  • Custom Item Type Icon not displayed

    I have created a custom Item type from the base File type for PDF files.
    I have asociated a PDF Icon with this type.
    When I create folder object of my new PDF Type, my Icon does not ever seem to show up.
    Why?
    I must change the image associated with each item (secondary tab). to get an Icon to show up.
    Why?

    Stuart,
    According to the help text:
    "Currently, this icon is not used by Oracle Portal. The icon may be used in future releases."
    But, if you want to show it, you can use a procedure in the custom item type to display the icon. Just find the URL to the icon (in Internet Explorer, right click on the icon and select Properties to get the URL) and write a simple procedure to display it. For an example of a custom item type procedure, see the discussion at http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum82/HTML/000379.html .

  • How can take a Custom Data Type in TestStand and create a LabVIEW DataType?

    I am using LV 8.2 and TS 3.5.
    I have an existing Custom Data Type in TestStand and I want to make a LabView Type Def.  The TS DataType contains 11 elements: a Visa Resource Container of 2 elements (String, DeviceName and Number, Session), 9 Numerics and 1 String Array.  For Backwards compatability, I cannot modify the TestStand DataType.
    Thanks,
    Jean

    Hi Goldee,
    You should be able to do that. It's a two step procedure.
    1) Creates in LV a custom datatype that maps 1:1 yours TS datatype.
    2) Go in the TypePalette in the properties of yours TS Datatype and check into LV Cluster Passing Menu'. Here you can Connect a specific Field of the TS datatype to a Specific Label of the corresponding LV datatype. Once you've done it the TS datatype will result modified, I mean "starred" but the change you applied should not impact the datatype structure itself only the way you pass it to LV.

  • How can JFileChooser display custom ShellFolders ?

    The windows flavor of the JFileChooser UI has a nice left column with ShellFolder entries.
    How can one extend this list to add one's own places like "My workgroup's common place"
    or "My Shared folder" ?
    I've tried to implement a decorator for the FileSystemView, but is doesn't really help and
    has synchronization problems (getRoots() has to be fully operational on the JFileChooser creation),
    is there a way to force a FileSystemView rescan for new folders ?

    Yup, possible using system variables that can track time and conditional advanced actions.

  • How can I get an item that has the broadcast icon next to it into MP3 format so I can put it on my ipod nano?

    Question: how can I get an item in my itunes library, on my mac os 10.6.7 that has a broadcast icon next to it into MP3 format so I can play it on my ipod? right now it won't let me, and it's very frustrating!!!! thanks

    I might have misunderstood what you mean by the "broadcast icon," but if you are talking about an audio stream, then there is just no way you can convert a stream to MP3. What this would involve is either recording the stream, and then you would just be replaying the recorded audio on your iPod (is this what you are trying to achieve?), or reading the stream directly on your iPod, which an iPod nano does not support (it would need wireless connectivity).
    Hope this helps

  • Item Type Icon

    I added an icon to my URL "Item Type Properties". But, I don't see the icon on any URL items. I added every attribute to the "Displayed Attributes" for the region, and I still don't see any item type icons. The "Available Attributes" in "Edit Region" doesn't list anything like "Item Icon" anyway.
    Oracle Portal Version: 10.1.2.0.2
    How can I show the item icon? Or, what is it used for?
    Thanks.

    Hi Brian,
    You're talking about a mime type icon, and those are shown for a File Item. Those work fine. I'm talking about the Icon associated with the Item Type, where you specify the Icon in the "Item Type Properties" when you edit the Item Type.
    For example, I made an "External URL" Item type:
    Base Item Type: Base URL
    Name: EXTERNALURL
    Display Name: External URL
    Description: <none>
    Icon: <this is where I added my icon, and it's displayed in the properties here...>
    Help URL For Add Item Wizard: <none>
    Help URL For Edit Item Wizard: <none>
    In this Edit Item Type area, there are also tabs for "Item Type Attributes" and "Procedures". I don't think those apply.
    When I make an External URL item, there's no icon.
    Again, the portal version I'm using is 10.1.2.0.2.

  • How can I find text-item description and content in database?

    I make "Actual news" region with text and simple image items.
    With "Custom Search" autoquery I make news portlet with 10 latest news.
    But I will make with PDK-Java discussion portlet, in which users can read and write about last published (last created text item display name and content) news.
    My questions:
    - How can I find text-item description and content in database?
    - How I can sort text-items to find latest created in my region?
    I have Portal R2

  • Traversal of custom item menu icons in form

    Here is one doubt for me
    me created one menu design with customitem subclass creating background image with sprite class and menu icons over it as in mobile(grid view) using default method paint() g.drawImage();
    and then appended this customitem to form. Now the problem is how to traverse among the custom item menu icons.
    i am aware of traverse() and traverout() methods, but don't know how to enable it

  • How can I display XSLT transformer errors on a web page ?

    Hi,
    I have some JSP pages that access DB, create an XML based on DB data and then transform it into HTML through an XSLT stylesheet. Developing the XSL code it's easy to make mistakes and generate errors on trasformation, but what I receive on the web page is only a "Could not compile stylesheet" TransformerConfigurationException, while the real cause of the error is displayed only on tomcat logs. This is the code for transformation:
    static public void applyXSLT(Document docXML, InputStream isXSL, PrintWriter pw) throws TransformerException, Exception {
            // instantiate the TransformerFactory.
            TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
            // creates an error listener
            XslErrorListener xel = new XslErrorListener();
            // sets the error listener for the factory
            tFactory.setErrorListener(xel);
            // generate the transformer
            Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer(new SAXSource(new InputSource(isXSL)));
            // transforms the XML Source and sends the output to the HTTP response
            transformer.transform(new DOMSource(docXML), new StreamResult(pw));
    }If an exception is thrown during the execution of this code, its error message is displayed on the web page.
    This is the listener class:
    public class XslErrorListener implements ErrorListener {
        public XslErrorListener() {
        public void warning(TransformerException ex) {
            // logs on error log
            System.err.println("\n\nWarning on XEL: " + ex.getMessage());
        public void error(TransformerException ex) throws TransformerException {
            // logs on error log
            System.err.println("\n\nError on XEL: " + ex.getMessage());
            // and throws it
            throw ex;
        public void fatalError(TransformerException ex) throws TransformerException {
            // logs on error log
            System.err.println("\n\nFatal Error on XEL: " + ex.getMessage());
            // and throws it
            throw ex;
    }When I have an error in the XSL stylesheet (for examples a missing closing tag), I can find on tomcat logs the real cause of the error:
    [Fatal Error] :59:10: The element type "table" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</table>".
    Error on XEL: The element type "table" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</table>".but on my web page is reported just the TransformerConfigurationException message that is:
    "Could not compile stylesheet".
    How can I display the real cause of the error directly on the web page?
    Thanks,
    Andrea

    This code is part of a bigger project that let developers edit XSL stylesheets through a file upload on the system and we can't impose the use of any tool for checking the xsl. So, I need to display the transformer error on the web page.I see. This code is part of an editorial/developmental tool for developers to create and edit XSL stylesheets.
    As part of the editorial process, XSL errors during editing can be considered a normal condition. In other words, it is normal to expect that the developers will generate XSL errors as they are developing stylesheets.
    In this light, handling the XSL transformation errors is a business requirement that you need to handle. Using the Java Exceptions mechanisms, e.g. try / catch are inappropriate to handle business requirements, in my opinion.
    I suggest that you look at how you handle the occurence of XSL errors differently than what you currently have. You need to:
    (1) capture the Transformation exception on the server;
    (2) extract the message from the exception and put it into a message that can be easily understood by the user;
    The current error message that you have going to the web browser is not useful.
    And you should not have the Transformation exception sent to the web browser either.
    What you are attempting to do with the exception is not appropriate.
    Handle the Transformation exception on the Business tier and use it to create a useful message that is then sent to the Presentation tier. In other words, do not send Java exceptions to web browser.

  • How can I display True/False in my dropdownlist as "Yes" and "No"?

    Hi All,
    I want to bind a dropdownlist to a boolean value (so it's either true or false).  I'm particularly interested in using two-way binding to when the user changes from "yes" to "no" the boolean value automatically changes from "true" to "false."  But, I want the user to see "yes" and "no" as the options, rather than "true" and "false".
    How can I display "yes" and "no" and still take advantage of binding?  Or can I not use binding in this circumstance?
      -Josh

    Solution 1:
    In order to display Yes/No for True/False, you may specify labelFunction for the dropdownList.
    In MXML:
    <s:DropDownList labelFunction="myLabelFunction" />
    In actionscript:
    private var arr:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(["true","false"]);
                private function mylabelFunction(item:Object):String
                    if(item.toString() == "true")
                        return "yes";
                    else return "No";
    OR
    Solution2:
    may be u can try making an array collection like
    private var arr:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection([{label:"yes",value:"true"},{label:"no",value:"false"}]);
    and specify labelField for the dropdownList like
    <s:DropDownList labelField="label" dataProvider="{arr}" />

  • How can i display a list of all the names stored in the Mail app?

    When sending an email, the program shows a list of names according to the first and subsequent letters that I type into the To: field. There are times I cannot recall someone's email user name. How can I display a complete list of all the names Mail has stored? I know that I can go to the To: field then type in the letter A, then write down all listings under A, and then repeat for each letter of the alphabet, but there should be an easier method.
    I have perhaps dozens of names in Mail, but only five names in Address Book, so the latter does me no good.

  • How can I display JTextFields correctly on a JPanel using GridBagLayout?

    I had some inputfields on a JPanel using the boxLayout. All was ok. Then I decided to change the panellayout to GridBagLayout. The JLabel fields are displayed correctly but the JTextField aren't.
