How can max memory be undefined ?

Im trying to monitor memory usage of my app. The memoryUsage class says that max memory can be undefined (see http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/management/MemoryUsage.htm), how can this be, isnt it always
-XMx (or 64MB) if not defined.

I am creating a custom MP3 player where audio playback is
started by clicking on the title of the audio, but I also want to
be able to start play abck from the Play/Pause button. In order to
implement this dual approach, I am thinking of checking if a sound
has been loaded (with 'mySound.loadSound("path to sound") already
by the my titleButton.
I am thinking of doing this by checking the
'mySound.position' as that would be 'undefined' if there was no
sound loaded.
But how can I check it for being 'undefined', what woud be
the syntax? Itexpects a number so I tried -1, but that didn't work.
Or is there a better way?

How to Determine Safe Max Memory Limit?

From what I understand, the amount of memory available to your AIR game on a device will vary depending on how many other apps the user is running, the type of device, etc.
So with this in mind, how does one define a safe max memory limit for a given device? What percentage of a device's total RAM can we assume we have access to?
Here are the iOS RAM Specs
iPod (4th Gen): 128Mb.
iPad 1: 256 MB
iPad 2, iPod Touch (5th Gen): 512 MB
iPad3: 1 GB
I already have highly optimized texture atlases using PVRTC ATF for best use of memory, but if you've ever worked with a passionate creative department, you'll know they always want more. I need to be able to tell them exactly how many spritesheets they have to work with for a given device - how would I do this?
NOTE: iPhones/iPod Touches/iPads all have a Unified Memory Architecture which mean that both the CPU and GPU share system memory, which means there is no dedicated GPU GRAM on these devices. So the RAM listed above, I assume, is shared by both the game logic and the GPU.

Here are the (rough) max memory limits to expect before an out-of-memory crash will occur:
iPad1: 127MB/256MB (crash amount/total amount)
iPad2: 275MB/512MB
iPad3: 645MB/1024MB
iPhone4: 325MB/512MB
Note that max memory limit will vary depending on how many apps a user is running, but these figures are a good rough guide. See the Stack Overflow post for more details.

Or search 'disk size' in the App Store.
Be carefull with what you delete & have a backup BEFORE you start, you may also want to reboot to try to free any memory that may have been written to disk.

Hello, I want to know how can I use my MP3 player like a flash memory.
I have one and if I conect it with other computers I can't transfer documents and with a flash memory I conect it in all the computers with Windows XP and all of they detect the flash memory and they can transfer documents.
With my Zen Xtra I connect it and the computer detects it but I can't transfer anything because the computer doesn't have the software.
My question is.. Do I have to install the software in all the computers that I use ? or there are other forms to conects PC and MP3 Player? ( I want to transfer documents like text, image, etc)

But some MP3 players do that, why this one can't be connected with all the computers ?

At the present time, the only way to clear that is to restore the phone as new. Perhaps a future iOS update will give us the option to clear that cache.

if you have not reduced it by using a speed controller either hardware or software or by the 7v mod its already going as fast as it will at 12 v dc you cannot speed it up only slow it down

You can't. iCloud is not for general file backup from a Mac. It's for backup up and syncing data between mobile devices and and Macs and The following is from this Apple document: iCloud: Backup and restore overview.

You can't. There is no memory card. It uses flash memory that's soldered to the logic board. If you didn't back it up, your data is gone.

If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

YES, that is the free 5GB icloud memory for each apple ID. Can I not add the free 5Gb of my second Iphone to my original apple ID (5GB also) as I want to use one Apple ID name on both 2 Iphones? You can't do it directly from your iPad, the camera connection kit only copies photos/videos to the iPad's Photos app, it can't be used to copy them off.
You can copy photos to a computer and from there to the memory stick : Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC.
