guys im jus gona give idea or a new concept 4 the iphone4 ie a new feature which can be included in the future..what does the iphone doesn't have when compared to the mac book.??..a"USB port"..i have designed a cable such that in one end its a mini usb male pin and on the other end its a normal usb female pin...so if there is a female pin usb port in the iphone...and with some upgradation in the software(os)
..it will help accessing flash drives,memory cards..etc..the data transfer port which is now used in the iphone can also be transformed.."my main idea is to access flash drives"...im sure tat apple engineers r brainy enough 2 come up wit this concept in some other way...

Firstly, you will have to buy more equipment as the Express doesn't support extra drives.
If you can use BTMM, then the Time Capsule is good, or the AirPort Extreme. However, these don't offer a web interface to access them, or a way of accessing them from iOS.
Synology NASes might work, or if you want to mess around a Raspberry Pi. Possibly even a Mac mini if you have the cash to spend.

If you have the iPad connected to the PC and think that you can simply copy the photos to the drive via the iPad without importing them to the computer first, you can't. Import them to the PC them copy them to the device.

I am running VMWare fusion when I connect any USB device Lion prompts to connect Windows or MAC. Both work for many devices. When I plug in the phone Lion simply does not respond.

I know how to move things from iPhoto to a flash drive, but I'm hoping there is a simpler way to get the photos from my phone to a flash drive, because there are so many photos in iPhotos that I don't need on the flash drive.

There isnt a simple way. You could create a whole new libaray, move all your pictures to that, then move the libaray to a flash drive.
From what you have said, can you not just create an album/event and move all your iPhone photos into that. That would seperate it from the rest of your content, then as part of that process delete all the photos imported off of your iPhone..... just an idea

My iMac OS 10.7.5 will not connect iphone or flash drives via USB.

My iMac (Late 2009) with an OS 10.7.5 will not recognize my iPhone 4S or any flash drives when connected to any USB port on the back of the iMac.
I have reset the PRAM many times and reset the SMC once.
I have repaired disk permissions.
I have run Disk Warroir repair.
Fixed other issues, but not the USB connectivity.
The USB ports will recognize my printer, a powered USB hub, and external HD. It does not show in my System Profiler as seen here. One bit of hope was when I first reset the PRAM and connected my iPhone to the back USB port my iPhone made several connecting sounds in a row, but failed to actually show up in iTunes or iPhoto or anywhere. My iPhone and flash drives do connect via USB on my Powerbook. So it seems to be some problem with my iMac USB drives.
Anything else to try?

Choose Computer from the Finder's Go menu, double-click that drive, and drag the files to the desired locations. You'll also need an application capable of opening them.

How stream music from Time-Capsules hard drive via iPhone and AirPlay without any computer turned on?

Is there a possibility to stream music stored on my time-capsules hard drive directly to my iPhone and then ask the iPhone the send the music (in real-time) via AirPlay to my AirPlay compatible speakers, without having ANY computer turned on? I know that the Sonos system managed this simple task, but Apple? Any news in iOS 4.3 or 5 maybe.

As Chris says... but if the media is on an external drive as above then you also need to make sure the external drive has the same drive letter on the system you are moving to or iTunes won't be able to find the files.

You would need to setup your server as a web server. Anything you can do with a web browser (well, almost anything) you can do with the iPhone. There is no command prompt, or File Explorer, or any other funcionality like that built into the phone.

Connecting to Access Point (WiFi) via iPhone 5

My aim is to have a network configured where all devices can see and communicate with each other, all devices should have access to the internet as standard.
The reason why I have decided on a cascading network setup with a "Master" and "Slave" is because my WiFi didn't reach to all places in the house and our phones / ipads were not connected to the network in the main rooms that we use.
My Network Configuration
(Master) ADSL Modem Router < [PLUG] -- Connected to Belkin Powerline HD (200Mbps) -- [PLUG] > (Slave) Old router WiFi Enabled
1. Slave is connected to the powerline HD plug via a LAN port with the DHCP server settings turned off and the DHCP server pointing to the Master routers IP Address, which has its DHCP server settings switched on.
     - This config works with all my devices laptops, printers, DLNA servers etc.
     - However none of my apple devices work with it, the IP address of my iPhone 5 is being self assigned 169.xxx.xxx.xxx ("x" being a number from1 - to - 254)
Now I want to know is there any reason why my apple iPhone or iPad cannot work within this setup, I can't see why not, my master should assign the iPhone an IP address within the defined range however this doesn't seem to be the case.
This issue got me thinking so I though I would play around with the setup to see if I could get it working. My hunch was that it might be something to do with the powerline so I tried connecting the "Slave" directly to the "Master" and it worked so kind of proved my first theory.
I then tried changing the Slave settings, so that slave would become the DHCP server for its own sub-net, I achieved this by:
2. Slave is connected to the powerline HD plug via internet (WAN) port on the router and turning the DHCP server setting on in the router
     - This config works with my iphones but now means any other devices that I connect to this WiFi cannot use any of my network resources unless I move them on to this wireless network - Which I can't as they are at the other side of the house where this signal does not reach
     - cannot see printers or any shared resources.
Is there any reason why my apple products cannot obtain an IP Address over the PowerLine HD plug or is there an alternative that could be suggested that would allow this to work, I can't run a cable either as its just impractical. If powerlines don't work I would just like to know why? my s4 and s3 both work fine on the first config.
Sorry if this sounds high level just the best way I could word it if any one needs more info I would be more than happy to provide specifics upon request - DESPERATLY want a solution to this.

For starters I am no Cisco guru but at least find my way around a few things here and there.
I work as the IT dude for a company with two branches at different geolocations.
Our local network infrastructure at both HQ and branch offices comprise a Cisco 1941 Router and SF 300 24P Managed switches which hooks up our servers, workstations and VoIP phones.
The dedicated internet [DI] is connected via a Hughes radio link which belongs to the telco and on a different IP class and connects to interface 0/0 of Cisco 1941. Interface 0/1 is then connected to one of the SF 300 24P managed switches on another IP class for LAN [192.168.1/24]
I have three questions.
1. How do I access for example the File Server on the Corporate LAN from home?
2. How do I get workstations at branch offices authenticate with Active Directory Server at the HQ?
3. How do I get to get VoIP phones in branch offices hooked up to HQ VoIP PBX?
