How can I hide hidden files again?

Hi I just bought a new macbook pro with maverick 10.9.3 I believe and made my hidden files viewable to extract certain data. But now I want to hide the files again how do I go about doing that?

You could try it in Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
Then:
killall Finder

Did you have files uploaded to Acrobat.com that are no longer there? If so, please log out and clear the browser cache, and then log back in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. If the files still aren't there (and you didn't delete them), then try logging in using another supported browser (System requirements | Acrobat.com).

How can I get hidden files from an external device with terminal?

Here is my situation. I have an mp3 player that is a Sansa Clipp. This version has third party firmware installed that not only hides the music files but will not let me copy them at all when I do a straight copy. All I get are empty folders. I want to install the actual firmware but first I need to back up the entire contents of the device because essentially I need to wipe the malicious firmware and everything else off the disc in order to to this. This device came from the Bureau of Prisons and is sold to prisoners. It is basically locked to the hilt and the only way to unlock it officially is to send it to the third party that installed the firmware and pay them $25. I know that I should be able to use terminal to get the files off of this but so far a "cp" command has only given me the files that I get when I drag and drop. The music files seem to be hidden in a partition that I can't access. Let me know if anyone has any help they can give. I just need to back up the full contents of the device. I have instructions on how to wipe it and reinstall but backing up is crucial to this. Thanks for any help and please ask questions if I haven't made my problem clear enough.

I assume the Sansa Clipp is a usb connected device. The method works for a flash drive. There is a different method for a harddrive..
First, you need to find the name of the device. Mount the device.
/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.
# run the df command. type command then press return.

If this helps on iphone and ipad - select to hide all calendar. Your ticks and info will go but its NOT deleted and just tick the box (event) that u want to bring up. its just a shame it does not work for laptops or imas. Hope this helps. Well the best feature of having all the content on the CD is that it's all self contained, no need to go someplace else (like the Internet) to get content. But it certainly is possible to store the .flv files on a Web server and have Flash content on the CD go to the Internet to download and play the videos. Little more complex to get it all working AND then the user must have an Internet connection available or they can't see the videos. But even then... if it's on the Internet it can be copied.

but I'm not sure that you can use the content without first decrypting the data.
As for watermarking and adding a copyright notice, this is normally done when the video is first being edited in whatever software is used to capture and edit the original video file. Once the file is already created, there are software programs to add the mark... something like this:

How can I hide file names in a shared photo stream on icloud. I don't want people to see how many pictures I take at an event. Can this be done to pictures already posted?

The Shared Photo Stream uses the filename of the original image file as the title that is shown in the stream. If you want to hide the original filename, export the image to a folder in the Finder, rename it, then reimport it to share it. You can rename the files directly when exporting.
Or, if you do not mind to change the names of the originals in Aperture use the command "Metadata > Batch change" and change the title of the image, with the option "Apply to Original file" enabled and "Add metadata from" set to "None".
To rename the photos already shared, delete them from the Shared Album and share them again.

My own tip is to save this kind of doc in an encrypted disk image (the .dmg items)
Such item resemble to every downloaded installer so it doesn' take special attention and the encryption scheme is an efficient one.

How can I delete hidden video files from the iPad? These files were created on my MBA and when I changed the media type to iTunesU and then copied it to my iPad via iTunes, they did not appear. I can see them using 3rd party software, but they don't have delete functionality.

Interesting note: I can see the files when I use the search function, but when I tap either file, I return to my home screen. The video does not open. I can transfer the file to my MBA, and it plays fine, but I cannot figure out a way to delete them.
