How do i change xml schema in java

i want to change a oracle.xml.parser.schema.xmlschema object in java (adding or changing elements, types, etc). is there some hidden way i didn't think of besides changing the xmldocument object behind the schema and rebuilding the schema? i find that rather uncomfortable.
i'd appreciate any answers, even negative ones :)
thanks

  • How to handle multiple xmls(schemas) using java

    Can anyone give me solution for the below issue.
    We are handling five types of xmls(five different xsds) in our application.We have the XML and its XSD in database. Currently we are using JAXB to create and update the xmls.
    In future there is a chance to add new schema. In that case our current code will not work (because the JAXB is tightly coupled with the xsds) for new schema. Is there any technology or method to handle this situvation?
    I am looking for early respons.

    You have no idea? Then look in your JavaMail download and you will find several sample programs that you can use to get started. It would also help to read the JavaMail FAQ (Google will find it easily for you).

  • XML Schema for Java Bugs

    I've just downloaded your XML Schema for Java software are have been systematically testing it with a relatively simple document. A few bugs:
    1. the use="required" attribute of the attribute element doesn't have any effect (doesn't show any error message or throw any exceptions) when the required attribute is omitted.
    2. If I declare an element like:
    <element name="age">
    <simpleType>
    <restriction base="positiveInteger">
    <maxInclusive value="100"/>
    </restriction>
    </simpleType>
    </element>
    Then, if I modify my xml document instance to say:
    <age pointless="true">26</age>
    This will throw a non-parser exception with a message of null, instead of saying "Attribute 'pointless' not expected", as it does if I redefine the schema declaration as:
    <element name="age">
    <complexType>
    <simpleContent>
    <extension base="my:ageType"/>
    </simpleContent>
    </complexType>
    </element>

    I'm glad someone else has noticed that unique keyref and key don't seem to be working with the Dom Parser. If they don't work WHY ARE THEY (key, keyref, unique) IN THE EXAMPLE'S THAT ARE DOWNLOADED WITH THE SCHEMA PARSER. In report.xsd, a file downloaded with the example, it makes clear usage of unique, key, and key ref. But if you violate the schema definitions in the corresponding file report.xml the parser doesn't complain whatsoever. The only time it barfs is if you change the keyref refer attribute to something other than "pNumKey". It obviously has to work. No bone head would send example files along with their product that didn't work.
    So, if anyone at ORACLE or elsewhere has figured out how to use unique, key, or keyref please respond with an explination of how to correctly use them with the parser. Your name will be blessed throughout the ages as a most kind and venerable person. You will be a hallmark, a standard, a shining light for all future generations of what a human being should be! Okay maybe I'm going a little overboard but I'm DESPERATE. With no books or collateral on how this stupid thing works all I can do is hack.

    Hello guys,
    How to compare two xml schemas? is there any tool for that?
    Thanksinadvance

    XML Files may be compared with the oracle.xml.differ.XMLDiff class.
    A file consisting of the differences in the xml files gets generated. An XSLT to convert one file to the other also gets generated.

  • How to change XML Schema in MDM Console?

    Hi Experts,
    My scenario: SRM send products to MDM Catalog using PI.
    I need to change the XML Schema (XSD) for processing some new fields that don't exist in Catalog. So I created a copy of the XSD file in my station and made the necessary changes.
    In XML Schema (MDM Console), I changed the FileName for getting the XSD I created.
    But when I tested SRM Shopping Cart again, this couldn't access the products in Catalog anymore.
    1) After my chage the FileName shows the name with "c:\Documents and Settings\...". Does it work?? Is this the cause of the error?
    2) Do you know why my change affect the Shopping Cart access to the products in the Catalog?
    3) Now I don't know how to undo my change in FileName. I can't do it because in the FileName MDM Console it doesn't allow to write it. It allows only to choose a file in some place, my station for example.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks!
    Rose

    Hi Kanstantsin,
    I was analysing what you explain, but it was not exactly this problema. But what you wrote, help me to understand better the MDM and lets me know more about schemas .
    Thank you very much for your help.
    Hi Vinary,
    It was exactly this. I had edited the name. I changed it and now it is working.
    Thank you very much for your help!

  • How to print a xml schema diagram in JDev 10g

    Hi,
    When I print an XML schema file (.xsd), it is printing the script, where as I want to print it as an image.
    For other class diagrams, I notice that we can publish them as JPEG or PNG and print it from Windows. But I could not find the same for an XML schema diagram?
    Can you help?
    Thanks, Raju

    Well, the Schema Editor a Visual Editor, it does not intend to produce images to be printed... You can collapse and expand all nodes, how would you expect the printer to behave in such a situation?!
    If you wish to print a diagram, you have to capture it for yourself with the appropriate tool - that will change depending on the OS you're working on, and include it in your document.
    That is the way it works for now.

  • XML Schema Collection (SQL Server 2012): How to create an XML Schema Collection that can be used to Validate a field name (column title) of an existing dbo Table of a Database in SSMS2012?

    Hi all,
    I used the following code to create a new Database (ScottChangDB) and a new Table (marvel) in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012) successfully:
    -- ScottChangDB.sql saved in C://Documents/SQL Server XQuery_MacLochlainns Weblog_code
    -- 14 April 2015 09:15 AM
    USE master
    IF EXISTS
    (SELECT 1
    FROM sys.databases
    WHERE name = 'ScottChangDB')
    DROP DATABASE ScottChangDB
    GO
    CREATE DATABASE ScottChangDB
    GO
    USE ScottChangDB
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[marvel] (
    [avenger_name] [char] (30) NULL, [ID] INT NULL)
    INSERT INTO marvel
    (avenger_name,ID)
    VALUES
    ('Hulk', 1),
    ('Iron Man', 2),
    ('Black Widow', 3),
    ('Thor', 4),
    ('Captain America', 5),
    ('Hawkeye', 6),
    ('Winter Soldier', 7),
    ('Iron Patriot', 8);
    SELECT avenger_name FROM marvel ORDER BY ID For XML PATH('')
    DECLARE @x XML
    SELECT @x=(SELECT avenger_name FROM marvel ORDER BY ID FOR XML PATH('Marvel'))--,ROOT('root'))
    SELECT
    person.value('Marvel[4]', 'varchar(100)') AS NAME
    FROM @x.nodes('.') AS Tbl(person)
    ORDER BY NAME DESC
    --Or if you want the completed element
    SELECT @x.query('/Marvel[4]/avenger_name')
    DROP TABLE [marvel]
    Now I am trying to create my first XML Schema Collection to do the Validation on the Field Name (Column Title) of the "marvel" Table. I have studied Chapter 4 XML SCHEMA COLLECTIONS of the book "Pro SQL Server 2008 XML" written by
    Michael Coles (published by Apress) and some beginning pages of XQuery Language Reference, SQL Server 2012 Books ONline (published by Microsoft). I mimicked  Coles' Listing 04-05 and I wanted to execute the following first-drafted sql in
    my SSMS2012:
    -- Reference [Scott Chang modified Listing04-05.sql of Pro SQL Server 2008 XML by Michael Coles (Apress)]
    -- [shcColes04-05.sql saved in C:\\Documents\XML_SQL_Server2008_code_Coles_Apress]
    -- [executed: 2 April 2015 15:04 PM]
    -- shcXMLschemaTableValidate1.sql in ScottChangDB of SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012)
    -- saved in C:\Documents\XQuery-SQLServer2012
    tried to run: 15 April 2015 ??? AM
    USE ScottChangDB;
    GO
    CREATE XML SCHEMA COLLECTION dbo. ComplexTestSchemaCollection_all
    AS
    N'<?xml version="1.0"?>
    <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <xsd:element name="marvel">
    <xsd:complexType>
    <xsd:all>
    <xsd:element name="avenger_name" />
    <xsd:element name="ID" />
    </xsd:all>
    </xsd:complexType>
    </xsd:element>
    </xsd:schema>';
    GO
    DECLARE @x XML (dbo. ComplexTestSchemaCollection_all);
    SET @x = N'<?xml version="1.0"?>
    <marvel>
    <avenger_name>Thor</name>
    <ID>4</ID>
    </marvel>';
    SELECT @x;
    GO
    DROP XML SCHEMA COLLECTION dbo.ComplexTestSchemaCollection_all;
    GO
    I feel that drafted sql is very shaky and it needs the SQL Server XML experts to modify to make it work for me. Please kindly help, exam the coding of my shcXMLTableValidate1.sql and modify it to work.
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott Chang

    Hi Scott,
    2) Yes, FOR XML PATH clause converts relational data to XML format with a specific structure for the "marvel" Table. Regarding validate all the avenger_names, please see below
    sample.
    DECLARE @x XML
    SELECT @x=(SELECT ID ,avenger_name FROM marvel FOR XML PATH('Marvel'))
    SELECT @x
    SELECT
    n.value('avenger_name[1]','VARCHAR(99)') avenger_name,
    n.value('ID[1]','INT') ID
    FROM @x.nodes('//Marvel') Tab(n)
    WHERE n.value('ID[1]','INT') = 1 -- specify the ID here
    --FOR XML PATH('Marvel')  --uncommented this line if you want the result as element type
    3)i.check the xml schema content
    --find xml schema collection
    SELECT ss.name,xsc.name collection_name FROM sys.xml_schema_collections xsc JOIN sys.schemas ss ON xsc.schema_id= ss.schema_id
    select * from sys.schemas
    --check the schema content,use the name,collection_name from the above query
    SELECT xml_schema_namespace(N'name',N'collection_name')
    3)ii. View can be viewed as virtual table. Use a view to list the XML schema content.
    CREATE VIEW XSDContentView
    AS
    SELECT ss.name,xsc.name collection_name,cat.content
    FROM sys.xml_schema_collections xsc JOIN sys.schemas ss ON xsc.schema_id= ss.schema_id
    CROSS APPLY(
    SELECT xml_schema_namespace(ss.name,xsc.name) AS content
    ) AS cat
    WHERE xsc.name<>'sys'
    GO
    SELECT * FROM XSDContentView
    By the way, it would be appreciated if you can spread your questions into posts. For any question, feel free to let me know.

  • How to write as XML file using java 1.5

    hi all,
    i am trying to create an XML file using java 1.5. I took a XML creating java file which was working with java 1.4 and ported same file into java 1.5 with changes according to the SAX and DOM implmentation in java 1.5 and tried to compile.     DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
                   dbf.setNamespaceAware(true);
    DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document xmlDoc =  db.newDocument();
    // this creates the xml document ref
    // parent node reference
    Element rootnd = (Element) xmlDoc.createElement("ALL_TABLES");
    // root node
    xmlDoc.appendChild(rootnd);
    Element rownd = (Element) xmlDoc.createElement("ROW");
    rootnd.appendChild(rownd);
    Element statusnd = (Element) xmlDoc.createElement("FILE_STATUS");
    rownd.appendChild(statusnd);
    statusnd.appendChild(xmlDoc.createTextNode("Y")
    FileOutputStream outpt = new FileOutputStream(outdir + "//forbranch.xml");
    Writer outf = new OutputStreamWriter(outpt, "UTF-8");
    //error is occuring here Since write method is not available in the Document class
    xmlDoc.write(outf);
    outf.flush();

    Hi,
    when I look in the JDK1.4.2 specification I don't see any write method in the Document interface.
    However, your solution is the Transformer class. There you transform your DOM tree into any output you need. Your code sould look something like this:     TransformerFactory tf = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
         // set all necessary features for your transformer -> see OutputKeys
         Transformer t = tf.newTransformer();
         t.transform(new DOMSource(xmlDoc), new StreamResult(file));Then you have your XML file stored in the file system.
    Hope it helps.

  • Parse XML Schema in Java

    Hi all.
    I need to parse an XML Schema and get the following information out of
    it:
    list of elements allowed in schema
    list of attributes for each element - which are required and which
    optional
    given an element name get elements that it can contain
    etc.
    Parsing with JDOM XPath seems to be complicated, because there are
    many ways to say something in schema, although it would be my
    preferred way.
    I also looked at JAXB and Xerces, but their APIs seem to be more
    complicated than I need.
    Is there a simple API for doing what I need?
    Thank you very much for help.
    Anna

    I looked at JAXB, the problem there is that as I understand it, it first converts the schema to a bunch of
    Java classes and then I need to compile them and use.
    I am looking for something more straightforward, that will allow me to load the schema and do queries, but I can't find anything.
    About Xerces - I can't find any good examples for querying schema, all are about validating xml
    with given schema, which is not what I need. This is also true about JAXP.
    I will be really glad if someone new some good links with examples of Xerces/JAXB used for
    querying schema.
    Hope that I don't ask for to much.
    Thank you very much for help.

  • How to import multiple XML schemas in Toplink.

    Hi All,
    I try to import multiple Schema(defined by EPCGlobal) in toplink This schema imports few other schemas and all are available in the same location.
    For this I tried to create a project by selecting XML radio button, and specified an XSD. The classes are getting generated for this file. After this, I try to import all other schema's using the Import schema option. I'm able to import it. but, I'm not able to generate classes for the schemas imported recently. Can you please let me know whether this is the expected behaviour..?

    I tried to use the "tljaxb.cmd" but there too the same problem occurs.Where the problem could be..? please let me know.
    As I'm struck with this problem, please throw some light in this regard.
    Thanks
    Rajasekaran

    Rajasekaran,
    I have examined your XML schemas and do not believe that the problem is due to the import. Instead it is because the XML schema being imported is itself invalid. I have emailed you the specific correction to your XML schema. It was an error related to the namespace qualification of the type in one of your element declarations.

  • How do I change colour scheme on iphone S4?

    I just ran the update on my phone. The green colour scheme for icons etc is vile, just looking at it makes me queasy, the keypad impossible to see in bright light - a catastrophe! How do I change it back to what it was or at least to something that is usuable? It seems a lot of people have the problem, so I'm hoping that there will be an answer somewhere. I cannot really use the phone as is because its too hard too read texts, too hard to see names. All help appreciated.

    So, when you said: "The green colour scheme for icons etc is vile, just looking at it makes me queasy", you considered the 3 green icons out of 26 iOS icons to constitute the icon color scheme??
    When you said "green color scheme for icons" it implied that you saw  all icons as containing green.  Hence, the ophthalmologic recommendation.  That said, I agree with you about the psychedelic quality of the green and red icons - poor choice on Apple's part, but hardly nauseating.
    Did you try the Bold Text and Increase Contrast settings I mentioned?
    The folder icons and dock are translucent in that they take on the coloring of the background.  Changing the wallpaper will change their cast.  If you use one of the "dynamic" wallpapers, the folders and dock change hue as the background changes.
