS: SUSE linux 10 sp2
SAP solution: ERP 6.0 sr2
Backup of PRD: in to SAN box {backup folder}, backup triggered by DB13 with include logs option.
I request you to guide me in understanding and performing the restoration.
i.e.. the steps to be performed along with the necessary precautions to be take to avoid problems.

Installing Oracle Database 10 G Release 2 on Centos 5.0 and SuSe Linux Prof
I have problem in installing Oracle Database 10 G Release 2 on Centos 5.0 and SuSe Linux Professional 9.1.
1. According to information of installation steps given by one user at DIZWELL for Centos 5.0.
In the last step it says as follows (I had bought a CD Centos 5.0) - It gives the following error. My copy of Centos is not a downloaded Zip file.

I had also installed Libaio and Libxp as mentioned in the document given by a user. How can i solve this. I need the complete installation of Oracle 10 G Rel 2 on Centos 5.0.
2. Installation of Oracle 10 G Rel 2 on Novell SuSe Linux Professional 9.1.
I had seen the oui opening up and when it moves a little further it gives some memory error and It requires about 900 + memory. After installing this linux if we have increase the memory What should we do? According to the message it says my system is having only 700+ memory. I do not know whether it is MB/KB. Please given the complete steps to solve this.

Oracle runs fine after I start the instance (by logging into sqlplus as "sys as sysdba" and issuing the "startup" command) and listener. But it won't start up automatically after restarting the server. Why is that?I got it working. I had to change the dbora file to look like this:

this error simply comes, because the architecture of your computer is not the same as the one from the test drive. As I'm not sure, which architecture the N4S test drive uses, we simply have one of the following situations here. Either
your machine is x86_64 and the N4S is i386 or
your machine is i386 and the N4S is x86_64.

Wired Network conputer cannot find host printer
I cannot print to host printer on a home wired network.
Printer is HP Photosmart 7520 e all in one.
Host Compter is a Dell Dimension 8100
Pentium 4 1.3 GHz 2.0 GB RAM
Windows XP SP3 host computer.
Netgear N600 Dual Band Router
Model WNDR3400
Network Computer:
Nobilis
Pentium 4 dual core 2.8 GHz
2.5 GB RAM
Linux Mint 17 OS
Both computers share the internet without any problems. The Dell computer prints without any problems. The Dell computer properties 'share this printer' box is checked. I cannot find any IP address for the printer. When I printed out the printer configuration sheet, no IP address was given. When I go to the Control Center->Printers->local-host on the Linux OS, it says it is 'connected to local-host' and 'There are no pinters configured yet'. I then selected 'Add' to add a printer. A 'New Printer' screen comes up and ask to 'Select Device' and also 'Enter URI'. This is where I am stopped in my tracks since I have no 'URI'. Under the 'select device' side there are several options: LPT #1, Serial Port #1, Enter URI, and 'Network Printer'. If Network Printer is selected a dropdown list appears: The main heading is "Find Network Printer'. Selecting 'Find Network Printer' gives various internet protocols (ipp, ipps, https, ipp14, LPD/LPR Host or Printer, Windows printer via Samba, and APP Socket/HP Direct.
The Dell computer has alway worked fine and without problems (XP OS) on any HP printer.
This is where I am stymied! Can someone help me from here.Can you see the Windows computers when browsing from GO > Connect to server?

AR 9.4.2 CPU usage on older systems (SUSE Linux 10.0)

in the last few weeks, I spent a lot of time debugging AR eating 100% CPU on a very old system (it is based on SL 10.0 and can't be upgraded easily).
The steps to reproduce the problem:
- install SUSE Linux 10.0 (VERY old...). It is OK with all newer SUSE distros though.
- install AdbeRdr9.4.2-1_i486linux_enu.tar.bz2
Run it.
CPU goes immediatelly to 100%, with empty Reader, no document.
Reader is heavily communicating with X server, which can be seen with xmon tool (ftp://ftp.x.org/contrib/devel_tools/xmon.1.5.4.tar.gz).
I can workaround the problem by:
- get libs (/opt/gnome/lib, /lib and /usr/ib) from a bit newer distro (10.1 in my case)
- add them to LD_LIBRARY_PATH, therefore calling the Reader by:
/ROOT-10.1/lib/ld-linux.so.2 ./acroread
in the intellinux directory.
This workaround is not proper workaround because the Reader itself can't print afterwards and other similar external tasks.
But the workaround is enough to show that Adobe Reader is very CPU intensive on SUSE 10.0.
Can you fix it?

RapidInstall Hangs on Step 4 of 6 - 11.5.10 - Suse Linux 9
I am trying to Install the E-Business Suite 11.5.10 on Suse Linux 9, but unfortunatelly the process hangs without giving any information:

* Command: adrunat.sh (50%)
* Completed Unzip 1222 of 1250 (APPL_TOP Disk 2)
There is no much information on installAppl.log. I have tryed restarting the process, starting from the begining again, but everytime it stucks on the same step.

Already ran orarun to setup kernel parameters etc? Are you doing the installation as root and created the oracle (oraprod) and applmgr (applprod) OS users already, or are you doing a single user installation? I prefer having separate users as it is easier to tell when the applications processes are all down by grep'ing ps for applmgr. -
Cannot install SDK 1.4 on Suse Linux 8.0
When I want to install the SDK 1.4 on Suse Linux 8.0 comes the error "bad interpreter, keine Berechtigung".
I typed in a console window "./j2sdk.... .bin". I tryed both versions, the rpm and the tar shell script and also as root.That error appears to be along the lines of "bad interpreter, no authorization". (considering "Permission Denied") :-/ Possibly chmod +x the file(s) before running, or run the command "sh ./j2sdk.....bin".

Oracle 9i install Errors on SuSE Linux 9
I am getting a makefile error on ins_rdbms.mk during the initial install of Oracle 9i.
I've done a grep on make while it is running, and see the command is as follows:
usr/bin/make -f /usr/local/Oracle/oracleSTM/rdbms/lib/ins_rdbms.mk ioracle ORACLE_HOME=/usr/local/Oracle/oracleSTM
When I run it manually, I get the following errors:
hidden symbol `__fixunssfdi' in /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i586-suse-linux/3.3.1/libgcc.a(_fixunssfdi.oS) is referenced by DSO

Can you please help me to resolve the above problem , if someone has come across this problem

The problem was actually , i was doing a dual node installation , i didnt have valid entry of my database server on the application server , i mean the fully qualified domain name , i have changed it and the installation went fine . I am having another problem now . I cant login to the user login page from my windows box
as it ends up with page not displayed message . Once the installation was done
I had an option of connecting to the URL directly from the installation page itself which went fine but i cant connect the same URL from my windows box , i have made valid entry under hosts file on the window box and i believe it should work
I am not sure why its not working . I am sure that Apache is up Can one of you help me with this problem

Hi All, I am working on visual composer (NW2004s). I am working Sales order Creation Bapi. I have to create input form for this BAPI. I have One Table which has Dropdown Control. I am giving InsertRow Action to this Column in table. But this action i
