The process of figuring out what you might want to create as a line item dimension can vary a bit, it can depend a lot on your exisitng level of domain expertise (how well do you know the data in question). If you are familiar with the data, I would recommend you just take an initial guess at what you believe could be line item dimensions. If you are not familiar witht the data, you might want to examine the source more to understand the cardinality of different characteristics and identify any relationships between characteristics.
I really encourage people to just go ahead and model it and load some data and review, rather than agonizing over developing the theoretically perfect model on paper before they start. You learn a lot more that way.
Any of the SAP rules of thumb, are just that, general rules, not a pronouncement from God. There are always extenuating or unique circumstances that might warrant disregarding the rule, e.g. if the InfoCube will never become very large, maybe some of the concerns just are not worth your effort.
With every release of the Oracle (and the other DBs too)Oracle keeps getting better at data warehousing and star schemas. Oracle 10i is supposed to have made handling bitmap indices much more efficient, which is on of the factors influencing the decision to create a line item dimension.

As far as 2Q - generally, it's better to have several small dimensions than one larger dimension. But having said that, combining a few very small dimensions into another slightly larger (but still small) dimension is a good idea. It keeps the number of table joins down which will improve query performance. You would do this with characterisitcs that have very few values, e.g. yes/no indicators.
e.g.
You have 8 characteristics that all of which have only two values. You put them in one dimension, and the max size of the dimension table is still only 2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2 or 256 rows. If you had these characteristics in other much larger dimensions, it's not hard to see it causing those dimensions to double, perhaps creating hundreds of thousands of dimension table rows to be created.

I think u can not restrict the no of line items to be created in a PO in std SAP .U take a help of the ABAP ppl . They can write a program in such a way that in the ME21N, program checks
the number of line items copied from purchase requisition,If it is more than 10, it should issue an error message.

After fetching data into table, find the number of internal table entries using Describe statement.
Then, use Do loop till w_count becomes w_lines( no. of entries ) incrementing the count for every item.

How can I easily change black line art to a colour? (Or color?)

I have line art on a transparent layer. That is, it's not part of a white layer, but just black on nothing. I want to easily change that to a colour without changing the quality of the line. I know I can put a screen layer above it with a colour and that makes the black coloured, but it only shows up if I flatten it on to white. Otherwise, that's exactly the look I want, just not on a flattened white layer. I need to keep the line on the transparent layer so that I can paint under it, so I can't flatten it on to white. I also don't want to select the line and fill it as that significantly changes the quality of the line. I just want to change the colour of the line without chaning it's density, or any pixels. Any idea how to do this?

I believe your layer with lines has pure black pixels with transparency producing it's gray appearance. An adjustment can't make black blacker than black
A mask is grayscale without transparency. So if you convert the transparency to a mask, you have grayscale pixels in the mask which can be affected by an adjustment. The result will be a change in the appearance of the masked layer.

I changed my email address a few years ago. I did not have any problems after this change until I got a new computer. Now I cannot play items that were purchased under the previous email. I entered the password that I used and it doesn't recognize it. I tried "forgot your password" in every combination possible. I never received any emails at the old email address. Now the old email address no longer even exists. How can I access these hundreds of items?

The old email address may well still be valid as your iTunes AppleID, however if you have no other email associated with that ID you clearly won't get any automated emails to it.
I still use an old defunct email for my iTunes AppleID.

       clicked sales order which is showing in ALV grid display
       before that i am locking that sales order using FM
       CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_EVVBAKE' and for
       changing the status i am using FM
        CALL FUNCTION 'STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN'
        which doesnt have commit statement inside this FM so
       i have explictly written this commit statement if this FM
       gives SY-SUBRC = 0 but with this statement it unlock my
       sales order because of the commit functionality.
also this FM is in loop for all line items for that sales order
please help me with that!!!!

I have created delivery against sales order.
While picking (during delivery PGI), I selected two batches to suffice the delivery qty. Please refer the example quoted below.
Sales order (SO1) - Material (Mat1) - qty (15 ea)
Delivery against sales order (Del1) - batch split: batch1 - 10 ea
                                                                     batch2 - 5 ea
In table LIPS: when I enter delivery number as "Del1" and execute, I get 2 records:
   del no.     Item No.      Material   Qty       Batch no       Sales Order no     Sales Order Item no
1. DEL1       10              Mat1        10 ea    batch1          SO1                    10
2. DEL1       20              Mat1         5 ea     batch2         ______                 ____
Thus in the 2nd record, the Sales order no.(LIPS-VGBEL) and sales order item no. (LIPS-VGPOS) does not get updated.
I have to develop a report to display the Sales Order number and sales order line item number for each batch of the Delivery for the same item number. Please guide me to know how I can get the same.

I think you can just delete it in the sales order directly, if you are using make-to-order scenario, then there will be special stock left for the sales order as the production has been goods receipt, you need to use MM transaction move the stock to unrestricted use stock. If you are using make-to-stock scenario, there should be no further problem. If you are using assembly order, please try to reject the sales order item to see if it could fullfill your requirement.

BOM Change - Delete an item(s) and insert new line items

We need to mass update BOMs like for some of the existing BOM's we need to delete some line items and insert new line items. We want to use the BOMMAT04 IDOC in LSMW but I'd like to know couple of things before I go ahead with that approach
For instance, I've a finished good material 12345678 and it has three components
                      a) Item 0010 Material 30101010 of quantity 10
                      b) Item 0020 Material 30101011 of quantity 11
                      C) Item 0030 Material 30101012 of quantity 12
Now, I'd like delete Item 0010 and add a new item 0040 Material 30101013 of quantity 13.
In the segment E1STKOM, there is LOEKZ (Deletion Flag) but I dont want to flag for deletion but instead delete the whole line item and add a new line item.
Is there any way to achieve this using BOMMAT04 IDOC? If not, can you please suggest me a better way to do it

Dear Srinivas,
1.IF you want to change for an individual BOM,use CS02,select the item which you want to delete,select the entire and click on
delete button and then add new line items and save.
2.For Mass changes of BOM you can use CS20.
3.Check these functional module's also if you want to change using a report,
CS_BI_BOM_CHANGE_BATCH_INPUT   Change bill of material via batch input
CSEP_MAT_BOM_SELECT_CHANGE     API Bills of Material: Select BOM(s)

How can I insert a vertical line between two underlined unfilled with text lines. I am trying to construct an invoice and I need a break. If I try any of the shapes or inset functions it eliminates my underlined lines and shifts the whole document.

If I try any of the functions the whole document shifts to the right and I loose some of the lines. Is there a work around, or is I work not able to do what I want?

It sounds as though you may have "Object Causes Wrap" activated for the Line Shape. This will push other content away.

I've done some research on the SQLite database. Whenever Aperture hangs up (like during auto-stack or opening the filter hud) there are thousands of SQLite queries happening. These SQLite queries cause massive file I/O because the database is stored on the disk as 1kb pages. However, the OS is caching the database file; mine's only 12MB. I'm trying to track down some performance numbers for SQLite on osx but having trouble.
It's starting to look like most of the speed problems are in the libraries that Aperture uses instead of the actual Aperture code. Of course, that doesn't completely let the developers off the hook since they choose to use them in the first place.
Oh, and if anyone is curious, the database is completely open to queries using the command line sqlite3 tool. Here's the language reference http://www.sqlite.org/lang.html
