Support for ASP.NET was removed from Dreamweaver some time ago (in CS4, I think).
If you want to restore the ASP.NET server behaviors in CS5, you need to install ASPNet_Support.mxp, which can be found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS5\configuration\DisabledFeatures in Windows or the similar location in the Applications folder on a Mac.
The server behaviors are no longer officially supported, but they perform the same functionality as in older versions of Dreamweaver.

  • Creating ODBC DSN for SQL Server in LINUX

    Hi All,
I am getting probelms in creating DSN for SQL server. I have created an entry in odbc.ini file under ODBC sources and provided the SQL server detiails as follows

When I test the connection ,i am getting the following error
+[nQSError: 16023] The ODBC function has returned an error. The database may not be available, or the network may be down.+
Can you please help in fixing this issue.I am not sure of the Drivers and the descrition that I am using are correct or not.
Please let me know the process of creating the DSN for SQL server in LINUX and also how can we check the available drivers in LINUX?
    Thank You in advance,
    S1r1

OBIEE does all of its data retrieval from the server. Your server needs to be able to query all of the data sources that you define.
The client is irrelevant here, it's just a web browser consuming data that the BI Server returns to it.
So yes you need to define connectivity from your Linux server to your SQL Server box.
The Systems Requirements doc (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e10417.pdf) details DataDirect ODBC drivers that are provided for non-Widows connectivity to SQL Server

  • How do I create a view in SQL Server in Visual Studio Express 2013 for Desktop?

    Hi
I've got a SQL Server database set up using the internal SQL Server in Visual Studio Express 2013 for Desktop. I want to create a view (using tables with one to many relationships) but I don't
    know how to do it.
Where can I find a good tutorial on creating views in SQL Server in Visual Studio Express 2013 for Desktop? I think Visual Studio Express 2013 for Desktop doesn't have some view designer that
exists in the non-express version of Visual Studio (if I'm not mistaken). So I think I'd need a tutorial on how to do the actual SQL, unless there is some tool I don't know about.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
According to your description, if you install SQL Server SQL Server 2014 Express and SQL Server Manager Studio tools (SSMS), if you want to create a view, you can use SSMS. Then if you want to connect to and Diagram your SQL Express Database in Visual Studio
2013, you can attach the database file by using the .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server in Visual Studio, and create a database diagram via expanding the “Database Diagrams” node.
For more information, there is similar issue about how to connect to and Diagram your SQL Express Database in Visual Studio 2012 , you can review the following article,

  • How to uninstall/remove security update for SQL Server 2012

My requirement is to uninstall/remove security update for SQL

    Go to Control panelàProgramsà
Programs and FeaturesàInstalled Updrtes, right click on update and uninstall
As per my knowledge in SQL Server 2005, we cannot uninstall a service pack. we have to uninstall SQL Server 2005 completely, and reinstall SQL Server 2005 with previous service
packs and updates. but Starting SQL Server 2008, we can uninstall a service pack using Control Panel.

  • How to get Cumulative Update packages for SQL Server Compact v3.5 SP2 for use on a Windows Mobile device

There are links on the pages for various Cummulative Updates for SQL Compact v3.5 SP2 which look to relate to the desktop version, but are these also available for Windows Mobile devices?  If so, what is the process to get hold of them?
We are seeing intermittent problems with corrupted databases on devices which are using SQL Compact v3.5 SP2 and have seen that some of the Cumulative Updates do relate to corruption and would like to see if these can help to solve the issue.

Just select the KB article, at the top of each there is a link to request a hotfix, you will then get a email with a download link. The 8088 and 8109 hotfixes also apply to Windows Mobile.

    ok here's what i did:
iv tested a simple code for this case.
I created a table name tblDate which has 3 columns namely date_ID, date_From (datatype datetime), date_To (datatype datetime).
I inserted 1 row: date_ID has the value 1, date_From has the value 10/22/2004, and date_To has the value 10/24/2004.
i run the java code below:

  • Question : Service Accounts for SQL Server 2012

    Hello,
I am planning to create AD accounts for SQL Server 2012 services that will be installed on Windows 2012 server.
    I was reading the following
Configure Windows Service Accounts and Permissions
    and
    Windows Privileges and Rights
Is there a recommendation / document that would list that assocation of SQL Server Services with Actvie Directory service accounts / privileges required for installation and starting the services.
Isn't it recommended to create separate account for every service and they should not be local accounts ?
Hope to hear soon as to what industry standards are being followed for production systems ?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Regards
    Nikunj

    From MSDN:
Each service in SQL Server represents a process or a set of processes to manage authentication of SQL Server operations with Windows. Each service can be configured to use its own service account. This facility is exposed
at installation. SQL Server provides a special tool, SQL Server Configuration Manager, to manage the services configuration.
When choosing service accounts, consider the principle of least privilege. The service account should have exactly the privileges that it needs to do its job and no more privileges. You also need to consider account isolation; the service accounts should
not only be different from one another, they should not be used by any other service on the same server. Do not grant additional permissions to the SQL Server service account or the service groups.
    From Glen Berry's Blog:
You should request that a dedicated domain user account be created for use by the SQL Server service. This should just be a regular, domain account with no special rights on the domain. You do not need or want this account to be a local admin on the machine
where SQL Server will be installed. The SQL Server setup program will grant the necessary rights on the machine to that account during installation.
You will also want a separate, dedicated domain user account for the SQL Server Agent service. If you are going to be installing and using other SQL Server related services such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS),
or SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), you will want dedicated domain accounts for each service. The reason you want separate accounts for each service is because they require different rights on the local machine, and having separate accounts is both more
secure and more resilient, since a problem with one account won’t affect all of the SQL Server Services.
Depending on your organization, getting these domain accounts created could take anywhere from minutes to weeks to complete, so make sure to allow time for this. For each one of these accounts, you will need their logon credentials for the SQL Server setup
program. You are going to want to make sure that the accounts don’t have a temporary password that must be changed during the next login. If they are set up that way, make sure to change them to use a strong password, and record this information in a secure
    location.

  • How to create CATALOG with MS SQL Server?

Connection class has getCatalog(strCatalog) method. In order to use it, we must create CATALOG in Database?
How to create CATALOG with MS SQL Server?
    Help me, please!!!

You do not create these for any database, this is part of the Connection metadata.
The Catalog is the third level of table-like database object qualification as in "Catalog.Schema.Table". For SQLServer the qualification scheme is "Database.Owner.Table" and I would be surprised if they reported anything for the current connections getCatalog() method call.
What many people do is avoid table qualification altogether by setting the connection's context in a database proprietary manner and then keeping the SQL as clean as possible. For many ODBC and JDBC drivers this can be set in the configuration. For MS SQLServer you can also execute a "USE dbname" statement on the connection to avoid table qualification.

Right-click the WINDOWS desktop, choose New->Microsoft Data Link. That will bring up a dialog that allows you to configure and test your database connection. You might connect to the Access database via ODBC or directly via Jet Engine. The Jet Enginge saves you the trouble of creating an ODBC connection on your PC. After you leave the dialog, the "data link" will show up on your desktop as text file. Open it and copy-paste the connection string to your VI.
This webpage is an excellent resource for connection strings: http://www.able-consulting.com/ADO_Conn.htm
If your application requires users to change the database connection at runtime, you can also include the dialog via ActiveX (MSDASC.IDataSourceLocator).

I have tried two times to reinstall SQL Server 2012 Express and I have installed Cumulative Update #3 for SQL Server 2012 and restarted the machine, but I have still the same problem with the same error message.

How can I solve the problem?

    Hi Jan,
Have you installed Visual Studio in your machine?
The problem seems to be related to installing and uninstalling the VS 2011 RC0 program.
The workaround involves copying the files from another PC with SQL 2008 or 2012 from one machine to another. Just replace this folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\MSDesigners8
