How change this dotnet Rijndael code to java?

I have some code in dotnet that creates a key and IV with Rijndael and I need to get it into Java.
Rijndael alg = Rijndael.Create();
alg.Mode = CipherMode.CBC;
alg.Padding = PaddingMode.None;
alg.KeySize = 128;
alg.GenerateKey();
alg.GenerateIV();

KeyGenerator kg = KeyGenerator.getInstance("AES");
SecretKey key = kg.generateKey(); // Creates a random 128 bit key
Cipher cipher = Cipher.getInstance("AES/CBC/NoPadding");
cipher.init(Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, key); // Creates a random IV
Thanks! Just out of curiosity, ahy is it AES and not Rijndael? Bouncycastle lists both for cipher algorithms, aren't they diff?'Rijndael' has flavours 'Rijndael 128', 'Rijndael 192' and 'Rijndael 256' and were entries (amongst many others) for the AES competition which 'Rijndael 128' won.

Are there features of Java 1.4 that you specifically took advantage and are there any particular lines you are having problems with or did you just freak and post it here?
Basically compile it under Java 1.3 and see what complains. I've done several projects that compile under 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4.

• How to call C/C++ - Code from Java?

I would like to know if it is possible to call C or C++ - Code from Java and how to do.

In short, yes you can do this.
Have a look at http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/native1.1/concepts/index.html
to see how...
Good luck!

• How can I view native code in Java?

I am trying to write a program to find the log of a number. I looked for Java's implementation in Math.log(x), but it is a native method. How can I see the code in the other language(C or C++)? I have looked at JNI, but i don't think it is what i need. Any Ideas??

Before the Mustang release, i don't believe sun
released the source code to the native binaries.Actually, I'm pretty sure they did, but I don't know off the top of my head where to get it. You'd have to search.

• How to convert pl/sql code into java/j2ee

Hi,
We have a PL/SQL Oracle App server application that we will support if we can convert in j2ee/java. But when i did take a look at the code, these pl/sql contains all HTML and java code inside the stored procedures.
And iam looking to explore some tools and mechanisms that can convert these pl/sql in a JAVA application so that i can deploy this new app into my BEA81 environment.
Does any body has any idea:
a) How to convert from pl/sql > java ?
b) Any plugins or tools of BEA that can run these pl/sql (the way thay are currently...i.e w/o converting) in BEA 81 container ?
thanks, sangita

these pl/sql contains all HTML and java code insideJava or JavaScript. They are not the same. I wouldn't expect to see Java inside html, whereas JavaScript would be intermixed. On the other hand you might have a java stored proc (Oracle 9/10) which is generating HTML.
>
Does any body has any idea:Refactor.
I doubt it just has html and JavaScript/Java. So what you have is a mess that mixes several things that should have been seperate in the first place.

Works fine here. I suspect you need to use semi colons for the argument separators:
=IF(LEN(B2)>0;"NOTEMPTY";"#0")
Regards,
Barry
PS: Same change will be needed in my formulas above. Commas are used to separate arguments where the period ( . ) is the decimal separator, semi colons ( ; ) where the comma ( , ) is the decimal separator.

You are right, Barry!
Sorry, I work in Excel over 10 hours a day. Any syntax-related comma in Excel will be a semicolon in Numbers. Power of a habit. :-)

• How to add minutes to date in java

I have date in string variable, i have to add/subtract minutes from it, please adivce , how i could do in java 1.5
sample data
String olddate = "12/16/2010 4:58:29 PM"
String minutes1 = "300"
i would like to get value as below for above data
String newdate ="12/16/2010 9:58:29 PM"

Use SimpleDateFormat to convert the date object to string. Once the string object converted to date object use the getTime() method to get the date in milliseconds.
Now you can easily adds/substract the date object.
Remember, the resulting long value from getTime() method is in milliseconds, to get the value in minutes you need to multiply it by 1000 and by seconds in a minutes, that is 60.
When your subtraction/adds done convert it back to date object.
This is the codes:
import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
import java.text.ParseException;
import java.util.Date;
public class DateCalculator {
public static void main(String[] args) throws ParseException {
String olddate = "12/16/2010 4:58:29 PM";
System.out.println("old Date: "+olddate);
SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("MM/dd/yyyy h:mm:ss a");
long oldDateInMillis = formatter.parse(olddate).getTime();
String minutes1 = "300";
String newDateAdds = formatter.format(new Date(oldDateInMillis + Long.valueOf(minutes1)*1000*60 ));
String newDateSubstract = formatter.format(new Date(oldDateInMillis - Long.valueOf(minutes1)*1000*60 ));
System.out.println("new Date [Additions] : "+newDateAdds);
System.out.println("new Date [Substraction] : "+newDateSubstract);
}

• Bar Code in Java ?

I had developed a site and this site needs to suport bar code.
Somebody knows how do i do Bar Code in Java ?
Sorry about my english.

I'm trying to print labels with bar codes myself.
The solution will depend on the bar code printer you're using. The one I've got, Intermec, ONLY understands its own proprietary print protocol, IPL. So my Java app has to generate IPL in a byte stream and send that to the print queue.
I'm still working on it, so I can't claim 100% success, but I'm using javax.print API to get the byte stream to the queue. I KNOW that works. It's just getting the IPL right that's still a problem.
I had to get a UI tool to help me develop labels graphically and then have it spit out the IPL for me.
This might be representative of the path you'll have to follow. - MOD

* Post your code between a pair of {code} tags

- This makes your code easier to read by preserving whitespace and highlighting java syntax.

- The forums tabwidth is 8, as per [the java coding conventions|http://java.sun.com/docs/codeconv/].
- Indents will go jagged if your tabwidth!=8 and you've mixed tabs and spaces.
- Lines longer than 80 characters should be wrapped.
- Proper indentation illustrates program logic.
* Post your error messages between a pair of {code} tags:
- That is: {code} ... errors here ... {code}
- To make it easier for us to find, Mark the erroneous line(s) in your source-code. For example:
System.out.println("Your momma!); // <<<< ERROR 1
- Note that error messages are rendered basically useless if the code has been
modified AT ALL since the error message was produced.
