How can I transfer attachments on my emails to imac apps like pages or numbers

How can I transfer email attachments to my imac apps like pages or numbers, so that I would be able to rearrange?

Save the attachments to your Desktop or a location where you can easily find them and then import them into the application you want to use them in.
In Pages, for example, you can select 'Choose' from the Insert menu, navigate to the image and import it. You can also just drag an image to a Pages document. I expect the process will be similar for Numbers.

got a new laptop and need to transfer two usernames to it, complete with all documents help?

Assuming you haven't already set up a user, the easiest way is to use the Setup Assistant during first boot of the new Mac, with the two Macs connected by firewire.
You'll be prompted to migrate from a choice of sources - choose "from another Mac", select the catagories of data you want to transfer and follow the instructions.

Move the iPhoto library from the Pictures item of the Finder's sidebar on the MacBook Pro to the same location on the iMac via FireWire Target Disk mode, or a drive, partition, or disk image formatted as Mac OS Extended, or through AFP file sharing over a network.

When filling out a job application, how can you attach a reseme that stored in a app like ifiles or PDF expert?

From Safari on iOS (iPad or iPhone) you can't. Teh only files you can upload are image files.
There are some other browser available, such as iCab Mobile, that include document storage and do permit this. No guarantee it would work on every site however (depends on how the upload field is set up).

  • How can I transfer photos from iPhoto on an iMac to iPhoto on a macbook

How can I transfer my photos from iphoto on an imac to iphoto on a macbook, both have same operating software.

Depends on what exactly you want to do and on what version of iphoto you have on each
To move selected events from one to the other pruchase iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ -  and use it to move the photos or events
To move the entire iPhoto library
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

  • How can I open attachments from my email

When I get attachments it won't let me open them. How can I fix this

    Which email? Using Firefox?

  • I have two questions. 1 how can I put attachments with my email. 2 how can I see my folders eg sent, and others I have set up on my Mac. Thanks, Arie.

Oops, was a bit premature with the questions.
1 Basically I want to be able to attach a picture to my email. I know I can email from my pictures but it is hard to keep track of those emails.
2 how can I get to my folders. I know they are there when I sort my emails into folders, but say I want to get into one of the folders, eg sent. How ?
    Thanks, Arie.

If you start in the photos app and select the photo(s) to email, then that email should go into your Sent folder on your email account, so you should be able to keep track of them from there.
To get to your other email folders just tap your account id at the top left of your Inbox (it will be Mailboxes if you've only one account set up on the iPad) and that should take you to a list of your folders, and just tap the one that you want to go into. If you have more than one account active on the iPad you will have a Mailboxes button at the top of the list of folders that allows you to go up another level so that you can select a different account and then folder

  • How can I transfer apps like 'Pages' and 'Numbers' to my iPhone from my MacBook?

I've been trying to transfer Pages, Numbers and Keynote to my iPhone to save myself the trouble of taking my whole laptop to College with me every day but I don't know how and I'm wondering if I am going to have to buy them from the app store on my phone. I had no problem transfering the apps from my iMac to my MacBook Pro using Bluetooth but my computer and phone don't seem to be having any of that.

OS X apps can't run on an iOS device, and iOS apps can't run on a Mac or PC.
You need to purchase these apps from the app store which are written/optimized for iOS devices.

  • How do I open attachments to my emails. What app/prog do I need.

I have just purchased Ipad 2. On receiving emails I find that I am unable to open attachments, either jpeg or video etc.
Spoke to the ipad help line and despite following his directions, apart from googling for info, I am no further forward.
Being a silver surfer and new to ipad, I am now at a loss as to where or what to do to progress. Can you help?

What kind or type of video files and where are they coming from? Videos can be a touchy issue here becasue of video pirating, so to continue to assist you, we need that sort of information.

  • How can I transfer my camera photos in PSE9 or ACR like in PSE8 ?

When I had PSE8 when I loaded my camera into the computer Bridge would open up and then If RAW, when I opened the file ACR would open.
If Jpeg then it would go right to PSE8.
With the RAW file a double click would open PSE8.
Now with PSE 9, bridge is gone and I cannot figure a way to load my camera into PSE.
I now have to use my Nikon transfer into Nikon View NX2.
    Two Problems :
    (1) I cannot find a way to have PSE 9 load from View NX2, I have to drag and drop onto my desktop and then drag and drop into PSE 9.
    (2)
If I make any changes in NX2, the drag and drop into PSE 9 does not have the changes the Original RAW file (negative) opens in PSE 9.
It is a complete hassle, Photo Elements was originally designed in my opinion for an easier way to use Photoshop, and much cheaper of course.
If there is not solution, what does everyone use ?
I want a program that can edit RAW and transfer the adjusted RAW file and Jpeg into PSE if I need further corrections without a lot of hassle.
I am a MAC user and Aperture is on sale for $80.00
Also there is Light room and Nikon Capture.

I just received the following from the Apple Aperture Forum :
Exporting Images to an External Editor
Aperture provides an easy way to transfer images to another application for changes and then bring the revised images back into Aperture. You can specify an application as an external editor in the Export pane of the Preferences window. For example, if your image editing sometimes requires one or more of the specialized tools available in Adobe Photoshop, you can select Photoshop as your external editor. You can then select an image and choose Photos > Edit With > [application name]. Aperture makes a new master and version of your image and opens it in Adobe Photoshop. After you make your changes and save the image, the revised version automatically reappears in Aperture. The external editor doesn’t change the original master.
To set an external editor for images in Aperture
Choose Aperture > Preferences, then click Export.
Click the Choose button to the right of the External Photo Editor field, navigate to an application in the Select Application dialog, then click Select.
The application’s name appears in the External Photo Editor field.
Choose the appropriate file format (TIFF or PSD) from the External Editor File Format pop-up menu, then enter a resolution in the “dpi” field.
This is the file format Aperture uses when opening files in external editors.
Tip: It’s a good idea to choose the 16-bit option for the External Editor file format because the larger bit depth provides an exponentially higher number of colors each pixel can express, and the higher bit depth option helps reduce color clipping and banding.
To use an external editor in Aperture
Select an item in the Browser.
Choose Photos > Edit with > [application name] (or press Command-Shift-O).
Aperture creates a new master (leaving the original unchanged), converts it to the chosen file format, and then opens the file in the external editor. The file is tracked as a new master stacked with the original master.
When you’ve finished modifying the image, audio, or video file in the external application, save the file.
The saved file is automatically updated in Aperture.
I have asked the question about 16 bit.
I tried to use PSE 9 with 16 bit from some scanned slides that were 16 bit and certain adjustments were not allowed like the brushes.
Anyone have issues with this procedure ?

  • How can I transfer programs from mac to mac?programs like microsoft word and porwerpoint...

Do I need a cable to transfer from a macbook pro to another?

Use Migration Assistant in the Utilites folder.
It will create a new account on the machine matching the other Mac (provided it's the same or older OS X version).
If both Mac's have Firewire, then you can connect that between them and hold T boot the one your going to transfer from, it's hard drive appears on the desktop of the other Mac, then you can run Migration Assistant.
If you don't have Firewire, then you can use Carbon Copy Cloner on the older Mac to clone it's boot drive to a blank external USB drive (first format the drive in Disk Utility 1 partition Option: GUID Format OS X extended journaled) all data on drive will be erased. Then you can connect that to the new Mac and use Migration Assistant to transfer the user and it's programs over.
However keep in mind Office is copy protected, so it's likely going to complain and want to revalidate or something.
Sometimes it's just easier to reinstall the program from fresh source and enter the license key.
A even easier method is to avoid Office altogether instead if possible.
LibreOffice is a donationware/free cross platform office program that reads Office files, it has non-copy protected versions for Linux, OS X and Windows, so there is no hassle.
However if your running OS X 10.8, you have to head to System Preferences > Security > General and set your downloads to "Anywhere" to install it.

  • How can I send attachments as an icon and not a full page pasted in my document?

I send a lot of attachments in my job and I am new to apple.  90% of the time I can not get an attachment to be the same as when I used a pc.  It paste it as a full document.  I have looked at help and I have been able a few times to click "view as an icon" but often that is not given to me as an option.  I have checked in the send mail box 'send word friendly" but still most of the time I can not send an attachment properly. does it need to be a certian extention or what?  Why?  Help!!

The easiest way to do this from the Finder is simply drag the document icon onto the Mail icon in the Dock. That will open Mail with the document already attached.
If the recipient reports problems, try compressing the document first. Highlight the document and choose "Compress" from the Finder's File menu. Then drag it to Mail.
If the recipient still reports problems, you may first have to save the document in Word in a compatible format. If your PC colleagues are using an earlier version of Word you will have to use the lower common format.

For the music, you can transfer your music from your old computer to your new computer using an external HHD, once the music are in your new computer, open up itunes and add your music folder to the itunes library, do the same with videos.
For your apps, log into your your itunes account and there you will find your "purchased" apps list. Cilck on purchase to see the list and download them again back to your computer.
