How can my co-worker and I set it up so we can see each others calendar like what is available in Outlook?

One of my co-workers and I work very closely and schedule appointments for one another. In doing so it would really be convenient if I could open up his calendar to see when he would be available and he schedules meetings for us both as well. I know this is availabe in OUtlook and at this is important to us both. Please help?????

To do this you will need a calendar service that is capable of being used with the extension lightning. A very popular solution is Google calendar. the next thing you will need is the lightning add on which can be installed by going to the main menu selecting add-ons then typing lightning into the search bar the first extension should be lightning which when installed will restart Thunderbird and be available by clicking the calendar button beside the close button near the top of the screen. then all you have to do is save the ical file the Google calendar/ other calendar gives you. then open the main menu again hover over the new message button and to one side a calendar button will appear click that and a box will appear. click the bullet that says "on the network" and click the next button. there will be a list and you will be able to select the type that says ical. once done it should prompt you for the ical file you saved. when you select it it should import your calendars and update when your friend updates their calendar. there are add-ons that make this slightly simpler but that is the default way of doing this with any calendar service.

  • When I connect via face time with my friend's ipad or iphone we can see each other and I can hear them but they can't hear me.  HELP!

When I connect from my mac via facetime with my friend's iphone or ipad we can see each other and I can hear them but they can't hear me.  The mute is not applied, and the microphone seems to work with other applications.  Help!

I have same issue in my MB Air with Snow Leopard.   It used to work fine but one day I found that the mic mute was locked on.   I went to System and ensured mic was working by seeing the bars move.   I went to Facetime > Video drop down and it is all greyed out so not active and the mic symbol in Facetime pane has a line through it (muted) and is dead.    I have tried everythinng to UNmute the mic.   Two way video is fine and I can hear the other party perfectly.    Seems like this happened about the time of a Snow Leopard update but may be wrong.    Issue is several months old and, well, getting old!    I love Facetime with my grandkids etc. who all use Apple stuff.    There HAS to be a way to reactivate the mic in my MB Air.    Could someone please help??

  • HT4783 I have an early 2010 and a late 2011 MacBook Pro, they both have the latest upgrade of Lion. Neither of them can "see" each other in AirDrop. I have reset the apple ID on both. Is there any way I can make them "see" each other?

As far as I know the older mac is compatible with AirDrop.
    Thanks

So by dual-signal, are you referring to 2.5Ghz/5Ghz signal?
I'm pretty sure my Mac mini 2011 has that but for whatever reason I cannot send via AirDrop to the mini. The mini can see other computers like my 2010 MacBook Pro and send files to it, but not in reverse. The MBP is unable to see or send to the mini unless the mini has engaged it to send a file to MBP. Even then it's temporary and the mini will disappear from the MBP's AirDrop radar upon completing the delivery of its file.
So I'm a bit perplexed on how the Mac mini has AirDrop, can see other AirDrop computers and send files to them, but cannot be seen on other Macs to reciprocate.

  • TS3999 I am trying to merge my calendar with my wife's with I cloud so that we both can see each others.  how do I do this

my wife and I have iPhones  and separate accounts with icloud.  Is there a way that we can merge them together through icloud to allow us to see each other's calender?

It is very difficult to do this if you want it to look a bit convincing, but if you don't want something very realistic but just to do it for fun it may be doable.
What you  want is to put one clip atop the other and use a mask.
If you use a still image of your baby and your moving lips do not move a lot within the frame, this looks possible and not too difficult.
Apply the "Vignette Mask" to your clip and adjust its size, position an fallof parameters so that the vignette captures just your mouth. And use the Transform tool to resize and position over your baby's mouth.
You may end up with something a little better than this quick and dirty example I just made :-)
Edit: just after I posted I realized that Karsten beat me :-)

  • HT204387 My iphone and ipad can see each other on bluetooth but can't connect

When I touch to connect, I get an error that reads 'make sure the iphone is turned on and in range". I can see the bluetooth connection on both devices, they just won't connect. I have turned off wifi on both devices. I have also tried connecting to & from both devices.

I downloaded an app that can share a presentation loaded on one device with up to 15 other iOS devices. It said it would work over bluetooth.  I didn't realize you couldn't "pair" the devices but still use bluetooth. The developer said just to turn them both on and low and behold, it works like a charm and I feel silly.
Thanks for your interest, I've learned a lot today.

  • My wife tracks our kids on her I pad calendar by color coding each child. When she syncs with my  calendar they lose their color. Can we sync and see each others calendar and keep the different colors

Can you sync calendars and keep the color coded entries of the original calendar

When you say she syncs with your calendar, do you mean she shares your calendars through iCloud, she subscribes to your calendar, or something else?
You can color-code your view of a shared or subscribed calendar the same way you color-code one of your own calendars. In the Calendar app, tap the Calendars button at upper left, tap the ">"-in-a-blue-circle next to the calendar, and select a new color.

  • Two profiles on Imac - how can we see each others calendars

My husband and I both use our Imac and have two seperate profiles. I want to be able to see his calendar in my iCAL and vice versa.
Surely this must be possible somehow seeing as it's on the same computer without things like MobileMe etc......
    Any help would be appreciated.

Adding media directly to the media folder does not make it appear in the library.  iTunes doesn't really 'look' at that folder except to go to specific files when you call upon them from a library. You have to drag new content to each user's library, that is assuming each user has their own library.

  • Is there any place I can see a full list of what is available in my iCloud after my first full match?

It'd be really nice if I could log into a website somewhere which would list what's been matched, what's been not matched, but uploaded, and what's been purchased.
Seems like the only way is to open up a new install of iTunes and watch iCloud populate a blank library.

Sorry but no, Apple cannot give you that information. The only way they could give anyone such an IP address would be if they received a court order to do so, if even then; I don't know what sort of tracking and logs they do.
However, if this email claimed that someone had tried to reset your password and in any way gave you a link to click to confirm your account information, the email was almost certainly a phish. Such phishing messages have been quite common over the last two or three weeks and should be deleted without responding. You may wish to manually type in the URL for Apple's page for managing an Apple ID and change your password, just as a precaution, and make sure you've set good security questions using responses that can't just be looked up for you (they don't have to be real information; you can use any response you wish as long as you can remember what you entered).

  • I'm trying to add a new buddy but neither of us can see each other

it just says waiting for authorization in my offline buddies list where their status should be....help plaseee

    Hi,
Delete then from your Buddy List.
Arrange a time when you know the other person will be On Line and add them at this point.
It is due to the fact iChat send the Request for Authorisation once.
If you Buddy does not see it they cannot reply and they don't get added properly.
Other Jabber apps send this Request repeatedly until the Buddy Accepts or Declines.
If this is a GoogleTalk name then you could try adding them in the Chat option on your Google Web Mail page or iGoogle page as they are more likely to see the request.

  • Computers on network can't see each other and can't communicate

I have a Linksys router, WRT54G, which calls itself wireless but has only wired connections.   I have my computer and my phone (for Vonage service) plugged into it.    My router is then connected to the household router by a CAT 5 cable.   The household router is also a Linksys; wireless and with plugs for a half dozen computers.
I get teh Internet fine with no problem, but we want to share my printer on the household network.   My housemate cannot see me on the household network and can't see my router either, and can't communicate with my computer with the \\Name command.   I can't see the household network and can't communicate with my housemate's computer with the \\Name command.
I am running Windows Firewall.   I am sure that so is my housemate.
Is there something special we have to do to set up our routers for the household network to work properly?
It looks like I'm supposed to configure my router to communicate with another router instead of connect directly to the Internet, but when I tried htat and enabled interactive adjusting or whatever I suddenly couldn't access the Intenet and my phone couldn't get a dial tone, until I changed it back.
Tehre isn't any explanation of how to do it anywhere.   There aer technical descriptions of what each thing does but I don't see where it says how to set it up or how to troubleshoot.
I don't know if we were supposed to set up networks and manually add each other's computers.  Apparently my housemate did not have to do that with his wife's computer or his notebook.    They just show up in the network.
    Yours,
    Dora

Thanks for your help.   Unfortunately between when I last looked at your name and when I managed to reply I forgot your name.
    1.  For the option that the parts of the network can see each other, you plug the cable into the OUTGOING port of the SECONDARY router?    That doesn't make a whole lot of sense; how cuold that possibly work?  The way I understand it, the signal can come in only through the incoming plug, which you call the "internet" plug, if I'm understanding you.
    2.  If you choose the setup that makes any sense - the cable is plugged into the incoming plug - the "internet" plug - on the secondary router, and the ethernet connection on the primary router, can all the computers see each other and their resources, ie, printers they want to share?
    3.  If not, why on earth?
    4.  for the second option, it looks like some steps are missing.   Why don't you need to disable DHCP and set the router to be a secondary router?
PM me for my contact details.
    Thanks!
    Yours,
    Dora Smith

  • 2 Mac can not see each other via airdrop under the same airport/timecapsule.

I have 2 iMac in my home with a TImeCapsule (gen4).
The wifi is on both 2.4G and 5G with the same SSID.
iMac A is working on 2.4GHz, iMac B is working on 5GHz.
So they can not see each other via airdrop, meanwhile they can see each other  in the left panel of Finder.app
Is it a known issue of AirDrop?

    Hi Kirby Zhou,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you would like to utilize file sharing between computers, not necessarily AirDrop. Please refer to the attached article for information on the file sharing process. If this is not what you are looking for, please let me know.

MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.1) calendar continues to "connect to server" and will not allow shut down or restart. Force quit worked. How can I make this calendar usable? The problem began after I updated to Maverick.

babowa, it seems like it is using Fuse & NTFS, so I don't think it's the classic WD + 10.9 mess, but extra WD tools & drivers can still break things MtTran.
MrTran, if you must use unsupported disk formats on your Mac you must also consider actually paying the developers that made the trial software.
It's probably a good idea to follow the developers removal instructions, reboot & then install one tool at a time.
MacFuse, FuseOSX, NTFS-3G are all likley to confict if you run older versions so you need to be sure you are using the latest version. I can't remeber which one depends on the other, so you will need to read the manuals.
When the disk is readable copy the data to another disk. You could probably do this from a Linux distro or Windows if OS X won't do it.
If you insist on only using the trial versions you will need to reinstall Mac OS, copy data off this disk & reformat it.
Is there any good reason for not using the Mac HFS extended format?
