How distiller processing PS file through Watch folder

We had an issue with Acrobat Distiller 9.
We use to create watched folder for every project in Distiller. A single distiller is having more than 30 watched folder.
Just wanted to check how distiller watched folder works:
1. Is the distiller pickup PS file as alphabetical wise?
2. Is the distiller pickup PS file as priority when hitting the folder?
3. Is the distiller pickup PS file as time wise?
We had an experience the PS file has picked up as alphabetical wise? Is this right?
I need to understand whether the watched folder should pickup the file based on the time?
Kindly clarify.

I'm assuming this isn't the discontinued Distiller Server product...
Distiller is for low volume personal (single user) use, so Adobe have no documentation and no interest in tuning the performance of multiple queues.
Since each end user MUST have an Acrobat license you might as well set them up individual queues on their own PCs.

You can certainly remove that file. it's basically the cached applet demo.jar (the JRE caches the downloaded jars so that you don't have to keep re-downloading them each time you visit the web site).

How parallel processing of files achieved through threads in java ?
scenario:
let's say i have a folder containing 50 files in that. I want to create a thread pool of 10 size and each thread will pick the files one by one and process those files simultaneously.

What have you tried so far? This isn't a free coding service.
But don't imagine that processing files with 50 threads is going to be 50 times as fast as processing them with one thread. The disk isn't multi-threaded.

I do not think there is a way to do that without add-ons
There are a couple of workarounds I am aware of
* Add the bookmarks manually in the bookmarks library and choose the position. That is using Show all bookmarks -> open required folder -> select a position and right click -> add new bookmark Rather a slow and clumsy process
* Sort a folder and copy it. If you sort the folder contents then copy and paste them they remain in that order when pasted.
There are add-ons but I have not tried them. For example

There will be others available and take note of the advice to backup bookmarks manaully.

you shouldn't need a csv if you want a fixed file you need some thing like

Problems converting DOC files in watched folder

Hi, Have a couple of issues with PDFG: We have managed to configure PDF generator and can view the AdminUI screens. However, when we place a word document in the IN folder, the OUT folder log displays the following message: ----------- Failed to process job <file> Error Code 1 009 Reason : The service to convert the document could not be looked up. ----------- The watched folder as well as services are on local drives. We get the same error when we use the AdminUI > 'create PDF' section to upload a doc/text file. However, we can right-click on a word document and convert it into a PDF. Both the JBoss and MySQL services are running. We also notice that the JBoss service takes a long time (> 1 hr) to start up. Our only requirement is to convert DOC files in watched folder to PDFs. Is there any way to speed up the service startup time? Regards, Nagaraj

- Yes. PDFG was installed on machine having an Office2003 install.
- Yes. The same user credentials were used for Office and PDFG.
- PDFG is not the only application installed. However, both memory/processor utilization were < 50% throughout the JBoss service process. The JBoss service stays on the "starting" mode for a long time.
- We have installed JDK 1.4.2_08

Put the files you want on the first page into the folder, and then use subfolders for the subsequent pages. If the process you saw involved Launchpad on a newer OS, it can’t be done on 10.6.8.

I think you can setup the type of email in Shared office Settings in transaction S016.
There is an option called <Preset document classes>
You choose this pushbutton to branch to the maintenance screen for the document classes that are directly displayed to users in the Business Workplace for selection when they use the Create function. The name under which the documents are displayed can also be maintained.

You do not.
.dmp files are created from our Export and Data Pump database utilities and are proprietary files. You use the corresponding Import (or Data Pump) utility to import the data.
