How can i share a file using a bluetooth
I cant pair my ipad with some other devices, and i cant share files.
Bluetooth on the iPad is mainly aimed at devices such as headphones and keyboards, and not for sharing content : supported Bluetooth profiles. If you have the same app on both devices, and the app supports Bluetooth transfer, then you may be able to transfer content via Bluetooth between them.

How can I see all files used in a Report or Transaction
I need an expert advice. I am not an Abap programmer but probably this is the the correct forum to post my question.
I need to create a Query using same files that are used in report S_ALR_87012103 and some other additional files.
Is there any transaction or functionallity that I can use to see the files used by this report ?

Thx. in advance for your help
Edited by: Rob Burbank on Jun 19, 2009 1:33 PMThanks for your message. I just reviewed the files in SE36.
So I guess, next time I will have to check the name of the program in the status bar or the system status screen.
Then, I will have to use SE38 in DEV to see the "Dictionary Structures" in the source code.
However, on this case, I can not find the "KDF" in the source code or "Dictionary Structures".
Other than you technical expertise ... How did you know that this program is using the KDF Logical Database.
On my case, since I am not an Abap programmer, I would have to review all files described in the "Dictionary Structures" which by the way they are a bunch of files.
I prefer the logical view. I liked the way the files are displayed using the SE36 and "KDF"

How can you share Contacts and use Family Sharing?
Still sharing 1apple ID & 1 iCloud from way back when. Kids were little, syncing was simple... turned off their device iClouds and synced apps, playlist, shows w/ iMac via usb. I loved having my contacts, bookmarks, notes synced via iCloud and it became VERY handy when kid1 got an iPhone (appointments, practices, friends #s w/ ease!) We've recently added a macbook and another iPhone to the mix, we've got music issues & iPads ringing.... so a potential overall may be due?
Now that Family Sharing is here, it's still missing features that we USE:
* Notes (grocery list, packing lists...)
* Contacts (each family member has a 'group' name, they add to their group and the family's master list is 'all contacts' for anyone to access incase of emergencies.... anyone keeping up w/ kids lately?!)
* And the ever present iCloud icon is a looming feature for anyone, any age in the shared-family to be too curious...
* CAN any of these features be added along w/ Family Sharing?
HOW do I set up a simple family sharing system w/o interfering w/ bookmarks, personal notes, FaceTime/msg crossovers :
share our purchases (apps, music from our iTunes/playlists, podcast),
share our calendar
share our contacts
share a family notes
msgs/facetime for each member
mom: iphone, ipad, imac
dad: iphone
kid1: iphone, macbook
kid2: ipad
kid3: ipad
Thanks to anyone that has this set up and will share the method to my madness. Didn't know where to post this, sorry about that.After having burned the AudioCD from iTunes Menu Advanced choose "Submit Track Names ..."
That will put the data of your CD into CDDB.
It may take between some hour and a few days until it is recognized on a second computer through CDDB. -
How can I share a file with another mac computer?
I would like to send a file to my girlfriends computer. A macbook pro. I have a macbook. Can you tell me how to do this? Is it with file sharing, or blue tooth or something else. I is a logic .aif file.
ThanksHi,
There does seem to be a presumption in the other reply that your girlfriend is living with you.
A File transfer via Bonjour would then work.
Also the File Sharing in System Preferences > Sharing would cause her computer to show up on your Finder's side bar as a Share.
With iChat if you both have AIM Login names you could still do File Transfers.
(It is slightly more complicated if you have Jabber ID logged in alothough not impossible).

How can I share cache files between users in a sandboxed Mac app?
Our app downloads media files and stores them for use later. The size can be up to a few GB so it's considerable. Because this can be so large I want the cache to be shared across different users. My understanding of sandboxing is that you cannot write outside of the ~/Library/Containers/<your app id>... directory, thus there will be one copy per user.
I get an access denied error when trying these folders (not surprising but I tried it anyway):
/Users/Shared/...
/Library/Application Support/...
Does anybody know of a way I can have a sandboxed application with some kind of user agnostic cache storage?It's not worth the trouble. There are very few multi-user Macs out there. The only way to accomplish this in the sandbox would be a shared cache location that a sure would setup in preferences and store with a security-scoped bookmark. Each user would have to set the same option to use the shared cache location.

How can i Store a file using in a servlet?
This is because i have a Applet<->Servlet comunication.....
With the following application i can store a image in a file in the directory that i indicate.....
class rec_image
public static void main(String h[]) {
Connection con = null;
Clob cl;
JPanel photo;
FileOutputStream file = null;
try {
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver").newInstance();
con= DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@112.21.2.233:1521:db_name","user","password");
con.setAutoCommit(false);
String query = "Select Pict from Pictures where ID_Pict = '180'";
Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery( query );
if ( rs.next() ) {
//Get the GIF
byte[] bytes = rs.getBytes(1);
file = null;
file = new FileOutputStream ("leslie.gif");
file.write(bytes);
if (file != null)
file.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
String err = e.toString();
System.out.println(err);
} catch (Exception e) {
String err = e.toString();
System.out.println(err);
} finally {
//if (file != null)
Now...i need to do the same...but....using a servlet that is called by a applet....but this is not functioning :( ,ie, no file is stored in the directory that i indicate....
The servlet would recive the query from the applet and the servlet would store the image file in the directory that i indicate....but it is not working correctly...something is wrong.......
I not obtain any exception ...is like the servlet wasn't executed.....
I think it...because i dont obtain the System.out.println coments (that i put in the servlet code) in the console and any file is stored :(.....
Somebody could help me please?
This is a snnipet of applet code.....
class store_pict extend JApplet {

outToServlet.close();
} catch (Exception e){
System.out.println("Error en el mtodo make_servlet_connection()");
e.printStackTrace();
System.out.println("End applet-servlet to store picture");
This is my servlet code:

file.write(bytes);
if ( file != null )
file.close();
} catch(Exception e) {
System.out.println("Not Stored File");
e.printStackTrace();
System.out.println("End Servlet");
Please help me.....

MaryGreetings,
//Setup servlet connection
URLConnection servletConnection = servletURL_bytes.openConnection();
...Here's the first problem: your servlet is an HttpServlet but your applet is treating it as though it is a GenericServlet. The above should correctly be:
HttpURLConnection servletConnection = (HttpURLConnection) servletURL_bytes.openConnection();Note: using a "generic" URLConnection will, of course, "work". However, by instead using an HttpURLConnection (to communicate with an HTTP resource), your applet will also gain significant ease in working with the HTTP protocol - parsing server responses (remember, servlets run as extensions, not replacements, of their hosting servers), for example - as in any one of, currently (http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html), 40 possible status codes... - not to mention...
servletConnection.setDoInput(true);
servletConnection.setDoOutput(true); // to allow us to write to the URL
servletConnection.setUseCaches(false); // to ensure that we do contactHere's a subsequent problem: your servlet is expecting the data to arrive by way of... er... "POST" (no pun intended ;). However, the default 'HTTP request method' is "GET". So here should also be:
servletConnection.setRequestMethod( "POST" );However, it should be noted that in the case of "POST"-ing file data, it must be sent as a multipart message and this can be a literal "pain in the neck" to manage. Therefore, it is far better to HTTP "PUT" the file to the server - which can easily be done as is coded in your applet - though your servlet must, in turn, be refactored to respond to such a request. Of course, all of this "PUT"-ing and "POST"-ing can be dispensed with entirely by simply refactoring your servlet to be a GenericServlet, though you will also have to devise your own protocol for communicating (e.g. success or failure) between the tiers...
Please help me.....I hope this helps.
Thanks in advance ...

I don't have Itunes on my Linux box, How can I Copy Movie Files using SSH?
Can anyone point me to the directory where Movie files are stored..Since I don't have itunes on my machine, I can even search for movie files to see where these movie files may be..
Any help would be appreciated..All purchases are considered final, but you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will give you a refund or credit : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

Hi Folks,
Can we share >2GB file using NFS?
Regards,
Hameed....This is interesting though, i wasn't aware of the fact that you could run 'share' on a file. But i did some testing and it seems to work.
It makes me wonder how to access it though, i don't think you can mount a file, you would have to mount the directory it resides in and then access it..
Its of course possible that you would be able to access a shared file with automount and /net..
Anyway, the man page indicates that the design is intended to be used on directories...
