How do I change my printing settings from "normal" to "fast" ?

HP Officejet J4580 All-in-one
OS:  Max OS X 10.5.8
No error message
No changes made to my system.  My printer has always printed at "normal" but my boss has his setting to "fast" however we can't figure out why my print window appears different than his.

Hello,
Thanks for the post.  There may be several reasons why the printing options are different, maybe updates/versions, different OS, even different printer (different options).  I've attached a link below that may assist (or at least get you started) in locating the printing preferences that you are looking for.  Good Luck!

If you are getting an 'account not in this country' message then try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your iPhone and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select New Zealand.
If you have moved to New Zealand and want to update your details then you might be able to update your billing address by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and logging into it, or you can do it via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes. If you have a credit card on your account then it will need to have been issued by a New Zealand bank and be registered to your address there.

  • How do i change default printer settings

    Hi
I have an Epson Photo PX720WD.
When I print photos directly from Finder they always print on the A4 plain paper I have in the tray rather than the 6 x 4 photo paper I want them to. The print option in Finder doesn't give me any opportuntiy to select settings like, for instance, iPhoto.
I don't want to import all pics into iPhoto as i like being able to print them from Finder so does anyone know how I can change the settings, preferably to make the 6 x photo setting the deafult?
    Thanks in advance
    Steve

    Hi Eustace
thanks for the reply.......I'm on 10.7.5 but I think the issue is that I'm not printing from an App, I want to print direct from Finder and when I select cmd/p or go through the file menu and select print the dialogue box doesn't appear or isn't an option.
On all Apps that I've printed from cmd/p brings up the dialogue box or going to the file menu the print option looks like this:
    Print....
Direct from Finder there are no dots meaning no dialogue box will appear.
I have about 50 pics I want to print so if I can change the default settings then I can simply cmd/p every time knowing that they'll print the way I want them.
I would also like to change the default settings as I print pics about 95% of the time so it's less hassle to change it when I want a plain A4 print.
    Any ideas?!!
    Thanks again
    Steve

  • How do I change my printer settings programmatically ?

How do I open a print menu, to change the printer, the orientation and the number of pages to be printed out during the execution of a LabVIEW program ?

    Check out the example at:
    http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niepd_web_display.DISPLAY_EPD4?p_guid=B45EACE3DFC656A4E034080020E74861&p_node=DZ52084&p_submitted=N&p_rank=&p_answer=&p_source=External
If you set the VI to display the printer dialog you can set the printer and the print orientation from there...the number of pages should be possible to control from what you actually put in the VI to be printed.

  • How do I change default printer settings in Lion?

I just got a new MacBook Pro and after installing the correct drivers and setting up my printer, it now prints 2-sided by default.  How do I change this default setting?
I'm using a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.7.4, printing over AirPort to a KonicaMinolta office machine.  I had this same setup with my old MBP (OS X 10.6.8) with no problems whatsoever.

Many vendors have started releasing printer drivers that have been defaulted to two-sided (duplexed). I would assume that the printer driver you are using on 10.6 is an older version compared to that being used on Lion.
There are two possible actions. One is to create a Preset that has the driver set to single sided and use this preset when you don't want duplex. The other is to modify the PPD for the printer so that it is set to single sided by default.
Making a Preset is easy. Open a document and select to print. Make the changes in the print dialog to set single sided printing and then open the Presets menu and choose to save this change for this KM printer. Then whenever you print to the KM just ensure the Preset is set to whatever name you gave to the single sided setting.
As for modifying the PPD, this is done via the CUPS web page.
To access CUPS, open Safari and type
    http://127.0.0.1:631/printers
This will open the CUPS Printer administration page and will show all the printers currently configured on the Mac. For the printer that you wish to change the defaults for, click its name in the Queue Name column.
Clicking the printer name will open the printer administration page for that printer. Here you need to click on the Administration drop menu and then select Set Default Options.
This will show a new page with four menu headings (links); Options Installed, General, Banners and Policies. Select General. Scroll down the list until you find an entry like "Finishing" or something similar that shows the single sided and two sided setting. Change this from 2 sided to 1 sided.
With the option selected you then need to scroll down the list to the bottom of the page where you will see the ‘Set Default Options’ button. Click this button and you will then be presented with an authentication window. Enter the account name and password that has been set as the admin for this Mac. And then press the Log In button. You will then see another page stating that the information change is completed.
Now you can open an application and select to print and then check the output is set to single sided.

  • HOW DO I CHANGE MY PRINT SETTINGS SO THAT THEY STAY SET TO MY PRINTER DEFAULTS?????????????????????????????????????????

This one issue is probably the one thing that would make me abandon Firefox FOREVER (besides the problems with Flash). If I change print settings for ONE COPY I have nothing but HELL trying to get my print settings BACK to my PRINTER defaults. Why can't Firefox be like the REST of the computer world and have the PRINTER DEFAULTS override Firefox?????
I made a change yesterday and I have NOT been able to get it changed BACK to the defaults.
    Is thois too complicated?

  • How can I change the printing setting from head to toe to head to head, to print a pdf document

Hi everyone, I'm printing a booklet from a pdf document. I have used the two-sided option but it reverses the position of the second page.
How can I set it up  head to print what you will call in a pc enviroment: head to head?
    Thanks,

    Terence,
perhaps Dukeasooke is using mixed language settings like me.
I found that changing "Measurements Units" did not suffice, if the region is still set to Germany. I had to actually set the region in the Language & Text preferences to a country that uses "US" units in addition to ensuring that the "US" units were selected. Also, with Mavericks it is essential  to restart the system before launching iPhoto again after changing "Language & Text" preferences, or they may not take.

  • How do I change the printer settings on macBook pro OSX v10.8.1?

I am trying to print a webpage but i want it in duplex format (two pages front and back on one sheet). The default is set to "one sided". I can't seem to change the presets (under presets > show presets > copies and pages > settings and value). Usually we can change the value, ie. the number of copies and change the format to "duplex". I can't seem to change the value.

I am running Leopard OS in 64 bit mode. Everytime I want to run my Cisco VPN client I reboot it in 32 bit mode by holding the two keys (don't remember what two keys at the moment).  I am looking for another way to run my Cisco VPN.  I don't see the check box labeled "Open in 32-bit mode" .  The only thing I see is "Open in Rosetta" or something like that.  Is the check box "Open in 32-bit mode" only show in Lion X OS?

  • How do I change my iCloud settings from Uk to USA?

Hi All, I have set my icloud account in the UK but I live now in California and I cannot download american apps as the system tells me I need to change my settings. Any idea how to do that?
    Thanks a lot!

I assume you mean the country for iTunes and App store purchases, not iCloud.  To change it, see http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1311.

  • How do i change my sound settings from complete this action from always to just once

I accidently selected always instead of just once on how I wanted to complete an action concerning my ringtones

You can go to settings-app manager-menu-reset app defaults, or you can go to the one app you accidentally set as default for sound and clear it as a default by going to your app manager and scrolling to that app, tap it, clear default.

  • I have a Mac with OS 10 5.8 and a new HP Pro 8500 Premier Printer. When printing, how do I change the print option from photo paper to plain or inkjet? This is a serious problem and HP tells me it is a problem with Firefox, that they are getting several

I used to be able to choose print options with Firefox and now I can't. It forces me to use photo paper when I want only to use plain paper. I do not have this problem with Safari or IE, just firefox. I have an office jet 4500 HP printer

I should add that it's an HP photosmart 4280.I found it online and it shows the Mac 0SX operating system.

  • How to change printer settings from serverside?

    Hello
I have an ActiveX component which when loaded from client side browser changes its printer settings that is orientation from portrait to landscape. But when user clicks on this "print this page" link, download ActiveX component message is displayed. If anybody can help, how to do from serverside (IBM WebSphere) so that these messages are not displayed & printer dialog box settings change to A4, Landscape.
Looking forward for an early reply.
    Thanks

Though server is not connected to client side printer but when serverside script which is embeded in "Jsp" & when client(user) clicks on "print this page" link, script changes user browser settings to "portrait, a4" so there is no need to download ActiveX control which is sometimes diasbled in client browser or message is display to download that component.
I heard there is serverside script which removes all these disadvantages?
Looking forward for an early reply.

  • How to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another (both OSX)?

Hello, I have not found a detailed description on how to transfer printer settings from one Mac to another.
My issue is that I have a Mac G5 with 3 different settings saved as "presets" for the same printer. This works great, since the posters I print (on the large format printer) need different margins and different paper at times.
This G5 is basically retired and only used for printing. G5 has OSX 10.3.9
I have a MacPro as its replacement (OSX 10.4.11).
The MacPro has all my apps and other settings setup to my liking.
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
If someone would list the steps needed to accomplish the transfer of printer settings or advise if this is possible, then I would be very grateful! The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
    Thanks!

Hi SCChelpdesk, and a warm welcome to the forums!
I found several links via Google saying copy this folder or directory, but I am not sure I did it correctly. I don't see the "presets".
This is the File that holds that info on Tiger, not certain on Panther...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.print.custompresets.plist
After moving, you very well might have to change the Owner's Permissions within Get Info window, then log out/in.
I tried launching the Migration Assistant (I hope that's the correct name), but was concerned the settings on the new MacPro would be overwritten with ALL the old stuff on the older G5. I did not start the transfer process because of this.
MA would transfer the info, but/and, if the user that had that info had the same Shortname as on the new one, it'll demand you give it a new Shortname to use... but then those settings would be transferred to that new user on the new machine. I think the 1st one will work though.
The previous user of the G5 I am using was a "Genius" and I don't know how he created these "preset" choices.
We can go through that way if you like... not all that hard.
