How can I re-query an LOV?

JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
I have a requirement to allow users to have a favorites page where they can add a favorite charge code, or other type of favorite. These favorites are then shown at the top of the LOV.
For example if you save a charge code in your favorites list, it will show up in the charge code LOV at the top.
My question is how do I force the Charge Code LOV to refresh and pick up the newly added favorite? I am trying to do this in the afterCommit of the FavoritesImpl; finding the VO where the charge code LOV appears then getting the charge code accessor VO then clearing the cache and re-querying the LOV VO. This is not working, not getting errors just can't seem to get the LOV VO to clear and re-query.
Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks, that looks like a route I may have to go. Let me clarify a little:
1. When a user saves a favorite it is inserted into the favorites table.
2. The charge code LOV is JOINED with the favorites table to allow for showing the selected favorites at the top.
I was hoping that given the above there would be some way to refresh the ChargeCode LOV (view accessor) so that the newly saved item would be included.
Does this make sense?

    Hi,
    It looks to me that end result will give you distinct values because of distinct clndr_id. If my thinking is correct, can you use UNION ALL istead of UNION? This will reduce your query execution time by not spending time on removing duplication of results (UNION removes duplication).
    Do you have fresh statistics on the tables/indexes involved in this query?

  • How can i increse query performance other than creating aggregates

    Hi,
           i created one query and it will take more time to give a report i created aggregates but no use again it will take same so pls give me a option to increase the query performance.
    bye .
    sandhya.

    Hi SANDHYA,
    You can increase the query performance by using indices too. You can search a table for data records that satisfy certain search criteria faster using an index.
    An index can be considered a copy of a database table that has been reduced to certain fields. This copy is always in sorted form. Sorting provides faster access to the data records of the table, for example using a binary search. The index also contains a pointer to the corresponding record of the actual table so that the fields not contained in the index can also be read.
    Pls refer the follwoing links for more idea about indices

  • How can i  manipulate run time  LOV

    hi,
    i have created a LOV for assign_to field .
    LOV used view object which is based on the Login(loginid,loginname) field.
    now i want to manipulate LOV data run time
    the person who is login to application those name not shown in LOV. which is based on processScope variable value.
    i have also create view criteria for login viewobject using bind variable. but how can i use it.

    Hi Manish,
    1. create a view object to get the assigned_to list.
    2. create a view criteria where you will pass the logged in user through bind variable.
         3. use not equal to operation in view criteria and filter the logged in user from assgined to list.
    4. Check the following link to achieve the dependant LOV's http://andrejusb.blogspot.in/2008/12/cascading-lovs-in-oracle-adf-11g-update.html .
    if these input not solving your problem update more information about your requirement.

    Can any one help me , how can i rewrite the above query using analytical functions .,
    Sekhar

    Not sure of your requirements but this mayhelp reduce your code;
    <untested>
    SUM (
       CASE
       WHEN tt.transactiontypecode IN
          ('WITHDRAWAL_CHECK_FEE', 'REJECTED_ACH_LOAD_FEE', 'WITHDRAWAL_ACH_REV', 'WITHDRAWAL_CHECK_REV',
           'WITHDRAWAL_CHECK_FEE_REV', 'REJECTED_ACH_LOAD_FEE_REV', 'OVERDRAFT_FEE_REV','STOP_CHECK_FEE_REV',
           'LOAD_ACH_REV', 'OVERDRAFT_FEE', 'STOP_CHECK_FEE')
       THEN th.transactionamount
       ELSE 0) feeAlso, you might want to edit your post and use &#91;pre&#93; and &#91;/pre&#93; tags around your code for formatting.

  • How can I avoid query result overlapping in Analysis for Office?

    Hello everybody
    I have a question relating to Analysis for Office. If I've a workbook with for example two queries, how can I avoid that the query above the other one overlaps the query results of the lower query?
    The lower query result should adapt according the the query results of the first query.
    Does anybody have an idea? In Bex Analyzer I have the Option to insert a scrollbar for a workbook- is this function available in Analysis für Office? (But that way isn't the way I prefer).
    Thank you in advance.
    Kind regards
    Heike

    Not sure about this - could you take a look at this thread that suggests VBA Placing two tables in Analysis for office without overlap
    I am wondering if the next release might help?  See Figure 1 of Analysis Roadmap Update - Beta Preview, Part 2

  • How can change the query where clause values in formatted search

    Hi
    I have a formatted search with the below sql
    Select ItemCode,ItemName from OITM
    where ItemCode like 'FX%'
    how can I change 'FX%' to another value
    I tried to make it as paramter
    where ItemCode like $[ItemCode]
    but I am receiving an error
    sincerely yours
    Riade Asleh

    Try this:
    Select ItemCode,ItemName from OITM
    where ItemCode = $[$5.0.0]
    5 = Item number of form (On item master data 5 is item-number)
    0 = Column of item... since item 5 is no matrix 0 shoul be used.
    0 = Casting type (0 is default, but int, string and date is possible)

  • How can I prevent query executing on loading page with POJO dc

    I created with POJO datacontrol with a method return a list of data. I created a taskflow with a page fragment to add the POJO function as a form. I found the method is called every time when the page is being loaded. How can I control it not to be invoked at loading time. Only invoked when I click the button binding to the method. Thanks.

    Hi,
    I created with POJO datacontrol with a method return a list of data. I created a taskflow with a page fragment to add the POJO function as a form. I found the method is called every time when the page is being >loaded. How can I control it not to be invoked at loading time. Only invoked when I click the button binding to the method. Thanks.remove the pojo function added as a form from pageDef file (you can do it manually by rightclick on page -> page defination.
    then click '+' icon on Bindings section -> on insert item dialog box select method binding.
    then select your pojo data control and select the method that you want to add (if it has parameters then leave it blank for now.)
    for executing operation binding(method call) create a button action action listener and add following code
    BindingContext bindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();
    BindingContainer bindings = bindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    OperationBinding operationBinding = bindings.getOperationBinding("method name");
    operationBinding.getParamsMap().put("param-name", "param-value"); //incase if method has parameters
    // Invoke the method
    operationBinding.execute();Regards,

  • How can I get query filter dates in report heading?

    <p>Hello everybody.</p><p>I&#39;m pretty new at this so I hope this is the place to ask this question.</p><p>I&#39;m trying to create a report in WebI where I want a number of cases sorted by a number of categories and between different dates. The dates are supposed to be selceted at the time you are running the report (like "I want all cases between 2006-03-13 and 2006-05-30). And this is ofcourse done by using the "Finished date" object that I&#39;ve created in the universe as a filter. </p><p> The dates selected in the query is supposed to be included in the report heading (like "Results of cases between {date 1} and {date 2}". I have been reading the documentation about free cells, but the only thing I&#39;ve found was about last refresh date and drill level.</p><p> Anyone who understand what I&#39;m talking about <img src="/modules/tinymce/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" width="18" height="18" />and know how I can accomplish this?</p><p>Thanks in advance!</p>
