How can I get Firefox to show videos when I visit websites that have videos? None of the videos play or is visible, even though I can hear the audio. However, I don't have that problem when I use Internet Explorer.

I'm using a PC with Windows 7 OS.

Hi Marcos140,
I would like to help, but is very hard to diagnose with so little information...
Do you know why you needed the bridge in the first place?
Is your laptop connecting via wireless or a wired connection?
Please try this:
#Click start
#Type cmd
# Push Enter
#A black box will open
# type in "ipconfig /all"
# Screenshot the output
# type "ping google.com"
# Screenshot
If you can post the output of those commands it will help.
Thanks,
Curtis

  • How can I get firefox to show everything from left to right, without a curser that I have to move, in win-xp?

    It used to be ok. I had a firexox teeshirt from way far back, firefox 1.0. Then i had a hemorrhagic stroke, about 3 years ago. Now i'm back, in a new place, for two months now.
    (I use my left hand now...) and once again, i have a desktop, with win-xp (and five internal harddrives, and a 600w ps.) Anyway, for the first time with my new desktop, there is a cursor in the bottom of firefox, and it doesn't show everything, left to right unless i move it.
    I've been out of commission, with only a laptop, with win-7-64bit edition, that i got just 7 months before my stroke. My sister threw away all of my desktops...many of which i built. The doctor said i may die...so my sister didn't even wait, but threw away my CLOTHES AND BOOKS AND COMPUTERS (except for the laptop), but she saved most of my harddrives...i guess i taught her how to save harddrives.
    Anyway, it's been three years, since i've had no 32bit computer with win-xp, and i can't figure out how to make things go back to the way i'm used to. HELP! I was in your forums, when my e-mail was [email protected], which it will be again , soon. But for how, how do i get firefox to show all, left to right, without a bottom cursor? i know it's possible. (And while i'm asking questions, how can i, tony mendola, get another firefox 1.0 tee shirt? i would even pay for it, even though i'm on social security-disability, with only one hand working..and no work. I used to wear it, proudly when fixing computers for others.)

    Hi manni394, what version of Firefox are you running now?
    Firefox 22 has a new way of setting the default zoom level: it is based on your Windows font size setting. So, if you set Windows fonts to 125% (enlarged 25%), your Firefox pages also will be enlarged 25%. On pages that do not adjust their layout, you may get a horizontal scroll bar.
    To reduce the zoom on a page, hold Ctrl and tap the - key (the one on the numeric keypad or the one on the number row of the keyboard). The zoom should be reduced for each tap.
    If you want to globally adjust your zoom level to be lower, you can use either of these add-ons:
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/ Default FullZoom Level]
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/ NoSquint]
    If you already have one of those add-ons, check the default/global zoom level in case it needs to be adjusted.

  • When a tab is close, firefox next shows the tab to the right. How do I get firefox to show the tab to the LEFT of the closed tab?

    I have 3 tabs open named 1, 2 and 3. If I close tab 2, Firefox will automatically show tab 3. How do I get Firefox to show tab 1 instead of tab 3? Basically, move to the left instead of the right?
    I searched about:config using words like: tab, open, close, next, left and right and compared the results on
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_About:config_Entries to get a good idea of what each entry did. Learned a lot and reconfigured other aspects of Firefox in the process! But, I would really like to alter the way Firefox processes tab closures.
    Thank you.

    You can look at these extensions:
    *Tab Control: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/1480
    *Tabberwocky: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/14439
    *Tab Mix Plus: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/1122

  • Does apple fix an ipod under warranty if the inside screen was slightly cracked even though you cant feel the crack because its on the inside.do they fix that????

    Does apple fix an ipod under warranty if the inside screen was slightly cracked even though you cant feel the crack because its on the inside.do they fix that????

    ONLY Apple could answer this.
    If they determine that the ipod is defective, then warranty will cover it.
    If they determine that it is damaged, then the warranty will not cover it.

  • Why can I not access the scroll up arrow or anything in that upper region of the screen with my cursor. I dont have that problem if I use internet explorer.

    i should clarify that I can see that region, I just can't get the cursor to click on anything there.

    Recently, the Yahoo Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to overlap invisibly over the top of the web page display. If you have either or both, uninstall or disable them/it, or see if an update is available that solves the problem.

  • How can I get Firefox to show ALL the pictures of people's profiles once I log onto myspace?

    Every time I log onto MySpace, on every profile I go onto to look at, there are at least some if not most of their pictures blank, it won't show me their pictures, even when I look at my profile pictures it won't show most of them, it'll be a blank space when at the top it say picture 34 out of 70 or something. It isn't my computer doing this because google chrome and the other internet program I have show all pictures on myspace.
    == URL of affected sites ==
    http://www.myspace.com

    Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
    A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (<i>Site Identification</i> icon) on the left side of the location bar.
    A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    Open the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Page Info" window.
    Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
    If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • How do I get Firefox to show hidden files and folders. It should be available under help but help only gets as far as Open Containing folder and doesn't go on to show hidden files and folders

    I am trying to find the status of Adobe Flash Player on my computer. I am advised that it exists in Firefox's hidden files and folders but I cannot find such a folder

    You have an older version of Flash installed - Shockwave Flash 10.0 r45
    You can see that for yourself in Tools > Addons > Plugins
    "Show hidden files and folders" is a function of the Operating System, not an application such as Firefox. Windows Control Panel > Folder Options > View - Advanced Settings

  • How do I get Firefox to show the proper font and layout of a site when it keeps loading an older version of that site? (I have cleared cache and cookies already)

    We are having a new website developed and my designer has made changes to it. Despite clearing the cache and cookies, the fonts are not showing up as the actual fonts. Also, the form fields at the bottom are extending beyond the border on the right side of the box on my screen, but this does not happen for other people using Firefox - it is only on my computer.
    I AM ON A MAC.
    I received a suggestion to reload the page and bypass the cache with:
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
    BUT - this did not work.

    You can reload the page and bypass the cache with:
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

  • How do I get Firefox to show jpeg files in the same window/tab like it once did instead of asking me what to do everytime?

    For a long time, whenever I click on a jpeg link in one of my Yahoo groups, the image simply loads in the Firefox window or tab that I'm viewing and I can simply hit the back button to return to the page I was on before. But just recently when I click on a jpeg link, Firefox asks me where I want to download the file and I have to choose between opening another tab, using Windows Photo Viewer, or selecting another program, I believe this is unnecessary and cumbersome. I would like it if Firefox would simply show me the image I'm trying to view in the same window/tab like it used to instead asking me where to download it and/or opening up a new tab when I don't really need it.

    Hi Twistednerve84, <br>
    At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options to access the options window. Go to the Applications Panel and next to 'JPEG image' content type select to use your default application to view images. <br><br>

  • Can't get Firefox to show websites properly

    I've never had trouble with Firefox before. I was using 14.1 when it stopped showing everything the way it was supposed to. I scanned for a virus, rebooted my machine, turned off the plugins and nothing worked so I decided to try Safari. I set up the plugins I wanted etc., used it for a while and decided I liked Firefox better. So I pulled up Firefox and pushed the reset button. This made it worse! I had checked for updates and it said I was up to date. To make sure, I went to Firefox download page and found an update. I downloaded it and the new version was just as bad. So, I decided to upload Firefox 15 - everything was still a mess. Check boxes don't show on any sites but if you remember where they are the spot will still work. Colors are showing up. Everything looks stripped to the bare bones.
    I deleted Safari and Chrome - I've canned my entire computer for viruses, file fragments, etc. I don't know what else to try! I'm disabled so my browser is my link to the world! I love Firefox when it works - please don't make me go back to IE!

    Hi giganut, I missed the part about the Shockwave Flash plugin (I assume it's Shockwave Flash and not Shockwave for Director). There are some compatibility issues between the latest Flash player and some Firefox add-ons or settings. Could you see whether anything in this article helps: [[Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox]].
    If you have Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you might also consider disabling the new protected mode in Flash 11.3, since that feature is currently being debugged. See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493 Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]

  • How do I get Firefox to show updates to all webpages automatically upon visiting a site?

    When I open a website in Firefox that I know changes have been made to - it's not showing the most recent updates to the site. I have to check in Safari just to confirm I'm looking at the most up-to-date site changes. Otherwise, I have to go to Firefox and click reload on every single page. Is there a way that Firefox can update each page and check for latest updates on every single page without manually having to do it?

  • How do I get Firefox to show bookmarks in a permanent, vertical column on left side of the screen?

    IE allows me to bookmark my favorites and keep them listed in a vertical column on the left side of the screen--which I keep open at all times. Is that function possible in Firefox?

    To open the Bookmarks sidebar, in the View menu select Sidebar and then Bookmarks. Alternatively use the keyboard shortcut Control+B

  • After i search for an item in my bookmarks, how do I get Firefox to show me where in my bookmarks the item is located?

    after i search for a bookmark, i'd like the ability to right-click on the search result and have it display where it actually is in my bookmark list. does Firefox already have some way of doing this? if not, it's a feature i'd like to see added. thanks.

    I'll try the add-on, but it seems burdensome to the system to have to use a bunch of those, no?
