How do I connect my NI USB-6259 properly to SCXI?

I have
a NI USB-6259 DAQ Module
a SCXI-1001 Chassis
3 SCXI-1143 8 Channel Low Pass Filter Modules
and
a SCXI-1180 Front End Plate
I use a SH68-68-EPM Cable for Connecting the USB-6259(Connector 0) to a SCXI-1349.
Is it wise to use another Cable to connect Connector 1 of the USB-6529 to a SCXI-1349 mounted on the same chassis to get parallel operation?
Can I detect with my USB Module all 24(3x 8 Channel Lowpass) in Single Ended Operation with only one cable?

Hi Alex,
I'm sorry you had to wait for an answer for quite a long time.
To be honest, I don't really get your question.
One AI Input for the Cable on the USB 6259 has the range for 16 Signals.
So you can't send 24 Signals in one cable, as long as you don't add the signals in diferrent frequencies
and seperate them afterwards programatically..
But if you just want to get the Signal in the normal way you would need 2 cables for that.

That message indicates that a read timeout occured. This usually suggests either a cabling problem (the RS-485 pin-out is in the NI-Serial manual pdf), a port settings problem (baud rate, etc.), a COM port number problem (using COM3 instead of COM4, etc.), or a communication protocol problem (incorrect command sent to the device, etc.). I suggest double checking your cabling and port settings, then run your vi with NI-SPY open to see what type of port activity is occuring.

I wish you were consistent. Now you are saying that you have a signal generator and not a network analyzer. Are you really sure of what instruments you have?
For the 33250A, there is an instrument driver here. You will obviously need to connect the instrument to the pc in some manner. The instrument supports GPIB, Ethernet, USB, and RS-232. You need to find out what interface the actual instrument has. If it's only GPIB, you would need a GPIB controller for the pc. For information on what a driver is and how to use one, check the links on the Instrument Driver Network page.
I already mentioned that you use DAQmx functions to control/read the DAQ card. See the DAQmx Getting Started page for explanations of waht DAQmx is and how you use it for NI DAQ cards.

And why do you continue to not provide the details that have been constantly asked for? Whether or not you understand LabVIEW, you need to be able to do a technical description of your task. but not the usb iPhone i used to have.

The 6008 is a static DIO, so speed shouldn't be an issue. Therefore an optocoupler should work. Just make sure you get one the meets your specs.

Actually the reason to use Quantum SCSI tape recorder is to back-up big amount of data (propriety movies footage) both on PC (what is quite easy, using SCSII host adapter with VHDCI 68 connector) and iMac what seems to be not easy. All my search by Google leads to that conclussion, they finished production of SCSI-to-USB or FireWire because somebody stopped to produce chips to covert protocols. So even buying noe second-hand adapter, no guaranty it's still working with Lion (nobody is developing drivers anymore). Strange is, nobody or just a few are using SCSII (Ultra 320) devices (while the transfer is not bad, 320 MBps what is 2560 Mbps, so the only limitation is tape recording (some 80 MBps) not an interface. Using compression mode I can (and I do) record 1,6 TB of footage data. However quite slow, is safe and cheap, comparing with any HD storage solution. USB 2 is much more limited.
I'm using Time Capsule for buck-up. But even 3 TB one day will be full of data, then old back-ups will be eaten by new once, what is not good idea for archives. I'm using another 2TB NAS HD (2x2TB RAID 1), but this is also going to be full soon.
Of course, you are right, the option is another machine (OSX,Win,Linux or Solaris) equipped with SCSII controller. But this requires another machine, just for back-up time to time, and in practice iMac folders must be shared with that small auxiliary machine because amount of data practically excluding even temporary data collection on auxiliary machine. And it must be transfer by wire, not WIFI, my only network. Tape recording is in my case really good, professional solution, isn't it?
Anyway, if somebody has similar requirements as me, and found the solution for SCSI, please let me know. So far, follow Jan's idea, I'm thinking about some embeded mini PC, fanless, equipped with slot for SCSI, with SOME smart system on-board, to deal with iMac for type recording. The option is previous Apple model, but to be honest, I became Mac/OSX user 4 years ago. I fell in love with Mac, but my knowledge about previous models is based on Google....
My desk becomes full of boxes. Do you know how big Quantum TC-L42BX is ? Is very big. And now another box.....another keyboard....another screen... And one small adapter could solve the problem. Eh....

Drive Partition and Format
1.Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
Steps 4-6 are optional but should be used on a drive that has never been formatted before, if the format type is not Mac OS Extended, if the partition scheme has been changed, or if a different operating system (not OS X) has been installed on the drive.
