  • How can I execute a Procedure with OUT variable is %ROWTYPE on SQL Prompt

    Hi,
    I have a procedure with OUT variable is %ROWTYPE
    How can I execute the following procedure on SQL prompt.
    (without creating anonymous block)
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE zz_sp_EMP(VEMPNO IN EMP.EMPNO%TYPE,
    V_REC IN OUT EMP%ROWTYPE)
    AS
    BEGIN
    SELECT * INTO V_REC FROM EMP WHERE EMPNO = VEMPNO;
    END;
    Thanks & Regards,
    Naresh

    as previous posters said: it's not possible to do this without declaring a variable in the anonymous block.
    With anonymous block it would look like this (had to change it a bit, since i'm using hr-schema on oracle XE):
    declare
    l_rec EMPLOYEES%ROWTYPE;
    begin
    zz_sp_EMP(VEMPNO => 100, V_REC => l_rec);
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ( 'first_name = ' || l_rec.first_name );
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE ( 'last_name = ' || l_rec.last_name );
    end;
    first_name = Steven
    last_name = King

    - asker

    I ignore your statements fully. I have a joke here.
    There is one fools' gang in a city and they want to prove that they are not fools. One of them says " If we can find the most intelligent man in the city, then we can no more be called fools." Then on one fine morning, one of the fools sets out on a search. He goes to a taxi-driver and asks him to take him to the most intelligent man in the city. Taking advantage, the taxi fellow roams around the entire city for the whole day and end of the day brings him to the same spot where he met him in the morning.
    Taxi driver says, "Sir! I've not seen anyone who is more intelligent than me in this whole city. To prove this, I ask you a question and you answer me. If you can't answer me, then I'm the most intelligent in the city." Even the fool agrees on this and the Taxi driver continues saying, "We are four in our house. My mother, my wife, my son and who is the fourth one?". The fool couldn't answer that and the taxi driver says "The fourth one is me". the fool accepts his ignorance and sets off from the place to their fools-community gathering.
    In the gathering, this folls explains other fools about his achievement and says that the taxi-driver is the most intelligent in the city. When other persons insist on how he had come that conclusion, he asks the same question to his community as says, "We are four in our house. My mother, my wife, my son and who is the fourth one?". The other fools fail to answer and ask for the answer excitedly. This fools replies, "The taxi driver".
    In the same way as the fool, if I give direct answer to the question, the OP doesn't know the logic behind the answer and then just blindly remembers the answer rather than learning. That is the reason I insisted on doing some search before giving a solution.
    Have a nice day ahead.
    And yeah! Neither the number of posts not you can judge my skills. Rest of the community knows.
    Cheers

  • How can I execute Stored Procedures in PARALLEL and DYNAMICALLY ?

    Hi
    I have a stored procedure. It can be executed like this
    exec test @p = 1;
    exec test @p = 2
    exec test @p = n;
    n can be hundred.
    I want the sp being executed in parallel, not sequence. It means the 3 examples above can be run at the same time.
    If I know the number in advance, say 3, I can create 3 different Execution SQL Tasks. They can be run in parallel.
    However, the n is not static. It is coming from a table.
    How can I execute Stored Procedures in PARALLEL and DYNAMICALLY ?
    I think about using script task. In the script, I get the value of n, and the list of p, from the table, then running a loop with. In the loop, I create a threat and in the threat, I execute the sp like : exec test @p = p. So the exec test may
    be run parallel. But I am not sure if it works.
    Any idea is really appreciated.

    Hi nam_man,
    According to your description, you want to call stored procedures in parallel, right?
    In SSIS, we can create separate jobs with different stored procedures, then set the same schedule to kick the jobs off at the same time. In this way, we should be careful to monitor blocking and deadlocking depending on what the jobs are doing.
    We can also put all stored procedures in SSIS Sequence container, then they will be run in parallel.
    For more information about SSIS job and Sequence container, please refer to the following documents:

    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

    ... but you could imagine a sort of workaround...
    PROCEDURE Set_Item
        PC$Item     In Varchar2
       ,PN$Property In Number
       ,PC$Value    In Varchar2
    ) IS
    BEGIN

  • How can I execute a batch file from my java program

    Hi,
    Can someone help me or direct me to a link,
    How can I execute a DOS batch file from my java program?
    Thanks

    You will need to grab a handle to the process's
    outputstream so u can see its output.The OP didn't mention any output from any batch file;
    nor any input for that
    matter,so lets not complicate matters here for now
    ok?Actually I think this is essential to see whether it works or not. It's either that or do some manual check to see whether it ran, which is not exactly elegant, and in some cases this may not be easier than simply writing the output stream code, or in fact it may be impossible to check manually.
    I'm sure it wasn't intentional that your post appeared to be bristling with attitude.

  • How can I execute a query from a BSP application?

    How can I execute a query from a BSP application?
    I´m trying to execute a Query from intranet. I´ve been looking for examples, but the templates I´ve found doesn´t help me.
    does anybody has an example?
    Thanks.

    Hi
    Have you designed the BSP application ?
    design it first with one page
    page will have layout and Event handlers
    Design the layout with the fields
    in the event handler there are events
    in the event On Initiailization or ON inputprocessing write the select query similar to what we write in routine ABAp and fetch the data into ITAB and that has to be passed to the Layout

    To learn how to create Web applications with Business Server Pages, you can work through the simple tutorials that build on each other. You should be able to run through all of the steps described here in your own system.
    If you want to develop Web applications with BSPs, your system must meet the following requirements: Prerequisites for Creating Web Applications.
    The following tutorials are available:
    · First Tutorial: First Steps with Business Server Pages…
    · Second tutorial: A Small BSP Application and A Small BSP Application with HTMLB
    · Third tutorial: Our First Online Bookshop
    · Fourth tutorial: Further Developing the Bookshop
    · A small Tutorial is also available for your first steps with the Model View Controller design pattern.
    · For a more complex MVC tutorial based on the third tutorial, see: Our Little Online Bookshop Using MVC and HTMLB
    When creating BSP applications, note the browser dependencies described in Note 598860.
    steps:
    1) start the transaction RZ10.
    2) now u u have to select Profile name, so select the INSTANCE Profile from the list of options given with the Profile parameter list.U may find multiple instance profile in the list, so select the profile in which ur server name is given.
    3) u will also find three options in the same window.
    Administrator data, Basic Maintenance, and Extended Maintenance. So select the last one from that.
    4) Now click on change button.
    5) here u will find parameter icm/host_name_full, so now set it as FQDN.
    6) Now copy ur settings with new version number.
    7) Activate that version.
    8) And now please restart ur WAS.
    So this will set ur FQDN, and also don't forget to login using Admin User.
    Now u also check for following service are active in your ICF setting or not,( just start transaction code SICF)

  • How can I insert values from table object into a regular table

    I have a table named "ITEM", an object "T_ITEM_OBJ", a table object "ITEM_TBL" and a stored procedure as below.
    CREATE TABLE ITEM
    ITEMID VARCHAR2(10) NOT NULL,
    PRODUCTID VARCHAR2(10) NOT NULL,
    LISTPRICE NUMBER(10,2),
    UNITCOST NUMBER(10,2),
    SUPPLIER INTEGER,
    STATUS VARCHAR2(2),
    ATTR1 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR2 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR3 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR4 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR5 VARCHAR2(80)
    TYPE T_ITEM_OBJ AS OBJECT
    ITEMID VARCHAR2(10),
    PRODUCTID VARCHAR2(10),
    LISTPRICE NUMBER(10,2),
    UNITCOST NUMBER(10,2),
    SUPPLIER INTEGER,
    STATUS VARCHAR2(2),
    ATTR1 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR2 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR3 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR4 VARCHAR2(80),
    ATTR5 VARCHAR2(80)
    TYPE ITEM_TBL AS TABLE OF T_ITEM_OBJ;
    PROCEDURE InsertItemByObj(p_item_tbl IN ITEM_TBL, p_Count OUT PLS_INTEGER);
    When I pass values from my java code through JDBC to this store procedure, how can I insert values from the "p_item_tbl" table object into ITEM table?
    In the stored procedure, I wrote the code as below but it doesn't work at all even I can see values if I use something like p_item_tbl(1).itemid. How can I fix the problem?
    INSERT INTO ITEM
    ITEMID,
    PRODUCTID,
    LISTPRICE,
    UNITCOST,
    STATUS,
    SUPPLIER,
    ATTR1
    ) SELECT ITEMID, PRODUCTID, LISTPRICE,
    UNITCOST, STATUS, SUPPLIER, ATTR1
    FROM TABLE( CAST(p_item_tbl AS ITEM_TBL) ) it
    WHERE it.ITEMID != NULL;
    COMMIT;
    Also, how can I count the number of objects in the table object p_item_tbl? and how can I use whole-loop or for-loop to retrieve values from the table object?
    Thanks.

    Sigh. I answered this in your other How can I convert table object into table record format?.
    Please do not open multiple threads. It just confuses people and makes the trreads hard to follow. Also, please remember we are not Oracle employees, we are all volunteers here. We answer questions if we can, when we can. There is no SLA so please be patient.

  • How can I modify data from a Transparent Table without ABAP code.

    Hi,All
    How can I modify data from a Transparent Table (like TCURR),  and important thing is I want do all that with no ABAP code here. It is like that we always do that in a Oracle database use TOAD or PLSQL third party tools, with no script code here.
    I had fond that there is a way can do that:
    1, type 'se11',and Display Database table 'TCURR', click Contents, then click Execute to display all data
    2, type '/h' and let debugging on
    3, select one of this data then click 'Display',enter in debugging system.
    4, then make a breakpoint in the code. But... display a dialog let I type a 'ABAP Cmnds', I want to know what can be type in for that?
    and, My system is ECC6.
    thank you all

    Hello,
    Your approach (with Vijay's suggestion) MAY work.  However, depending on how tight security is at the company that you are working at you may or may not be able to acutaly change the value of the SHOW field to EDIT.  This will be especially true if you are working in a Production environment.  Vijay's other comment is true as well.  This is not a recommended approach to change data (especially data with a financial impact like TCURR) in a production environment.  The auditors will not be impressed.
    Explore the option of a maintenace view or look at tcode TBDM to upload a file which includes daily rates from providers like Reuters or try tcode s_bce_68000174 which is a maintenance view on TCURR.

  • How can I prevent Bridge from altering my photos?

    HELP!!!
    Within the past few days my Bridge CS4 program has been making my life miserable. I had been utilizing the program to batch photos from my extensive photo library, rename them, sort them (i.e., change sort/ordinal number), and the like without any difficulty and then suddenly, after executing such processes my thumbnails turned completely white and would not open in Bridge, Photoshop CS4 Extended - much less anything else. I tried reopening them as .jpg's, .psd's, .tiff's to no avail. I went into properties on each photo and checked the "open with" tab, and it noted that the photo was not recognized. I had some moderate success opening them with Quicktime Picture Viewer, but converting them back to a Bridge readable format (i.e., their original state) proved impossible. Having noticed that Quicktime had hijacked nearly my entire photo opening process, I uninstalled it in the hope that it would solve the problem. It didn't. I then went into Bridge and Photoshop CS4 preferences to try and modify how photos were opened, and couldn't seem to find anything applicable. I did, however, increase the memory and cache allocated to each program substantially.
    Last night I ran into more problems with Bridge. While scanning both photo negatives and prints into Bridge and saving them into various files, I encountered the same problem indicated in paragraph one. I tried scanning several of them a second time and succeeded; however, I had to save them to a different file and give them dissimilar names in .tiff format. In the process I found more than a dozen ways to spell "Mexico," "Tokyo," and "Ukraine"! They would not save as .jpg's or .psd's.
    I use Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, have a Pentium 4 Dual Core (2.8) processor, 4 GB Memory, Nvidia GE Force 7600 video card (yes, the drivers are up to date), and Hewlett Packard Photosmart C7180 and C7280 printers for scanning. All of the photos involved are stored on a Maxtor One Touch 1TB Turbo auxillary hard drive.
    Also, could anyone suggest how I can get the  SD/MMC card reader on my PC to work?
    Thanks to any and all for assisting me with my problem.

    Thank you curt y for your quick response. I have seen your recommendations on the adobe forums link in the past and many of your solutions
    seem to have helped other people with Bridge problems. I took your suggestion and gave it a whirl - all preferences were restored to defaults - and the problem continues. I get the feeling the problems lies with the program's interaction with Windows.
    Having tried a few more things, I've found that I can move the photo shell (the inscription underneath the thumbnail states, "Window Shell Common") to my desktop and open it there with Photoshop (i.e., going through the song and dance of "open with" and clicking on the CS4 icon, where it opens up in RAW). I must then move it over to Photoshop CS4 and save it as a .jpg or a .psd. Unfortunately, after all this it still won't open in Bridge. By all appearances, Bridge somehow has become corrupted and I'm probably going to have to do a complete Photoshop CS4 uninstall and reinstall.
    I've spent hundreds - if not thousands - of hours scanning into my system some 10,000 photographs of my travels (yes, they are backed up on discs), and Bridge should not be negatively impacting my ability to organize and manipulation them as is happening now. If the uninstall/reinstall does not resolve the problem, I'll be back on this forum for more suggestions.
    As for the card reader issue, I'm well aware of the 2GB/over 2GB issue. I typically use a 4GB or more card in my camera. I can download fine through my HP 7180 and 7280 card readers, but my HP 1518n card reader is a different story. I'll work a little more on it, too.
    Thanks again.

    Have you tried resetting your preferences by holding down the Ctrl key and starting Bridge?  You will get a reset window, choose all 3 options.
    The only thing I know about card readers is that there are 2 versions.  One for cards of 2 gigs or less, and one for HD cards over 2 gigs.  Make sure card and reader match.

    how can i transfer photos from my macbook to regular USB plugged in it

    For a few photos, you can select them in the iPhoto library then drag and drop them to the USB key. This is a copy, so the originals will remain in iPhoto.
    To move the whole library, use the procedure described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1229
    NOTE: When you post questions concerning just about anything on a Mac, it is essential to include information about the version of Mac OS that you are running. The latest - what you have, is OS 10.9.1.

    with sum(B3) from B,it doesn't runs fine.
    To achieve this I've made a class C with fields of class A and a double
    for sum. The code I've use is:
    KodoQuery query = (KodoQuery)getPersistenceManager()
    .newQuery(A.class, "this == b.b2");
    query.declareVariables("B b");
    query.declareImports("x.x.B");
    query.setResultClass(C.class);
    query.setResult("this as a, sum(b.b3) as s");
    query.setGrouping("a");
    Collection c = query.execute();
    I use PostGreSQL 7.4, and the sql that Kodo generates is like this:
    SELECT s.A1, SUM(s.C) AS c
    FROM ( SELECT DISTINCT a.A1 AS A1, s.B3 AS C
    FROM PUBLIC.A a INNER JOIN PUBLIC.B b ON (a.A1 = b.B2) ) s
    GROUP BY s.A1
    But the problem is 'DISTINCT' keyword. If I have records on B
    with same B3 value then:
    B1=1,B2=1,B3=25
    B1=2,B2=1,B3=25
    The query returns SUM(B3)=25 which is not valid!!!, it must be 50.
    It fails with repeated B3 values because distinct keyword.
    I bypass this adding a third field to class C that I will not use, and
    introduce it into query:
    KodoQuery query = (KodoQuery)getPersistenceManager()
    .newQuery(A.class, "this == b.b2");
    query.declareVariables("B b");
    query.declareImports("x.x.B");
    query.setResultClass(C.class);
    query.setResult("this as a, sum(b.b3) as s, sum(b.b1) as t");
    query.setGrouping("a");
    Collection c = query.execute();
    With this, I force to put primary key into subquery, and disables
    DISTINCT, but I never will use this field :(. SQL generated by KODO:
    SELECT s.A1, SUM(s.C) AS c, SUM(s.T) as t
    FROM ( SELECT DISTINCT a.A1 AS A1, s.B3 AS C, s.B1 as T
    FROM PUBLIC.A a INNER JOIN PUBLIC.B b ON (a.A1 = b.B2) ) s
    GROUP BY s.A1
    Questions:
    1.- What may I doing wrong?
    2.- How can I disable Distinct from subquerys?
    And, no, I don't want to select by class B and then search A objects.
    I want a C object with A object plus SUM of values from B.
    I am achieving this with this patch.
    I know that when there aren't B objects I don't receive results.
    Is there any way to build an OUTER JOIN with JDOQL ?
    In order to bypass this, I execute the query another time but reseting to
    0, but I will prefer to be able to build an OUTER JOIN ;)
    PD: Little class descriptions:
    class A{ int a1, int a2, int a3} (autogenerated by kodo)
    class B{ int b1, int b2, double b3} (autogenerated by kodo)
    class C{ A a, double c, int t} (generated by me)
    Sorry for my english :(
    thanks.

    I'll address your outer join question first, since it's the easiest. Kodo will
    create outer joins automatically as needed to satisfy your JDOQL. In this case,
    your JDOQL does not warrant an outer join. Your filter criteria on the query is
    "this == b.b2". That means the query cannot and should not return any values
    when there are no A's that match that join. Why not try this equivalent but
    simpler query?
    Query q = pm.newQuery (B.class);
    q.setResult ("b2 as a, sum(b3) as s");
    q.setGrouping ("b2");
    q.setResultClass (C.class);
    That will return results grouped by the A objects from the b2 field, and the sum
    of the b3 field for all B's in each group. It should use an outer join.
    About DISTINCT:
    The pattern of a distinct subselect is caused by two conditions:
    1. Your result clause is non-distinct. That is, you did:
    q.setResult("this as a, sum(b3) as s")
    rather than:
    q.setResult("distinct this as a, sum(b3) as s")
    This means that you want to allow duplicates in the projected values you get back.
    2. You use an unbound variable ("b") in a way that could lead to duplicates
    caused by relational joins. JDO always eliminates duplicates caused by database
    joins.
    So in order to eliminate the possible duplicates caused by #2, Kodo issues the
    query as a DISTINCT subselect. Then in order to allow duplicates of the
    projected results (#1), Kodo uses a non-distinct outer select.
    The simplest way to eliminate the DISTINCT subselect is to use the alternate
    query on B.class I mentioned above. That will result in no DISTINCTs at all.
    Another way is to use the "distinct" keyword in your setResult() call, as I
    showed in #1. That will result in a DISTINCT select without any subselect.
    Without reverting to a SQL query (which you can still execute through JDO APIs,
    as described in the documentation), I believe those are the options available.
