BPEL 10.1.2.0.2 with JBOSS deployment descriptor of database adapter

We use Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 with JBOSS v3.2.6 . In our BPEL processes we use also the DatabaseAdapter.
We deploy our processe manually with obant, because we are only able to access our productiv-system about putty(ssh).
For that we have to manually adapt our DatabaseConnectionData, which were created on our development enviroment, in the apropriate wsdl files.
On our productiv-system we see in the domain-log files following lines:
<2006-11-08 04:52:44,465> <INFO> <condis.collaxa.cube.ws> <AdapterFramework::Outbound>
file:/opt/etmn/jboss_bpel/domains/condis/tmp/.bpel_WF_Notifikation_1.0.jar/SetFaultedWS.wsdl [ SetFaultedWS_ptt::SetFaultedWS(InputParameters) ] - Using JCA Connection Pool -
max size = <unbounded>
<2006-11-08 04:52:44,468> <WARN> <condis.collaxa.cube.ws> <AdapterFramework::Outbound>
file:/opt/etmn/jboss_bpel/domains/condis/tmp/.bpel_WF_Notifikation_1.0.jar/SetFaultedWS.wsdl [ SetFaultedWS_ptt::SetFaultedWS(InputParameters) ] - JNDI lookup of
'java:/eis/DB/DBL_WFMODUL' failed due to: DBL_WFMODUL not bound
<2006-11-08 04:52:44,469> <INFO> <condis.collaxa.cube.ws> <AdapterFramework::Outbound> Since unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter deployed at 'java:/eis/DB/DBL_WFMODUL',
will then attempt to instantiate ManagedConnectionFactory oracle.tip.adapter.db.DBManagedConnectionFactory directly.
After some reading in the "Adapters UserGuide" you can find some lines about necessary configuration of the "deployment descriptor of the database adapter"
concerning the "<jca:address location=..." used in the apropriate wsdl files:
The adapter service WSDL refers to the run-time connection configured in the
deployment descriptor of the database adapter. (In Oracle Application Server, it is
oc4j-ra.xml). The relevant code example for the service WSDL follows:
<jca:address location="eis/DB/DBL_WFMODUL" UIConnectionName="DBL_WFMODUL"
ManagedConnectionFactory="oracle.tip.adapter.db.DBManagedConnectionFactory"
The questions are now:
What is the apropriate file for the "deployment descriptor of the database adapter" for Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2.0.2 with JBOSS 3.2.6 ??
Exist there a description for that?
What are really the consequences if you configure the "deployment descriptor of the database adapter" or not ?

Hi Martin,
Thanks for sharing valuable information of bpel install .
We are stuck installing bpel pm 10.1.2.0.2 on linux from past one week ,can u plz help us in giving some pointers.
We downloaded mrca utility from otn and tried to upload the repository into 10g database but we got "ultra search schema not found" error and few other errors.
Can we use any 10g database or is there any version that we need to use.Can you plz specify the database version that u used for ur install.
Then we tried to create a repository while installing Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2(J2EE and Web Cache with new OID), which creates a new dbase with a repository loaded into it.
we tried to run the ldap search command to get the encrypted password but failed to execute that command successfully.finally we tried to change orabpel pwd with alter command. And when we finally started with BPEL PM install and pointed to the above AS home it didnt recognize it and giving error as "plz point to the appropriate Application Server(AS) home and it cant find the AS home in folder in which we specified."
Can u plz help us and give some pointers in resolving our issues.
Thanks a lot in advance.
Vandana.

  • Problem with weblogic deployment descriptor tool (DDInit)

    Hi,
I'm just playing with weblogic ... following their tutorual but I can't seem to run their deployment descriptor tool:
    java weblogic.ant.taskdefs.war.DDinit <folderName> gives me a NoClassDefFoundError.
I have weblogic6.0sp1 installed with an evaluation license which has not yet expired. I have d:\bea\wlserver6.0sp1\lib in mt classpath so weblogic.jar is n there.
When I check out the contents of the weblogic.jar file .. I can't seem to find this tool.
Can anyone give me a clue as to what I am doing wrong?

Here's a link describing the process. If this is what you are doing then your problem may be that 6.0 doesn't support this.

  • JDeveloper 11g Errors Editing BPEL Database Adapter

I am encountering problems editing Database Adapters in a BPEL based Service Composite Application in JDeveloper. Specifically,
    * double-clicking an existing Database Adapter component to view/edit it generates an uncaught exception in the GUI
    * clicking Next through the wizard proceeds to the next step but the view showing the
SQL select criteria and input parameters doesn't return the original values set when the
adapter was first created -- a second NPE is logged at that time
Here are the specifics of what's running:
    * host for JDeveloper is a Windows7 Home Premium 64-bit (version 61. build 7601 SP 1) PC with 8GB RAM
    * JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 (the SOA / WebCenter version)
    * the c:\OracleMW directory has JDK 6.0.24 installed
    * the Windows machine does have Java EE JDK 7 installed but JDeveloper uses the JDK inside c:\OracleMW
    * while running, JDeveloper is using around 274M of memory
    * database hosting the SOA meta data store and the desired DB of the adapter is 11g (11.2.0.1.0)
    * database is up, reachable and healthy while attempting to edit the Adapter component
Here is the exact error encountered and the stack trace:
GUI popup = An unexpected error has occurred in JDeveloper. The program may be unstable, which could result in data loss. Decide how you want to proceed and click OK.
    Details = Uncaught exception
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    o.tip.tools.ide.adapters.designtime.adapter.xr.util.SQLRefresher.run(SQLRefresher.java:118)
    j.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662)
If you click on ignore / continue and proceed through the steps of the Wizard, when the Define Selection Criteria step appears, the original criteria and input parameters defined when the adapter was first built are not displayed and the "Feedback - Log" tab in the log windows registers another entry of:
Previously reported error [NPE in o.tip.tools.ide.adapters.designtime.adapter.xr.util.SQLRefresher:118]
Also, if you go through the motions of adding a new parameter variable in the top section of the dialog, after clicking OK, the dialog DOES suddenly display the original variables defined as input parameters.
Thinking this is a symptom of JDeveloper trying to run in too little memory, I have attempted to increase the max memory setting of JDeveloper to 1024M by adding this line
    AddVMOption -Xmx1024M
    in
    c:\OracleMW\JDeveloper\jdev\bin\jdev.conf
I've also tried adjusting that same setting in the config file for the IDE itself at
    c:\OracleMW\JDeveloper\ide\bin\ide.conf
and get the same result. (Subsequent review of properties in About JDeveloper shows that JDeveloper uses the jdev.conf file, not the ide.conf file FWIW.) Memory really shouldn't be a problem because I'm still new to SOA style development and the "application" involved is a very simple "HelloSOA" type service that just sets a couple of BPEL variables, transforms some input variables into variables passed to this Database Adapter, does a few more Transform operations for the DB result values to the reply values and sends the reply.
However, one other sign that memory utilization could be contributing to this is that periodically, switching to the "Source" view of the composite.xml file or the BPEL process file will lock the GUI up for about 35 seconds with nothing happening. An obvious sign of garbage collection gettng triggered.
    Any suggestions?

Oracle has identified a fix added to newer versions of JDeveloper which corrected these NullPointerException errors encountered using the 11.1.1.5 version of JDeveloper. That fix had not be propagated back to the 11.1.1.5 version but subsequently HAS been ported back. The fix is associated with patch ID 12670305 which can be downloaded from http://support.oracle.com by searching for that bug ID then downloading the associated ZIP file. I've applied the patch to JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 running on Windows7, Vista 32-bit and LINUX 64-bit and it works like a champ on all three platforms.

  • Oracle Apps Adapter with jboss

    Hi,
I'm using BPEL 10.1.2 with JBoss and I'm having trouble getting the Apps Adapter to work. I've tried configuring AppsAdapter-ds.xml in the deploy directory but I get the error message below when I invoke the process. Basically, the connection URL is invalid ? Looks ok to me, am I missing something. All the doco, even that with JBoss only talks about oracle BPEL engine. Not particularly helpful.

I don't know if this is the answer or not, but at least worth a try.
A few years ago, JBoss was VERY unforgiving if installed on a windows machine with a space in the path. Most JBoss functionality would work fine, but in some situations, it would complain about the URL, just as it has in your case. It looks to me as if you do have a space in your path. I don't know if they ever got around to fixing it (I filed the original bug on the JBoss bug system). It's at least worth a try, or at least a search through the JBoss site to see if this issue still exists.

Atlast it worked. The problem was that in my ejb-jar.xml I was referring to 2_0.dtd. I have changed that to 2.1 and it worked.
    Older ejb-jar.xml had:
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "C:/jboss-4.0.1sp1/docs/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">
    I changed that to:
    <ejb-jar xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" version="2.1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/ejb-jar_2_1.xsd">
    And it worked.

  • Problem in Blazeds with Jboss Clustering ( Mod_JK with SSL )

    Hi,
We are running our flex application in jboss clustering environment with the help of Apache mod_jk(Apache Web server as front end with mod_ssl enabled). We are using the SecureAMFChannel as we deploy the application in SSL. We use the RemoteObject for communicating with Java.
The Application is running fine when we have only one node of JBoss. But once we add one more node to the cluster the application throws the following exception .
Duplicate HTTP-based FlexSession error: A request for FlexClient 'FDCA49A7-9317-4D8A-881F-9248B1136E7A' arrived over a new FlexSession 'C9C563B8266A03C2207C00796CD7DFF1', but FlexClient is already associated with  FlexSession '8A328320F5C530D55E94568996A1B552', therefore it cannot be associated with the new session.
As I am maintaing the session in the server, I need to use the JBoss cluster for session replication. I heard that flex clustering is not needed as we have mod_jk and it will do all the stuff for us.
I checked with simple application without any session data also then too I faced the same problem.
After the very first login, I can see 2 session created simultaneously and destroyed. I checked the application whether it calls twice before the session is created, but it is calling only once.
Also when application connects with server2 and if I down the server2 my flex application throws the error that the server is not found, It is not detecting the other server. But it works once I refresh the browser.
    Application Environment Details
    JBoss 6
    Blaze Ds 4.5
    Apache Web server 2.2.21
    Mod_JK   1.2.32
    Mod_SSL 2.8.31
    Thanks,
    Suresh T
I enabled the sticky session in Mod_jk .
It is working when the connection is not secure(http) in both apache web server and jboss web server ). But when the connection is https the above problem is happening .

First I installed OIM 9.0.2 in Oracle 10.2.0.1 with JBOSS and I obstacled with errors during compilling adapters of OEBS and OID from Connectors Pack.
After that I desided to install OIM in existing Oracle 10.2.0.1 on OAS 10.1.3.1 during installation I obstacle with follow error "Oracle Identity Manager installer has found that Oracle Application Server is not running. So, start Oracle Application Server and then proceed with installation."
I tested my OAS and I's starting
Please give me advise about my abilities with installation OIM 9.0.2 on Linux.

    For JBOSS I use
    ./java -version
    java version "1.4.2_13"

  • Problem with JBoss startup in a zone

    Hi!
I try to run JBoss inside a sparse-root zone, but encounter a problem during startup, it simply stucks always at a certain point.
This is how the zone is configured:
    root@mantis:/usr/local/Dtrace # zonecfg -z setam-test
    zonecfg:setam-test> info
    zonepath: /var/zone/setam-test
    autoboot: true
    pool:

    dir: /lib
    inherit-pkg-dir:
    dir: /platform
    inherit-pkg-dir:
    dir: /sbin
    inherit-pkg-dir:
    dir: /usr
    fs:
    dir: /usr/local

    raw not specified
    type: lofs
    options: []
    net:
    address: 172.16.14.5
    physical: bge0
During startup ( bin/startserver.sh ) I watch the server.log with tail -f, but here it comes: the output stopps always at the RMIAdaptor - like
    2006-10-17 11:12:37,810 DEBUG [org.jboss.deployment.MainDeployer] Begin deployment start file:/opt/jboss-4.0.2/server/btv/deploy/jmx-invoker-service.xml

Here I can wait for minutes, nothing else follows. At the end I kill the java process.
I'm definitely no JBoss expert, and I wonder what RMIAdaptor does or what it expects. I assume it tries to initialize something and is not allowed to (?).
My question is: besides of truss or Dtrace, how should I diagnose this symptom at first hand?
    Thanks ... Nick

My colleague found the answer: he had disabled the default registration rule. Once enabled, a quick "zac reg" worked.

  • Creating SSL certificate and configuring it with JBOSS 4.0.1

I have to post some data to a secured site from my application.
For this, I am creating connection to that site using URLConnection and to send data I create OutputStream using the connection.
But, while creating the stream it is showing SSLException and message is No trusted certificate found.
For this, I need to create SSL certificate (mostly using keytool command) and configure it with my application server which is JBOSS 4.0.1
Now, my problem is that I don't know the exact steps to create a certificate and configure it with JBOSS. Please provide the steps in detail.

I think you have this back to front. Unless this exception came from the server, in which case it is misconfigured, you don't have to create a certificate, you have to import the server's certificate, or that of one of its signers, into the client's truststore, and tell Java where the truststore is if it's in a non-standard location.
See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/security/jsse/JSSERefGuide.html. You'll have to ask about the JBoss part in a JBoss forum.

  • BlazeDS clustering with JBoss AS

    Greetings,
I'm currently working on a system that uses Adobe Flex 3 and BlazeDS. It works fine in the actual TomCat standalone server, but we got plans to upgrade our infrastructure to a cluster environment running JBoss AS.
I got really concern when I begin to read many articles and forum posts about BlazeDS issues with clustering.
Is this a risk to my project ? Should I quit using BlazeDS ?
    Thanks is advance,

    Hi Mauricio,
I installed OCMS in JBOSS AS 4.0.5.GA installation mode.I m facing the same problem on ocms startup, i.e., proxyregistrar war file is not deployed properly. OCMS not working properly with JBOSS AS 4.2.1 GA and JBOSS AS 4.2.2 GA too i.e., OCMS MBeans are not shown in the jmx-console page and the oc is not getting connected to the ocms, traffic.log file shows that application proxyregistrar is not found. Please help me out in solving this issue.
