  • Having issues hot deploying with ebcc in Solaris environment.

    I keep getting an error message when hot deploying a new webapp portal using ebcc.
    The error message reads" Unable to add module. appname to application descriptor for portal app. I check the portalapptools and i see the webapp in the portal management.. I also see that it added this to the database under the Portal table.. It never actually added the webapplication under in the console.. This is where it gets stuck... Basicly the steps that are missing are adding a deployment descriptor and then the webapp.. I manually did it and it works.. the problem after that is that i need to execute sync.sh after i bounce the manage server or else i dont see the webapps under portal management..
    So basicly the 2 questions are:
    1..Why doesnt hot deploying work in unix using X11?
    2.. Why do i need to execute sync.sh everytime after every bounce?
    Thanks,
    Oscar

    Oscar,
    Are you running the EBCC on the same machine as your server? The hot
    deploy mechanism of the EBCC forces you to have the server and the EBCC
    on the same machine. While the files are sync'd to the database, the
    web app files never get transfered. The deployer then is syncing to
    nothing.
    Try running it all on one machine, locally or with a remote display.
    Depending on your window manager some Java Swing applications like the
    EBCC do not always display fonts well remotely but it should still work.

  • Servlet hot deployment with a webApp

    Hi everybody,
    Does anybody know something about hot deployment of servlets in a web
    application (.war) ?
    I tried many things (setting reloadCheckSecs in properties, in web.xml,
    hot-deploy from console...) but nothing really worked.
    So I have to register a servlet for hot deployment in the properties, but
    then it doesn't belong to the application.
    Thanx,
    Markus.

    I presume you are on 51.
    we do not support hot deployment of webapps in 51. We support this in 6.0

    Are u saying that WARs are redeployed automatically but not individual servlets,
    or neither?
    Thanks.

  • Hot Deploy Servlet in JAR file problem

    I've been playing with hot deploying servlets in WLS 5.1. I have SP2
              installed. I have things working fine with individual servlet class files. I
              decided to try hot deploying with jar files.
              I created a servlet, added it to a jar file, and then added the jar file to
              the 'weblogic.http.servlet.classpath'. I then restarted the server. I
              started the console and was able to hot deploy the servlet. So far so good.
              My next test is what failed. I modified the servlet, and rebuilt the jar
              file. I went back to the console, selected the servlet and hit the redeploy
              button. I went back to the browser and hit refresh - nothing, still the old
              servlet.
              It appears that WLS isn't reloading the jar file and the updated servlet.
              Everything works with individual class files.
              Does anyone know how I can cause the reload of updated servlets embedded
              within a jar file?
              Weblogic group - If there is no way now, will support be added soon?
              Thanks,
              Rick

    Hi,
              If I use weblogic.servlet.ServletServlet to try just the servlet , It
              works correctly.But When I develop it in a web application , there is a lot
              of hypelink to this servlet,thus I can't use the relative path reference to
              that servlet.I try to set the name of weblogic.servlet.ServletServlet same
              as the webapp,It doesn't work,how do I solve this problem?
              Thank you

    Atlast it worked. The problem was that in my ejb-jar.xml I was referring to 2_0.dtd. I have changed that to 2.1 and it worked.
    Older ejb-jar.xml had:
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "C:/jboss-4.0.1sp1/docs/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">
    I changed that to:

    And it worked.

    Am i made any mistake to deploye to jboss or it is not possiable to access the web service in such way?
    please suggest me what is the procedure to recover from this.

    Hello,
    How do you package you WS client application to be deployed in JBoss?
    The JAX-RPC clients are not that portable you may need to recompile the client with JBoss WebService implementation/tools, and check that you do have the different deployment descriptors for the client too.

  • BPEL 10.1.2.0.2 with JBOSS deployment descriptor of database adapter

    We use Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 with JBOSS v3.2.6 . In our BPEL processes we use also the DatabaseAdapter.
    We deploy our processe manually with obant, because we are only able to access our productiv-system about putty(ssh).
    For that we have to manually adapt our DatabaseConnectionData,which were created on our development enviroment, in the apropriate wsdl files.
    On our productiv-system we see in the domain-log files following lines:
    <2006-11-08 04:52:44,465> <INFO> <condis.collaxa.cube.ws> <AdapterFramework::Outbound>
    file:/opt/etmn/jboss_bpel/domains/condis/tmp/.bpel_WF_Notifikation_1.0.jar/SetFaultedWS.wsdl [ SetFaultedWS_ptt::SetFaultedWS(InputParameters) ] - Using JCA Connection Pool -

    file:/opt/etmn/jboss_bpel/domains/condis/tmp/.bpel_WF_Notifikation_1.0.jar/SetFaultedWS.wsdl [ SetFaultedWS_ptt::SetFaultedWS(InputParameters) ] - JNDI lookup of
    'java:/eis/DB/DBL_WFMODUL' failed due to: DBL_WFMODUL not bound
    <2006-11-08 04:52:44,469> <INFO> <condis.collaxa.cube.ws> <AdapterFramework::Outbound> Since unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter deployed at 'java:/eis/DB/DBL_WFMODUL',
    will then attempt to instantiate ManagedConnectionFactory oracle.tip.adapter.db.DBManagedConnectionFactory directly.
    After some reading in the "Adapters UserGuide" you can find some lines about necessary configuration of the "deployment descriptor of the database adapter"
    concerning the "<jca:address location=..." used in the apropriate wsdl files:
    The adapter service WSDL refers to the run-time connection configured in the
    deployment descriptor of the database adapter. (In Oracle Application Server, it is
    oc4j-ra.xml). The relevant code example for the service WSDL follows:
    <jca:address location="eis/DB/DBL_WFMODUL" UIConnectionName="DBL_WFMODUL"
    ManagedConnectionFactory="oracle.tip.adapter.db.DBManagedConnectionFactory"
    The questions are now:
    What is the apropriate file for the "deployment descriptor of the database adapter" for Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 with JBOSS 3.2.6 ??
    Exist there a description for that?
    What are really the consequences if you configure the "deployment descriptor of the database adapter" or not ?

    Hi Martin,
    Thanks for sharing valuable information of bpel install .
    We are stuck installing bpel pm 10.1.2.0.2 on linux from past one week ,can u plz help us in giving some pointers.
    We downloaded mrca utility from otn and tried to upload the repository into 10g database but we got "ultra search schema not found" error and few other errors.
    Can we use any 10g database or is there any version that we need to use.Can you plz specify the database version that u used for ur install.
    Then we tried to create a repository while installing Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2(J2EE and Web Cache with new OID), which creates a new dbase with a repository loaded into it.
    we tried to run the ldap search command to get the encrypted password but failed to execute that command successfully.finally we tried to change orabpel pwd with alter command. And when we finally started with BPEL PM install and pointed to the above AS home it didnt recognize it and giving error as "plz point to the appropriate Application Server(AS) home and it cant find the AS home in folder in which we specified."
    Can u plz help us and give some pointers in resolving our issues.
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Vandana.

  • Hot deployment not playing along with coherence-tx.rar

    I would like to setup my application so that the coherence and tangosol jars are owned by the application. Under this setup it will aid in hot deployment so that the coherence classloader is destroyed along with the application. Using the transaction services requires that I put the tangosol and coherence jars on the boot classpath of weblogic. I could live with this if there is an easy way to tell coherence to clear all caches that I can call from a startup servlet when my application redeploys.
         Is there some other way of setting this up so that hot deployments destroy all caches and coherence-tx.rar can still be utilized?

    In a development environment where classes can change structure it is more semantically correct to destroy all references to the old class structure otherwise you get IncompatibleClassChangeErrors.
         It is also more convenient for us to deploy the application without any external references. It makes setting up a QA server much easier, for example, if we don't have to install coherence and modify classpaths to get it up.
         There is nothing special about the architecture just a standard EAR deployment with all 3rdparty classes packaged into the EAR.

    Copied the ear file to the applications folder. Creating or touching the
    REDEPLOY file in META-INF file caused the application to be redeployed.
    However the weblogic console is constantly spitting out this message.

    It seems that the application is getting undeployed and reactivated every 5
    seconds.
    Questions
    1) Any reasons why approach 1 didnt work
    2) What could be causing this constant undeployment and reactivation
    Thanks for your time

    I think I figured out what is causing the application to be redployed every 5
    seconds. It seems that if the application is deployed in the weblogic domains
    applications folder you should NOT create a <Application element. Weblogic
    automatically recognizes all applications in this folder and deploys them.
    Removing the application entry (as shown in Approach 1) from the config.xml
    and hot deploying by touching the REDEPLOY file did the trick.
    One question still remains. Is hot deployment only possible when I copy the
    exploded ear to the domain "applications" folder
    Thanks for your time

    ps : The idea of trying it without the <Application element came from trying
    out hot deployment in Weblogic 8. WLS8 first deploys the application in the
    applications folder, followed by the application configured in the
    <Application element. Since both the applications were essentially the same it
    gave me a JNDIException saying that some entity is already bound with the same
    name. Weblogic 7 however doesnt complain at this point.

    Hi Guys
    I am trying out hot deplyment of a j2ee application on WebLogic Server 7.0 SP2
    Approach 1
    The application is deployed in exploded ear format from the folder
    d:/work/testbed/ear. The appropriate entry in config.xml looks like this.
    <Application Deployed="true" Name="Testbed"
    Path="D:\tools\bea702\projects\testbed\applications\testbed"
    StagedTargets="" TwoPhase="false">
    <EJBComponent Name="SessionBeans" Targets="myserver" URI="SessionBeans.jar"/>
    </Application>
    Creating or touching the REDEPLOY file in META-INF folder doesnt cause hot
    deployment to occur

  • Dreaded redirect loop with tomcat hot deploy

    I have an OpenSSO 8.0 installation on a glassfish server, and a Tomcat 6.0.20.1 client installation. I have set Configuration > Servers and Sites > Server > Security > Encode Cookie Value to true. For normal use, it works just fine. However, if I place a war file in the webapps directory, which tomcat recognizes and automatically explodes and deploys, from this point on all of my protected apps give me the redirect loop until I restart tomcat. Has anyone else ever seen this, or know how to fix it? We regularly use tomcat's hot deploy capabilities, and it is a major drawback if we have to cycle tomcat every time we deploy an app.
    Thanks.

    As an independent test, are you able to deploy and run the ADF Toy Store demo application on the same tomcat with no problems as documented in the ADF Toy Store Demo whitepaper's section on running on tomcat?
