There is no other way. Without the correct credentials you won't be able to use it.
Activation Lock cannot be bypassed, Apple will not help unless you have the original receipt (but not from some 3rd party)

You can't fix this, called Activation Lock, & currently there is no way around it. With no way to contact the previous owner, & no way to get your money back, you own a useless paperweight.
Apple can't/won't help you.

I use icloud on the web, and create events in my boss's calendar everyday.
Sometimes when I create an event it's fine, other times I get this error message after I create an event:

When I click "ok" the error message and the event then disappears from view on the calendar.
When I refresh the browser the event is visable, but when I try to open it the same error message appears.
What gives?
The event is still visable on the calendar on my iPhone, but i am not able to edit it when I open it on my iPhone.
If I try to delete the event on my iPhone so I can re-create it on the iCloud it doesn't delete properly.
Any advice?
I am frustrated because it's hit and miss. I am consistant in the way I create my events, so why do I get this error message half the time?

Sorry, you can't. If your phone is carrier locked, you will need a sim card from that carrier, to activate it.

The first message that AirPort Utility will display during the auto setup will be that the Express will be confgured to "extend" the network. look in settings:sounds and be sure you have a ring tone set, and both vibrate buttons are off. Also be sure the volume slider id as far right as is comfortable.

You should totally erase the device and start all over again. Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap the old ID and sign out. Sign in with yours. If you are running iOS 6 .... ITunes and App Stores instead of Store.
