how can i reload font information while the jvm is running.
I'm having the following problem...
A program is running.
A user installs a new font on the system (Xwindows in this case)
Java doesn't display the font when i ask :
java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.getLocalGraphicsEnvironment().getAvailableFontFamilyNames();Thus i think that java buffers its font information somewhere. Anyone knows how to refresh te buffer?

How can i change font used by the java plugin?

im running j2se 1.4.0 on win2k, and the java plugin is using a font that is not readable because sized way too small (also, the font is not a 'standard' font).
the font is also applied do class loading or exception messages in java applets (in IE5.5, but i don't think that this is browser-related).
is there a possibility to change to font (or the font size)?

thanks for the tip, but this problem seems not to be tightened to the font.properties file:
the wrong font is only used with the j2sdk1.4.0 plugin, not with that from j2re1.4.0 (actually, i had installed jre first, and afterwards j2sdk without removing j2re before). changing the plugin used back to j2re made the java console display the correct font (though the font.properties files were identically in both cases).

Can i edit my program while the program is running?

With some programming languages you can pause the program while it's running, make a change to it and continue. This feature would be very usefull to me. Does anyone know a routine to accomplish this in LabView?

Hello Dusty,
I have a program with some filter routines in a library. The user can select one of the filters and process data with it.
Because of the "call by reference" I can edit those filters while the main vi is running. And I can even add or delete the filters, as the main vi has a "scan" routine to check for new filters... I thought such a mechanism could be helpful to you.

How can you execute a function while the mouse is over a button.

I've got a movieclip I want to move across the screen on the x axis to the left or right depending on which button the user hovers their mouse over.
I thought I could do this with the following:
right_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, moveRight);
left_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, moveLeft);
function moveRight(e.MouseEvent):void
     sampleMovieclip_mc.x += 1;
function moveLeft(e.MouseEvent):void
     sampleMovieclip_mc.x -= 1;
But I find that it only moves it 1 pixel when the mouse first goes over the button and not continiously as it stays over it. I tried using Event.ENTER_FRAME to call the moveRight and moveLeft functions, but it just keeps going and I'm not sure how to kill the function once they move the mouse off of the button.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using function module generic extraction and using PACKAGE SIZE S_S_IF-MAXSIZE, then comment it or remove it wherever necessary. Then it should bring it in one single datapack from the source itself.

As long as you have a form of payment (credit or debit card) with a USA source, and with a billing address in the USA, then you just need to change your payment information on your account to that, change your country in the store settings, and you will then be able to shop in the USA store.
Your AppleID will work in any country's store, as long as your payment source and billing addres are also specific to that country (and you are in that country as well, as there may be IP filters in place to stop use outside of the country).

Software applications are usually installed in the Applications folder on the Macintosh HD and are accessible to all users.
I would advise you to check the Applications folder and see if your software is in there.
Next step would be to Control Click or Right Click on the application and choose "Get Info" and make sure the permissions are set to "Read & Write" for all users. The article below provides more details:

I need phone number(s) and all other information in the cards. We enter various pieces of data, other than the standard name address & phone numbers and we print all information on each card so it fits in a 5x7 inch loose binder. We have used InTouch software for many years and it has served us extremely welll, however, the publisher (The Prairie Group) has not, and apparently has no plans to update their software to be compatible with any Mac OSX OS beyond 10.6. Any help will be appreciated!

You can select what you want included in a list format. In the Print command from Contacts, click the Show Details button. Then in the Style pulldown menu select "Lists" and there you'll be able to select what you want included. You can also select what you wish included if you select the Pocket Address Book style.
If neither of those options will work for you, then you will need to look to third-party software. Here's one possibility that seems to get good reviews:

I haven't done more than try it to make sure that it works with OS X 10.9's Contacts, which it does, but you can download their demo and try it yourself.

Yes, I was using iTunes to sync over cable without problems since orinigal purchase in 2011 and using 10.6 w/o problem. There was an "update" in Nov 2012 that crashed the sync service. I went to the Apple Store and reviewed the problem with the Geniuses there. It was discovered at that time that the update included mandated use of iCloud but enough of the un-updated code remained that he was able to patch functions to allow Microsoft Office to still sync over iTunes.
This March (+/-) there was another "update" to 10.6 that totally destroyed the patch that was in place so there was no sync service available between Microsoft and iTunes what-so-ever. Then recently, because of some unknown process, all my notes, contacts, and calendars were erased in both my Apple utilities and Microsoft utilities.
After many hours of frustration I was able to recover most of the information to the Apple utilities only, but those were unstable. At my visit to the Apple store it was suggested that an upgrade to 10.8 might solve the stability problem. That it did but being connected to the iCloud all the time keeps using up all my Internet time and I have nothing left to check emails or do research.
This, to me, is not my problem but one created by Apple. I have searched the Internet and support groups and there doesn't seem to be a solution.
The "aircraft mode" turns off all other communication functions and is not acceptable. Neither is disconnecting/turning off Airport on my MBP.
