How can we do personalization at User Level

Hi ,
I have extended a controller .
and I have to replace the seeded controller to extended controller using personalization at User Level.
Can any one suggest how can we do personalization at user level.

Hi,
If you have extended controller then why don't you use profile option for restricting at user level.
In controller use as following :
processRequest(...)
super.processRequest(...);
String userProfile = pageContect.getProfile("Profile option name");
if(null!= userProfile && !"".equalsIgnoreCase(userProfile.trim()) && "userRestriction".equals(userProfile.trim()))
//do your changes
follow same in processFormRequest as well.
Once it is done...replace you controller at site level. It will only work for the users for whom the profile option is set.

Hi,
Using the personalization i have enabled the exchang rate and exchange date for Non-catalog request items in iProcurement since, we are facing exchang rate issue.
i have enabled the personalization at responsibility level so all users are viewing the personalize fields. Now i want to restrict the personalize fields at the user levle. Is there any way i can do the personalization at the user levles?
Note: we are using the 11.5.10.2 version.

There's another way apart from personalizations.
Hi Suppose you have two fields say A and B and two users David and Henry.
You want David should see both the fields and Henry shoudn't...
Then in that case in the controller of the page in process request you cvan capture the Username from profile option
String user = (String)pageContext.getUserName();
if("David".equals(user))
field A .setRendered(true);
field B .setRendered(true);
else if("Henry".equals(user))
field A .setRendered(false);
field B .setRendered(false);
You can proceed this way....

Vineet,
the user management tab opens in Read Only mode - thats why the button is coming as disabled. There is a button for switching into Edit mode - it looks like a pen / pencil on the top bar. Click on that - your "Create User" button would be enabled.
Also regarding creation of Service User via code level you can see <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/thread?messageID=1057074">THIS</a> thread. hi. Here we are asking a stupid Q on very first post. How can we have an anonymous 'User i.d." for discussion group only? Seem to be stuck with our regular old original Apple i.d. I see how that can be changed, but don't really want to cuz just want to have my posts signed with a more anonymous i.d. name. Should be simple to do, but not obvious to us now.

The Alias of the account you are using, cannot be changed, but you can create a new Discussions Account, with an Alias that you prefer.
You cannot delete your present account. Just stop using it, after you have created a new one.
You can use all of the same info in the new account, Email address, User name, etc, just be sure to insert a new Alias of your choosing.
But your Level(0), Points(0), Total Posts(2), Total Posts Online(2) and Registered Date(12/19/06), will not be transferred.
In the new account, your Post Counts, Points, & Level Status will all start at 0. Your Registered Date will be the date you create the new account.
Your old account, with your previous counts & level, will still be viewable, under the old Alias.
(You really don't have anything accumulated, to be concerned about though.)
After you quit using the old account, those 2 posts, will be archived. What that means is, that if there are no additional responses in the Threads they reside in, the Topics will get continually pushed down on the Topics list. After a certain amount of time, maybe 2 to 6 months, the Threads will be locked, so no responses can be entered. But the Threads will not disappear.
Threads in heavily trafficked Forums, may be archived more rapidly than those in areas, with less activity.
The Topics that you started using the old account, will show your Old Alias, in the Author field of a main forum page, but eventually, readers will have to keep going to the succeeding pages to view them.
If someone were to do a Discussions Search, using these parameters:
Restrict by Category or Forum: All Categories
Restrict by Date Range: All
Restrict by Username: Your Old Alias
all of your posts, created since about 11/13/05, would be found.
To create a new account,
Log out of Discussions. You also may have to delete the Apple Cookies in your browser preferences, but I'm not sure this is necessary. Then follow either of these instructions.

If you haven't signed up for an Apple ID for the Apple Store or AppleCare Support website (or forgot your old one), you can create a new account on the My Info webpage. Just click the "create one" link on the right side of the My Info page. Choose your country location and preferred language from the appropriate pop-up menus, then click Create Account. In the resulting page, enter a unique name (such as your email address) in the Apple ID field and fill in your other relevant information accordingly (fields marked with * are required). Click Continue to complete the process.

That's the classic behaviour after using Migration Assistant and that's normal.

Hi Did you use the same Apple ID toxset up new iPhone? Try a Reboot press & hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo. You may need to do this for upto 50 Seconds. Cheers Brian

You are asking about a Database User I hope.
You can look into the Oracle 8i Documentation and find various privillages listed.
In particular, you may find:
Chapter 27 Privileges, Roles, and Security Policies
an intresting chapter.
You may want to do this with the various tools included with 8i - including the
Oracle DBA Studio - expand the Security node and you can create USERS and ROLES.
Or use SQL*Plus. To create a
user / password named John / Smith, you would login to SQL*Plus as System/manager (or other) and type in:
Create user John identified by Smith;
Grant CONNECT to John;
Grant SELECT ANY TABLE to John;
commit;
There is much more you can do
depending on your needs.
Please read the documentation.

I have a question :
How can I set a specific user log on name to a specific machine.
e.g.
Only User.A can log on to PC.A and the other can not.
Base On :
Windows Server 2003
Active Directory Version : 5.2.3790.1812

Technically we're both right. This depends on what scenario you're setting this up.
1) If you want to say only this person can log on to this machine, and it's not an enterprise solution (meaning you have a handful of computers you want restricted, not all computers) then do something like Yan Li has recommended. However, I
do not recommend using any DENY LOCAL LOGON user rights. In this case, you would have to deny everyone except 'User A' and your Administrators. If you put a user in ALLOW LOCAL LOGON and DENY LOCAL LOGON, then DENY wins and no one logs in. Instead,
you should remove all the settings from ALLOW LOCAL LOGON and add only User A and administrators.
2) If this is an enterprise solution, use the LOG ON TO option I mentioned before. Managing user right assignments per machine is very difficult and isn't a practical way to do it on a large scale. If every user in your domain is assigned a computer
that they can use, only that user can use that machine and that machine will effectively only allow that user. For this to work, EVERY user must be restricted to a workstation, if no setting is present, then that user can log on anywhere. This
is my preferred solution still.
Like I said, it depends on your situation to which route is better. I hope this helps and is clear and easy to understand.

How can i get input from user in Workflows

Hello professionals,
I'm new to SAP B1 Workflow, i have created some workflows and they all worked fine.
But, I am wondering, How can i get input from user?. For example, i want to display list of options to choose between them and route the workflow based on the selected option. I don't want to use the exclusive gateway and check for some conditions, i want to get input from user.
How can i do that?
