How a Portal Team should work

Hello everybody,
We're a new group (6 persons) in my company and we're developing our first project with SAP Enterprise Portal.
We have a server with SAP EP 7 (Netweaver 2004s) but we suppose, as I've read, we'll have to install a Workplace in our pcs to work daily.
This workplace is a file I can install directly?
What does it have? WAS, Portal, Developer Studio,...?
I imagine we'll have to develop the content in our pcs and then create export packages to install/import in our server. Is this the way to work in SAP EP?
I said this cause, as I've read, not all the content is exportable. I can export iviews, pages, roles, worksets, folders, layouts, systems, desktop & rule set, but... What about all configurations like indexes, KM content, Services that I have activated...? Do I have to make this admin works in the other Portal??
I need please some experienced comments in how a team should work in these environments...
Thanks a lot in advance.
All replies are welcome.
Alberto.

  • How team should work with maven

Could somebody to explain how the team should work with maven.
    For example.
10 developers and 1 team lead are working together.
Everyones has the own module in development.
Next, one made the changes in his module and marked it like
<version>1.3</version>? And say to neighbor whous modul is depend on his: "will be make your modul to point version 1.3 for my
    <artifactId>his-app</artifactId>
    <version>1.3</version> ? Or how?
If he to point the unexisting version the maven will swear.
And next. There's something pom.xml for team lead on top level of another modules of developers which team lead to use for assebling?
Help please to understand how to use this framework

It sounds like the functionality you are looking for is what maven calls snapshots. This allows developers to build and deploy the latest code base on the fly and maven can grab the latest releases without having to continually update the pom.

  • How do you fill in a form that was saved as a template? When I try, the "template" shifts, which is not how a template should work!

How do you fill in a form that was saved as a template? When I try, the "template" shifts, which is not how a template should work!
Templates, as I understand them, are fixed; you can "fill them in" without shifting them. Yet, I've saved doc as a template AND it shifts. Argh!

    Thanks for your response.
I've managed to fix it but I wouldn't recommend the following as I'm sure its unsupported and I'll probably have problems down the line
    On the host
    * mv /etc/zones /etc/zones.bak
    * reboot single user
    * apply kernel patch (the one that ultimately I had to get on and which was giving pre-req dependency errors when running zones)
    * create a new zone now that host system is all up to date
    * Copy the operating system directories of the new zone (the one that's all patched) over the troublesome zone (the one that can't take the patch). Take backups first
    * cd /zones/new-zone/root
    * find sbin -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
    * find usr -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
    * find lib -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root
    * cd /zones/new-zone/root/var
    * find sadm -print | cpio -pudm /zones/bad-zone/root/sadm (this copies patches and pkgs directories and I'm sure a lot of other stuff that I didn't want)
    * mv /etc/zones.bak /etc/zones
    * reboot host
    * boot the old zone up. It should now have up to date patches
I'm sure there are real no-no's in taking this approach but it seems to have worked for me. I'll update if I find there are some horrors down the line

  • .install files and how they should work

    hi
i already looked up the wiki and the forum and found nothing realy related to this.
i am able to set an .install script in the PKGBUILD, but i would like to know how it should work.
i got an game that i would like to add to the AUR but the problem is that its not actually creating a hidden folder in home to save the settings and all.
so i would like to move all the config files and ofcourse the save directory to a hidden home folder and link it to /usr/share/{game}.
i know that i cant do that while building the package itself, but i would like to know WHEN this install script gets executet.
in my opinion, this install script should do what i told above, move the files, link it to the destination.
so, is there actually a site where i can lookup the install= command?

    thank you for that cerebral.
but actually, you do know that just saying "use chmod and chgrp" would be enough?
that is the second time you did a essential part of the work for me, if you repeat that to often, i will never learn
    back to topic:
isnt giving write acces to directorys within /usr or /opt a very very ugly workaround?
i mean, even if its not that easy to solve it otherwise...
    EDIT
i played around a little bit with your tip of changing the group, but i came to a point where i am stuck.
the starterscript itself just cd's into /opt/StarTrade(the game) and runs the, um... 'other' starterscript 'StarTrade'.
the starter in the game directory contains the following lines:
    #!/bin/bash
    exec_path=`dirname $0`
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$exec_path $exec_path/engine.x86
this is because the game itself got the fmod lib within the directory, as far as i heard because its to exotic or... um... whatever^^
so, if you start this script you get the following messege:
    appstub.linux signal handler 11/opt/StarTrade/StarTrade: line 3: 21018 Speicherzugriffsfehler LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$exec_path $exec_path/engine.x86
starting it from the pkg/ directory where you packet it WILL work, maybe because it is in my $HOMEspace, i dont really know
    EDIT2
and it whont work if it is startet with the 'games' group, even if it is installed in $HOME
    EDIT3
finaly it worked, i wrote a sript that backs up all "need write access" files to a backup/ directory and copys them to a .homedirectory, the only question is, "will it work on multi-user systems?"
i cant test this now, i didnt even testet the pack itself because my "testdummy-of-choice" is currently offline, but thankyou for your help

  • Has anyone tried to sync photos with the cable to itunes rather than how it should work via Wifi with iCloud?  The info on the Apple support page says that you should backup to both iTunes & iCloud, but 2x the Genius Bar told me not to.  Help please!

Has anyone tried syncing their photos to iTunes with the cable in addition to how it should work via wi-fi on iCloud?  On the Apple support info page, it says you should do both types oof backup. The Genius Bar told me 2x not to do both.  What experiences has the community had?  I'm also having syncing issues with photos most recently as well as contact updates.  (I have an iPhone 4S with the iOS7.1)  Thanks much!

It sounds like you are mixing up several different things (or not using the terminology that Apple uses).
One thing is backup. You can backup via icloud or via iTunes and there is no reason you cannot do both -- I do and the second link below from Apple gives instructions. Doing a backup will include photos from the Camera Roll in the backup but you will not be able to see the results -- all of the backup data will be stored on iCloud or on your computer in files that are not designed to be accessed by you for any purpose other than restoring to your phone in the event of a problem. More information on backup:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5262
If you simply want to transfer photos from an iPhone to a computer, the terminology Apple uses for that is "import" and it is done without iTunes. New photos (taken after you change the setting) can be done via PhotoStream which is a cloud based option. The other option is via cable. Instructions for both: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
Syncing via iTunes (with regard to photos) is used to transfer photos the other direction -- from the computer to the phone. Instructions for that http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236

  • How Session based web Application should work even after session expiry??

I am looking for an experts opinion that how could I develop an application that should work after the expiry of web session too in the same way as it works in web session.
How the session should be activated.
As I understood, what if I store all the required information in xml and then on unlock session reload all the information from XML.
Am I right or is there any other better way to do using servlets.
Basically I need to implement Lock and UnLock mechanism in an application.
    Thanks

I'm not sure I understand your question. But since no one answered this yet, here is my idea:
If the user's session expires, any unsaved data is lost. The user should expect this.
If do need to save any data, normally you store it it a database table with the user's ID so you can retrieve it. Two free databases are Oracle Lite and MySql. However, this will take quite a bit of time to learn if you are not already familiar with databases. Storing it in a database and retrieving it is much much faster than storing it in a file.

  • How a repeater should work

I would like a little brain check on how I think a repeater should work.  I am working with a WAP4410n and it is not behaving the way I expect it should.  Obviously, a repeater should extend a signal.  Now in order to extend the signal it must be amplified - is this correct?
So, without a repeater I get a signal of -50 db at 50 ft and -80 db at 100 ft and with the repeater I might get -60 db at 100ft. Note that these numbers are just for discussion and not the actual numbers.
Now this tells me that as I move closer to the repeater the signal should get stronger so when my laptop is sitting right next to the repeater I might get a signal of -20 db, right?
I talked to a Cisco tech and he said that signal would be increased at the farther distance but when I move my laptop next to the repeater it should be -50 db not at a stronger signal.  He very clearly said that the signal is NOT amplified.
I know this might be a little confusing but basically it comes down to this, shouldn’t a repeater amplify a signal?
Well if I am correct my repeater is not working. Grrr!
    Thanks
    john

    Hello John,
Repeaters regenerate incoming electrical, wireless or optical signals. With physical media like  Wi-FI, data transmissions can only span a limited distance before the quality of the signal degrades. Repeaters attempt to preserve signal integrity and extend the distance over which data can safely travel.
So when you say amplify, the answer is yes if you are using it in the context of extending the range of an existing wireless connection.

Is it possible to have your whole family on one apple id or is it better to have each person have there own? If each has their own does each id have to buy their own music and apps? How does find my iphone work with one apple id or two? also I am going to be going off to college soon should I make an itunes id for my self and how will I get all the music from the old id?

Is it possible to have your whole family on one apple id or is it better to have each person have there own?
Yes, it is possible. 1 apple ID can be associated with up to 10 devices.
If each has their own does each id have to buy their own music and apps?
    Yes, all purchases are non-transferable.
How does find my iphone work with one apple id or two?
Every device associated with one apple ID through Find my iPhone is tied to that Apple ID; Find my iPhone will work in the same way with up to ten devices associated with one apple ID. You cannot enable Find my iPhone for one device across two apple IDs
I am going to be going off to college soon should I make an itunes id for my self and how will I get all the music from the old id?
If you have authorized a computer with the old apple ID, you can transfer old media purchased through the old to other devices via iTunes. This doesn't mean the media purchases through the old apple ID it transferred to the new account. If you plan to make future purchases and don't wish to share them with others, make your own apple ID.

I've searched to no avail for this problem. Similar posts but none that tell me what to do. I can't add or delete any bookmarks on my iPad 2 running the newest iOS. I know how it's suppose to work, it just isn't working!
It started after the major update to iOS 7.
I can't believe that this is so hard to do. It's just not letting me. I can add a bookmark to the home screen just fine, just not in a bookmarks folder anywhere I try.
I've used Apple products since 2001 and have always loved how intuitive they are. But the Safari browser since iOS 7 has been the worst I've experienced. At least right in the beginning after that update.
I'd really appreciate any help that doesn't just tell me how it's suppose to work...I know that.
My iPad 4 is not affected with the problem and works as it should.

  • YES! How to make PRINT QUOTAS WORK with 10.4

How to make PRINT QUOTAS WORK in 10.4
After struggling for quite some time, I finally found a pretty simple way to make print quotas work.
First, I’ll tell you our setup. We have 3 different computer centers with a variety of eMacs and new Intel iMacs, all clients are running 10.4.8, and each of those 3 centers has its own HP Laserjet 4200 printer. Our dual G5 server is running Server v.10.4.8. Client computers and printers have static IP addresses. All clients are bound to the server with the standard WorkGroup Manager/ LDAPv3 Directory Access scheme - such that all students login to the clients with their network username/password to mount their home directory on the client.
Next, I’ll tell you what does not work. IF YOU WANT PRINT QUOTAS TO WORK, you cannot use Workgroup Manager to assign a printer to any managed user account, user group, or computer group. Why? Because when you go to a client, and Show Info on the printer that is being pushed by Workgroup Manager, you’ll see that the queue name is not the queue that you’ve setup in Server Admin. Instead, you’ll see the queue name is “MCX” or something along those lines. Even if you manually edit the Workgroup print preference file that is being pushed to clients, it still will not work.
Drawbacks of my technique: In my case, students will see all 3 printers (1 from each lab) available to them no matter which lab they are in. Not the best, but for now I think it’ll be worth it to be able to control wasteful printing. Students may be able to move/delete the preference file (see below), but they’ll only be hurting themselves, as they won’t have any printers at all then.
Okay, here’s how I did it:
    1. If you have setup any printers to be pushed out via Workgroup Manager’s preference enforcement to individual users, usergroups, or computer groups, turn those preferences off and leave them off.
    2. Delete any existing printers in your Printer Setup Utility and/or Server Admin. Add and setup a new printer queue using the Server Admin> Print service. I added the printer through the Server Admin application, not Printer Setup Utility (may not matter). However, I did go into that latter utility to set the model of the printer. Now, back in Server Admin, edit the printer queue to turn on these services IPP, LPR (bonjour off), and of course check off the enforce quotas box. (No student Windows clients, so I didn’t tinker with SMB print service). I went ahead and specified the standard cover sheet – it will be handy while troubleshooting.
    3. In Workgroup Manager, select the users that you want to enforce quotas upon, go to the Printer Quota tab (not the preference pane) and, in my case, I selected All Queues and specified a quota, and clicked Save.
    4. Delete all printers that appear in the Printer Setup Utility from each client computer (I know, UGH).
    5. For all network users, you need to edit a preference file and put it into each user’s home directory. That file is “com.apple.print.favorites.plist” and as you guessed, it needs to go into the Library> Preferences folder of every one of your network users’ home directories. Now, the content of that file is crucial… what it should show is the name of the queue(s) you created in Server Admin above, and be immediately followed by an “@” and the address of the server that is hosting that queue. For example, my queue’s name is TCStudentQ and the server’s address is student.mydomain.org… so my preference file has this entry: [email protected]. If you have more than one queue, you’ll have more entries. Be sure that the network user has at least Read level access under Group or Others. I’d recommend making the server System account the Owner of the file, and be sure to lock the file so the users can’t easily trash it. If you don’t know how to create this file in the first place, what you can do is go to a client computer, and log into the client with a dummy network account. Then open Printer Setup Utility, and you should see the queue you created in step 2. Add that printer, and then the file will be created in your dummy account’s home directory under Library> Preferences. Now you can use that file to distribute to other user’s folders… but don’t forget that each user needs Read level access.
    6. That’s it. Works for me. When they exceed the quota, all that spits out is the cover page. It’d be nice if there was a quota monitor utility on the client side so users can see how many pages they have remaining and when the quota will automatically reset. I plan to start the quota on a Monday morning and go on a weekly duration. Not sure what a good starting point is… perhaps 25 pages every school week.
    7. Hey Apple Computer, Inc. Server Developers & Project Managers, I truly hope you’re reading this and can explain why print quotas don’t function as you have documented and advertised. I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but I’ve spent way too much time discovering this workaround, and I know it will help thousands of others with the same problem. I can see where your Print Quota system breaks down, and I think you need to fix these issues or at least document them. Don’t forget to fix serious 10.4 Server bugs before leaving it behind for 10.5 Server – many of us will continue using 10.4 Server for at least another year or two.

    David,
Your assumption that I didn't read the documentation is incorrect. I read that 10.4 documentation over and over - followed it to the letter to no avail. Perhaps it was updated in the last few weeks? So, do you have a fully operable printer quota system in conjunction with a managed computer or user group that has a managed printer pushed to the group via Workgroup Manager? I can push a managed printer to a managed group without a problem, but the quotas won't be enforced unless I use the workaround above and cut Workgroup Manager's managed/pushed printer out of the picture.
I know this is a user-to-user forum - however, I'm also aware that Apple tech support often chime in here, so it doesn't hurt to post a message to them in the context of a larger posting about a 'known issue'. I have used the server feedback form... hasn't seemed to me to be very helpful in the past.

How do i make icloud work if my husband and I share the same itunes account but we dont want to get each others contacts, messages, apps etc?

Each of you should set up your separate iCloud account on your own computer using your Apple ID. This gives you two independent iCloud accounts.
Note that an iPad is not a multi-user device. It can only be synced with one account.

  • Has anyone figured out how to get speech recognition working with sticky keys enabled on mountain lion?

I'm trying to use speech recognition to input text on my iMac running the latest mountain lion, 10.8.3.
    I have sticky keys enabled.
When I try to start speaking by pressing the function key twice nothing happens. I can only get it to work if I disable sticky keys.
The same problem occurs with all the other modifier keys as shortcut, they do not work with sticky keys.
When I try to select a different shortcut, I am unable to select a two key combination, but am limited to one.
If I select the F6 key, or any other single key, I am able to start speech recognition. However the second time that I press the key, it does not stop recognition and process my words. Instead, it restarts the recognition.
Has anyone figured out how to get speech recognition working with sticky keys enabled?
Or a way to get an individual key shortcut to start on the first press and process it on the second?
Or a way to get key combinations to work, as specified by the help:
    Dictation On and Off
    To use Dictation, click On.
When you’re ready to dictate text, place the insertion point where you want the dictated text to appear and press the Fn (function) key twice. When you see the lighted microphone icon and hear a beep, the microphone is ready for you to speak your text.
    Shortcut
By default, you press the Fn (Function) key twice to start dictation. If you like, you can choose a different shortcut from the menu.
To create a shortcut that’s not in the list, choose Customize, and then press the keys you want to use. You can press two or more keys to create your shortcut.

I noticed with version 10.8.4 of OS X that I am now able to select F6 to activate, and the return key to complete the speech recognition. This is still different than the description of how these should function that's included in the help, but at least it's an improvement.

  • How to get IIOP to work with port 2481

I've seen a pile of threads on problems getting IIOP to work in
JDeveloper 2.0. Here is one possible solution to the problem.
First, the server should be running TCP/IP and this must be
working. Second, the IP address must be static (for this
solution). Third, a published entry should NOT exist in your
DNS for this server (e.g., can't ping this server name from
    outside).
On your client DO make an entry in your local 'hosts' file so
you can reference the IP easier. This is NOT required as you
can still reference the IP address in the Connection Wizard Host
    ID field.
On the server make sure the LISTENER.ORA is setup to reference
the HOST by the machine name.
For example, on an NT Oracle 8i Server with the DNS enabled (in
the NT network configuration) with a host name of ORA_SVR in
domain MY_DOMAIN.COM, the setup would look like this:
    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC0))
    (PROTOCOL_STACK =
    (PRESENTATION = TTC)
    (SESSION = NS)
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ora_svr)(PORT = 1521))
    (PROTOCOL_STACK =
    (PRESENTATION = TTC)
    (SESSION = NS)
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ora_svr)(PORT = 2481))
    (PROTOCOL_STACK =
    (PRESENTATION = GIOP)
    (SESSION = RAW)
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
    (ORACLE_HOME = D:\Oracle\Ora81)
    (PROGRAM = extproc)
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = ORCL)
    (ORACLE_HOME = D:\Oracle\Ora81)
    (SID_NAME = ORCL)
Now, in the INIT.ORA file make sure you use the IP address for
the host name NOT the actual host name used above. Here is the
snipit that should be entered to enable the MTS and configure it
properly. Note that 127.0.0.1 (local_host) will not work - at
least not for me. The IP of '198.100.0.10' is used as an
example here, you would enter the static server IP where the
    database (ORA_SVR) is.
    mts_dispatchers = "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=198.100.0.10)
    (PORT=2222))(DISPATCHERS=1)
    (PRE=oracle.aurora.server.SGiopServer)"
    mts_dispatchers = "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=198.100.0.10)
    (PORT=2223))(DISPATCHERS=1)(PRE=oracle.aurora.server.GiopServer)"
    # Uncomment the following two lines when your dispatcher are
    configured to listen
    # on SSL ports (sqlnet.ora)
    # mts_dispatchers = "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCPS)(HOST=198.100.0.10)
    (PORT=5555))(DISPATCHERS=1)
    (PRE=oracle.aurora.server.SGiopServer)"
    # mts_dispatchers = "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCPS)(HOST=198.100.0.10)
    (PORT=5556))(DISPATCHERS=1)(PRE=oracle.aurora.server.GiopServer)"
    mts_max_dispatchers = 5
    mts_servers = 1
Next, on the server also ensure that the TNSNAMES.ORA is setup
    with (at least) these entries:
    ORCL.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (SOURCE_ROUTE = OFF)
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ORA_SVR)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL)
    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (SOURCE_ROUTE = OFF)
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(Key = EXTPROC0))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = PLSExtProc)
    (PRESENTATION = RO)
Finally, stop the listener with 'LSNRCTL STOP' and shutdown the
database instance using SVRMGRL or the NT service control. Then
restart the listener with 'LSNRCTL START' and restart the
    database instance.
If all went well, JDBC, IIOP and all your other Oracle tools
should work. Check the listener log if not. If you
see 'REJECTED' messages on port 2481, the listener still not
making a connection with the dispatcher.
I assume if you had a DNS entry for your server the IP would not
be necessary in the dispatcher. I'm not sure how it resolves IP
addresses. Part of the problem I noticed was the way the HOST
was being translated by the Dispatcher. If you had
used 'ORA_SVR' in my example, it would have translated
into 'ora_svr.my_domain.com' which, would fail since the
listener didn't find that host with a database instance
of 'ORCL' running on it. At least that's what I think is
happening. Bottom line, this solved my configuration problem
and I thought it might help others. If it doesn't work for you,
    well, sorry.

: First, the server should be running TCP/IP and this must be
: working. Second, the IP address must be static (for this
: solution). Third, a published entry should NOT exist in your
: DNS for this server (e.g., can't ping this server name from
    : outside).
: On your client DO make an entry in your local 'hosts' file so
: you can reference the IP easier. This is NOT required as you
: can still reference the IP address in the Connection Wizard
    Host
    : ID field.
: On the server make sure the LISTENER.ORA is setup to reference
: the HOST by the machine name.
: For example, on an NT Oracle 8i Server with the DNS enabled
    (in
: the NT network configuration) with a host name of ORA_SVR in
: domain MY_DOMAIN.COM, the setup would look like this:
    : LISTENER =
    : (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    : (DESCRIPTION =
    : (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC0))
    : (PROTOCOL_STACK =
    : (PRESENTATION = TTC)
    : (SESSION = NS)
    : (DESCRIPTION =
    : (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ora_svr)(PORT = 1521))
    : (PROTOCOL_STACK =
    : (PRESENTATION = TTC)
    : (SESSION = NS)
    : (DESCRIPTION =
    : (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ora_svr)(PORT = 2481))
    : (PROTOCOL_STACK =
    : (PRESENTATION = GIOP)
    : (SESSION = RAW)
    : SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    : (SID_LIST =
    : (SID_DESC =
    : (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
    : (ORACLE_HOME = D:\Oracle\Ora81)
    : (PROGRAM = extproc)
    : (SID_DESC =
    : (GLOBAL_DBNAME = ORCL)
    : (ORACLE_HOME = D:\Oracle\Ora81)
    : (SID_NAME = ORCL)
: Now, in the INIT.ORA file make sure you use the IP address for
: the host name NOT the actual host name used above. Here is
    the
: snipit that should be entered to enable the MTS and configure
    it
: properly. Note that 127.0.0.1 (local_host) will not work - at
: least not for me. The IP of '198.100.0.10' is used as an
: example here, you would enter the static server IP where the
    : database (ORA_SVR) is.
    : mts_dispatchers = "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=198.100.0.10)
    : (PORT=2222))(DISPATCHERS=1)
    : (PRE=oracle.aurora.server.SGiopServer)"
    : mts_dispatchers = "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=198.100.0.10)
    : (PORT=2223))(DISPATCHERS=1)
    (PRE=oracle.aurora.server.GiopServer)"
: # Uncomment the following two lines when your dispatcher are
    : configured to listen
    : # on SSL ports (sqlnet.ora)
    : # mts_dispatchers = "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCPS)
    (HOST=198.100.0.10)
    : (PORT=5555))(DISPATCHERS=1)
    : (PRE=oracle.aurora.server.SGiopServer)"
    : # mts_dispatchers = "(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCPS)
    (HOST=198.100.0.10)
    : (PORT=5556))(DISPATCHERS=1)
    (PRE=oracle.aurora.server.GiopServer)"
    : mts_max_dispatchers = 5
    : mts_servers = 1
: Next, on the server also ensure that the TNSNAMES.ORA is setup
: with (at least) these entries:
    : ORCL.WORLD =
    : (DESCRIPTION =
    : (SOURCE_ROUTE = OFF)
    : (ADDRESS_LIST =
    : (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = ORA_SVR)(PORT = 1521))
    : (CONNECT_DATA =
    : (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL)
    : EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA.WORLD =
    : (DESCRIPTION =
    : (SOURCE_ROUTE = OFF)
    : (ADDRESS_LIST =
    : (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(Key = EXTPROC0))
    : (CONNECT_DATA =
    : (SID = PLSExtProc)
    : (PRESENTATION = RO)
: Finally, stop the listener with 'LSNRCTL STOP' and shutdown
    the
: database instance using SVRMGRL or the NT service control.
    Then
: restart the listener with 'LSNRCTL START' and restart the
    : database instance.
: If all went well, JDBC, IIOP and all your other Oracle tools
: should work. Check the listener log if not. If you
: see 'REJECTED' messages on port 2481, the listener still not
: making a connection with the dispatcher.
: I assume if you had a DNS entry for your server the IP would
    not
: be necessary in the dispatcher. I'm not sure how it resolves
    IP
: addresses. Part of the problem I noticed was the way the HOST
: was being translated by the Dispatcher. If you had
: used 'ORA_SVR' in my example, it would have translated
: into 'ora_svr.my_domain.com' which, would fail since the
: listener didn't find that host with a database instance
: of 'ORCL' running on it. At least that's what I think is
: happening. Bottom line, this solved my configuration problem
: and I thought it might help others. If it doesn't work for
    you,
    : well, sorry.

  • I bougth the sf2 program change for garagaband, but what is it exactly and how do I make it work?

I couldn't find out what exactly the sf2 program change is, but it seemed nice, so I bought it, hoping that it would explain itself when installed. It hasn't. I did hope that it would give me some more midi instruments, and it seems like it should, but how to get them into garaband (10.0.2)?
This thread seems to explain it: How to do use Soundfonts (.sf2 files) in GarageBand 10?
It says I can add "audio unit plugins" to a track. Now I don't know what an audio unit plugin is, but I assume that it is a confusing word for a sound, and that it refers specifically to the sf2 sounds. I got as far as the smart control inspector but then "Click an empty part of the Audio Units area, choose Audio Units, then choose a plug-in from the submenu." What is the audion units area? I have clicked the empty part of whatever I could find here, but there is no submenu anywhere.
Is there anybody out there who could give a really basic explanation of what it is that I have purchased and how I can make it work? I would really apreciate it.
    Ahston

I got a bit further. I found the submenu and I am able to load a default instrument. But I cannot change that instrument to any other.
