How can I control outgoing mails

In Entourage, i used before, there was a Folder for outgoing mails, where i was able to manage them. In <Mail> i find no possibility to stop or to change an outgoing message.

Hi Fritz:
Your English is FAR better than my Deutsch (Ich bin ein Wisconsonite).  I can barely ask for the train to Zermatt (one of my favorite places on Earth).
Anyway, I think I understand your question.  If you mean is there a way to stop the recipient of an E-mail from actually getting it (after you sent it), the answer is no (in Apple's Mail application).  Entourage (a Microsoft application) is a good program.  As I recall (I used Outlook years ago in my corporate world) the Microsoft mail applications have a feature to "un-send" E-mail).  However, I think that only worked if the mail was sent to someone on the same network.  You could not retrieve mail from someone outside your own network.

  • Obsessive emailing- how can i block OUTGOING mail ??

    aside from getting therapy, a lobotomy, or this person beaming up to another dimension, how can i stop myself (via MAIL) from emailing them?? i mean, RULES doesn't have a way to block your own outgoing mail.
    i know i sound insane and it's a matter of self control but i would love to PROHIBIT my MAIL from sending outgoing to one recipient...

    BDAqua is offering really good advice.
    As always.
    Another thing you might try is
    write the email
    print it out
    delete the email
    put the copy in a box.
    Everytime you are temped to respond
    do the same thing.
    You'll let some steam out -- feelings . . .
    And the copy will give you validation.
    Just never, never actually send it.
    It's worked for me for a long time.
    Most times when I'm tempted to really let someone have it,
    or I know I'm out of control,
    I write the letter, print it out, and press the delete key.
    It also helps to put your favorite music on afterward.
    Hang in there, Amy.

  • How can I get outgoing mail in Mail program to work consistently?

    Some times using Mail messages can be sent immediately on any of my several accounts including a gmail account. Other times no mail can be sent perhaps until the next day. It just read sending. If I transfer my outgoing gmail messages to gmail on safari I can send it immediately. I am changing no settings and incoming mail is coming in without difficulty. This is most frustrating if I am trying to response to a message and I can't get it out until the next day. Any suggestions? Thank you

    I have had sbcglobal dsl and now Uverse and periodically have had the problem of outgoing mail being rejected by the smtp server. The problem has been changes made at the server by the isp. I make no changes and things go from working to not working. Over the last 6 years I have gotten pretty good and "fixing" the problem by deleting accounts and reentering the data in the Mail program and at the AT&T website. A process they call verification is involved. Now it is broken and it is unfixable.
    I have spent the better part of the last 3 days trying to get a third party or vanity email address to verify. The panels say I have successfully verified my address but it will not send. Along the way I have read a lot of stuff on various forums and am thinking that the issue may be the same between at&t and other big providers... they shut down 3rd party address on smtp in their war on spam.
    So we called att support and were told we would have to pay for premium support. We asked instead to cancel our service. We signed up with a local dsl service (Houston) and discovered to our dismay that DSL does not equal DSL. The local service has never been able to swap over a Uverse dsl service. So we were back to Uverse to have Uverse dsl canceled and regular at&t dsl installed.... it is like dealing with two different companies. Along the way we discover that at our location we will lose the 6 Mbps service and only be able to get 1.5 Mbps... our modem will have to be changed out and at this point we are sad and weakened. The Uverse rep offers to lower the premium support charge from $30 to $15 so we gave in and signed up for it. The next day I get the very polite and seemingly competent Paulo on the line. We get set up for him to take over the cursor and we start reviewing my settings. Bottomline. I had all my settings perfect... practice, practice etc. They were absolutely correct on every panel. Paulo got to see that the verification does not work and that it is not possible to set up a "reply to" third party address that will work. Paulo was very nice and very baffled. He invited me to call back but he really had no idea about what to do to get things working.
    By this time I am feeling pretty defeated and trapped... I cannot reasonably move to another provider and no one at AT&T can make it work. There is a happy ending for me in this though and this could work for someone else which is why I am making this long post. My vanity email is from an email forwarding service where I have had an account for 12 years. My isps change as my job has moved me overseas and back and across the US several times... my email address does not change. The company I use is pobox.com I was looking around at their website and noticed that my service includes use of their smtp server. I printed off the instructions, which they have for about 20 mail clients, pc, mac, et al and within 10 minutes I was sending mail from [email protected]. I got no error messages and when the mail arrived it showed from [email protected] and when we replied to that email it put [email protected] in the to:. Man am I happy! This fix did not cost me incremental $ and it was easy. The service costs $20 per year for a single year subscription... I have a 5 yr which runs me $15 per year. There are other benefits to the service... decent spam filtering and url forwarding.
    If you are having a problem with a vanity address not working through your isp smtp server and you can stomach $20 per year, go on over to pobox.com and tell them Pam sent you.
    ps the other thing that I got to work was sending mail out from my mobileme account using their smtp server. Mobileme will not allow me to use my vanity address but I am happier having .mac in my return address than att or sbcglobal.

  • How can i get outgoing mail to display the "from" email address

    I have an ipad model A1474  running iOS 8.0.2.
    When I send email, I can't figure out how to get the "from" field appear in outgoing messages.
    Any ideas?

    according to the online help, I'm supposed to click on Title to get to the titles settings as follows
    "Adjust a title’s settings
    You can modify a title’s default settings in the Title inspector.
    Select a title in the Timeline.
    Choose Window > Show Inspector (or press Command-4), and click the Title button at the top of the pane that appears.
    Adjust the available settings as needed.
    Note:  You can also keyframe many of the settings in both the Title and Text inspectors."
    Gsoing to the Text inspector, there does not seem to be anything in the menu where I can change the color of the text.   Based on the photo that appears with the above instructions --it appears the ability to change ink color is under the Published Parameters that is the menu I cannot get to 'drop'

    You say you have the pse 5 disk?
    I guess you do't have a dvd drive on your new windows 8 computer?
    Do you have access to another computer with a dvd drive?
    Anyway if you can find another computer with a dvd drive you could copy the pse 5 install disc to removable device like a camera card or flash drive.
    You can also buy cheap usb dvd drives.

  • How can I setup a mail-specific passcode/restriction on iPad used by multiple family members?

    How can I setup a mail-specific passcode/restriction on iPad used by multiple family members?
    Have an Exchange mail account setup and accessible in my mail on iPad... however my kids use it and i would like to restrict them from accessing this specific portion of the device.  I tried viewing restriction options and do not see that i can apply a restriction specifically to Mail.  Thanks for your help.

    Not a feature of iOS. Check the AppStore to see if there are other
    mail apps that allow passcode protection.
    Or use Safari to log onto your email via a web-based interface and
    enter your credentials each time. A bit slower, but the kids will
    not know the details to login.

  • How can I control selection on a PDF

    I have Acrobat Pro 9 Pro build 9.4.6 and am constantly exporting documents from indesign to .pdf, and also building docs in the 'combine' feature from mixed pages.
    While everything seems to go reasonably well, I have a few problems that are due either to my ignorance, or bugs.
    1.  The biggie; How can I control what I select, for the purpose of copying, moving and deleting?   When I drag the touch-up object tool over my selection, it selects what it wants to most of the time; sometimes it selects (i.e., puts a light blue box around) the entire page, instead of my selection (no pages are scanned).  There are very few instances when I get exactly what I want; there are usually a few lines above or below, no matter how careful I am in my selection.  The funny thing is that this is not a constant; sometimes, the tool works perfectly!  and I have my heart in my mouth every time I really need it to work, hoping that it will not force me to go back to Indesign to make minor corrections.   Perhaps my problems are connected to options I select when exporting my indds, but I've tried checking, clearing, and selecting various combinations and nothing seems to work.
    Sometimes, the text selection tool is strange; a wide blue swath develops over the selected text, even though it is still usually possible to  edit the text in this condition.  And BTW, is there anything to do about the fact that some text can't be edited at all because a suitable font replacement can't be found?  Can't a font be added somehow that will take care of this?
    2. Headers and Footers; fairly effortless, but if the footer contains two rows and I want them centered, the second row looks centered in the preview but not in the doc.  I have to go back to the footer dialog and guesstimate how many spaces to place before the second row to get it to look centered.  Also, is there any way to place a logo in a header?  That would be one of my requests for the next version of Acrobat, if not.
    3.Hyperlinks; they don't always work,even though I check Hyperlinks in the Export settings.  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
    4.  Typwriter toolbar; it also seems to offer font and size changes whenever it feels like it, and I've tried all different orders of typing, selecting, etc.

    It's me again, sorry!  I wanted to save what I'd written, and my message popped up to the board.
    Thank you for any advice anyone has!
    PS  My indd and acrobat are the same version, as they came in the same package (CS4).  Windows XP sp3.
    Oh, one more thing I just remembered, as long as I'm complaining; sometimes if I place an object (the logo) and copy it to another page, it disappears on the original page, as if I've cut it.  Any fix for that?  (strange how I can edit tmy 'reply' but not my original post...well, at least I found where to ask a question fairly quickly!)

  • TS2776 How can I transfer e-mail contacts from one IPad to another?

    How can I transfer e-mail contacts from one IPad to another?

    Depends on how big the file is.  If itis only a couple of pages, or mostly text, the easiest way would be to e mail it.  If it is a very large file you are going to need wifi.  Take both pads to starbucks, and e mail it from there.  Or if you have wifi, use drop box, for example.
    Your other choice, avoiding wifi would be a bluetooth type transfer.  There is an app call bluetooth file lite that reads like it will do what you need.   The good news is it is free.  The bad news is that it has terrible ratings.  For grins, i am installing it now on a pad and a phone, and will see if it works.
    With a bluetooth method, you need both devices in  the same place.  If you are trying to send your file across country, bluetooth will not work for you.  you need e mail or drop box type solution, and if the file is big, you will almost certainly need wifi.

  • How can I control the zoom on my mac mouse?

    How can I control the zoom function on my mouse? In the middle of working on things my hand will rub the mouse by accident and all of a sudden the context within the screen is large. I have no idea of how to work this feature on my mouse and most times to get it to return to normal, I have to escape out of the work I am performing.

    If you are pressing the "Control" button on the Mac keyboard, scrolling up will zoom in and scrolling down will zoom out. You can disable this if it annoys you through System Preferences > Universal Access. If you are using Mountain Lion, it would be System Preferences > Accessibility.
    Uncheck the in the "Seeing" or "Zoom" section that says "Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom".  It may be slightly different if you have an older OS X version. I have Mountain Lion and am going off of memory on the older versions.

  • How can i check my mails on the iphone and make sure that the mail wont pop up again on my computer ?

    How can i check my mails on the iphone and make sure that the mail wont pop up again on my computer/ will be deleted on the server ?

    For that kind of connectivity you need to be using an email account configured either as IMAP or Exchange.
    IMAP & Exchange accounts will maintain a sync across all your devices, so if you read / delete a message on your phone, it will disappear from the server as well. This cannot happen in POP email accounts.
    If your using gmail, instructions on how to set up exchange / imap are here http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&topic=14252
    Alternatively, if its anything other than Google, you will need to contact your email providor or IT department (if your email address resides with an enterprise environment) to get the correct settings.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I control a button from one swf file to another swf file?

    Hi,
    I have a main.swf file. From that file I am accessing the external.swf file which is an external file.
    Now, how can I write code on my main.swf file for the button which is on my external.swf file?
    Activities.MainPanel.close_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btnClickClose);
    Activities.MainPanel.close_btn (This buttons is actually on external.swf file, but I want to write code on main.swf file to execute it on external.swf) how can I control one swf button on other swf file?
    Thanks.

    Here's some example code that you should be able to adapt to your needs.
    // create a new loader object instance...
    var loader:Loader = new Loader();
    // make the download request...
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest("external.swf");
    // add a complete event listener to the loader
    loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, completeHandler);
    // start the actual loading process...
    loader.load(request);
    // create a new empty movieClip instance, you will put the loaded movie into this movieClip once its loaded
    var externalMovie:MovieClip;
    // this function is called when the download has finished and the file is ready to use...
    function completeHandler(event:Event):void {
       // set the contents of the loaded movie to the new empty movieClip...
               externalMovie = MovieClip(event.target.content);
       // add this new movie to the display list...
       addChild(externalMovie);
    Now you can refer to the loaded movie with the instance name "externalMovie". So if, for instance, you want to address a button in the loaded movie, you could write something like this on the main timeline:
    externalMovie.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, btnClickClose);
    function btnClickClose(event:MouseEvent):void {
