How come Verizon NEVER responds on here to my questions?

I see reponses to others questions or comments but when I write because of a problem or an issue, its NEVER answered or looked at by Verizon, WHY?

Discussions not marked as unanswered questions generally don't get seen by the VZW reps on the social media team that roams this community.
Discussions marked as questions have a better chance, but it isn't guaranteed either.
This forum is meant to be a peer to peer customer forum made up of customers and potential customers.

  • How come Verizon Wireless will not give their customers a corporate number, email, or address to send complaints?

    I have been with Verizon Wireless for 7 years and I have went through more problems in customer service in the last year then I have in my whole 7 years. Usually if I have a problem they fix it immediately, I tend to call instead of going into a Verizon store because Verizon stores just do not care about their customers. I am beginning to think the same thing about Verizon Wireless customer service.
    Problem number 1: Verizon Wireless making changes to my account, aka payment arrangements, without my knowledge or consent. Making my phone shut off because I was 3 days late. Yes THREE DAYS... not months. Then after they turned my phone on because of their error I paid my bill. About a couple weeks later I decide that I want to purchase a new phone and want it billed to my account. They then tell me that no I could not have it billed to my account because my phone was shut off for non-payment. I then explained that it was an error, they then told me that they could not over-ride the system and I would have to wait 6 months to bill to my account. I asked if that meant I could bill to my account even if Iam late a couple days or what. They told me as long as my phone had not shut off because of non-payment I would be able to bill to my account, also that they would write a formal complaint on the person who made a payment arrangement on my account without my consent and they would get back to me. That was in Mar of 2013. I am still waiting for a reply from my complaint.
    Problem number 2: In March of 2013 Verizon had an email option on their website where you could email corporate and they will email you back. Since then they have taken it off and will not give their customers email, number, or address where they can reach corporate at.
    Problem number 3: Sept of 2013, it has been 6 months. I I then call Verizon to bill to my account a new phone, because I wanted to start a new contract. Well they tell me that because I do not pay on the same day of every month I will not be able to bill to my account and they can not over ride the system. I then tell them that this was not what was told to me in March of this year. The rep tells me that she cant do anything for me except investigate it and get back to me within 4 hours. I say okay and leave my number I wanted to be reached at, I asked if she was sure that she was going to call me back because I have been told in the past by verizon wireless reps that I would receive calls from them and they never bothered to return my call, because basically I was un-important. She stated that she would and she appreciated the business I gave Verizon for the past 7 years. (she was a supervisor by the name of Jeniffer in customer service on the east coast). 5 hours later I still had not received a call so I call back and ask to speak to a supervisor they then tell me that my claim was denied for "unknown" reasons about the call 6 months ago and they were not going to let me bill to my account and they couldnt help me further. I asked for a a corporate number, email, or address and they told me repeatedly that they did not know them and could not give them out if they did know them. That if I had a complaint he could notate it and make sure it was handled. Psssh just like it was handled 6 months ago. I daid thank you but no thanks and ended my call soon thereafter.
    It just galls me that Verizon treats their customers who make them money by using their services and phones every year. They do not have any care for the complaints and actions of their workers as well as their customers.
    I just want to know it anyone knows they corporate number, email or address??
    Or maybe a verizon rep out there (which I pretty much doubt will respond to my question)
    If I dont receive an answer soon I believe... no i KNOW I will be taking my $127.33 else where and maybe just maybe I can get better customer service, even if its just a tiny inch better than Verizons.

    yesterday i went to verizon with a 8 day old broken phone after 40 mins in line to be helped  the sales staff at glenway av in cincinnati turned me around and sent me out the door without solving my problem or returning my less than 14 day old phone.  i called corporate at >>removed<< they called the store and made an appointment with the manager to resolve my issue. when i returned to the store i was told i had to wait in line again so i decided to get loud enough for every customer in the store to hear what kind of customer service i was recieving.  so then the employee at the door not the manager called the police on me and threw me out of the store so today i am returning my phones and am seeking other service providers  but anyhow the corporate number i provided is a good one and the people you reach will solve your problem  corporate level is does do a grat job but the customer service level and store level employees i have found to be very unproffessional and extreemly mismanaged.

  • How come I never heard of "ip"?!

    I'm currently studying Novell's "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Administration" and the tool "ip" is explained. When I saw its use I thought: hah, just another lame frontend to ifconfig and route written by Novell. But it seems I was horribly wrong, apparently it's the successor to those tools and has been around for quite a while now.
    How come I've never seen anyone mention it?! Not on any forum, in any wiki or howto or on IRC! I feel so stupid having learnt something from a SUSE manual. :'(

    You are correct in that ip has been around for awhile now and it is supposed to be the "next generation" ifconfig, however ... ip has some shortcomings of its own.
    For instance type
    ip addr
    and compare the results to
    ifconfig
    or even
    ip route
    compared to
    route
    See ... is a more "messy" way to display the same information  :?  and people tend to stick to what they are familiar with.
    I personally, am aware of ip but find no compelling reason to use it over ifconfig 
    Arch has ip and if you type man ip you will find all the information you may need to use it.

    I go to remove cheesy games, social networking apps, and other junk that I'll never use, and guess what?  They appear right back on the phone!  Turns out that Verizon is pushing that junk right back on the phone.  Why?  Why can't I choose what software I have on my phone?  Why can't I make more memory available on my phone without Verizon cluttering it up again with the same garbage I just got rid of?
    Should Verizon force applications to be installed on our phone that we don't use?  Should they even be allowed to do this?  Why can't I have the freedom to choose what apps I will and will not have on my phone?  What does this tell us about Verizon as a company?
    Just curious.  What do you think?

    Nobody likes it but at least in the case of BB they are only icons and not actual applications.  Being icons they take up very little space and can be hidden in a folder. 
    I recommend that you create a folder called "Junk" and place these icons (and others that are pushed by VZW) in there and then hide the folder.  This removes it from your view and you will forget about them quickly.

    I cant buy apps because I forgot my security questions, and whenever I click the button to send the email which would allow me to change my security questions, it tells me it has sent but when I check my email the email hasnt sent.  I have tried to send the email hundreds of times but still when I check... nothing.  It has started to become very frustrating so any help would be appreciated.

    This would be verizonwireless.com, correct? Their site requests that browsers should not save information for its login form.

    That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.
    Put your install DVD into the optical drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
    When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Just press the Return key on your keyboard once.It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
    If it is then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left handlist. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.
    If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.

    How come some emails that I send to not get there. I never know that they haven,t gone because there is no record of me ever having sent them. I now copy myself in and now see at lts of them have not been set as I have never received them. I have a Microsoft outlook account and am very new to using an iPad. I loved it but this feature has really let me down. Help

    If the emails were successfully sent, the emails should be in the account's Sent mailbox. If an email cannot be sent for whatever reason, it will be placed on the Outbox mailbox along with an error message provided. The Outbox mailbox is not available unless there is a email that could not be sent.
    There is no such thing as a Microsoft Outlook account. Outlook is an email client that can be used to access an Exchange account, IMAP or POP account - no different from the iPad's Mail app.
    Who is the email account provider for this email account you are accessing with Outlook and with the iPad's Mail app, and what is the account type - Exchange, IMAP, or POP?

    The update option shouldn't be shown for any app which is not on my Phone. And none of my accouts had ever purchased that app.

We spend all this money for the latest ipad and all we get is these $5 video and music apps from apple. Why create the iOS platform and only offer so so apps like IMovie and GarageBand ? While other developers are offering much better apps like pinnacle studio for video, Cubasis and Auria for music production, apple has not showed much growth in terms of innovation. While there's nothing wrong with making an app like GarageBand where "anyone " can make a song, how about something for real musicians or an app not so basic as it get for video editing? After spending 0ver $700 on an ipad I'd be willing to spend more than $5 for a better video or audio app.

    First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

    The obvious answer I think is that maybe you are not entering the letters and numbers correctly. I almost never get it right the first time when I use a gift card.
    Try entering the code again - slowly and methodically. If it still doesn't work - look here for help.

    One final thought - if you are using a gift card that was purchased in another country - say like you have a Canada gift card and you live in the U.S. - that card will not work in the U.S. iTunes store.
