How do I blink a button one time?

Question

I tried something like this to make the "blue" button blink:
blue.setBackground(Color.BLACK);
                    try
                         Thread.sleep(700);
                    catch(Exception e) {}
                    blue.setBackground(Color.BLUE);
It doesn�t work...I saw a method "BlinkyText" for example, but I�m using Eclipse and there isn�t this method there.
