How a process is launched from JSP in IdM 7.0?

I am trying to find out how to launch a process from JSP page so that I can add my own workflow to the JSP page or even creating my own JSP pags launching my own process.
I found an exmpale in the application:
C:\tomcat\webapps\idm\user\processLaunch.jsp
which is able to launch the following processes defined in System Configuration Object:
<Attribute name='endUserUpdateGroups' value='End User Update Groups'/>
<Attribute name='endUserUpdateMyGroups' value='End User Update My Groups'/>
<Attribute name='endUserUpdateMyResources' value='End User Update My Resources'/>
<Attribute name='endUserUpdateMyRoles' value='End User Update My Roles'/>
<Attribute name='endUserUpdateResources' value='End User Update Resources'/>
<Attribute name='endUserUpdateRoles' value='End User Update Roles'/>
In the jsp code, I see the following line:
<jsp:useBean id="form" scope="page"
class="com.waveset.ui.web.task.TaskLaunchForm"/>
However I do not see where the process name is referenced, then at the end, I see:
String url = form.process(requestState);
which seems to load the process at last.
Can anyone explain to me?
Thank you.

Your response confirmed what I guessed. I will try to launch my own workflow like that. Did you do something similar before?
It's just there is no explicit code passing the id value to the object, I do not see how the jsp will be able to load the process. I am just afraid I missed something that's handled behind the scene. Then when I copy the way they do it, my customized process is not known by the system, then of course I will fail.
I will keep you posted if that works.

  • How to Process a picture from a Camera to Labview

    I want to try and get a picture processed through Labview from a camera. For example I want to take a picture of a cup on a table and process it through Labview so that I can write a program for a robotic arm to pick up the cup from the table. I would like someone to advice me on how to process the picture from the camera and display it on Labview. Are there any examples in Labview, or the internet that can help put me in the right direction?

    I would recommend starting small and have clear objectives in mind.  For example clearly define what you want your robot to do.  Do you want it to pick up "a" cup or anything that looks like a cup.   Things like learning algorithms, image processing, IMAQ, 3D motion control all come to mind.  These are subjects outside the scope of Labview but may be required in addition to understanding how to program your task in Labview.  There are dozens of examples in Labview on these subjects.  Take the task one step at a time and move from there.  It may also be helpful in the forum to give people an idea of your background.   If you are new to Labview this may be a very hard first program.  SS

  • HCM Processes & Forms : Migrating from JSPs to Web Dynpro for ABAP

    We are pretty well invested in HCM Processes and Forms.  We currently use JSP based forms as the UI for our notifications.   We do not, use Adobe Forms.
    For a number of reasons, we want to transition to forms based in Web Dynpro for ABAP.
    We want to bring a new scenario online using WD4A.  Down the road, weu2019ll very likely transition our old JSPs over to the new methodology as well.
    I would expect that this is pretty well doable.  As part of a proof of concept, we did launch notifications from the web dynpro environment, had them initiate workflow, etc .  Weu2019ve also pulled up our web dynpro app from the UWL and portal.
    Has anyone gone through this specific exercise u2013 moving from JSPs to WD4A?  We are particularly interested in where the integration points will be, working with ISR_PROCESS_EVENT, etc.
    Your comments, suggestions, references, etc. are welcomed, as well as any discussion you may offer.
    Thanksu2026
    ...Mike

    And along the same lines, any thoughts around which of the following QISRDPROCESS_TYPEs might be a better choice?
    Entry Using ITS Service
    Entry Using Adobe PDF
    We currently use the ITS Service type.  I think this may be our first direction, replacing url links with links to our webdynpro application which woulds need to integrate calls through ISR_PROCESS_EVENT
    The Adobe Type seems interesting - Again, we do not, nor will, have Adobe Forms in place for this development.  But, I've read some discussion that folks have enhanced out of actual Adobe Form rendering.
    Again, the thoughts of the community are welcomed here.
    Thanks...

  • How to execute batch file from JSP

    hi frens !
    i wanna know how to execute batch file from my JSP.i am using exec() method to get call the batch file. but its not working ....plz help
    here mine code:-
    File F = new File("C:/var.bat");
         try{
          if (F.exists())
            Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
            String url=F.getAbsolutePath();
             Process proc = rt.exec(url);
            proc.waitFor();
            proc.destroy();
            catch(Exception IOEx){
           System.out.println(IOEx);
      }Thanks and Regards
    Allwyn

    You might improve your chances of getting help if you do two things:
    1) Explain what "not working" means.
    2) ChangeSystem.out.println(IOEx); to IOEx.printStackTrace(); (in the eventhat is in fact related to "not working").

  • How to call java bean from jsp

    hi
    How to call a java bean from jsp page..
    Is any other way to call javabean from jsp page apart from this sample code...
    <jsp:useBean id="obj" class="com.devsphere.articles.calltag.TestBean"/>
    thnx in advance

    If you also use servlets, you can attach beans to the request or session and use them directly in your JSP's. So if you do:
    request.setAttribute("name", yourBean);and then forward to a JSP, you can reference the bean like:
    ${requestScope.name}

  • How to pass an object from jsp to other jsp using SendRedirect

    How to pass an object from one jsp to the other jsp using ssendRedirect with out using the session
    I am having 2 jsps
    x.jsp and y.jsp
    From x.jsp using sendRedirect iam going to y.jsp
    From x.jsp i have pass an object to the y.jsp
    Is it possible without putting the object in session
    Is it possible using EncodeUrl
    Please help me Its Urgent

    Is it possible without putting the object in sessionAnything is possible. Would you accept that it is very difficult?
    When you send a redirect, it tells the browser to send a new request for the target page. That means any request parameters/attributes are lost.
    Is it possible using EncodeUrl response.encodeURL() puts the session id into a url if the browser does not support cookies. It is purely for retaining the session.
    There are two ways that you can communicate across a sendRedirect.
    1 - use the session
    2 - pass a parameter in the url.
    parameters are string based, so passing objects is almost out of the question.
    Potentially you could serialize your object, encode it in base64 (so it is composed completely as characters) and pass it as a parameter to the other page, where you retrieve it, unencode it, and then load the serialized object.
    Or you can just use the session.

  • How to process the HTMLs or JSP pages?

    Hi all. my program need to process the HTML or JSP pages. But they are different from the XML. When I use SAXParser or something like that to process the HTML, Exception will always occur. Especially for processing the element "<% .... %>". So can anyone teach me the way to processing the HTML or JSP pages?

    These are from a Page Layout document. If you are using Word Processing, the button is called Sections instead of Pages but has the same icon.

    Although you could do it, why would you put this kind of logic into a presentation file like JSP? It depends on the API you want to use:

    Hi Ashok,
    You can use rwservlet - nothing really to do with JDeveloper. Once you have report server up and running (hint: read http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/bi.1012/b14048/toc.htm), you can call a report like this:
    http://server:port/rwservlet?report=my_report.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=html&p_my_parameter=xxx etcHope this helps,
    John

  • Urgent-how to access custom tag from jsp tag

    I have a problem accessing a custom tag from a jsp expression.
    Details: I have a custom tag that returns a string variable. I need to access that variable from jsp expression <%%>.
    Can any body help me?

    Tags don't "return" values as in the normal sense.
    They can only support TEI (Tag Extra Information) that just stuffs a declared variable into the page's state.
    For example, if the tag class had a public method called getValue(), you could do the following:
    <xmp:mytag id="foo"/>
    <%
    out.println("value is " + foo.getValue());
    %>
