Hover menu hiding behind portal Iframe

hi Experts,
I have prepared a hover menu which hides behind the Iflex controls and other portal Iframes. I had read all the other threads related to this issue, and found that the only solution to this problem is to have Iframe behind the div code.
Can anyone please give an example code to this for better understanding
Points would be given for helpful answers.

Can you please provide few more details on what on that Hover Menu? Are you trying to implement that Hover menu on top level navigation? Is that Hover menu par iview working fine when you preview that iview?

Hi All,
I have implemented a Hover Menu for TLN in my portal.
the problem I am facing is that the Hover Menu hides behind,or is overlapped by the Flex Iview ,which is displayed in the portal content area.
This is undesirable,as the user then cant navigate in the hover menu.
The isolation property for the hover menu is embedded,while for the Flex Iview it is URL.These properties cant be changed.
Can anyone suggest how to overcome the problem without changing these properties.

Use IFRAMES for External Content
This version of the tabbed UI looks and acts very much as if an <iframe> were embedded on the page. In fact, if you need to use external content for the panel contents, an <iframe> is extremely easy to implement. Just swap out the <div> elements with <iframe> elements, add a src attribute, and modify the tab text:
The extra <div> element in the preceding code that appears just after the <body> element displays while the browser fetches the external content. That way, users see something during the load process, which is usually a good idea, because users should know that the browser is working for them. Adding the extra <div> won't make the page load any faster but it will increase the user's perception of speed.
There are some obvious benefits of implementing a tabbed interface in this manner. Tabs let users navigate between content more easily than switching pages. Because tabs are relatively easy to implement, development time is short. Also, if you're using internal content, the pages load quickly. Switching from internal to external content is painlessjust change the panel <div> tags to <iframe> tags. Finally, the tabs provide state for the user and are visible at all times.

I have a created a custom hover drop down menu using Dhtml
but this menu hides behind controls like r/3 transactions, VC iviews, PDF displayed in content area.
From other threads i found that the only solution to solve this is to have an iframe behind the div.
I have tried this too still the problem is not solved.
Steps i performed:
1> made a copy of original-A.jsp file as B.jsp.
2> removed the code for menu display from the
original-A.jsp and inserted the Iframe code as
<iframe src="/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/SDNTest.JSPPortalComponent" height="60" width="1000" top="0px" left="0px" margin="0px" padding="0px" >
</iframe>
and called the B.jsp from src of Iframe.
till here it works fine, the menu too is displayed.

Do i need to modify any properties of Iframe ???

yes the complete Hover menu available on SDN also has this problem,
basically i am facing problem when i open any PDF or VC iview in the Content area,
I have also observed that even the tray options hide behind the PDFs, really dont understand why this happens ?
We have many PDF and VC iviews, its really not possible to move ahead without finding a solution to this.
Can anyone please help.

Vertical Hover Menu on TLN !!

Hi all,
well, i have developed a vertical hover menu for my portal by following a blog posted here on SDN, but somehow my requirement is not getting fullfill, i want the TLN to be more interactive and more attrative, i have coded a css file also and after total 3 days of trying with many options i am left no clue at all,
For reference here is something i am trying to do like :

I tried using the css property for displaying an image in TLN :
BACKGROUND: url(/images/ameya.gif) fixed;
But it is not working, any help on how can i change the shapes of TLN like the above mentioned site has?
What changes in CSS is to be made? If anyone has done this then kindly help me in solving this probelm..

Hi Ameya,
In the page you are refering to (http://www.ibsolution.de) the TLN is implemented in Adobe Flash with "last minute data injection".
This means that the framework for this TLN is implemented in flash but that the TLN data is coning from the TAG libs....
The best you could do without using flash is to add some fancy javascript...

Error appear during implement hover menu

dear experts,
i 'm trying to implement hover menu in my portal. my steps as following;
1. create new project in NWDS
2. create jsp file (header.jsp and header_style.jsp)
3. create portalapp.xml
4. run component in portalapp.xml
but, when i run the component, error "Portal runtime error.An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator.Exception ID: 03:44_20/08/09_0033_3183850 Refer to the log file for details about this exception." was appeared.
why the error is appeared? thats any step i miss? any jar file or lib are needed?

Hi,
I have implemented the hover menu as explained in this blog by Ameya

Does anyone know how to implement the third level Hover menu in portal?
e.g.

- SALES
-SUPPORT
Is it possible to have the 'detailed navigation' links as an option on the hover menu??

The problematic part is the (first) space character within the parameter
TarTitle=Portal Content Management
You'd have to examine why this is not escaped.

Scroll bar in the Hover Menu

Dear Expert,
We have implemented the Hover menu in our Netweaver Portal 7.01. Everything is working very fine but now we are coming across a problme for the users having roles more than 7. In TLN the roles come in 2 rows one after the another.When the users try to acess the submenu of the frole in the first row he has to struggle a lot, always the role in the 2nd row gets selected.
To fix this issue i am trying to create a scroll button at the end of the screen and the 2nd row role should come after this button instead of the 2nd row.
Any other solution is also welcome..

Hopefully, you will not have to go far down this general list.
You may try the following (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps (the following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file; 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Problem with Customised Hover Menu.

hi Experts,
I have implemented the drop down Hover menu for TLN using DIV tags. Generally the menu works fine but when the content area consists of a PDF of Flex Controls like VC iview the menu hides behind the PDF or Flex Controls.
Searched other threads but not able to understand what has to be done.
Would anyone please help me to handle this problem.

Fireworks Menu Appearing Behind Content

Hi All
I have an existing website built in Macromedia Studio 8. I would like to upgrade to Web Premium CS5.5. As a result, I am currently using a trial version which has helped me to redesign the whole website. I am not proficient in code writing and have a basis understanding of the software. (That is why I am testing the trial version first). However, I an faced with TWO problems.
The first is, although my templates were built using one of Adobe's page layout formats (then customised), some of the pages are no longer centred.
The second is, I have created menu's in both Fireworks (Studio 8 then edited in Fireworks CS5.1 creative suite master collection and saved) and Spry (in Dreamweaver CS5.5) - which have now caused the menus to appear behind content on some of the pages.
I have tried to use the pages which look fine in the browser as templates but, sadly, when the content is changed/added to, the menu appears behind again.
I would appreciate any help.

Hover Menu and VC apps

Hello,
I've developped some Visual composer applications for my portal. I've also put in place a dropdown hover rmenu.
I'm facing an issue concerning the integration between the 2 components : the hover menu is always displayed under the VC application, which hides the subentries of my menu...
I've read about some parameter called "wmode" that should be set to "transparent" in Flash app to allow the menu to be displayed over my VC app, but can't find where I can specify it in a standard VC app.
Could anyone help me resolving this issue?

Thanks for your answer but I think you didn't understood my question.
What I would like is not displaying or not the hovermenu.
The problem is that my hovermenu is always considered under every VC application, which are displayed as flash objects in a web browser.
Maybe a screenshot could explained better than I:

The problem is that I've got other subentries in my menu following "Warranty claim Tracking" which are not displayed here because they are considered under my VC application.

Just upgraded my BacBook Pro to OS X ( 10.7.2) on a Macbook and unable to open the Finder Menu as it keeps hiding behind screens. Please help.

Usually clicking on the Finder icon on the Dock brings up the Finder window to the front.
Restart and try.

Hover Menu Background

I implemented Hover Menu given by Ameya Pimpalgaonkar in a detailed blog.
My question is how to set the background for the section of the page in which the hover menu appears. It seems to be using the Portal Body background from the selected theme. I'd like to change the background just for that section. I have tried using background-image or background-color in the style sheet jsp which accompanies the hover menu jsp, but the portal page background is still displayed.
Any ideas on where to override this?

does anyone have any suggestions to this problem?
I also imported Ameya´s menu, and it seems my changes to the style-jsp are simply ignored. On the other hand I´m pretty sure, the colors I see don´t come from the Portal theme, since I´m using the "chrome" theme, and my hover menu is still blue-in-blue.
What I tried is changing the given background colors in the jsp, and exporting the whole project as a par file. Then I´ve imported and updated it via Portal Sys-Admin -> Support and so on.
Any Ideas why my style Infos aren´t used(?)
