Try Amazon but look for the iWork suite of software. It's only sold separately as Pages, Keynote, and Numbers from the App Store.

Try calling Tech Support, they should be able to check to see if theres a lock and try to help you reset it, I had to call and get my account unflagged, for something that I didn't even do.

Something like this happened to a good friend of mine who owned cs3 and downloaded lion onto her computer and she was unable to run the program without upgrading cs3 to cs5. I don't have the money to spend to upgrade my programs to cs6. So I would like to ask if mountain lion will still let me run cs5?

My MBP got screwy since Maverick install. I made a bootable copy on my machine of
Mountain Lion (or so I thought) with Diskmaker X. After moving all important files to an external drive,

If so, the first thing I would do is to back up your data on the ill mac. I assume both macs have firewire port, get a cable and connect both macs via this cable. Then restart your ill mac by pressing T key after chime, it will become a simple external disk you should see on the desktop of your healthy mac. Back up your data.
Now, with this action accomplished, you may go on. BArney - 15E is optimistic and says how to restart in recovery mode—this may be possible if installation was complete for recovery partition (I doubt this, but I may be wrong).
Otherwise, I would reinstall from the scratch. If after connecting your ill mac via FW, you may see the disk in good order, you should also see the Lion installer within Applications folder. Copy it unto an external disk or flash disk and keep it safe, you will need it again.

If I upgrade to mountain lion, can I install snow leopard from my existing upgrade CD, purchased years ago? Need to keep snow leopard around because I'm running an app which won't run in newer OSX versions.

I am going to call Apple and purchase a copy of SL Server for research purposes.
Also, there are some people who need access to Rosetta that just do not have the capability to use Terminal and I have always suggested that they look into acquiring SL Server (since both Parallels and VMWare allow for easier installation of SL Server).
So putting up the look and feel of SL Server may be worth the ease of installation.
This may cause me to restart an old project: extracting all of the additional frameworks that Server installs, so that it can be installed but look like and work like Snow Leopard client again

Trying to update from 10.4.11 to snow leopard, the genius bar said I should be able to do this I only need 1 GB of RAM and I have 2 GB. I put in the SL disc and my Macbook pro spits it out. What do I do without needlessly spending more money to upgrade?

So this disc won't load. I recently bought a new ipod nano, but am unable to put songs on it without the latest version of itunes.
My Macbook Pro is 2008 and has 10.4.11 the guys at the genius bar said to upgrade to snow leopard to upgrade to lion and I shouldn't have a problem. I was told I need 1GB of RAM and I have 2GBs of RAM but the disc spits out every time after about 3 minutes.

Recently bought a mac book pro with lion, and using time machine brought over all my info from my mac book with snow leopard. Iphoto is now showing blank squares. I already rebuilt the library. What next?

Info in the title. I've received conflicting advice help from the Apple Store so I thought I'd try here. I've restored iphoto from my lastest back-up on time machine from my old computer (iphoto works well on old computer), I've rebuilt the library, I've put the old library on a thumb drive and loaded it manually. It's all there on my old computer, but won't work in my new iphoto.

Try directly copying the Library from the old machine.
To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

You would have to contact the carrier to which it is locked and see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify.
Or does "won't work" mean something else?

Been trying about 2 weeks now to get the xcode 4 for snow leopard that I purchased for $5 installed on my new macbook pro but I get the same error. After several frustrating calls and emails the final verdict from Apple was either contact the developer and get a copy (uh Apple right?) or you just can't install it since they've removed it from the App Store. They said just upgrade to Lion but I can't upgrade to Lion on my work machine since well Lion brings down our NAS. So I'm totally hosed on this one. Apple should not force us to move to Lion. That's not right.
There isn't a version of Xcode on this machine so there shouldn't be any conflicts. I REALLY need Xcode 4 installed and this is really frustrating because I already paid for the thing.

This information might be useful for those who are not members of the $99/year iOS Developer Program. I am not a member, I have Snow Leopard, and I purchased Xcode 4.0 for $5 from the Mac App Store in March 2011. Just for fun I searched the app store for Xcode. As expected, the only search result is Xcode 4.2 with stated minimum requirement 10.7 (Lion). I am curious why it even shows Snow Leopard users the active Free button that implies I can download it. I don't know how the app store works but I assume it would not let me install this on 10.6 Snow Leopard.
But the Purchased view shows Xcode for Snow Leopard. I noticed the button on the right showed Update rather than Installed. Clicking the item name to find details including the version number shows Your request could not be completed. I decided to update in hopes this would be 4.2. I deleted Install Xcode from my Applications folder, restarted the App Store, then pressed the Update button. 1.77GB later I have Install Xcode in my Applications folder, preview shows version 4.2 (used to show 4.0.2),
The installer just finished running, I now have Xcode 4.2 build 4C199. About Xcode.pdf in the Developer folder starts with Developer tools for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and iOS 5. So this is clearly not exactly the same as Xcode 4.2 for Lion. It does include the iOS 5 SDK, LLVM 3.0, etc. Not sure what is different in the Lion build.

Make sure iTunes on the computer is logged into the account on the phone.
Plug the iPhone in.
In the popup window warning about wiping your phone, hit cancel.
In the left pane of iTunes, the phone icon should be there.
Right click on it, select transfer purchases.
Note: this will only transfer music bought from iTunes. Not mp3's from amazon or ripped from CD's.

Make sure you are purchasing from the appropirate App Store.
Click Categories from the menu top of the App Store window.
Now click the round flag icon bottom right corner of the window to select the correct country.
By the way, your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside in order to make purchases.
